She was finally able to feel comfortable in her spot rather than having to ignore the ache in her lower back. She turned the pages quickly as she took in every word from the pages. Tinley had realized that morning as she got dressed that she hadn't just sat down to read in quite a while or if she had it was for very long. There was always something else to take her attention away and she ended up forgetting. The whole thing was upsetting for her really, before she couldn't pull herself away from at book at all no matter who it was. At least she had not broke her habit of always having a book with her, in fact as she emptied out her bag she saw that every book she possibly own was stacked neatly inside. This caused her laugh loudly and also take an hour of her reading time to sort them all out.
When she finally located her desired book she shoved into her bag and practically flew down the steps. After taking a small amount of time in the kitchens she emerged in a happy mood towards the lake. It was just as beautiful as she remembered and immediately added a serenity to her mood. Taking a place by the large Oak Tree the red head pulled her book and began to read. 4 hours later she was in the same spot, the book in her hand was 8 pages from being finished and the heat from the summer afternoon was making the hem of her dress, as well as the rest of it, stick to her skin. The weather had been so strange the last few days. It had rained for a couple days straight, and now it was exceedingly hot. Bipolar weather indeed.
As she finished her book Tinley couldn't help but think of one person she'd really like to see. He wasn't around as much as she had hoped...or perhaps he was and she just kept missing him. Regardless she miss quite a lot and wondered if he was around. Just as she decided she would sent a little note his way, and small owl appeared by her side. Really? How does this school always know?! she wondered in exasperation. She scribbled a neat letter addressed to the boy from the towers and sent it off with a small smirk. Hopefully he would know who it was from, and that the owl knew where he was. sorry it sucks. It just sounds awful but ignore that fact :p |

Hot, was the only thought that came from the dark haired boy as he slouched against one of the walls of the dungeons, feeling the cool wall against his back and making him sign in relief. It had been quite warm outside for the short duration that he had spend outside, just walking around the grounds, doing nothing besides looking at the scenery... It was actually quite fulfilling, and as he had a lot on his mind the fact that it was a nice day helped a lot with that too. The sun in the sky, a nice breeze ruffling through his hair, birds chirping... So much nicer than these dark slimy tunnels that his common room was forced to be in.
Now that he really thought about it for a minute longer, being down here wasn't such a great idea after all, even if it was for a moment of two cooling off time. Decidedly, he walked back up through the tunnels again and ended up where he started again - one of the side entrances of the palace. Almost instantly the sun hit him again, making him frumble in his jean pockets to find his sunglasses, of which case he found and quickly put on. Sadly, his eyes were quite delicate when it came to strong rays of light like the sun, which almost showed in that his eyes were an unusual light violet-gray color. "Much better. But what now.." he mumbled as he slowly looked around, almost seeming bored, which he kinda was. Although that feeling really didn't last very long. A second or so later he ended up half dodging to his left as what seemed to be a feathered ball almost slammed into him. Or upon further inspection, a very small owl that he has mistaken for a ball. Klaus blinked and lowered himself, sunglasses sliding down his nose as he watched it for a moment before realizing it has been carrying a message of sorts.
Picking up both the owl and letter, Klaus unfolded the parchment - both whilst stroking the pretty little owl's head in case it hurt itself - and read it, a small smile appearing as he finished. It was short but sweet, and from a person who wasn't too far from where he was standing either. Perfect. Carefully folding the letter up again, he neatly put it into his pocket, still whilst balancing the bird, and then made his way towards the lake. It barely took any time at all before his eyes fell upon the one person who had summoned him. "You summoned me, Miss Labonte?" he enquired quietly from behind her, or beside her, as it were - who can really tell when someone has their back against a tree? He wasn't sure as to whether he was more thrilled about meeting this one girl again or embarrassed. Last time he was quite sure he didn't leave much of an impression... Maybe that he talked too much, which was odd because that was the first time he actually spoke to someone in more than one or two words. Before attending this school or talking to Tinley he never really had much reason to talk to anyone for various reasons. It was actually quite refreshing. "It's.. um... been a while..."
