I've turned off post count in all OOC boards. So your post count will only move up when you post a RP in a RP board. Please keep the RP Rules, Tips and Guidelines in mind when posting.
All boards under the 'Getting Started at Beauxbatons' category are OOC boards. All common rooms and dorms are RP boards. All boards in the 'Inside Beauxbatons' category are RP boards, excluding the House Points Room board and wishes board (Looking into the Mirror) and the lounges. All boards in the 'Outside Beauxbatons' category are RP boards, excluding the Groundkeepers Hut, which is games. The actual 'Palace of Beauxbatons' boards is OOC, but all classes are RP boards. All boards under the 'Detaillant' category are OOC boards, excluding the 'Boutiques' board and 'The Grub Pub' board, those are RP boards. Also all boards under the 'Beauxbatons Extras' category are OOC boards. I think I touched base on all boards, if you have any more questions on what is and isn't RP boards just PM me and I will let you know.
Now in order for this to work I will have to lower everyone's post count, excluding staff, they don't have years so it doesn't include them, though their post count won't go up in OOC boards either. First years that have over 100 posts will have their post count lowered to 100. Everyone else's post count will be lowered to the numbers posted above. So if you're a third year and have 1,800 posts your post count will be lowered to 375 posts, because that is the required amount to be a third year. I know you think this is a lot of RP posts, but you can only move up one year per term, and terms are 3 months long. So you have plenty of time to get these posts. And it really is easier, and better for the site, to do it this way than the old way.
You may be wondering why this is. It's because the OOC/Games boards have been overused and abused. People have thousands upon thousands of posts and none of them or very few of them are RP posts. They're being moved up to higher years without RPing. They come on solely to chat and play games. Our RP boards are dying. Also there will be no question of if you should be moved up or not, which I know some of you didn't like the way I did it in the past. Now its simple. Either you have enough posts or you don't. That simple.
There are rules to this though. There will be NO posting OOC/Games/Chat threads in any RP board! If you are found doing this then you will lose 5 posts off your post count and 2 points off your karma per offense. This is for the first offense, the next time you will lose 1 more karma point for each time after that. So if you do it again, you lose another 5 posts, plus 3 karma this time. The next time 5 more posts plus 4 karma and so on. It's the same if you post a one-liner. According to the RP Rules you must have a paragraph. If your RP isn't a paragraph but it isn't a one-liner either you lose 3 posts and 2 karma, with the karma points going up 1 point per offense.
Some of the old ways are still in tact though. Such as activity. You still must be active through most of the term. If you're inactive but have the required post count you won't be moved up. Also if you're very new, like a couple weeks or so, and you have the required post count, you still won't be moved up because you weren't here through most of the term.
All staff, professors, prefects, head of houses, headgirl/boy, RP Mods, me, the Vice and so on will be modding the boards. So do not break the rules or you will lose posts and karma.
Ok well I think thats pretty much it. These are not set in stone. If after a while I see that these aren't working we can always adjust them. But I think if you guys will focus a bit more on RPing and a little less on Games and chatting that is is totally doable. Also I will be moving post count down now and we won't have to do that again unless you break the rules and I move them down 5. This is in affect starting immediately. So please take note of what is and isn't a RP board.
