She had been at Beauxbatons long enough to know the general layout (i.e. food places and where her classes were, as, since it was winter, there really wasn't much going on outside), but she had not yet EXPLORED. Sure, first day she had gotten lost and found some random corridors and rooms, but she had not yet gone on an exploration mission and found her special corner or just found SOMETHING. Nyx shook her head at her pitiful antics. It was a typical Saturday afternoon for Nyx, she was finishing her charms essay before having a late lunch, then maybe having dinner with her friends and just hanging out or maybe, and if someone was hosting, going to a party or something. Nyx felt different this Saturday as she finished her last sentence of her Charms, she was going to explore and branch out of what she also did. Nyx said no to the status quo.
Ms. Korba packed up her backs and placed her parchments in her room before putting on a pair of black leggings, an old t-shirt, high socks, and a long button up sweater. She twisted her hair up into a bun, letting some tangles of her hair frame her face before taking her wand and sketch pad and leaving, there was no need for shoes anyway. Adventurers didn't need shoes, duh. Nyx went out of the Cossu common room, ignoring some of the odd looks she god from her shoeless feet and went up some stairs and down some stairs, eventually ending up in the kitchens where she made conversation with the house elves and ate some raspberries before wishing the elves the best and promising to visit them soon. Nyx left with a plastic bag of raspberries in hand, ready to really begin her adventure (what? she needed to eat).
Nyx wandered into an abandoned corridor, wondering where it led. Sadly, all the doors she tried were locked and the curtains closed. The young woman frowned, unhappy that there was nothing to find. It would be impolite to pick the locks and she really didn't want to get in a lot of trouble. But what was behind those doors? She heard voices muttering softly in a room down the hall and she tried to pick out their voices, but she just had no idea what was going on. Nyx sighed unhappily and plucked a raspberry into her voice, brightening upon the contact with its sweetness. She walked over to the door with the mysterious voices and tried to listen in. Nothing. She scratched her head thoughtfully and stood behind a pillar down the hall and the people began to file out of the room. Most of the went the opposite way as Nyx so she started to walk to the open room when she walked into a familiar person.

Soft rustling was heard as another page was turned belonging to one of the books in the library, or to be more specific, one of the books belonging to the restricted section of the library. "Not this one..." Roy mumbled as he closed yet another book and placed it quietly down on the table on top of several other books which he had seemed to have been looking through moments before as well. Roy furrowed his brow as he took a step back from the bookshelf to examine what other books there were left. Quite a lot actually, and he didn't especially feel like having a look through them and spending all night there either. It wasn't as if he'd actually gotten permission from a teacher to be there, in fact he'd used what talents he had to break in just to try and find what he was looking for. Unfortunally that would take longer than he expected, and he initially thought it would be a piece of cake especially when the restricted section was this small.
"What exactly are you looking for anyway, Mustang? Something related to alchemy and the Philosophers Stone, sure, but I thought you gave that up ages ago," his demon half hissed at him as the Sournois student turned and slowly made his way towards the door of the library, and as he did so he waved his arm quickly and the books all soared back into their previous positions on the bookshelves, the only hint of them being moved was the lack of dust on their covers.
"It's something indeed... it's been ages since Ed died and I only just started thinking of it lately... maybe another time..." Roy quickly made his way out of the restricted section, not bothering to reset all the traps and spells that had originally been set up to keep people out of there and walked out into the hallway. Where to go now? It was still afternoon, and he was surprised there weren't more students or teachers crowding the hallways or even hanging around in the library. It all seemed very deserted for a weekend afternoon. Maybe people were sleeping in on this day, or even deciding to just hang around their common room. After thinking of that he nodded and decided to just head for his own common room himself, maybe he'd be able to find himself something to do there. Just maybe.