he added lamely, still quite unsure of himself. The own he was holding then suddenly became more lively and jumped onto his shoulder before shaking itself out. Klaus cast a slightly amused eye over at it before glancing carefully back down at the young girl in front of him again. "I hope you've been dong well since we last met..."[/blockquote][/blockquote] tagged . Tinley <3 words . 610 notes . This is terrible =_= I should be shot. The heat and lack of breeze combined with her addiction to a good book had made her temporarily leave the earth. Alright, so that happened with just about any factors but still most of the time it wasn't as if heat threatened her very existence. She could just feel her epidermis slowly melting away. However she had no more time to worry about melting away as her ...person? friend? What could she exactly call him, she wondered. They'd not talked in a while so a relationship, whatever it may be, had not been properly established. She liked him, that she's known since their first meeting so at this point she was just anxious to know what he thought. But with their previous conversation it was hard to tell as he wasn't very open with his feelings or with anything for that matter. That's what she liked though; he kept her guessing in a good way.
She smiled as he approached her, "You summoned me, Miss Labonte?" he asked and she could feel her legs turn to jello. She had hadn't she? And yet, like the idiot she was, couldn't give a reason as to why. Well she could but she wasn't that stupid. Clearing her throat she stood up and fixed her clothing just as he started to speak again. "Yes, I did." she said, clearing her throat again, "It has been a while, since last winter I believe." Wow, had they really gone that long without talking; talk about slow progression. She was sure other people that had met around the time they had were already planning weddings and house hunting. Shut up, Tinley. They both watched as the owl that'd been on his arm suddenly wiggled around before jumping onto his shoulder and got comfortable. Smiling wider she returned her gaze to the tall, blonde boy in front of her. "Oh, I've been alright." she replied, swinging her arms and leaning up against the tree.
She'd forgotten that her shoes were lying discarded in her dormitory, intending on shoving them into the water later that day. "How have you been, Mr. Salvatore? Also well I hope, if not better." Here was an interesting fact, even though his voice made her knees buckle she wasn't afraid to talk with him. She didn't have a problem with having guys as friends but Klaus was a different story; she didn't see him as just a friend nor did she want to if she was honest. To herself that is. She could talk to him easily without laughing like a lunatic at every word he said or blushing the color of a beet when he look at her. Most of the time anyway. "Uh..uh, what weather having right? I'm surprised a volcano isn't sat right next to us." she stammered. Yes, talk about the weather Tinley, you are truly the worlds greatest conversationalist. woot woot! it sounds fine ^_^ no worries. |

"Yes, I did. It has been a while, since last winter I believe."
Truly, he couldn't believe his ears when she spoke. Has it really been that long? Basically a year had passed and he didn't even know it. Or, well, he probably did know it, since he had lived a year longer after all, it just seemed to go so quickly. How had they gone so long without speaking to each other? They were at the very least friends, he knew that much, though just hearing the word friend ring in his head like a bell pulled his mood down slightly. Of course he had liked her from the get go, he knew that much; he was just silently kicking himself as he continuously thought about a whole wasted year. Well, here he was, there they were. Klaus forced himself to perk up slightly, trying to make it seem like nothing untoward was showing on his expression... Gah, enough with the over thinking... He was even more annoyed with himself now.
Klaus turned his vibrant blue eyes back on her, opening his mouth to utter a response, but was then stopped by an annoyed peck from the owl on his shoulder. It obviously seemed to be gathering how tense he was. Giving a small sigh, he finally managed a smile as he reached up to give the tiny bird a small stroke on one of its wings. Well, if nothing else he felt slightly better, funny how the small things normally made a difference. He blinked back at Tinley, and gave an even bigger more noticeable sigh. She looked so beautiful - her long red locks, her dress, her pale skin, the upbeat or thoughtful looks that always seemed to be there... and she had been on his mind for so long, it was hard to believe that she had been the one to contact him first. He was such a coward. It took a lot for him to not close his eyes and grimace heavily, but instead he continued to stand tall although his eyes still felt downcast. "It's been too long..." he spoke quietly, although loud enough just for her to hear since she was standing within close proximity to him. "I mean, it's my fault, I realize that! Friends or, well, whatever we are, we shouldn't have to meet every year, right? You shouldn't have had the one to call me out, it didn't seem... right." He was spluttering out all this nonsense, close to panicking more than he usually had been to in his life, and he wasn't quite sure where he was going with his small feeble attempt at an excuse either.
