Asahria shoved her blonde curls back behind her ears, her blue eyes pinpointed on the mirror before her. It was the same face she had encountered for weeks on end, her hair framing her slight face as it always had, her lips reflecting the same gentle curve, even the few freckles splashed across her face were the same. If she looked the same then why did she feel so different. Sighing into the mirror she knew that this was a question that wouldn't be answered so easily. Appearance wasn't what had changed her. Asahria had never fallen to peer pressure, not of that kind anyways. She considered herself well graced when it came to appearance, far from perfect, just well graced. Far many times had she been commented on to believe otherwise.
It was some other force at work that was causing her distress. The hard part was pin pointing that which had stowed away unwanted on her shoulders. She steadied her steely blue eyes on the mirror barely long enough to take in all of her features before she forced herself to pull her eyes away. Leaning against the counter, her hands grasping it's edge uncomfortably tight, she realized that standing before the mirror all night would do nothing for her restlessness. It certainly wouldn't do anything to solve her problems. At least this mirror wouldn't, the Mirror of Erised, might be able to do just that.
A slim smile crossed her lips as the thought came to mind. She had come across the room once or twice, during a few of her late night excursions. The mirror would show the beholder the object of their utmost desire. Even though the chances seemed slim the mirror of Erised seemed a better solvent than the one hanging in the bathroom, which would tell her nothing. Perhaps, it wasn't that she was different, but dazed and confused. Maybe, just maybe, she could gain what she had been looking for. Could the mirror even reflect her deepest desire if she wasn't sure of it herself? Shrugging her shoulders she dropped the thought, trying to face the situation with a hint of optimism. Asahria was quick to leave the bathroom, entering the dorm room her mind steadied on what she was about to do.
Pulling up the sleeves of her gray shirt, the muggle brand "Hollister" written in white across the front, up over her elbows she scanned the room. Momentarily her eyes fell on the open window. It was still winter, she could see the tendrils from the cold night air creeping upon the glass, leaving frost in their wake. Winter was one of her favorite seasons, if it weren't for her sudden determination to go to the mirror and the fact it was dark outside, she might have found herself on the grounds walking amongst the choking tendrils of ice. With a shrug of her shoulders, she pulled her eyes from the window, searching for a wand in the darkness. It was strange, she was the only one in the dorm, even at this late hour. Spotting her wand on the bedside table, she crossed to it, hurriedly grasping it in her hand before heading out the door.
The common room was empty, which seemed to be a commonality for the rouerie students. It was rare to find someone out of their room so late. Even still she slipped quietly through the common room, careful to make as little noise as possible. These late night outings were becoming very habitual for her, her sleep patterns completely off. In truth, sleep had become a rare commodity for her schedule. As she stepped from the common room, the change in air was nearly unsettling. No longer was the air warm and filled with the musky scent of burning wood, but it was cool and crisp, smelling of dust.
The corridor was dark, but not so much that she need turn to her wand for a source of light. Her bare feet were cold against the hard floor, the gentle patting of her footsteps the only viable sound around her. Asahria wasn't even sure if she could recall the exact location of the room, it had after all been by chance that she had found it the first two times. So she let herself wander almost aimlessly, but all the while casually watching for any familiar signs. Trying to entertain her cold fingers she tugged wistfully at the hem of her black shorts, curling her wand between her fingers. Usually she was one to complain about the cold, but on this night she found that it hardly bothered her. She felt better with her wand in hand, not that occasion called for it, but one with such undesirable luck as herself would be unlikely to go with out it.
Glancing about she realized she was in an empty corridor, the corridor which housed the mirror if she recalled correctly. Suddenly more sure-footed she walked down the hall towards the room which she sought. She could see the door in all it's simplicity and she knew this was the right place. As she drew closer though, she paused, the door was open. It hadn't been that way last time, had it? Right now it seemed as though she wasn't the only one who was looking for the mirrors company. Sighing deeply she stepped to the door peering through the slim opening, not surprised that she could see little. The darkness absorbing all the room's contents.Whispering her spell she flashed her wand before her, illuminating the path with light as she pushed herself through the slim opening in the door.

SOMETIMES I FIND IT HARD• to believe there's someone else who could be •JUST AS MESSED UP AS MEIt all started with a mirror. A simple mirror, nothing fancy about it, Roy contemplated as he looked at his reflection being bounced back from the one in the bathroom. He didn't quite know why he was spending so long in there just looking at himself, just watching, waiting. Roy scowled, turning to look back at the doorway that lead to his dorm room, blackness greeting him as he did so. It was at times like these he was glad he didn't have any dorm mates, it was always so quiet... of course that wasn't always the case, he did after all half have a room mate, though he never usually showed himself in person, not unless he took control of the alchemists body and start trying to ruin his life as usual. So it wasn't always quiet, and yet for some reason on this night it was. It was quiet, too quiet. Roy turned to look back at the mirror and stopped, his expression turning to surprise and almost horror. What was staring back at him was something he usually ended up having nightmares about. Of course this was bound to be a nightmare, it had to be. And yet this was the situation: it was Roy's reflection, yes, but apparently less human. His eyes had turned black, dead - a fish-eye'd kind of look, if you will. And his mouth had been turned upwards to become what appeared to be a cruel sneer.
He could only guess what that meant. Nova perhaps? Soon, Roy, soon... a dark whisper of a voice greeted him as the mirror image spoke. There is NO ESCAPE! the creature then roared at him, startling him further. "NO!" Roy yelled back. This wasn't happening, certainly not, he'd been trying to fight against the demon for a long time now, and he damn well wasn't going to give up, his body was going to remain his and he wasn't going to let some demon kill him off just so he could do whatever he wanted with his remains. "GO AWAY!" Roy had his eyes closed at this point, shaking slightly, tensed and unsure as to what to do. You're MINE, you weak fool! the darker version sneered from the mirror, finishing with a spine tingling laugh, that made Roy snap. Without another word, his eyes still closed, he pulled back his arm - his hand clenched in a fist and slammed it into the mirror, shattering it into a thousand tiny pieces. "You wont get your way, I'll see to that," Roy growled, opening his eyes as he looked upon what he did, and ignoring the pain in his hand as blood ran down his hand and the wall. "Stay away from me, Nova!"
And then he woke up. Quickly sitting up in his bed, panting and still panicked from the dream, he sat like that for a while, trying to get his bearings together. Was that a dream? He was in bed, so it had to be one. It certainly didn't feel like a dream or nightmare though, and knowing the demon there was probably more to things than what met the eye. Roy took a deep breath, feeling more calm, and raised his hand to wipe sweat from his forehead, and paused. There was blood running down his hand, still fresh, and there were several long shards of glass buried between his knuckles too. After seeing it, he winced in pain, and then realization dawned on him. Was it a dream or wasn't it? There was evidence to show now that something certainly did happen, but....
Taking care not to bash his hand against anything, he pulled his bed sheets off him and climbed out of bed, before quickly making his way to the bathroom. In there, he saw everything just the way it was before he went to bed. Even the mirror was in tact. He stopped in front of the sink, taking care to avoid looking directly at the mirror as if he expected something horrific to be staring back at him. It took a while, but he managed to remove the source of his physical pain, and ran it under cold water. Then he just grabbed a towel from the towel rack and decided to use it as a makeshift bandage, it would have to do for now as he had nothing else. After he did all that, he grabbed a glass from the side, poured water into it and downed it in one go. His mouth was dry, and it took him a long time to realize that under the circumstances.
Roy quickly made his way back into his room and then proceeded to throw some clothes on, which just consisted of a black shirt and jeans, nothing fancy since he was just eager for a walk and to get out of there. He needed some air, even if it was just from somewhere else in the school. A few minutes later he found himself walking briskly down some of the corridors that led away from the Sournois common rooms. Where was he going to go though? He hadn't worked that part of his plan out yet. At the moment it was dark and cold, but he barely even noticed, despite what he was currently wearing, and he just let his legs do the walking without even bothering to care about looking in front of him. By now he was very familiar with the routes of the place, so he would have been able to go places blind, which was almost like how things were now.
He walked down another hallway, and then tilted his head curiously as he saw a light in the distance, which seemed to combat the surrounding darkness. A wand light. But who could be out at this time of night? He let his curiosity get the better of him as he decided to follow it, to see where it led him, somewhere interesting enough to take his mind off tonight's events, he strongly hoped. Roy continued to follow it, but then stopped when the light seemed to vanish as it entered a room. He looked towards the door, just barely recognizing it in the darkness: the Mirror of Erised. His mouth twitched up in a slight smirk, the first one of the night, things seemed to be looking up for him, but what was the person doing in there? He knew people normally went into there to gaze upon the enchanted mirror, to see their wildest dreams even if it was only a reflection and what probably wouldn't come true, but why was the person coming here so late at night? He'd have to see for himself.
Slowly, he squeezed himself through the doorway, being careful not to make a sound, and once again stopped when he saw it was a girl. Her wand was still glowing so he could just make out the long blonde hair, and that was basically it, he was looking at her from behind after all. Moving further in, and this time not caring if he made a sound, he circled the person a little, and then surprise once again came to him. "Asahria? Is that you?" he asked. It had been a long time since he last saw her, and she didn't seem to have changed at all. "Fancy meeting you in a place like this." He gave her a grin, becoming more relaxed as he stood there. Well here was someone who was bound to take his mind off of demonic nightmares and his current towel bound injury. "What are you doing here at this time?" he then asked, putting his hurt hand behind his back as he casually observed her.

Allowing herself one last cautious glance, her eyes skimmed the empty hallway before sliding into the room. The darkness was suffocating, dimming even the cast of her wand, barely allowing her eyes to adjust. The room was just as she remembered bare and worn with time. It held no particular magnificence except for it was home to a piece of rare magic, the mirror of erised. Ornate and elegant, the mirror would show its beholder their deepest desires. This place had haunted her dreams over the past months, teasing her with the things she’d lost. She’d heard tell that this particular item of magic had driven some insane and Asahria didn’t doubt it was without good reason. It was eerie standing her now, in the room with the very mirror which had taunted her so endlessly. There was a time when the image in the mirror had only offered promise. She hadn’t realized how easy she’d had it then. A family intact, a boy she’d cared for deeply and had done so in return. That was all gone now. Suddenly Asahria was finding herself hesitant. She’d been avoiding her reflection for months, afraid of what she’d see there.
This mirror would not only show her hurt and pain. She suddenly wasn’t sure that she wanted to see what was housed in that reflection. What if it was an image of her mother, proud and tender? That would only serve as heartbreak all over again. She was not stupid, her mother was dead. In her death she had taken whatever promise there had ever been of being accepted. Asahria had never been good enough for her mother. She’d been an outcast if anything. She’d tried so hard. Asahria couldn’t bear the thought of that reflection. What if it were an image of the love she’d once had? Shaking her head Asahria decided she couldn’t bear that image either. She couldn’t gaze upon the face she’d left behind and had run away in turn. It had been answers she sought, but now that she was standing in this cold barren room she was afraid of what that image might hold. Biting her lip Asahria curled her arms around herself, wishing she’d thought to wear something warmer than shorts. Coming here had been a mistake; she could barely face her own reflection. She’d dammed up all her desires and now she wasn’t ready to lift the flood gates and let them wash over her.
Her gaze turned towards the door, but her feet did not follow. While the immense number of possibilities frightened her a small part of her wanted to know. What did she truly desire most? Even know she couldn’t be sure of it. So much had happened in the past months, Asahria couldn’t truly decide what was real and what was not, what was desire and what was simply confusion. She’d been different since returning and Asahria was sure she wasn’t the only one who’d noticed it. Playing coy, venturing off into the forest without a second though, all so she could feel something. She’d become so dead inside that she’d become reckless. Or maybe she wasn’t just coping; maybe this is what it took to shake the ice from her heart - to let some of the warmth back inside. With her eyes on the ground she stepped towards the mirror, not ready to meet her reflection. She wanted to be able to separate reality from fiction. To know if she had been truly living a lie even if it would only serve to break her.