He walked down to the end of one corridor, and hesitated for a moment before walking down the next. It was the forbidden corridor. He had quite a lot of bad memories in this place and tended to avoid it whenever he could, but at the moment all he could think was, "what could really go wrong?" So he continued onwards, and as he continued down, he happened upon one of the classrooms which had started puking out people - not in a literal sense, of course - and as the crowd started to dwindle his eyes fell upon someone who was standing at the opposite side of the doorway. Someone he knew quite well and which he hadn't seen in ages. "You're... hey," he started, pushing past one or two people in his way so he could see her better. "You're.... Nyx, right?" he asked, hoping that he was right and not just embarrassing himself by thinking she was someone else. "I don't suppose you remember or know who I am, right? I mean, I guess it has been a long time..." Nyx stood in the corridor as students filed out of the room she has just been looking into, jaw dropped staring at this familiar fellow. This had to be a joke. No way. Usually Nyx was really happy when she happened upon people she knew, but not when it came to the likes of Roy Mustang. He broke her heart. Admittedly, she was like twelve or something (details that don't matter), but she still had a heart and Roy Mustang took it in his hands (not literally, that would just be gross), and ripped it apart. Or at least that's what she had told her journal back in the day. Anyway, she stared at this, dare she say: fine specimen, in front of her, and glared. He didn't even remember her? After shattering her heart and never looking back. She was insulted that he couldn't even spare a tidbit of his memory for her face. To be honest, he remembered her name, but that didn't count, he still had to ask. She still remembered exactly what he looked like and it's not like they both magically transformed into completely different looking people in the plus or minus four years since they had originally broken off their friendship. Wow, four years? That's a long time...
It took Nyx awhile to recover from seeing her first love, though in hindsight it wasn't love, but that's BESIDES the point. Once she regained her composure, she quickly lost it as she started laughing. The students milling about looked at her weirdly, but she didn't even care as she was hit with the final words he said. Like she wouldn't remember him. Like it was no. Big. Deal. Nyx laughed harder than she should of, but like yolo or something of the sort before responding. "Yes, I do happen to be Nyx and I do remember you, Roy. Quite well, in fact," that was all she could say without flipping a s**t and giving him a much needed rant for ten minutes on how twelve year old Nyx was still hurting from the brutal pain that he caused her. Come to think of it, she wasn't really quite sure what he had done. But that's not the point. The point is that he had done something to her that made her remember him unfavorably.
Nyx breathed in heavily, finally giving Roy a once over. He'd definitely grown out of his scrawny boyish self and into a, well, a handsome young man, which she did not think with ease. Rather, she wished that he had turned out to be rotten, just like his actions (boy, did she really need to get over this). "So, what has it been, like four years, since you uh left?" Nyx desperately wanted to end with 'since you broke my heart' but that would just be embarrassing if he didn't even know what she was talking about and she was already embarrassed enough from having hysterically laughed within the first thirty seconds they had reunited. She wasn't that insane, she promised. Nyx played with a strand of her hair, letting it fall loose from it's bun, waving it out all model-like, just like her mother taught her, putting that veela-blood to good use. At least she would make him pay for ditching her.

Roy stood there studying her curiously. Yes, he was quite sure it was her - as soon as he saw her the name quickly made it's way to the tip of his tongue without even thinking of it. She really had seemed to have grown up quite a lot from when he last saw her, more... well, she did have veela blood in her after all, so beautiful and alluring was probably an understatement. But he decided remain silent, when it came to many pleasantries at least. The way she was glaring at him... make him kind of feel like no matter how many compliments he gave her, she wouldn't stop glaring at him as if she expected him to burst into flames on the spot. Either way, at least he remembered her name so what he had done shouldn't have been too bad, surely. Mind you, he did have some troubles of remembering years ago, especially when it came to his brief stint at Kieran Mustang and getting amnesia for a while, he kind of did need some help remembering. But this.... just looking at her made him think that he almost could, given the right incentive.