Klaus blinked and swallowed as he managed to fall silent. Of course she couldn't really manage to see him blinking or looking much at her anyway, so he decided to take the glasses off and hang them over the edge of his shirt - practical and he basically had nowhere else to put them anyway. "Well, that's good at least," he finally said, watching her as she learned against the tree. She was good, so that meant all things were good, right? If there had been something wrong she would have told him or called him sooner wouldn't she have? So many thoughts were still flitting through his mind and he was having a hard time filtering them. "I've been alright, as good as could be." He managed to give her a half hearted attempt at a smile, and half succeeded, though it probably looked pretty awkward. Really though, he was likely acting like a jackass compared to the last time - and first time - she met him, which also worried him to no end. This was still all pretty new to him anyway, as odd as it sounded. He was more used to being cold and aloof not shy and stumbling over every other word, but for some reason this is what effect this human female had on him, and it was refreshing all the same. "Yeah, the weather is just lovely..." he mumbled in agreement, though what seemed to be a second later something snapped in him. He wasn't sure whether it was Tinley's bad attempt at trying to start up a conversation about the weather, or his obsessive thoughts running around his brain like a roadrunner, but he felt like something in his brain sparked. Literally. He quickly stepped towards her, his eyes widening further - showing off the purplish pink dots that were swimming in his iris' - and spoke, spoke quite loudly. "Tinley! I know we haven't known each other long- well, we've known each other a year but that doesn't cound! Will you marry- wait, go out with me, I mean." If it was possible, he would have turned the colour of the sun with a slip up such as that. Woops, Klaus, going a bit fast aren't we? Klaus quickly set up a defense mechanism by looking at the ground again. It was certainly better than staring at her like some kind of crazed lunatic whilst panting loudly like someone who ran a hundred miles non-stop. Doing anything was quite literally better than that.[/blockquote] tagged . Tinley <3 words . 866 notes . Sorry if it's a bit awkward ^^; *flops around*

While she wouldn't admit that she'd practically stalked him in the halls or whenever he passed her she would readily admit how even more handsome he'd grown since their last meeting. Lucky for her that she was sitting up against a tree otherwise his eyes alone would cause her legs to completely give out. They already felt like jelly and he stomach was in knots. The urge to say something stupid was on the tip of her tongue, threatening her. "Oh don't even worry about it." she reassured him, watching as he continued to sputter on his words.
Even that was cute. Laying her book aside she wiggled up from the ground, listening intently to his words. Just as she stood up his tone suddenly became excited and she looked up at him, hoping that he wasn't having some type of fit. The look in his eye told her that wasn't it but it was the next line of words he shouted at her that made her breath catch in her throat. Silently choking she stared at him wide eyed. After all the months of turning into a pro stalker, after one awkward conversation, now two, he was asking her out. Slowly but surely her face deepened to twice the color of her hair. The chilly air grew boiling hot and she had the urge to jump into the lake. That and shout from the tallest tower that she, Tinley, now had a boyfriend. Well, she would as soon as she said, "Yes."
Stomping over to him, she breathed heavily and her nostrils flared. Hoping to the school founders above the she had no bats in the cave she flung her arms around him and kissed him. It was a moment she'd been waiting for. She didn't want to let him know this was her first kiss but it was the best first kiss. Perfect. Stepping back she attempted to slow her breathing, hands positioned on his shoulders. "I would love to go out with you." she told him after a few minutes. "And after a few years," she looked at him, into his eyes and smiled, "Maybe you can ask me to marry you again." Her cheeks began to hurt from smiling so much but she refused to stop. There they stood, together at last. "I'll tell you, this was a moment worth waiting a year for." taking forever to reply! lol but awwwwwww :D |

Well, now that was out in the open, Klaus had time to relax. He had been thinking about doing that for a while now, contemplating more than once a day. Of course he hadn't seen her in so long, but that hadn't stopped him really. Heck, he even started thinking about it when he least expected it, and managed to successfully run into a wall or two - the bruises of which managed to vanish after a while but he still felt a twinge from where they were, from time to time. But like a dream, she was here in front of him now and he managed to ask her out. Though the way she was looking at him made him think she thought he crawled out of a car accident or something. Maybe that's what it sounded like. He did stumble a bit too for for a bit too long over the words that almost refused to come out. Thinking about that made him twinge, though hardly noticeably so. Instead of thinking back on that thought, he took a deep breath and focused, still unsure as to what she'd say, though he was rather pleasantly surprised by her actual reaction instead of the one randomly playing out in his head.