Inhaling deeply Asahria settled herself, breathing out a heavy sigh. She’d have to face it sooner or later. She felt her hands tighten against her arms as her cornflower gaze traveled up the length of the mirror, finally settling on the features of her face just as they had been in her own mirror. When nothing appeared at first, she found herself concerned. Did she have no desires? It didn’t seem right to think she’d given up completely, but maybe the mirror recognized that she was beginning to longer care. She felt relief as another image began to take shape in the mirror, a dark shape approaching from behind her. Her eyes focused on the figure slowly closing the distance as he took form in the mirror beside her. Confusion took hold as her mind tried to place the face, handsome stark jaw with a dark, steady gaze. It had not been the image she’d expected, nor would have ever. She knit her brows in confusion at the face which was slowly taking form in her mind.
Moments passed with her there in confusion before she heard the gentle tap of footsteps. Whipping around quickly, blonde hair trailing at her shoulders she came face to face with the boy that had been there in her refection. Oh god… She startled, nearly falling into him in her surprise. With the mirror now behind her and clarity again reaching her senses she immediately recognized the face in front of her. Roy Mustang. You nearly gave me a heart attack. She continued swiftly before he’d even had the chance to speak. It’s been ages since she’d seen the boy, one of her very first acquaintances here at Beauxbatons. After giving herself a moment to settle her breathing she nodded in response to his words, before finally finding the voice to answer him aloud. None other. She laughed, feeling unnerved yet relieved at the same time. He’d saved her from whatever had truly awaited her in the glass, but then had similarly humiliated her. I must say, yours was not the face I expected to see in the mirror mister Mustang. She teased, grateful for his presence albeit slightly shaken.
Fancy, indeed. It was rather curious that she had come across such an old acquaintance at this time of night and in this barren room of all places. It wasn’t a popular destination.Honestly, I don’t really know what I’m doing here. It was the truth, she’d had some idea earlier in the night, but thinking on it she didn’t know what answers the mirror could offer her. As she knew the image would only hold despair. It was a comfort to be in the presence of an old friend. I was looking for something I guess, but I found you instead. She smiled, glad for the opportunity to let her mind fall away from the mirror. And I must say you’re just as handsome as I remember. Do tell me though… how was it you happened upon me at such a late hour?

SOMETIMES I FIND IT HARD• to believe there's someone else who could be •JUST AS MESSED UP AS MEAs he had approached he had a sense that something was up, that she seemed wary or afraid for some reason, as if he was some creature from the darkness sneaking up on her from behind. Oh wait, that did rather seem similar to the scenario that was playing out now. At the very least it was dark, and in the light of her wand he was giving off pretty big shadows that would make anyone on edge had they been paying attention to that aspect of his sneaking. It wasn't as if he wasn't making no sound at all though, after all, he wasn't a vampire or ghost, and remaining soundless despite having demon aspects wasn't one of his strong suits. No, that wasn't it at all. And as a reminder, his eyes flicked towards the mirror that was looming at the end of the room. It was quite far away from where he was standing, but he could still see his reflection in it - a dark shadow, that was basically all he saw, but he was sure that the person in front of him could see clearer than he did, and what she was seeing was obviously forcing her into a state of shock. Or at least that was from his view point; he could only see the back of her, long blond her, slim figure, somewhat smaller than him (which wasn't really hard as he was quite tall himself), all this registered with him, and even her scent, yes, he was quite sure she was whom he thought. Asahria. No doubt about it.
Roy was looking back and forth between the girl and the mirror, taking care not to stare at the latter in case it showed something to him, and seeing as he had a demon problem as bad as it was, he was afraid that what appeared in the glass wouldn't be anything he wanted, but would instead be the deepest, most darkest desires of Nova. World domination, being the most likely ideal of his. Roy half snorted, stopping both that and his trail of thought when suddenly the girl quickly whirled around and almost stumbled into him. He was quite sturdy after all, so had she actually bumped into him, she most likely would have just bounced off. She caught herself before that happened though, which was a relief. He didn't really make a habit of catching females before they hit the ground. Mind you, it had been a while since he last did that. He had to stop himself from losing himself in thought again as she spoke to him, quite quickly gaining her composure too, which was quite impressive seeing the way she had initially been so startled.
"You nearly gave me a heart attack."
Roy couldn't help but smirk at that, moving his arms to cross them across his chest - his injured one hidden under his other arm - and tilted his head to the side in a contemplative manner. So she remembered him, huh? Well, then again, why wouldn't she? They met ages ago, after all. She had pretty much started at the school and he was... pretty much the same arrogant Sournois he was back then, maybe with more modesty now than he had back then, anyway. Or at least that's what he thought, there was something different about him now anyway, though he wasn't too sure how many other people would agree. "I'd have thought anyone would be honored to catch a glimpse of me in a mirror as grand as this," he replied, his voice sounding light and joking, hoping that his tone wasn't as obnoxious as his words. His smirk remained as he stepped around her and walked a couple steps towards the mirror. His eyes narrowed slightly at it for a second or two, before he averted his gaze and spun round to address Asahria again. "Sorry if the shock of me randomly appearing almost killed you though. Better me than some other random icky monster that might be lurking the corridors."
Wait, did he just categorize himself as a monster? Nah, maybe she would have heard it differently from what it apparently sounded like. Maybe. As she spoke he nodded solemnly at her answer. Seemed legit, somehow. He felt the same way about coming down here. Of course he did follow the light of her wand down the corridor, but what made him curious enough to come here of all places? He hadn't actually been down here in years. Perhaps it had something to do with the dream he had prior to this meeting of theirs? Maybe he had some kind of inkling that the mirror might help him with what it actually meant. But then again, this wasn't that kind of mirror. This one simply showed your wildest dreams and ambitions, even if they weren't ever to come true, as sometimes unrealistic as they may be, and he had a strong feeling that if he was to gaze upon it that besides if it showed what his demon associate wanted, that his own dreams would be quite far fetched too. "Ah, well..." he started in his explanation, wondering exactly how much he should tell her. To most people his problems would seem quite rediculous, even in a world filled with magic like this one. Hell, he didn't quite remember if Asahria was aware of his counterpart either, so he decided to leave anything related to that out of this conversation. After meeting her again in such a long time, the last thing he wanted was for her to look at him like he was crazy, as a lot of people who didn't know him probably would. "I couldn't quite sleep, so a night time walk seemed to be in order." He struggled to smile after that, but succeeded anyway, as forced as it looked. Needing a change of subject, and unable to find much else in a room empty of all but two people and the single object in the room, he turned on the mirror. "An interesting item isn't it?" he asked quietly, his brow furrowing slightly at it, praying that it wouldn't show anything in the shadow of his reflection just yet. "I don't suppose you'd be able to tell me what you see in it? If not, that's fine. I'm pretty sure that you see yourself as headgirl and being successful at everything, which wouldn't surprise me." He chuckled as he gave her a quick sideglance. Yes, she really did seem like she'd be the top of her class at everything, unlike him of course who rarely showed up at lessons despite being appointed headboy.[/blockquote][/blockquote] TAGGED ! asahria <3 WORDS ! 1113 OUTFIT ! Asahria felt herself relax after finding herself in familiar company. It had been sometime since she’d found herself in Roy’s company, but an air of familiarity was enough to bring her some shred of comfort. For a time shed been afraid to seek out those she’d left behind, though in all honesty she wasn’t even sure that Roy knew anything of her absence. It hadn’t really been understated though; she’d given up her position as head girl after all. Asahria was afraid that upon her return she’d have no one left to turn too, as she’d left them behind without so much as a word. Since her return, she’d been met with nothing but welcome arms, but a certain pair was missing. It’s been hard to get back into the mainstream. She’d never been one to open up to others. The one person she’d allowed that small treasure had forgotten her and that in itself had been enough to break her. She’d left him, because she was afraid to open herself up all over again. What if this time he wasn’t so accepting, or if this time he didn’t care? She was worried that it’d be the case with everyone. It was comforting to know that others were so willing to let her back in, maybe she was the one holding herself back.
That sounds very much like an inflated ego, sir. Asahria laughed, watching as he crossed her arms against his chest. She thought that his hand had been wrapped, but she’d only glanced it. She wouldn’t bother him with silly questions; she’d probably imagined it as it were. Not that I don’t enjoy your company or anything, but really, you fancy yourself among my deepest desires. She said coyly, raising a brow in his direction. I’m afraid that time had addled that brain of yours. She considered Roy to be in her close circle, even if time had drawn them apart. He was one of her first, if not her very first friend here at Beauxbatons. She was more likely to share her thoughts with him than most. She knew that she could count on Roy regardless the issue at hand, but what she enjoyed most about him was that he always made her find the light in a situation.
ISome icky monster? She smiled, shrugging her shoulders. I doubt you could be worse than anything else I’ve encountered. Best friend a vampire, dated a werewolf… It’s like I come out of one of those cheesy television dramas. The thought was enough to make her laugh. Asahria seemed to have a habit in surrounding herself with what others might seem as unseemly companions. Her mother might have withdrawn her had she known, but there was a reason Asahria had never spoke of her friends. Her family was uncomfortable enough with her schooling as it were. Though you’re right. I shouldn’t complain. Glad you aren’t some monster here to nab me in the night.
She contemplated him as he spoke, wondering what it was that had been nagging at his mind. That always seemed to be the case when she chanced across someone in this room. It seemed to be a place of contemplation. The mirror couldn’t really give them the answers they were looking for, but it could at least diminish the pain for a while. That’s why they sought what it reflected back at them. While it wasn’t likely that she could have what lay in the mirror’s reflection, she could at least pretend for a time. If interesting is even the right term. It seems a bit silly, doesn’t it? That allow such a simple item to have such influence? She slowed herself a smile, but faltered a bit when he asked her what she saw in its reflection. He wasn’t wrong. She missed being Head Girl, she missed everything she had before she’d left, but she didn’t suppose that would be the image she saw.
Honestly, you startled me before I could have a proper look. I’d like to think that myself as Head Girl would be the image I saw, but I don’t think that’s likely. She stated simply, wringing her hands together uncomfortably. She wasn’t sure how much Roy knew, or even cared for that matter. It was a subject that kept coming up, no matter how far she tried to stray from it. I’m not sure what would be there honestly. I’m a bit scared to look. Maybe my mother, Charlton perhaps. She shrugged uselessly, knowing that either image would hurt as much as the next. Or maybe just her being happy, but that too seemed so far out of reach. What about you, Roy? She didn’t know him well enough to know what to expect and she wondered is she was pressing her limits in asking.

SOMETIMES I FIND IT HARD• to believe there's someone else who could be •JUST AS MESSED UP AS MEIt really was rather relaxing being around Asahria again after so long, though maybe the silence of the school also helped slightly towards the relaxed atmosphere. But still, she was most likely one of his oldest friends - he doubted he'd come across many others in the building he'd known as long as her. Yes, it had been so long, he was actually surprised she recognized him as the same person she knew ages ago. He figured that he had changed a bit, due to time and experiences, those kinds of things changed a person. And yet here she was, the same as she'd always been, perhaps a little taller or a little flushed after coming across what could have been a serial killer for all she knew, but she didn't appear to have been changed in any way, which was perfect for him. He dreaded the thought of returning and yet finding everything and everyone entirely different from the way he had left it. It left him with a slight contented feeling in his chest, which he tried not to show on the way he was presenting himself to Asahria.
