Alicia blushed again when the guy looked at her, and she looked down again
before he could think she was a total idiot. Although he probably already
thought that, considering. When she looked up through her peripheral vision,
she saw that he seemed to be analyzing her, which of course caused her to
blush once more. She grabbed her book and apple and shoved them in her
bag, planning to throw the apple away as soon as possible. She was about to
pick herself up when the boy bent down to her level and held a hand out to
her. She stopped breathing for a second when she saw him up close and
noticed even more how cute he was. She felt like such an idiot for falling over
him. She grabbed his hand hesitantly and he helped her up.
"Sweetie, you should really be more careful about where you set those small
feet of yours."
Alicia blushed again. Was it really going to be one of those days? Where she
couldn't stop blushing? She really needed to learn to control this. She thought
about his comment. Story of her life. She was always tripping over one thing
or another. It wasn't really a quality she enjoyed having. She wished she
could just stop being so klutzy all the time. It really didn't help her stay
out of the center of attention. She looked back at the boy and said, "Um, I
know... Thanks for helping me up." She moved her bag to the other
shoulder and wondered if he would keep talking to her or if she should walk
away. The bell wouldn't ring for another ten minutes or such and she didn't
have anything to do, but he probably wouldn't want to talk to her, since she'd
probably almost knocked him over in her fall. She bit her lip and watched him,
wondering what to do.