"Yes."
She had turned bright red like a tomato, several shades darker than her hair, which he was astonished to see. And then she did what he hardly expected would occur next, she bounded over to him and kissed him. It was so light and sweet, he hardly felt it as she released him and stepped back. It was all happening so quickly he wasn't sure what was going to occur next. Klaus wasn't really all that experienced with relationships, he'd never even held hands with a girl before, so this was certainly something new, and something he wasn't going to let go of in a hurry, or at all if he could help it. And then she spoke again, cutting through his thoughts like a small blade of grass. "Marriage huh..." he muttered thoughtfully to himself. That was the one thing that accidently slipped out and he hadn't meant Tinley to hear, but she seemed willing to consider it in a few years or so... not that either of them were ready for such a thing so soon anyway. Klaus really thought he could kick himself for uttering such things, but took a small breath to calm himself instead. Everyone slips up every now and again, and it wasn't as if she was rejecting the idea. So as long as it took, he vowed to prove himself to her, one way or another. "Well now, I'm glad you accept," he said quietly, giving her a gentle smile as he looked down at her through sapphire coloured eyes. She seemed to be even more ecstatic than before, and he was glad that he managed to bring her so much happiness, if only a little. Slowly, he stepped towards her, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her to him in a light hug. "So then... as a couple, what do we do now?" He tried to leave off the I haven't done this before part off, since he wasn't too sure if inexperienced guys were what girls usually sought after. She could possibly have read between the lines though, as he didn't seem to be the type to normally date around, as old as he was - which she didn't really know about either. There really was so much to tell her and explain, but they had all the time in the world now, and he was sure she'd understand. He felt somewhat comforted as he embraced her as well, she was right in that it was worth waiting a year for and as much as it made him nervous to do this, he really felt like he couldn't stop. Not now, not ever. Though she'd probably smother if he didn't, so he resigned himself to doing so eventually. "I guess I'll accept marriage will be one day, but I suppose one step a time, huh. That depends if you're willing to put up with me until then, of course." It was one of those rare moments when he felt confident to just speak his mind without stuttering, but at the moment he felt content enough to do so. One day, one day, he hoped...[/blockquote] tagged . Tinley <3 words . 734 notes . Grawr, not much to work with but do whatever to Klaus as you wish! *waves arms* XD

"I've never actually done this before. Being someones girlfriend that is." Her participation in the game of dating was rather, well nonexistent. Until she met Klaus the furthest she'd ever gone in a relationship was a one-sided crush kept deep deep deeeeeep in the depths of her heart. "Rare are the moments of romance I've had." It was a very tiring thing to like someone and be brutally rejected. Though the rejection was never actually spoken. Nevertheless she couldn't think of a thing for them do besides what they were doing already. Her spirits had been lifted tremendously and Tinley was content with just standing there encased in his arms. Taking a deep breath, she looked up at him, green into soul shocking blue. How in the heavens she reeled in such a magnificent person would remain forever a mystery to her but there were no complaints to be had on her part.
"We've got years." she reassured him, placing her arms on his shoulders, hoping that this newly founded romance would go past their days of school. They both had such a long way to go but she wasn't sure that she'd ever want to separate from him. A little desperate and odd if she thought about it, which she didn't. "I think I'll be able to manage it. It isn't hard to want to be around you." she admitted to him, a large grin plastered on her face. The thing was Tinley had never felt so strongly about another person, never wanted to be around them so much like she did with Klaus. He was entirely different from anyone she'd ever met and in some of the most incredible ways. Guys had made her giddy before but Klaus made her knees give out, legs turn to jello, and caused butterflies to erupt in her belly. She supposed it was love really, pure adoration and love. She was of course going to to keep that to herself so as to not scare him off.
"Perhaps the first thing we should do is get to know more about one another." Tinley realized that despite having such deep conversations previously, they knew very little about one another. She figured they had been too caught up in their feelings and being so damn shy that they never really played twenty questions. This made her think of another reason why he was so perfect: He knew how much she liked to chatter and he STILL wanted to be with her. Life, and luck, it seemed, were finally on her side. only about a month late! haha, hope it's alright :3 |

"I've never actually done this before. Being someones girlfriend that is."