Roy couldn't help but smirk slightly at her words. An inflated ego? Yes, quite. He used to be more arrogant and egotistic, but if he wasn't that these days, then what was he? Either way, his words seemed to contain a bit of what he once was, which made him feel a bit more settled inside. Yes he was afraid of everyone else being different to whom they were, but he was afraid of that happening to himself most of all. Maybe that was partially what the dream that woke him up was about, perhaps it wasn't entirely about the demon but how he was afraid of change. Who'd have thought. Well he'd work the parts of that out later, for now he had to focus on the present and not the dreaded things to come which would probably occur when he left the room. "Yeah, I admit that was a bit obnoxious of me,"
he agreed, nodding at her presumption. "No, I'm sure there's other people you have your eye on, that you see yourself with in the long run going far... who knows who far when you look into the mirror though." He cocked an eyebrow coyly at her. Yes he figured that she probably had someone, though he didn't know who as he had never met the person before. Naturally someone of Asahria's standing wouldn't remain quite so single for very long anyway. He lowered his hands to his sides as he moved to lean against one of the walls of the room, almost opposite the mirror now. He was sure in all due time it would eventually come up in conversation and he didn't want to be standing too far from it should that have been the case. He had to face it sooner or later, maybe it wouldn't be as bad as he expected? After all, there were two people inside this body, not just the demon. He had his own dreams and aspirations and figured that as long as he remained in control his own dreams would appear instead of the bloodshed that would probably occur within his reflection should his counterpart appear. Roy's brow furrowed as he rubbed his arm slightly, the towl was apparently agitating the wound, maybe a trip to the nurse's office was in order soon, but it wasn't really enough to tear him away from a conversation with an old friend just yet. Hell, they hadn't even been talking for ten minutes. It would be rude to just get up and go because of one little scratch. He felt rather satisfied after thinking that little notion through and decided to follow through with it. Most likely as well, he'd have to return to his dorm room sooner if he went to get his arm seen too, and he didn't want to go back to face that mess just yet. "Some icky monster? I doubt you could be worse than what I've encountered."Just hearing those words made a loud chuckle escape him. "I admit that a lot of people here could have escaped from a horror story. But I-" He stopped before he could continue. Should he continue that sentance? He didn't even know if she knew the truth, it's been years, so it was possible it came up in conversation once or twice before, right? "Well, let's just say that there's worse things than vampires and werewolves." Roy's blue, almost black, eyes shone slightly at that, but quickly returned to normal as he turned his attention back to the mirror. "I may not quite be one of those monsters you speak of, but there's things that attend the school that not even I enjoy crossing paths with." He looked thoughtful for the moment, then he quickly glanced at Asahria and grinned. My, wasn't he a bipolar bundle of emotions today? "Yeah, apparently people can drive themselves crazy with this thing. I'm not sure why, doesn't especially look like a special mirror. There's probably worse ones out there too, like ones that suck souls and stuff. That's the beauty of things in this world, there's always something worse than what you look or think of." He stepped several steps closer to the mirror, examining it's interior, it's shape, basically anything but the glass itself. "Oh!" Realization hit him at her words and he wheeled around on her. "I forgot. You were Head Girl before, right? Or maybe I didn't forget, I don't think I was around back then..." He frowned as he really tried to remember, but then couldn't in the end. "But what's that like? Head Girl I mean? I mean, being Head Boy is one thing, but to be a girl while doing it? Well now, that's bound to be a different experience entirely!" His eyes went huge for the moment as he stood there watching her expectantly. "Just messing with you." He stood up straight again, giving her a relaxed smile. "Ah, those things huh? Interesting. I assume this Charlton person is your boyfriend or love interest or something...?" he inquired, nodding in understanding. She turned his question upon him then, and once more he looked thoughtful. "Well now, I suppose that's a tricky question when you're on the receiving end of it.." he murmured. "I suppose this is only theoretical though since neither of us are actually looking at the mirror. If so... perhaps Yuki..." Mhmm. Yes, more than likely he was suspecting. And he had a strong suspicion she knew who Yuki was too so he didn't need to explain anything. "Oh, and I'd love to be Führer one day too. But that's probably a long time thing and wouldn't ever happen..." He half coughed in embarrassment. It had been a dream of his since he was a kid, and to have an army of female soldiers in mini skirts... but she didn't have to know that. It would have been a prime example of the type of guy who put that kind of female up on a pedestal and, well.... just no one needed to know that if they didn't share the same mindset he did! "Ahaha, I guess it's safer not to look after all. Don't want scary things to appear instead of what you hope." Roy then said, nervously laughing as he walked away from the mirror to stand beside her instead. So in a bid to change the subject he proclaimed loudly, "So! Any of your werewolf or vampire friends eat humans? He looked half serious as he watched her. He was pretty sure that she was going to start thinking he was crazy soon. It happened all the time, so he didn't particularly mind. Much.[/blockquote][/blockquote] TAGGED ! asahria <3 WORDS ! 1301 OUTFIT ! CLICK LYRICS ! sometimes by skillet TEMPLATE ! PANIC! ITS LAUZ @ CAUTION NOTES ! weird as usual~ xD

Asahria shifted, following Roy’s lead in taking a place against the wall. While she was glad for his presence, she was further grateful for her distraction from the ornately carved mirror. She craved the reflection – she wanted to know what image awaited her in the dark glass, but a large part of her was afraid she would see something she’d never be able to have again. Her mother was gone and there were no hopes of ever stitching together a relationship with her, seeing that image would only serve her unbecoming bitterness. Then Charlton, she was afraid his image would only serve to break him. She’d already lost him one too many times and she didn’t think her heart could bear that pain again – for even stepping away from his reflection would be too much. Asahria managed a smile when Roy next spoke, admitting to being obnoxious. At least you can recognize it. You are a step ahead most. She didn’t think her words to be untrue. She’d a tendency for surrounding herself with the Sournois crowd and more often they served her the same pretentious attitude – the only difference was that they didn’t seem to realize it. She shied from his coy smile and offered a mere shrug of the shoulders at her statement. He was more right than she’d like to acknowledge and she wasn’t ready to walk down that road quite yet. Though I’m sure catching a glimpse of your handsome face in this mirror would cause anyone regret.
Asahria watched as his gaze turned on the mirror and she let out a brief sigh, knowing that it was inevitable for them both. It wasn’t often that one found this place at random; usually one came here with a purpose. She had, she just wasn’t ready to face it now that she’d met it. Asahria wondered if Roy had a purpose too. Regardless, now that they were in its wake it wasn’t likely that they were to leave without knowing. She only hoped that whatever lie in his reflection was more comforting than what she was sure to be in her own. Her blue eyes narrowed with concern when his brows suddenly furrowed, his attention pulled away from the room in which they were standing. Her gaze traced the movement of his arm which carefully rubbed the other. Asahria shifted herself so she could get a better view and she was suddenly able to recognize something she’d not seen in the entirety of their meeting. Roy! She accused. What did you do to your arm? It took every nerve not to reach in and grab it, but she didn’t want to cause him further discomfort. Is that blood? Why are you just standing here letting that bleed into a towel? She narrowed her eyes at him crossing her arms across her chest. It wasn’t likely that Roy was going to find her intimidating as no one ever did, instead they most often chose to compare her to the likes of a porcelain doll, but she wasn’t going to just stand here as he willingly let himself bleed out. We should go to the hospital wing, or at least let me see if it’s something I can help with. She wasn’t specifically trained, but she done well enough in all her classes.
She settled more when Roy turned to conversation, but she didn’t leave her place, it was unlike her to stop worrying and he was a friend after all. While his words were said in jest Asahria was sure there was some underlying message he was prescribing. She was sure there was something else about Roy, but it wasn’t something she could place. She laughed slightly when he spoke of people barely escaping horror stories here at the school and she knew his words couldn’t be further from the truth. As much as she loved them, it didn’t serve to make them any less dangerous. Holden, her closest friend, had come close to changing her. She shuddered slightly at the recollection, she didn’t think she would handle herself well as a vampire. The thought of change scared her more often than not. I’ll keep that in mind. She said simply, unsure of how to respond to his words, deciding finally just to take them as a warning. It was a bit unnerving that he was pushing such a subject and while she was curious she wasn’t about to ask him to divulge. You are certainly the optimist today, She said with a laugh, flipping her blond curls over her shoulder as she let her illuminated wand rest on the windowsill. Though I suppose I should be thankful this one only haunts us with desires and doesn’t suck out our souls. Now I’ll be wary of every mirror I come across. She said playfully, though knowing inside it was partially true.
Asahria stepped aside as he neared the mirror, examining from his place. She noticed that his gaze was intent on anything but the glass itself and it made her wonder why he too, was avoiding his reflection. Asahria nodded at his next words, confirming her position as head girl, but quickly rolled her eyes as he continued. You really are ridiculous. You do know that right! She scoffed, her voice gentle and playful. But seriously I’m sure it’s no different. I had a half a mind hit you, but then I remembered your arm. Of course, she hadn’t been intending to hit him, well not with intent for harm, only in jest but the wrap on is arm had her concerned. She desperately wanted to ask what had happened, but bit her tongue. If Roy wanted her to know than he would tell her, she couldn’t pry.
Interesting. I assume this Charlton person is your boyfriend or love interest or something...?" Asahria froze when his name fell from Roy’s lips. It had come from hers so effortlessly, but hearing it from someone else caused her heart to stop. There was a lot that the Roy and Asahria had missed in one another’s lives and it was apparent this was just one of many. How could she ever properly explain what Charlton meant to her, she wasn’t even sure she knew herself. He used to be… She said trailing off, though it felt belittling to place him under such terms. He had been so much more than that. Charlton hadn’t been a love interest, he had been the one she loved. Actually he was much more than that, but I let him slip away. She said, her eyes shying towards the door. Suddenly gazing into the mirror seemed too much and she wasn’t sure she’d be able to do it. She was glad when he turned the conversation back to himself, allowing her to gain control of her breath and let her heart fall back into a steady pattern. Oh right, Yuki? What of you too. She asked curiously. Yuki was another f her close friends here and she’d always known of the two, but had never known them to make anything of it She laughed again when he mentioned another possible reflection. You’ve set your sight high, though I’ll tell you – you won’t be getting anywhere if you don’t get that arm fixed up
Asahria nodded at Roy’s statement. Perhaps both of them would be better off staying clear of the reflection. She settled against the wall once more as he moved away from the mirror. It was so hard to take him seriously sometimes. Well, I’m still here so that’s a start. She said with a smile, Though I couldn’t tell you what they do in their free time.

SOMETIMES I FIND IT HARD• to believe there's someone else who could be •JUST AS MESSED UP AS MERoy's gaze followed her as she came up to lean on the wall beside him, looking as though she was quite lost in her thoughts, which was a habit Roy himself had began to fall into these days. That was the trouble with being in this room; it made you think of the past and future, as much as you really didn't want to. Everyone tended to come here for one reason or another anyway, mainly to reflect what was shown back at him in the mirror. It was troublesome though. He hadn't came here for so long, mainly because he didn't think to. Hell, he preferred not to think of the past and future these days, both seemed so painful to think of, so he simply stuck to the present and the trials he'd have to endure there. Turning back to the girl beside him, he tilted his head slightly and grinned. "I don't usually admit it. I like to think my actions and ego speak for themselves."