And that's when she started laughing, which caused Roy to stare at her. Feeling wary was rather an understatement. The female in front of him almost seemed quite mad, although that was probably due to his ignorance of the situation. "You know me quite well, huh?" he muttered, narrowing his dark blue eyes at her. Really now, he was trying his best to remember, trying to put a face to a memory he felt was long forgotten. And then she said it. Four years since you left. His eyes blinked wide and he took a step back. "Oh. Oh!"Damn. Dammit to hell, how could he seriously have forgotten? She was that Nyx. Four years ago, she was around twelve and he was fourteen or fifteen or something (details that didn't really matter), they were dating and then... Well, that did sound very much like him, he had to silently admit - of course if he admitted that out loud she would have tried to hurt him... not something to look forward to at least. Roy now struggled to give her a smile despite all the hostilities, and trying to Nyx playing with her hair.. watching the golden waves as they fell around her shoulders and... Roy aimed his attention over his shoulder instead. Now wasn't the time to get distracted it seemed. He did recall that's what she used to do with her hair as well, something her mother told her to do ages ago, he recalled. But either way, he coughed awkwardly. Being confronted with ex girlfriends was a situation he hated the most, he had so many of them and they generally seemed to end up hating him for one reason or another, he didn't quite know why... however, Nyx was one of the first and it was a scenario he should have always been preparing for! ..or maybe not. "Ah, well, yeah... probably four years at best, I hope you've been doing well." Roy chose his words very carefully, and used a very formal tone as well, for a reason not even he knew. Roy then rethought things over, and then said, slumping his shoulders slightly and looking a little resigned. "I don't suppose you're looking for an apology are you? I mean, I was a kid back then and..." He quickly raised an eyebrow as a thought suddenly occurred to him, his gaze then becoming very suspicious. "You didn't stalk me here did you? Just for that. I mean, I know it was bad, but following me here..." It had only just came to him the strangeness of both childhood sweethearts meeting in this exact same school when there was lots of other magical schools, so in typical Roy Mustang fashion, he stared her down, quite tense and wondering what the outcome of this was going to be. Of course if it would have all been resolved and with her ending up in a miniskirt everything would just end hunky dory, but not everything always ended in his idealistic way, sadly.[/blockquote] TAG|nyx x 701|# x OUTFIT|HERE x NOTES|alright, thanks for making me remember, since i kinda did forget! xD. and sorry if this is bad and weird too <.<; LYRICS|I LOVE PLAYING WITH FIRE BY THE RUNAWAYS CREDIT|CAEJAE@Caution 2.0

• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • "You know me quite well, huh?" Nyx scoffed at that. Like seriously? At least try to remember the people whose hearts you ripped apart (okay so maybe she was a little overdramatic, someone in her family had been an actor at some point). Nyx glared at Roy, willing him to remember. Was she really that forgettable? Nyx had always thought herself an odd spirit and crazy and unforgettable. Well, it was a long time ago... kinda. Finally the boy seemed to understand who she was. "Honestly, how many Nyx's do you know?" she asked sarcastically. Another thing about herself that was unforgettable: her name. She had never met anyone else named Nyx, which was pretty sick. She took a deep breath, trying to handle this situation well. At least she hadn't gone all veela crazy on him yet and gouged out his eyeballs or something grotesque.
Nyx was taking immense pleasure in the awkwardness that Roy was displaying. She loved to make people feel awkward, especially ex-boyfriends. One of the joys of being a girl was that you were never really confronted by crazy ex boyfriends crying to you, because most guys wouldn't do that. Any time she ran into an ex they would have awkward small talk and Nyx would pretend like she had somewhere to be. Simple. Now girls on the other hand, Nyx had to think ex girlfriends were quite difficult. That was one of the things that Nyx appreciated about the female population: they always get down to the point. Women will not shy away from a confrontation with an ex, or at least no one in her family did, or, well, considering she had only brothers, their old girlfriends used to come and try to curse them. Luckily, they hadn't had wands yet so it didn't work. Nyx could only hope all nine of the boys were still alive. Nothing like a woman's wrath.
"Ugh, four years already? I feel so old." Nyx sidetracked, forgetting she was supposed to be angry. That was another thing, she didn't like staying angry. It was just so exhausting. Like, to come up with annoying things to shout at people is just so hard. Much easier to just smile and be happy. So she wanted to forgive Roy, but like, she loved holding grudges too. Boy was she conflicted. Nyx laughed as he said he wouldn't apologize. This kid had to be a joke. How did he date this arse? Just pretend to be sorry, don't make excuses. "We still are kids," Nyx stated. She hated when people tried to seem older than they were. Like 18 is still basically a child, it's not like you magically shift into an adult when you turn 18. If Nyx had laughed at his "no apologizing" thing, it was nothing in comparison to the laughter that overcame her when he thought that she had cared enough about him to stalk him here. Like what an absolute idiot and pompous prick. Seriously?! She had tears in her eyes when she responded. "Don't flatter yourself Roy, you're not that attractive or, as far as I can tell, have that great of a personality for me to stalk you here. Believe it or not, not every single girl in this school came her to catch a glimpse of you. Funnily enough, I came to get an education, I believe that's what school entails, I could be wrong though," she finished sarcastically. Really? Was he honestly so stuck up that he thought she had followed him. "Also, it's been four years. Why would I randomly show up now? That'd be dumb. At least be logical in your accusations, sheesh."