He feigned the sound of being smug in his voice. Truthfully though, he was less prideful than he used to be. Really, was that the case? It was a strange thought as it had crossed his mind before. Instead things related to him had grown a bit tragic and he could barely hold himself together on most days. He managed it swimmingly though, so long as the demon left him alone, which was rarely the case. "Really? Regret?" He couldn't help but laugh loudly at that. "Why d'you say that? Although I'm quite sure I wouldn't be the source of anyone's contemplation in the mirror. No, I'm sure it'll be because I'd be lurking behind them like I did with you, just ready and willing to give them a fright. Eventually I would be what someone's boggart would change into." Heh, that would be quite amusing, though quite possibly untrue. He wasn't cruel enough to torment everyone who walked through these hallowed halls. As for the boggart thing... maybe Nova would give people a reason to be frightened, but as for him? Naw, he was quite the puppy. He liked to think so anyway, but then that was just his thoughts running off on one again. To him he might appear cute and charming but to the next person he could be nothing but a jackass. Who could tell really? He couldn't, at the very least. Roy leaned back further against the wall, enjoying the cool feeling of the stone through his shirt. He couldn't help but feel a tad relaxed at the moment despite the strange things that occurred tonight. It was good to catch a break now and again, after all. "Hmm?" Casting her another look, he frowned as he caught her staring at something. "What-" He was about to ask her why but then quickly stopped as he figured it out a second or two later. Crap. Blue eyes slowly lowered towards his arm before flicking up to meet Asahria's again. He'd been unknowingly and carelessly moving his arms around, which he'd previously told himself he shouldn't as soon as he came across another midnight wanderer like this one. He'd just been too caught up in talking that he didn't even remember the towel hanging limply on his arm, hell it was probably even half falling off. Towel's weren't exactly bandages after all, and didn't especially hold too well when being wrapped around something, especially if it wasn't being held there at all times. "This is... well..." What could he really tell her in a situation like this? There did seem to be a lot of blood, from what appeared to be numerous cut marks. She wasn't going to think she self harmed himself would she? And then she'd start thinking he was crazy and then... Well, he was already half way towards crazy anyway, and after tonight it was certain that he'd be sent one way towards the loony bin. Oh hell, he really needed to stop thinking to himself, such things were dead giveaways about his current mental state. What could he really say under the heat of the panicked look she was giving him? "It's fine. Really. Just a... scratch," he said feebly as he tried, once again, to cover the towel over it to no avail. Yay for randomly bleeding everywhere; he was actually surprised he had so much of it. It was genuinely a miracle after the number of accidents that happened to him at this school, and after how much blood of his was spilt, that he was still alive and well. For the most part. "Relax Asa! I might go afterwards, so it's fine! ...depending on whether I faint or not by that time, of course." He finished with a slight chuckle, though almost instantly regretting the words leaving his mouth as he finished speaking them. She was bound to drag him off to the Hospital Wing now. Why'd he have to open his mouth... it really was too big sometimes. Then something else she said perked his interest. "Of course you could give it a whirl if you want to work your magic here, though I don't want to trouble you any. This kind of thing happens all the time." Roy sounded perky as he spoke, too perky. Maybe he was becoming a masochist or something. As the conversation had been steered safely away from the subject of a certain someone bleeding to death, he noticed that she also seemed particularly uncomfortable talking about talking about strange happenings at the school. He knew better than to generally force the subject though, it wasn't especially one he was fond of brooding over either. Heck, he was even quite pleasantly surprised that Nova hadn't butted in yet. As that thought crossed his mind he made very sure that his contentment was shoved way down, he didn't want the demon to sense anything besides Roy's unbridled misery, which was apparently what the creature loved the most. He certainly wouldn't interrupt when something like that was going on. No, it was his happiness he liked to disrupt the most, though at the moment he wasn't quite sure what he should be feeling. "Optimist you say?" Well that was something new. "I suppose you could be right, though by your tone of voice I figure that you realize it must be one of those very few days I show such spirit," he added, another amused grin appearing on his lips. "Otherwise, I actually like the idea of soul sucking mirrors. Kinda makes this world seem more interesting when there's crazy objects like that floating around." It was quite hard to look at the glass of the mirror when it was that big - a lot larger than his bathroom mirror, actually, but he managed it somehow. "Ridiculous? Yes, plenty have described me as such," Roy agreed, mumbling slightly as if deep in thought, before half turning to glance at her. "Oh, you're welcome to hit me if you'd like. I have had more than one injury inflicted upon me at any given time before. Here, break my other arm if you'd like." Roy released his injured arm, as he was unknowingly clenching it with his free hand again, and with that one arm pretended to reach for her. His dark blue, almost black, eyes shone with playfulness as he did so. "I promise not to scream, Miss Ryek~" Was it him or did his voice sound a bit... off now? The demon? Roy struggled not to scowl at these thoughts, trying not to make it seem like yet another thing was wrong with him. Man was he ever filled with problems. "Ahaha... just ignore that last part. Anyway..." He could feel a small bead of sweat trickle down his forehead. Things were seeming a bit too weird now, more weird than usual at least. There it was. Out of everything they had talked about, that was the main thing that seemed to stop her in her tracks, never mind everything else. "Oh..." He really must have been gone for a long time. He didn't realize Asahria actually had a love interest, let alone actually loving someone. It made him curious as to what happened, he generally had quite a few questions, but from her initial reaction he realized that would have been a massive mistake. She seemed quite happy to change the subject away from that onto other things, and yet... Well, he decided to let it drop for now. It wasn't as if he was such a great guru on successful relationships anyway. He knew exactly what it meant to love and lose a person. Sadly, that only brought one person to mind, the thought of whom always made him grimace. "It's... hard to say, I suppose..." he started, then pausing slightly to give what he was about to say next more thought. "It's actually quite a long story. First he vanishes and apparently divorce papers I didn't know about were involved and... well, I can't wrap my head around it myself. Things are kinda weird, but better now at least." Roy sounded faintly satisfied as he spoke that. He hadn't actually spoken to anyone about this subject before - and Nova wasn't especially very helpful when they spoke either - and he was curious to hear Asahria's input, not that she needed to give any. She clearly had relationship situations of her own, and he was never one to look to others for help. Roy cocked an eyebrow as she mentioned his arm again. "It isn't broken, so I'm pretty sure I wont need to get it amputated." He smirked at that. "I should at least still have the strength to wave a wand, unless that empties out the rest of the blood in my body." Roy pretended to stumble to the side a bit, as if he was about to fall over, then stopped and stood up straight. "Naw. No injury is gonna stop me from doing what I want to, eventually," he said finally, determination showing through in his expression. He casually spun around and away from the mirror again - always on the move was Mr. Mustang - almost as if he was drunk, and stepped towards her again. "You sure you're not some kinda creature like a vampire or the boogey man yourself? It seems like I've missed quite a lot of things with you lately, god really knows if you're some kind of creature yourself now." His tone was back to teasing again. It was interesting, he hadn't actually acted this playful with anyone in a while now. Was he becoming something like his old self? He certainly hoped so.[/blockquote][/blockquote] TAGGED ! asahria <3 WORDS ! 1785 OUTFIT ! CLICK LYRICS ! sometimes by skillet TEMPLATE ! PANIC! The longer she found herself in his company, the more she was finding she was glad for his distraction. While Asahria was sure she would have welcomed any distraction, it was comforting that she’d found it in a friend. Though time and space had separated them she didn’t feel uneasy in Roy’s presence. She had plagued herself with worry, thinking that every person she came across would be different. That the conversations would be strained and uncomfortable, but here in this room she was finding that she’d been wrong. Conversation with Roy was coming easily, just as it always had. She admonished herself, knowing full and well that her expectations had only been born from her pessimistic nature. It seemed that even still she believed that negativity would conquer all else. Not only did she have a habit of jumping to the worst of conclusions, but she acted as if they were truth themselves. That in itself was why she’d fled Beauxbatons – she’d let her mind succumb to the absolute worst possibilities. It was nice to know that she could bury some of those thoughts, that not everything was so dark as she was expecting. Things had to turn for her eventually, but she knew she was to stubborn to accept it. She prepared herself for the worst, anything lesser wouldn’t hurt so much. Well I suppose that has always been the case, glad to see that you’ve not changed. I was worried everything else might have gone and left me behind. She admitted, her smile shy as she met his own. It had been a small admittance, but one that had worried her all the same.
I only mean that one couldn’t regret having come across such a handsome face, even had they lost it. She teased, her finger jabbing playfully at his side. There are many things I regret in life, but meeting you wouldn’t classify as one of them. Of course, it would not be Roy’s face that she saw in the mirror, but it didn’t change the notion behind her words. Regardless of what lie in that reflection, she knew it wouldn’t be something that she regretted. If anything, it would only be something she could be envious of. Envious of the part of herself that once held that image dear. Don’t sell yourself short, Roy. I’m sure you’ve stolen a few hearts in your time. The two had never been close in that manner, but in their time here she’d seen the way girls would swoon after him. This place was full of it, there were shards of broken hearts scattered all across the floors – she knew because somewhere hers were lying among them. It seemed that everyone had a role in heartbreak, whether they’d meant to or not. She laughed as he continued, the thought of a boggart turning resembling her friend amusing. I’ve ran into a boggart or two and I’d say I’ve seen much more terrifying things than your face. She said, turning her blue eyes on his features. Though you really shouldn’t make a habit of sneaking up on people like that, or you might actually give someone a heart attack.
Drawing her eyes from his face they fell on his arm, her gaze becoming more intent as she noticed the rag hanging limply at his side, soaked red in color. As he began to speak, her eyes darted to his own, silencing him with her glare. She sighed hesitantly as his eyes lowered down to his arm, his face panicked as he searched for an answer. This is well… what? What is it Roy? She asked, her soft voice a bit more forceful as she spoke. Do you really have no concern for your own well being? She admonished, her slim fingers reaching out to grab his arm. She bit her lip hesitantly, realizing that he’d wrapped the gash on his arm with a towel. Leave it to a male to fix himself up with a towel as though there were no better solution to be offered. It was frustrating really. She was stubborn herself, this she knew, but the males in her life seemed to have a tendency of thinking that nothing could harm them. She’d spent all her years here being treated like a child, accused of being weak, but at least she’d managed to take care of herself. All the bloody males she knew couldn’t seem to keep their noses out of trouble. It would seem they needed more protection than herself most days. She couldn’t fathom what he’d done, but the fact that the towel was soaked in the crimson of his blood gave her cause for concern.
This She admonished him, pointing her finger at the deep gash in his arm is not a scratch. This is really deep, Roy Her words lost their fiery undercurrent and instead became soft with worry as she rose her blue eyes up to meet his, his arm still resting in the palm of her hand. She scoffed at his next words, he really wasn’t going to give up so easily, but then neither was she. Not afterwards. Either you go now, or you let me do something. Though it’ll likely not do as well anything the healers can do. She knew she’d be able to help, though she knew she didn’t have the mastery of the skills that the hospital wing could do for him. She’d been taking classes, but she was still just a student after all. If he chose her help over theirs, she would do it, because she wasn’t about to let him walk away with his arm bleeding like it was. You’re not any trouble, really? I just want to make sure you are alright. Still worried she pulled her hand away. She had a natural tendency to worry over others, often more so than she worried over herself. She hoped that he realized that his acknowledgement of this happening all of the time didn’t make her feel any better, if anything it only made her more worried for him. He couldn’t be walking around with sever blood loss all the time. This is why I worry over people like I do. She admitted, settling herself against the wall.
You’re awful really. She said, rolling her eyes as she gently shoved his shoulder. Besides I doubt I could break your arm if I tried. She smiled making a show of her slim fingers. I doubt there is much I could do that would cause you any harm. Besides casting a spell on you or some such. She said with a smile. But knowing me, you probably know that that too is very unlikely. Though she had a temper, not many had been present for its appearance. Asahria had always held a place as one of Beauxbatons sweethearts. She had a kind heart and one she willingly extended to everyone – except for the ones who mattered most it would seem. The thought caused her chew on her lip slightly. It was a wonder really that Charlton had stuck around, after having seen that side of her. She realized though that he was one of the few that had, but still accepted her for everything that she was. So you really have no reason to be screaming as it is. She stopped speaking when the conversation turned to that of relationships. As close as she was to Roy, she wasn’t eager to share her history, for the mere sake of not wanting to relive it. In her time away her dreams had been haunted with his memory, she’d even gone so far as to hear the gentle lilt of his voice in passing strangers voices. Even miles apart she’d not been able to rid herself of his memory, the desperate look in his eyes the night of the masquerade. He’d known her name. It killed her, he’d known her name, but nothing else and because of it she’d been desperate to leave. She couldn’t be here, with him, the one she loved – knowing that he’d forgotten everything that had transpired between the two of them. She was glad when Roy didn’t question her further, but was able to feel the disconnect in his voice when she asked of Yuki. Her eyes widened a bit when he spoke, the words divorce haven falling into his sentence. It really had been far too long since they’d spoken. She sighed though, realizing the situation to be not unlike her own. She’d not asked for a divorce, but shed disappeared and given Charlton chance for nothing else.
I’m glad to hear things are better at least. She said softly. Though it seemed clear the two were not in a state of stability, they’d more than Asahria had to offer for her disappearance. Did he ever say why? She asked. It was hard, she could hear the weakness in her voice. Maybe they’d found a way past it because Yuki had given a reason why. She couldn’t be sure. Yuki, was a dear friend of hers as well, but she’d not seen him since her return. It seemed as though he’d been gone just as long as herself. I mean , I know that the two of you of all people can work through this. The feelings have always been there… everyone can see it. And they had. She’d known of the pair ever since her first arrival at the school and it had been nothing less since. I’m sure there is some reasoning behind it. There always is. She would know, she’d been the perpetrator after all.
Would you be surprised to know I was something more? She teased, his question slightly catching her off guard. She’d been very close to being something more. The though was still a bit petrifying, but yet she was standing here human as ever.

SOMETIMES I FIND IT HARD• to believe there's someone else who could be •JUST AS MESSED UP AS MEChange. Hmmm. Well, it had been a long, long while since they'd last met, and a lot of things had happened, more than he cared to admit. A lot of things that probably did change him to some extent. Of course, to most people he may just look and seem the same, but after everything he could say that he'd learned the values of modesty amoungst other things. Heck, he even technically became a different person - thanks to Nova - over the course of the past year or so. Roy couldn't really explain all this to anyone else though, it might seem a bit... crazy? Heh, though come to think of it, most things related to him were a bit baffling, but there were a lot worse things he'd gone through than his friends knew about, or at least the friends he had started coming across now. It was rather liberating to not have to contemplate such things much when around people like Asahria though. His mind randomly came across the memories for a while, but as they exchanged words he instantly thought of something else, and not dwindled over the same things for too long. That of which he was quite pleased about, he always was one to let his past demons haunt him. He needed to let go of such things sooner or later, he hoped.
"Would you have said the same if I grew a beard or something?" he inquired as he reached up to thoughtfully stroke his chin. Maybe that would have been a bit much, he didn't really think facial hair suited him much either. But hey, a change was a change, no matter how small and insignificant. "But no, I'm quite sure I'll be held back a few more years for a long time to come,"
he added, flashing her a grin. Man was that true. Come to think of it though, he actually used to be in fifth year, but after he left and returned he was shoved back a couple years, which sucked for him terribly. "Same goes for a lot of other people here. I doubt it would be the case with you though, you seem bright and intelligent enough to graduate before the rest of us." He made a slight note in his head to study more and attend classes; no wonder he was held back so much with his grades at present. He wondered if he actually attended a class since he returned either. Pretty poor example for a headboy, but hey, at least he cut classes in style. To some extent at least anyway. Roy had to chuckle slightly at her words. "Agreed, and the feeling's mutual of course. It would probably have been very strange and lonely if the people we befriended here never existed, or even vanished. You'd have to try to meet new people, and sometimes that's not always a good thing. Sometimes they're just not as interesting as people you once knew..." He realized he was rambling slightly, and hoped Asahria forgave him for that, but he was in a thoughtful kind of mood and sometimes he tended to pointlessly speak without stopping when he became like this. Of course he trailed off before he managed to get too carried away, which he was relieved about. "Stolen a few....?" Roy blinked, appearing astonished at her words, which then quickly shifted to thoughtfulness again. "I don't really think I've stolen or broken any hearts... everyone just comes and goes of their own will, not because of anything I've said or done." Which disappointed him on some level. He didn't really know about stealing anyone's heart, but he would have liked to think that a lot of people cared that he was leaving them or that they wouldn't see him again as far as broken hearts went - but he didn't especially have any friends who were like that let alone past girlfriends, or even boyfriends. Though generally, he'd mostly been around Yuki during his time at Beauxbatons - he couldn't really speak of the time before then, and during the time he returned as someone else, before he became Roy again and reunited with Yuki. It was all too much to sort out in his mind, but it was an intriguing question to think about, as inappropriate as it probably was when things between him and Yuki were getting better. Either way, whether he had stolen or broken a few hearts along the way, it was all the same to him. Perhaps he didn't care enough - he was quite the player back then ages ago anyway, back then he didn't care as much... these days though... Maybe he was a bit more caring, but then if he ever came across any of those people he had a lot to answer for, he knew that much. Pretty troublesome really. "Yeah, probably," Roy agreed, nodding in response to her boggart statement. There was no point in telling her that Nova could transform into things that parllelled creatures like boggarts, she could probably find that out sooner or later anyway. Until then, he couldn't help but agree with her, he didn't particulary look too scary at the moment either; though the morning after a long drinking session... well, that would look pretty horrifying if he did say so himself. "It's always fun sneaking up behind people though, it's not often when I run across people at night anyway. Though in the day time... yeah, would make far less of an impact." He finished, pausing to think for a moment, then opened his mouth to speak again but fell short. She was now glaring at him, for some reason, which was down right unusual as he hadn't known for her to glare at pretty much anyone. His brow furrowed slightly at her words, trying to think of how else to respond but finding that his mind was blank. "Well...." It was true. What she said was exactly right, and even his demon knew it. He did seem to have a complex - could be described as a hero complex or something along those lines, though he was far from being one - that involved him diving headfirst into danger with no thought of the consequences and no inkling at the back of his mind that he'd get hurt in any way. He didn't especially seem to care about any of that, he never did either. And he never knew why that was. Roy grimaced when suddenly her hand snaked out and grabbed his arm. At this point it was rather numb, but someone randomly grabbing it wasn't especially welcomed in this case either. Then, without waiting to hear from another word out of him, she pointed at the cut on his arm and scolded him. It was actually a rather amusing situation, and he'd probably have started laughing if he was less wary about Asahria making his arm worse than it was, just for not taking her seriously. It was surprising how motherly she sounded as well; she was probably used to things like this happening with whatever other guys in her life wounding themselves and other such things. This was a first for him though, very much so. He usually had to take care of himself when he managed to break an arm or... get dismembered. This was very interesting though. "Well, it's not as bad as some other things I suppose. So it kinda is a... scratch." He winced, tensing up as if thinking she was going to attack him for disagreeing with her. Then after a moment, relaxed and managed a smile. "If you want to do something about this, I really don't mind. Even if it's just conjuring bandages or something from somewhere. This has gone beyond it's uses now." He motioned at the red soaked towel that was lying limply on his arm, as if forgotten. His nose crinkling as if in distaste, he reached over and lifted one edge of it with two fingers, then tugged it so that it ended up in a small pile on the floor. "Better, now I don't need to worry about it sticking to me for the rest of eternity," he commented smugly as he looked at it before back at Asahria again. Roy watched her edge away again in order to lean against the wall, then tilted his head to one side. "I'm awful? Well, some people have said that before," he agreed, a slight smirk forming on his lips. "But yeah, I suppose you're too good natured to cast a bad spell on someone. I still, however, invite you to break my arm if you wish. It's an open invitation~" Can't say that he wasn't a sucker for punishment even at the best of times. "You're right though, as usual. I suppose I have enough reason to scream tonight, as I'm bleeding to death, without allowing other people to do other nasty sounding things as well." She really was one of the nicest people he'd ever met. Truly, he hadn't actually come across many people who did intend others harm, save from vampires, kitsune and other weirdos at the school. But still, Asahria by herself was pretty irreplaceable, as well as incorruptible. Was still fun at times to tease though, otherwise there'd only be seriousness all around. As they talked about relationships though, he felt relieved about not having questioned her further. She seemed to resemble something - or someone - very... broken when he had required about the person on her mind, and it wasn't especially an expression he had seen on the young girls face before, or wanted to again. He felt a sudden lump in his chest, which he had a hard time swallowing back as he sighed. Somehow things had gotten back to him again. Generally, that too was hard. When Yuki left a lot of things happened that he really didn't care to remember, and now they were back talking about all the negative things to come out of such a thing. "Well... it's hard to say I guess," he muttered, thoughtfully looking at the ground and trying to pick and choose his words carefully. "But it's not as if I could even sign the papers even if I could," he added quickly, a small chuckle coming in at the end. It was annoying, so annoying, how the demon interfered in his life, more than he ever wanted him too. Of course in this situation, Nova did help a bit, if the demon didn't do what he did, he probably would have lost Yuki ages ago, which he was grateful for, though he'd rather die than admit that fact. "Ahaha, well miracles do happen occasionally, after all," he stated, a small smile finally appearing as he moved to once again knock his back against the wall too. It really was funny how much they were moving around in such a small room. Well, they had been here talking for a while now, better to pace than to get horrible leg cramps. She then asked her final question and that stopped him cold. "What? Something more?" he repeated as he turned his wide eyed gaze to look at hr. This was something new. Hell, he hadn't even known that she was headgirl before - something he tried to hide when she first said so - and now she tells him that she was something more than human?! "Don't tell me." He finally cooled himself down, and after a moment, decisively began sizing her up. "An ogre? No wait- maybe even a unicorn?" He knew he was kind of making fun of the moment, but he was still vividly surprised, so no one would have been shocked by his joking reaction.[/blockquote][/blockquote] TAGGED ! asahria <3 WORDS ! 1964 OUTFIT ! The mirror seemed to be looming achingly close. As much as she did not want to see what was reflected in that glass, strictly for the fear of never attaining it, all this talk of change made her wonder if there was a possibility her desires had shifted. She could still recall the first time she’d stumbled across this mirror as a first year, confused by the image of her family standing happily at her shoulders. Never before had she seen her family in such a state of happiness and neither would she see ever see it again. Not truly anyways. Her brother hadn’t spoken to her in years and had not even come home to support the family in their trying year, though he’d always been the favored child. Asahria had felt drowned in guilt, constantly struggling for another breath of air while she’d remained at Beauxbatons. She didn’t get along with her family and had frankly never considered them much of a family in the first place. She’d grown up without the company of parents and her brother had been just as eager to leave her – barely offering a thought before he disappeared into the world. Her father never spoke to her and much the same could be said for her mother, excepting the few occasions where they’d sought to control her life. They’d never pushed her towards happiness, only pulled her farther away. Yet still, she’d dropped her life here at Beaxbatons. She’d given up everything for a family that had never truly cared for her. Her mother’s sickness had addled her mind and her anger and pity had penetrated Asahria to the very core. She’d never been much of an optimist, but her mother’s influence had poisoned her. She had barely mustered the courage or the strength to return – having abandoned everything she cared about only to be drug further down into the depths of despair. So maybe she wouldn’t see what she was expecting, but she was still afraid to find out. The distance between the mirror and herself was not working in her minds favor.
Glad that Roy’s voice had pulled her from her silent musings, she managed a laugh as he spoke, his strong fingers stroking his chin thoughtfully. Well I might not have recognized you. She said, her blue eyes examining him carefully, as though trying to imagine the difference. Or I might have just thought you’d turned lumberjack or something of the sort. One could never truly know with you. Nudging him with a shoulder she smiled, barely able to withhold her laughter at the thought of Roy being a lumberjack. She doubted it could ever be a missive that he’d be able to categorize himself into. Appearance aside, it wouldn’t have changed the person you are. For that much she was grateful, for in this moment Roy was acting as her only comfort. She still felt a stranger in a place that had once felt so familiar, in a place that had once been her home. She severely wanted that again, but the idea of it seemed so far away – easily out of reach. It felt comfortable to have Roy here. He was like a bridge to the life she’d once had here and it was the kind of comfort she’d been missing, familiarity. A hesitant sigh escaped her lips when he spoke again, mentioning his schooling situation. Well you’re not the only one. She said with a shrug. I feel like I’m destined to be a fourth year till the end of time. She huffed at his admission, thinking she had managed to excel in even her absence. I wish that were the case, but it seems as though that bright intelligence has escaped somewhere along the way. We’ll make it through with the rest, I suppose. While it was a bit disheartening to be stuck in the same year, there was some comfort in the fact. Asahria wasn’t sure what she’d do after Beauxbatons, everyone she knew was here even if lately they didn’t account for much.
Meeting new people is such a chore though and I’ve never been very good at it. She admitted simply. While she was loving in nature, she was not exactly what one would call an extrovert. More often than not she had the tendency to keep to herself, though she’d never ignore someone who approached her. Approaching others was not something that she found herself truly comfortable with, so instead she waited, choosing instead to let them approach her. Perhaps some new faces would be good, but it’s hard to forget the old ones. Near impossible, as a matter of fact. Her memories were lit with the faces of reoccurring memories, but there was one face in particular that she couldn’t escape. I guess I should just be glad there are a few shining faces still around. You’re just one of the few. Se said with a hasty smile, watching as he turned in confusion Stolen a few? Shaking her head, she pushed a stray strand of blonde hair back behind her shoulder, playing with the edge of her shorts as he began to speak. You give yourself too little credit. Of course everyone comes and goes of their own will, but that’s only looking at one side of the story. People could come and go as they pleased, but there was always some motivation behind their decision. Her own decision to leave had been fueled not only by her broken home, but by the loss of Charlton’s memory. Him forgetting her had been enough to break her heart, whether he’d meant it or not. She couldn’t be sure how her leaving had affected him – or even if it had at all for that matter. Just being is enough to make a difference. she stated, and she meant it. Regardless what Roy thought she believed it? Perhaps he’d not broken heart, but she remembered a good few smitten with him back in those early years. One’s presence was all that it took.