Whoa. Was she ever angry or what?. She was standing there emitting this large aura or animosity. Demon or not, he would have sensed the hostilities a mile off, no questions asked. "For all you know I could have known plenty of girls by the same name," Roy retorted back. "Of course if that was the case, with someone else we wouldn't have ended on such gritty terms." Was that a low blow? It kinda was. It sort of screamed that both him and the girl he was talking to were destined to be in this angry death match, glaring at each other, purely because of one thing that happened years ago. One thing that a certain person seemed to have not gotten over. It was strange though. Should he be feeling remorse, or pity? No. Maybe a slight feeling of guilt, but generally the more Nyx snapped at him the more iritated he seemed to get. Usually Roy did have a foul temper that was by far not improved with his demonic possession problem, but a female having a hissy fit at him really made things a whole lot worse. It wasn't the first time in a couple years when he had an ex confront him, and he found it highly unlikely it would be his last either. He took a deep breath to relax himself. He needn't get so riled up about this, it wasn't as if she was just going to drop the chatter and... attack him or something. Although he knew she could. Half harpy woman... he thought crudely to himself. Oh yes, he knew exactly what she was thinking, and Veela's did have a tendancy to act oddly when angered. But what about half Veelas? It was an interesting thought to contemplate, but he couldn't really afford to space out now. At the moment he just had to bare the situation he had gotten himself into. This was years in the making after all. He should have figured he'd run into Nyx sooner or later. Ex-girlfriends and such rarely disappear without leaving some kind of mark, and quite clearly the mark she left him with back then wasn't big enough, so here she was to finish the job. No? That wasn't right? Already she was talking again, but once again, nothing really pleasant. He was beginning to get tired and bored with it, but what could he do? Turn tail and run? He already did that once, doing it a second time wasn't really an option. "Yeah, four years is a long time," Roy decidedly agreed. It rather was stating the obvious, yet another thing she would more than likely turn against him, but as memories fade in time... yeah, four years was a damn well long time and he had a right to state that fact if he had to, if only to agree... slightly. "Wait, kids?" Did he just hear right? Inch by inch the awkwardness had slipped out of the confrontation and now he was just scowling at her. "Speak for yourself. I'm eighteen." Kinda. He didn't add that last bit. He didn't really know how old he was now, what with the whole demon thing screwing him over. "Eighteen is a couple years past the legal limit, isn't it? You on the other hand..." He couldn't help but smirk at the implication he just made, but hey, if she was allowed to insult him however she wanted, he may as well have something to say back at her. "Well don't worry, sometime I'll take you out for a drink and buy you a butterbeer or something," he declared loudly, still half smirking at her. It was all getting very bewildering for him, this one small exchange or words, but what confused him most was the slight glimpse of tears he saw coming from her before she started on her wildest retort yet. "That was a joke. You really need to lighten up," he drawled, the smirk fading as his brow knitted together in a frown. "Of course I realize that you didn't follow me here. It's just surprising that you're... here, of all places." Roy took a deep breath and sighed heavily. "Alright, alright. I'll play nice. I'm sorry, alright? For any distress or pain I've caused you. I know it must have been... hard, for me to leave that is. Unless you were totally fine with me going because you hate me so much, then that's cool too!" He quickly had to in the last part in case she found something else to yell at him about, like 'of course I didn't give a s**t about you leaving, you good for nothing asshat!' ...yep, that really sounded like something she'd say, after listening to the rest of what she said so far at least. Well all he could do was wait to see if she'd accept the apology, it did seem to be one of the things she wanted from him at least, if nothing else.[/blockquote] TAG|nyx x 833|# x OUTFIT|HERE x NOTES|yay~ finally replied xDD LYRICS|I LOVE PLAYING WITH FIRE BY THE RUNAWAYS CREDIT|CAEJAE@Caution 2.0