Well you did a fair job of frightening me. Just promise not to make it a habit ok.. She said, meaning to nudge him slightly, but finding her attention diverting back to his arm. She really wished he’d do something about that. Her admonishments seemed to have little no effect on his behavior, which was drawing her to the conclusion that he’d grown even more stubborn in the passing years. Grabbing his arm, she held it out carefully in front of her, examining the skin which had shown itself once the bloodied towel has fallen from his arm.. It may not be as bad as other things, but this is definitely not a scratch Roy. She said, pointing at it with her finger, knowing that he could very well see the depth in which he’d been pierced. How on earth did you manage to do such a thing anyways? She said flustered. It couldn’t have been a mere passing accident and he couldn’t brush off the explanation surely he knew what had caused such a wound. I can probably fix it if you trust me? I just need to know what did it… She didn’t want to be meddling with magic if that were the case, because she didn’t want to cause any further damage. If it were just a ‘scratch’ as she said she was fairly confident she could heal it completely. She had excelled in her classes and healing had been a relative strong point of her, perhaps it was because she was so easily empathetic to those she came across. She just wanted to give her permission before she took to repairing his arm, he might be more comfortable with a nurse tending it, but Asahria doubted he would take that route. Until then she would take the simple route just conjuring some bandages as he had mentioned before. Taking out her want she uttered a simple spell Ferula the bandages carefully winding their way around his damaged arm. As much as I like you I won’t be picking that bloodied thing from off the floor. She teased, trying to lighten the mood, as she knew she had a tendency in turning serious in moments like there. She really just wanted to be sure that he was alright.
She let his arm rest as she let him work out whether or not he really wanted her to try and fix his arm and she settled back onto the windowsill resting her wand in her lap as the conversation once more turned to relationships. She bit her lip, but was comforted when the conversation turned back to Yuki. It wasn’t as though Roy’s situation was any less vexing, or even any easier to talk about – it was just that she couldn’t help but drown herself in constant regret. Her blue eyes sought solace in the ceiling refusing to show Roy the hurt that lingered there as they spoke. At least you know now that it isn’t necessary. She stated. I know it may not be much, but it’s a start. She was sure this subject was as sore for him as Charlton was for her, but she couldn’t help but to find the silver lining in the fact that the two had been able to find a turning point. Hopefully it would be the marker that sent them back uphill.. She nodded at his mention of miracles, a slight smile crossing her lips. If only they could find theirs. Perhaps we ought to walk around a bit. This mirror really is a bit depressing… and should anyone inquire we’ve only got to tell them we’re on rounds. She mentioned as he paced the room. They’d been here for sometime and she was sure he was growing as restless as she.
Calm yourself. She laughed as Roy worked himself up over her last statement. I’m nothing more, but your reaction was certainly worth it. She said laughing, she’d truly only said she’d come close. Just became uncomfortably close was all. She said, brightly even though she had to rub her arms across her arms to rid herself from goosebumbs. She’d still heard no word from Holden since that day, in truth she missed him terribly even though he’d rightfully terrified her. And an ogre really? Do I look so bad?

SOMETIMES I FIND IT HARD• to believe there's someone else who could be •JUST AS MESSED UP AS MEIt felt like ages had passed since they met up in this room, and yet somehow they were still talking in lively tones as if they were in the most exciting place in the world, both consciously avoiding looking at the mirror as if it would give them the plague as soon as their eyes hit the glass of the object. Still, despite all that, he still wasn't too sure about what would appear in his reflection. These days thanks to his demon, his version of wants had become slightly warped, and he hardly knew what's what these days. He figured he knew what Nova wanted though, that's probably what the dream he had earlier meant. Nova had always clearly and bluntly told him that he was always going to take over his body, but what after that? World domination? It would have been a silly thought if a simple human or similar creature told him that he wanted to take over the world, but this was a demon. Demon's tended to be stronger than most others in every aspect, and if Nova gained his full powers and a new body he highly doubted anyone could stop him. "Indeed, how right you are, Roy..." a voice hissed in his head for the first time since meeting Asahria. It made him flinch, just knowing that the demon could hear and see everything he was thinking, and had the ability to make such worries worsen within minutes.
Dammit, he'd really never get used to hearing that voice in his head after all. People really would think he was crazy if he didn't explain the problem to it's fullest, and even so, when it came to normal humans and muggles they still would think he was beyond nuts. Demons. Hearing voices. Believing about superpowers. Really now? He could have almost laughed at such insane thoughts playing throughout his mind, but he quickly struggled not to. Asahria was probably used to such supernatural things, but laughing randomly for no reason at all was just plain weird. "Lumberjack,"
he repeated, suddenly looking thoughtful. "No, I really couldn't pull that look off. I mean, I'd have to wear a checked shirt and... other such things and that doesn't remotely sound like me. But hey, better you claim I look like one of those than a homeless person though," he then said, flashing her a grin, the idea of growing a beard and looking like that amusing him slightly. Yeah, maybe facial hair wouldn't have suited him after all. "And I don't know about that," he added, narrowing his eyes as he gave her a sly smile. "I could either become a down and out, pretty depressed by the beard, orrrrrr I could become a total pervert. Can't decide which is better, can you?" He chuckled slightly at that. Can't say that him being more of a pervert would be a bad thing after all. Then the conversation shifted towards another direction again. Man, they really seemed to be talking about a great number of subjects in such a short amount of time. At her next words though, Roy couldn't help but laugh slightly. "Hey, being a fourth year for the rest of your life is miles better than living as a third year. You can't help but feel like those in higher years are superior to you or something, no matter the age." Yep, eighteen years old and still in one of the lower grades at school, couldn't get much better than that. He felt glad for Asahria though, she was probably going up in the world whereas he was at a standstill. Roy couldn't help but arch an eyebrow now. Intelligence? Escaped her? That, out of anything, he would refuse to believe. "What evidence do you have to back up your claim of your intelligence fleeing, miss?" he drawled in a tone bristling with authority as he nudged her using the elbow of his good arm. "Whatever reason you have, I'll just respond with a good loud 'Objection!' as I shoot those excuses of yours down! Asahria, you're one of the brightest people I know, nothing will ever really change that." What's this? Roy Mustang actually giving someone a motivational speech? Probably the most unusual thing to happen this year thus far, and things in the way of the abnormal usually did happen at Beauxbatons Academy too. After a small moment of contemplation, Roy nodded in agreement. Truly it was hard as well as annoying to meet new people. It was always better to be known and loved than simply a wall flower. Of course Roy himself wasn't that beloved; he was arrogant, obnoxious and had a foul temper at times, so he wouldn't have been surprised if people disliked him too, whether they'd met and knew him or not. "Yeah, and then you end up forgetting who that person is next time you see them, since in a big school like this it's rare that you'd end up meeting again,"] he said slowly. But truly, it was such a boring task to keep introducing yourself to new people, and he really wouldn't do if he had to. They really had to at least know his name beforehand before an actual conversation can bloom out of the confrontation. That's how he'd like to think things went anyway, which was very unlikely in the real world. "Oh, of course!" he agreed, apparently brightening up so much his eyes were flashing, as much as almost black ones could go anyway. "There's so many people I wish never left. Then again, there are some less so... people..." He had a shifty eyed expression, his gaze following the ground to his side as he very vividly remembered Edward Elric and his insane - and very much madening - girlfriend Ayaka. And then he shuddered. "Pipsqueak, as if I did't have enough to think about without him scuttling through head..." Roy muttered under his breath. Once again, a short burst of laughter that wasn't his own rung throughout his head. Nova was clearly amused, whereas Roy (clearly) was not. Roy cleared his throat loudly, now that was awkward. Sure, talking to himself in front of Yuki was cool, and always fine, considering the other boy had next to the same problem, other people though... well, it was an unusual thing to say to say the least. He certainly hoped Asahria thought nothing of it anyway. "Don't worry, you can always count on me to never leave the school and you alone," he stated with a slight smirk forming on his lips. "That is if you promise the same. Wanna pinky swear over it?" Truly, a remarkably horrible joke, but then his sense of humor always was warped. He chuckled slightly, almost awkwardly as he shifted his position against the wall slightly. Man, he forgot that he had been standing in the same place for a long time, and now he was starting to cramp up. Hardly a perfect situation anyhow. "Aha... true," he agreed, giving her a sideglance. "Would be far less painful to just tie them down and refuse to let them leave though." Was that a joke or not? It was hard to tell when he had a demon messing with his head, it kinda made him think of more obscene things. Doesn't help with the company he kept either. Well he'd either let her accept it as a joke or seriousness, it really worked for him either way. With another burst of thought, Roy added, "Ah well, people come and go, but it's usually for the best! Unless it's really difficult to let go and then... your life ends up being consumed by it..." Now that was something he knew very vividly. After Yuki left it utterly destroyed him, and then his demon proceeded to destroy him even more, even if he had Roy's best interests at heart, it was all overly overwhelming in the end. He could see right now that despite things coming together for himself, that Asahria was still in the same rotten place he was. It was generally hard to say what to do about it either, especially when it seemed like such a painful subject for her. Maybe in time she'd open up a bit more about it, but for now he'd just leave it. "My, aren't we being strangely mature today, Mustang," Nova sneered at him. It was annoying to listen to, but quite true. He was hardly as mature as he would have liked to believe, knowing his ego, but he could only ever go up instead of down. Hopefully anyway. Ignoring any taunting remarks from someone Asahria couldn't see or hear, he pushed away from the wall, took a few large steps towards the mirror, then spun around to face her again. "Don't worry, it'll only happen at least once a year. Maybe around Halloween. Then again, everyday around me is Halloween." He grinned, as he raised his better hand, which was suddenly encased in a glove (magic, huh?), which had several odd looking symbols on it, and snapped his fingers. Almost instantly flames erupted from his palm, almost like a miniature flamethrower. Quickly he closed his hand and the fire vanished. "Man, I haven't done that in a while. Frightening, huh? Or at the very least surprising? No?" And a look appeared on his face that was very much close to a pout. It quickly shifted though and he laughed, sounding quite spirited. "Sorry, just couldn't resist-" Before he could finish, once again she grabbed his arm, making him stumble forwards slightly. "My, aren't we eager," he stated, his usual smirk appearing as he watched her, clearly joking but feeling quite pleased that for some reason over the past few minutes he had started to regain his old sense of humor again, and god he had missed it so. His smile faded though and he simply blinked those dark blue eyes at her as she started examining the arm she had seized from him, and then almost looked as if she was going to start prodding and poking it... but not quite. Roy then sighed, a very heavy one. A sigh of resignation if nothing else. "Alright, alright, you got me. It was glass. Lots of it. As to how I happened to get attacked by glass.... well, if I tell you then I'll have to kill you." Despite the situation, Roy was smiling as if he was taking a stroll around the gardens (not that he ever did), which showed apparently that the situation barely even fazed him. Generally though, he felt as though if Asahria didn't feel up to helping him then she was welcome to dismiss him and leave now, but she didn't seem to be doing that. Quite the contrary, she seemed to use a spell that was now wrapping bandages around the wound, and already the pain had eased slightly from it as well. It was much easier this way. Not the point about getting someone else to patch him up after almost bleeding to death again, but simply doing things by oneself and not going to the hospital wing for every ailment that he had. He was even actually starting to get wary of that kind of social setting as well. Spend enough time somewhere and you'd start to get sick of it, after all. Maybe he really should consider a padded room somewhere after all, things like what were occurring today wouldn't happen at least and he'd probably live longer too. At the mention of the bloodied rag on the floor, without moving his head, his eyes shot down to the floor, and then clicked his fingers again. Immediately it went up in flames, quicker than he would have expected. Blood was flammable. He then glanced up at Asahria again and smirked. "Problem solved. Although, I suspect there would have been a few vampires around here who would have loved to get their hands on something as bloodstained as that, if nothing else." Very soon the fire started dwindling before completely vanishing, and all there was left was a small neat pile of ash on the floor. Someone else would probably come along to clean that up, at least, certainly such a chore wasn't in his job description as headboy. Unless they changed that within the past few months without him knowing it. Now then, he focused back on his arm and casually examined it with slight interest. "Very good job, you ought to be a nurse one day," he joked as he moved his arm around in order to get the feel of it being bandaged. Using a towel was one thing, bandages were a bit more constricting but he could live with it. Looking back up at the Rouerie again, she seemed to have moved so she was sitting on the windowsill. Now, however she was looking rather.... well, he couldn't put his finger on the type of word he was looking for. Shielded, could have been one of them. Silently defensive? Maybe not. But she didn't look either sad or happy, he knew that much. "I suppose..." he murmered in reply. It was hard to know what to say, obviously the topic of relationships made things awkward between them, simply because of how strange things had gotten between themselves and the people who held their attentions. "Ah, right! Agreed." He gave her a smile as he quickly jumped at the idea of walking around more. It was also a nice conversation changer as well, something they probably both required. "Either that, or we could just say we're going vampire hunting or something. It works either way," he stated brightly as he slowly edged towards the door, then pausing as he turned to Asahria again. "Where do you suggest we go though? The dungeons and then the catacombs? I can think of no better place to give the young maiden a fright." He made a mocking scary face as an example, then smirked again. "Hmm? You mean you say you weren't actually something else and you just led me on?" He feigned being hurt for the moment. Then again, if she had been something else, it would have been awfully difficult, if not impossible, to become human again. What she said had been surprising though, he had to give her that. "What did you almost become, if you don't mind me asking?" he inquired, leaning forward, his voice and expression just filled to the brim with curiousity. "And no," he quickly laughed. "It was a joke, you're as gorgeous as always, so don't worry. Mind you, I've never actually seen a female ogre before..." he trailed off thoughtfully, looking into space. And then his eyes found Asahria and started studying her as if she was a new breed of creature. A moment later, his eyes reflected the teasing he was doing. "I bet you're gonna hurt me now, right?"[/blockquote][/blockquote] TAGGED ! asahria <3 WORDS ! 2491 OUTFIT ! CLICK LYRICS ! sometimes by skillet TEMPLATE ! PANIC! She’d stumbled into the room in the late evening hours, but Asahria was sure that were now counting into the early hours of the morning. Despite the numerous outcomes which could have developed from Roy’s company, she was finding herself relieved at his company. She couldn’t properly recall the last time she’d been comfortable to just sit and talk with someone – something she was finding relatively easy in Roy’s company, regardless of the fact that it had been sometime since they’d conversed as such. Her time at home had been a perpetual winter, cold and lonely. Her mother had withdrawn into her sickness, able to do little more than bark out wishful commands at her daughter and husband, and her father had been too consumed in his grief to even recognize her presence. All this time after her mother’s death she’d heard not even an utterance from his mouth, it was almost like he’d forgotten her entirely. Then on her return she’d been met with an even harsher reality, not only had she lost everyone at home, but she’d lost those important to her as well. She’d been stubborn to think that he’d been here waiting for her, when she’d left without so much as a word, but she wanted so badly for him to remember, for him to care. Charlton was the only other person she’d learned to trust completely, even in all their disaster, but she’d arrived to find him gone among the rest.
She found that Roy’s presence brought ease to some of that heartache. She was also eerily comforted by the fact that he too was scared of what lie in the mirror’s reflection. She couldn’t begin to fathom what it would be that Roy was avoiding so strongly, but she could only imagine it was something as terrible as the image she had imagined for herself. It was selfish, but she liked to know that she wasn’t the only one hiding from something. She’d always had a tendency for closing herself off and being distant in her emotions. There were a lot of things that Asahria left unspoken and it would seem that the same could be said for her old friend. Discomforts broke through his cool demeanor, only for a moment, but just long enough to let her know she wasn’t the only one with skeletons in the closet. Part of her wondered if he would tell, but then she knew that she too was keeping her secrets at bay. It wasn’t that she didn’t trust Roy. Sometimes it was hard to speak the truth and to let someone else know you were hurting. She wasn’t sure she was ready to relive that pain and maybe she owed him the same.
Relieved again by the soft jest in his voice she turned her attention on him again. Even with the mirror looming as a reminder of the past they had behind them, she was glad that they were able to find some small humor in their situation. A small smile caressed her lips as he spoke, contemplating the idea aloud. Well you might possibly. one can never know until they’ve tried it.She laughed, though she was in agreement when it came down to it. While Roy had handsomely chiseled features, he didn’t have the rugged demeanor one would expect from a lumberjack. I do have some checkered shirts if you’d like to give it a try. She teased, her blue eyes dancing playfully. Of course Roy would never fit into any of her clothing, but she was not past teasing the boy, even after all this time. I’d never go so far as to say you looked homeless. You’re far too handsome to be of that sort. She said, paying no mind to the offhand compliment. She believed it to be true though, he was well taken care of. She grimaced at his next comment, shaking her head at his short reply. You really must take it to all ends. I mean, I’d hate to see you down and out, but I’m not sure I’d respond to you so well of you were a total pervert. She stated. But then again, you’ve always been a bit surprising.
The turn in their conversation had managed to remain relatively light, something she found she was fairly enjoying. It seemed that more often than not things turned down to serious a path and far too soon, but their banter was nice. I suppose, though I’ve still two levels more superior than I. She said, huffing slightly. There had been a time when she’d been on schedule. Then she had been top of the class and had even been working as the Head girl, but a lot of things had changed since then. She was glad to have been able to regain her position of prefect at least, but she couldn’t help but miss those days past. She couldn’t help but smirk at her next statement though. Admittedly that makes me your superior. How about that? She teased, raising her eyebrows at him as she settled against the wall. Imagining herself as superior to Roy in all actuality was a bit daunting. He was one of the first people she’d come to recognize in this school and had always been a bit intimidated by his presence, even after they’d become friends. With that in mind, she couldn’t help but blush with his fleeting compliment. Despite his words she was sure her motivation had fled her, even her intelligence. She couldn’t even be sure what was right and wrong anymore, she’d become so caught up in her disillusion. You give me far too much credit Mr.Mustang. She managed. Though I thank you kindly for such a compliment.
You know, you are actually one of few people I’ve been friends with the entirety of my time here at Beauxbatons, even if your meetings have been a little infrequent. It was true though, like he was it was not very often that you came across an individual more than once. It was a large school here and once you settled into a group, it was often the one you clung too. She’d had many friends in her time here, but most had been fleeting. Really, when it came down to it she had lost most of them, Roy had been one of the only solitary fixtures she’d ever had at the school – though she’d once depended on a few more. Though I know exactly what you mean. She said, nodding in contemplation. She said nothing when he turned his attention on himself, muttering under his breath over some lost colleague. While unusual, she could not fault him for it, a stream of names having filled her own mind. There were like he said, some she wished she had never left – rather needed, but there were also those that she couldn’t begrudge for leaving. She’d half a mind to ask him what it was that he was saying, but found herself pausing as he cleared his throat, turning the conversation away from others and back to themselves.
You better not be making a promise you can’t keep. She said, though a smile graced her lips, there was a trace of sternness in her voice. It wasn’t that she doubted Roy, but Asahria wasn’t sure how many more broken promises she could take. Roy of all people didn’t owe her anything, but still she had a heavy heart. As a matter of fact, I do. laughing she held her pinky out to him. I hope you know that this is a binding promise. She said, pushing her blonde locks back over her shoulder as she looked up to him as he shuffled in his place. Though I don’t think I’ve enough strength to do that in most cases… or they’d all still be here. She stated, giving him a light shrug of the shoulder. It really would be nice if things were so easily, but sadly they had little control when it came to others. They’d left, just as she had before them and no one had been in a place to do anything about it. Maybe I’d have been better off if someone had done such a thing to me. It would have saved her the treachery of living at home, but also the heartache of losing those she cared about.
She could only nod when he spoke again, struck by how true his words were. She was sure that Roy had felt something eerily similar with everything had had happened with Yuki, while she couldn’t fathom their relationship, hers was a constant burden. I’m sure you of all people know how I am feeling then… she said a bit offhandedly, offering him more information on the subject than she had all night. A bit of her felt guilty, with him having spoken to her about Yuki, but another part of her was desperate to cover up her hurt, as the last thing she wanted was for it to wash her under again. Perhaps it was something she needed to talk about though and Roy was one of the few people who would understand. I don’t know what’s worse… the fact that he’d forgotten who I was or that I abandoned him when he needed me most. She felt lost and she didn’t search out his gaze, but closed her arms tight around herself. Asahria hadn’t told anyone about the night of the masquerade, it had torn her heart in two, and nearly rendered her helpless. Yet here she was with Roy, speaking things she’d struggled to keep buried for so long. I don’t know how to let go, because I think I lost him and it’s entirely my fault.
Resting her head against the wall, she relented in the silence and allowed the pause to give her a moment to breath. It was the first time she’d spoken about any of it. While hard, it felt as though she had lifted some of the weight off her shoulders just in sharing with her company. She mulled in the moments silence allowing herself to smile lightly when he spoke again. Well then remind me to keep out of your path during that time, lest you want to make a ghost of me. She teased. She wasn’t actually afraid of Roy, but that didn’t particularly mean she wished him to scare her, she could wish that one someone else. Her eyes widened a bit as a small burst of flame eupted in his palm. Yes terrifying, indeed. She exaggerated, watching as the expressions washed across his face. She rolled her eyes, his words teasing and his lips formed in a smirk, as she pulled her arms towards him. You act as though this is a cat scratch and I assure you, this is much worse. It seemed all the males in her life had a habit of making the dangerous into some folly, that was unless it concerned her own wellbeing. They appeared to have no regard for their own self interests.
Really Roy? she admonished as he let a brief explanation out into the air. She didn’t doubt that these cuts were the work of glass, though she wondered at his admission. While it was playful, she was sure that Roy was hiding something behind it. Asahria was not one to push and she could heal it without knowing the cause, but it didn’t make her any less curious. Keep it secret if you must, but don’t make it a habit of shattering mirrors or some such nonsense. She said eyeing him peculiarly. Perhaps having you in here isn’t in your best interest. She teased, her eyes briefly falling on the mirror across the room – the mirror they had both been so avidly avoiding. She worked carefully uttering a spell to wrap his arm. She tucked her wand back into her pocket as she finished, examining her work. At least this way he would be bleeding from his arm, it was not a permanent fix but at least he’d let her do something for him, it served to calm her nerves. She smiled as he extended his arm testing out the bandage before again turning his gaze on her. Thanks. She muttered, slightly caught unaware by the compliment. She’d never much thought of it, but it seemed suitable enough, given her tendency to put other people before herself. Perhaps. I got through your stubbornness, I’d say that is a good start.
She was glad that he agreed to venture out into the halls with her. She was not yet ready to lose her company, but she was ready to be out of the mirrors shadow. She was both tempted, yet terrified by the image which might lie in its reflections. I’ve far too many vampire friends for that. She stated with a laugh. It was incredible really, almost all the people who’d been important to her here had been more than human Usually something more extraordinary. She had come to love them all, but she’d become relatively sheltered for it. If there was one thing she was tired of, it was the insistency of others to remind her how weak she was. Regardless what they thought, she was perfectly capable of taking care of herself. Why are you trying to frighten me again, you’ve already done that once tonight. She said sharply, her icy eyes turning on him as she stepped out the doorway. Though it’s been sometime since I’ve ventured any of those dark passageways.
I didn’t lead you on, you merely assumed. She suggested with a mere shrug of her shoulders as she tread lightly across the marble floors. Well I should hope that should you ever come across one that you don’t ever find me in likeness. Though gorgeous… I don’t know. She said feebly, again caught unaware by his compliments. She’d never been good at accepting them and she’d been told it a deal many times, first and foremost by her friend Caelen. It had taken her sometime to even believe the words from Charlton’s mouth. And believe me I’m coming close… don’t tempt me farther. She teased, though she knew just as well as he, that she’d be the last one to ever attempt harm on him – or anyone for that matter. As for what I almost became… I had a bit of a frightening experience with Holden. She said, pausing slightly in her words. It was still hard to speak about. There had been so much in that experience that shed played over so many times, she couldn’t imagine how life would have changed for her. Once she’d been worried that had it happened Charlton might accept her, but it seemed that was no longer a concern. Still Holden had been her best friend and she’d not seen him since that day, that in it had been hard. It was back when I was head girl. I’d followed some student into the woods and I fell and cut myself on a branch. I was almost a vampire myself, but there was something else… She said, it was all a bit hard to recall, the events still seemed unclear to her. Or someone I don’t know, but they were the only thing that saved me from his bite.

SOMETIMES I FIND IT HARD• to believe there's someone else who could be •JUST AS MESSED UP AS MEIt was mainly silence in the room as the two stood around, occasionally broken by a response, a chuckle or perhaps even a thoughtful look or two. The silence wasn't really too bad, it didn't feel as dead or as stone cold as it would have been if he was alone or in some kind of less familiar company. Being alone with his demon even managed to make things a tad more worse, even isolated on some level. But with Asahria here it made things easier, and also a type of pleasant distraction from looking at the object in the room - which he still couldn't manage to look at properly, for reasons not even he knew. He just felt a full bodied chill at the thought of what he may see in there, and he had rarely even felt such things during his lifetime either. And still, despite all this, he couldn't help but wonder if he was still imposing upon Asahria. Even though he was here she still seemed kind of alone as if she had something on her mind, which he couldn't ask her about. But he was sure she'd ask him to leave if she truly wanted it, wouldn't she? She wasn't in his presence out of politeness or something - that certainly would have made him feel awkward out of most things they'd discussed this night at any rate.
He couldn't help but grin and blink at her though as she replied, all previous thoughts about silence and loneliness clearly out the window - the only window in this wide and bleak place. "Well I suppose there's some things one can try and things one can't. Although being homeless or a lumberjack... neither seem more appealing than the other." Mind you, a lumberjack was clearly the more dangerous job when it came down to it. Though Roy wasn't especially an adrenaline junkie when it came down to it. Or was he? He seemed to get in far too many dangerous situations far too quickly. That wasn't by choice though was it? And as for being homeless... well, fighting with other homeless people just to get by, befriending pigeons... seems like quite the lifestyle. Umm, no. He decided to deter from such thoughts, before Nova got any ideas how else to ruin Mr. Mustang's life. Now he couldn't help but laugh though, as Asahria added something else to the conversation, his dark blue eyes lighting up slightly. "I think if you loaned me any of those, they'd either not fit or end up in tatters. Not that I'm anywhere close to changing my size to become like The Hulk, of course." He smirked, the remains of the laugh still dancing on his lips as he shook his head slightly in amusement.
Roy then arched an eyebrow and said, "Hey, there can be handsome homeless guys too. Maybe those who only just started living on the streets... or those who care enough to shave with a broken mirror or a knife or something. No promises about them killing someone afterwards though." He nodded in agreement about her next comment though. "I figure most people would flee at the thought of being trapped in conversation with an overly perverted person. You seem too kick ass to allow that to happen as well." He mimicked slapping someone, then a minute later he pretended to hit someone with a pretend baseball bat. "I'd hate yo see you when angry, that is a pretty scary thought. So being a pervert equals bad, got it!" He grinned at her as his hands dropped to his sides again. "Well since coming here I've found out I'm a tad less surprising than other people here. Or am I? I can hardly decide myself." He looked like he was contemplating something, as if conflicted by a certain thought that had randomly crossed his mind. Or was it really random? Perhaps the demon implanted a thought. He had no way to be sure as Nova was so silent at the moment, suspiciously so.
"Two levels?" Roy repeated, phrasing it as a question though he still looked kind of grudging about the whole year thing. "I thought after the seventh year you graduate. You are a forth year, right?" He gave her a teasing grin as he pretended to size her up, his eyes moving from her face till they reached her ankles and then up again. Then her next comment wiped the grin off his face and was quickly replaced with a scowl. "I was still once a fifth year," he huffed, looking as though his feathers were quite ruffled for the first time since this conversation started. Obviously it seemed like an arrow had just shot out of nowhere, hit his pride and pinned it to the stone wall behind him. "Besides, even if you're a year greater than me, I'm still headboy," he added smuggly, trying to find another reason to gather together some of his scattered dignity. After a moment of silence he took a deep breath and shook his head, deciding to change his tactic when it came to speaking to her. Asahria was an old friend, and it was unlike him to behave in such a way around friends. For the most part anyway. He couldn't help something rising up in his chest and emitting that outburst. The feeling was gone though and he was happy to just move on with what they were talking about instead of dwelling on things like that. "Anytime, Miss. Ryek," he stated lightly. "And nonsense. I only give as much credit as deserved, and what I said barely even scratched the surface I'm guessing."
Her next words make him think a little. Yes, that certainly was accurate, no doubt about that. Along with Yuki and Penelope, she was one of the only people who'd befriended that stuck it out in the school this long. Heck, he hadn't even sen people like Anouk or Scarlett in such a long time, he couldn't help but wonder what they were up to now. "I'm surprised how we didn't run into each other sooner. I guess after a while of meeting we met new people and started hanging out with them instead,"
he said slowly, still with an air of thoughtfulness. "But hey!" he then added quickly. "That was a long time ago, we should make a semi new year's resolution to hang out more." He smirked at her. Semi New Year's resolution? Half way through the year? It sounded odd but it really did kinda make sense, on some level. He'd have to rethink it through later anyway. Then she spoke again and he couldn't help but smirk. A promise huh? Generally, he was good with keeping his word, as well as not lying, unless something to do with Nova got in his way. Those times were the worst of all, those were times when he actually felt like a bad guy, some kind of... two faced person, and he didn't really think he was initially like that. Roy looked down at her finger and chuckled, then extended his own in order to make a pinkie promise. Now the pact was set, otherwise he'd have to eat a thousand needles and... "That's a Japanese myth, Roy, it probably wouldn't actually happen..." Nova drawled lazily. It didn't really reassure him, however, nothing the demon actually said ever did. "Well, I suppose people just come and go," he said slowly. "And I suppose that if you tried stopping them and they did stay they'd end up resenting you in the end. So everyone's a loser, I guess," he added, with a slightly awkward smile. He coughed slightly, trying to hide the awkwardness he felt towards the conversation. He really wasn't good with sentimental stuff, and it was probably that obvious when it came down to it. He couldn't help but reflect now and again, but brooding about it, especially in public.... well, he couldn't help but be embarrassed by it. "Well, same here. Everyone seemed to have left during my absence, now this place seems almost like a strange, foreign place. I suppose in the end it also hasn't changed much, just the people, but still.... Maybe you know better than to leave quickly and randomly, just like me, huh?" he told her, the same cocky smirk back on his lips again. "Maybe if we didn't go, no one would have left. I suppose there's no way to know." With his free hand, he randomly flicked a piece of dried blood off his other arm - at this point all the fluids had dried and... well, it looked very corpse-like. Though less green and.. blue, like in the movies... At that he almost wandered off in his thoughts again, but quickly glanced at Asahria before he could do so. Along with his arm he didn't want her to think he'd been completely zombified. That would have been rather worrying. "Hmm. Well you could be right..." Roy started, pausing as if still thinking what to say, although his thought processes may have still have caught up with the conversation. "Although I probably don't know exactly what your feeling, as tragic as it is." He gave her a reassuring smile as he let her go on, his eyes narrowing slightly after a while. "That does sound bad... but it sounds like an obstacle that could be overcame in the end." Wait, why was he giving her dating advice when he was a failure when it came down to that. Roy closed his eyes, bringing a fist up to his mouth and cleared his throat loudly. "What I meant to say is that when a relationship fails it's never entirely one person's fault. If he knows who he is again, and who you are, then it should be worth trying to go for things again so long as he's in the same place as you. I mean... he doesn't blame you for stuff - for everything like you are, right?" He lowered his hand to his side and tilted his head, sympathy in his gaze, though he had a feeling that sympathy or pity wasn't what she needed. Those kind of things were usually reserved for weaker individuals who didn't know how to climb over certain walls or get over things, he knew Asahria - after all these years - was the exact opposite. He knew that she'd find something to work things out, she was a tough cookie at the very least. Watching her, he couldn't help but wonder if it had been better for him to remain silent. For her to just share what she was thinking and feeling at the time without interruptions, and for him to just listen and nod along. That's what some people did right? Sort of like a shoulder to cry on - though she wasn't crying exactly of course. Roy's brow furrowed as he turned his gaze to look at the floor, which then shot up again an instant later when she spoke. Ah yes, the whole flamethrower gig he had going on. It had only been a second but he allowed his thoughts to run away with him again. "And such an awesome ghost you'll be too!" he simpered. "Although there's more options than just that. You could be a zombie, a ghoul, maybe a vampire if one came soon enough, a werewolf too, or maybe even a demon~ If you were a wicked enough person that is." He pretended to look at her skeptically again, as if trying to judge whether she was a wicked and vile human. He then widened his eyes and smiled brightly. "Well, you pass! You don't have that kind of demonic aura about you after all, trust me, I'm an expert!" He looked quite smug as he puffed his chest out while he talked. Man, you'd almost think that he'd pull out a gun and go on the attack if she was even remotely evil, though that would have been almost too hypocritical of him, of course. After he did his little 'party trick', he watched her roll her eyes out of the corner of his own and grinned. Obviously he didn't intend to scare her or anything, and basically everyone he knew knew better than to think such things about him. Although when it came to Nova it was a completely different matter, as the demon had in fact tried to kill some of his friends before. "I could be good for setting up fireworks sometime in the future as well," he chuckled, wondering why he'd never actually thought of doing that before. Roy blinked at her as she turned her attention back to his arm. It kinda did look like cat scratches though... okay, maybe those belonging to a big - non household type - cat. As deep as they were and stuff. "Yeah, glass. I doubt I'd be able to find some other way to do this, unless I did it on purpose or a manticore attacked me." And a manticore wouldn't have stopped at clawing my arm, he added as a continued thought. "I'll keep it in mind that scattering glass, be it bathroom mirrors or windows in general, is bad, reaaaal bad. Got it." He smirked at her as he turned to face whatever had caught her attention. Oh, it was the mirror again. "Don't worry, I'll make sure not to run headfirst into it, that may cause more damage than intended," he spoke, his eyes slyly flicking towards her than back at the object again. A twinge of pain caused him to quickly turn back to the other girl, slight pain in his facial expression as he saw she was tapping his arm (however lightly it was) and bandages were flying out to encase it tightly. The blood had stopped flowing for the most part so he was quite confident he didn't have to go to the nurse's office or anything. Hell, the blood probably wouldn't even seep through the bandages, which was good in that less people would be staring at him in the hallways as he walked by. "Oi! I'm not that stubborn!" he replied, quickly whirling on her, an almost hurt look on his face. "But you're probably right. There's probably less cooperative patients than me out there too. Best prepare yourself, young padawan." He smirked and with his good hand poked her lightly on the shoulder. A small moment later he had moved an inch closer to the door, but half turned to look at her and raised an eyebrow. "A human girl surrounded by vampires? Sounds risky if you ask me." Then again, who was he to judge. Everyone was probably in the same position since there were far too many creatures about the school for it to be normal, some worse than others. A shallow laugh escaped him when she suddenly turned very Ice Queen-like on him. "Sorry, just out of habit," he got out, once he finished the brief moment of unnecessary laughter. Roy followed her out into the hallway and nodded, taking note that the place seemed even more silent than when he first walked towards the room, if that was at all possible. "Well you managed to make it here relatively fine. I suppose a little light may be in order though..." Originally he had followed Asahria and her wand, so with that he pulled out his own and muttered the spell that allowed his own wand to light up. It was funny though, he rarely did actually use his wand despite being at a wizarding school such as this. He turned back to her with the wand shining and gave her an exasperated smile. She seemed to not take compliments easily, which was something new for him, and he wasn't even hitting on this one. She still hadn't decided where they were going though, which was fine by him, he didn't mind the darkness too much, and she seemed to be decisively replying to his constant array of questions too, which was impressive. "With Holden, huh.." He furrowed his brow a bit, then fixed the expression, though she probably couldn't have seen it too well anyway. He had been quite good friends with the vampire boy himself, despite many of the heated arguments they had at the time. He waited patiently for her to continue though, which was easy to do due to how silent and relaxing the setting actually was. "That seems like a... very interesting, yet hard, thing to remember. He paused for a moment as he tried to think of what to say next without it offending her or anything. "What if the person hadn't saved you from the bite? Would you have liked to become a vampire? I mean, you do have quite a few who are, as you'd said..." he said slowly, curiosity lingering in his voice. As he spoke the last few words he let his feet carry him slowly further down the hallway. After all, they did intend to go somewhere else, and he didn't see any reason why they couldn't walk and talk at the same time.[/blockquote][/blockquote] TAGGED ! asahria <3 WORDS ! 2863 OUTFIT !