Klaus couldn't help but feel slightly stunned after she said that to him. She really hadn't dated anyone before? Of course he was fine with that, more than fine, since he hadn't exactly done any such thing himself, but due to what kind of person she was... beautiful, smart, confident, lots of friends... he had been quite sure that she had quite a few past boyfriends lurking in her history. Then again, she did seem rather... pure, not that anyone else she'd ever known would mess that opinion of his up. "Well you're still young, so there's plenty of opportunity's for romance yet to be had," he stated lightly as he smiled down at her. "Especially now. Although we can take it as slowly as you want to, of course, m'lady." Well she was young at least, he was appearance wise. But still, over a hundred and yet no romances were in sight... even his cousin Drystan mocked him for that, but then... he was always a bit out there, even if the other person didn't want him; all of that always repulsed him. No romances were in sight, until now, that was. It was a curious thing, but made him entirely happy, that's for sure, which tended to be a rarity in itself these days. Klaus inhaled a small breath, deciding that for the sake of any relationship with Tinley he had to be more upbeat and less dreary. Some of the things that he figured girls didn't like in guys were broodiness and silence, so he had to make an effort to correct that sometime soon, somehow anyway.
"Years? How many would you estimate?" he questioned, his smile turning slightly teasing. "I'd say a long time, if you don't get bored of me, that is." He certainly hoped she didn't, but then that was the type of thing one worries about when it seems like you're dating someone out of your league. Klaus tried not to frown at that small lapse of thought; it was a happy moment and the least he wanted to do was ruin it by thinking of such negatives that would probably not be true. No, he had to be content with the moment - which he was - as he felt Tinley's hands on his shoulders, his arms wrapped lightly around her waist... he marveled about how small she seemed, as if he could break her at the slightest touch. Though fortunally he wasn't a vampire or something so he didn't have much to worry about as far as abnormal strength went.
Understanding crossed his face as she spoke her next words and he nodded. "Well, there's not really much to say about me..." It was true that they had spoken about many things before, but not in much detail. There wasn't much about his own life that was of interest anyway. No, he was quite a bit more curious to learn about Tinley, and what made her so lovable and so intriguing to be around. "So then, tell me about yourself! You said that you hadn't had much experience as far as relationships go, which I really find hard to believe, so..." And then he stopped. It was funny, he hadn't really spoken this much in one time to anyone before, and yet this one person, this one human, brought it out of him. Klaus couldn't help but blush slightly at that, once again becoming wary and unsure of himself. Another minutes pause went by, then he took another deep breath. "Or we could take turns, I'm sure we'd learn a lot about each other in time anyway, but since we're here..." He moved one arm from her slightly and motioned to the grass next to the tree she'd been sitting under before. "Want to sit down while we do this? We'll probably get leg cramps if we stand here the entire time." Awkward. That was one word to describe him as he spoke. He hoped that it didn't sound too forward or anything, he was usually the type who was either quiet or sounded indecisive no matter what he did.

"Yes, well, I'd rather just concentrate on the romance I have now." Glancing up at him she smiled thinking of how lucky she was. It was unlike guys to allow relationships to go slowly and they always seemed to go south quickly but not with Klaus, she told herself. He was giving her the choice to go day by day, to understand each other slowly and she liked that. She liked that about him as well. He had never been one to give her the impression that he was pushy or impatient. Then again, he could be and had only kept it secret out of politeness. This only made her grin even more and she hoped to Merlin she was creeping him out already. "If at any point you want to speed things up, you don't have to ask." she told him, tossing a wink in his direction.
Smiling at his question, she mulled it over in her mind. "Hoping you don't get tired of me I'd say a very long time." It seemed silly to count on such a thing but Tinley found herself wanting all to be true. That even years from now they'd be just as smitten with one another as they were now. Such thoughts gave her a warm feeling within her heart and did nothing to stop her Cheshire smile. Chuckling she titled her head to the side, "I'm sure there is ton of things I don't know yet. Like," she paused, thinking for a few seconds, "Like where are you from?" She'd only ever gotten a pretty general answer but she'd always known there was more to it than what he'd told her. "Oh, and it's true. Relationship type things have never come easily for me. I always seem unable to keep anyone around me for more than a few minutes. I was beginning to think I was cursed." Being her age and a total of zero romances wasn't as bad as she'd thought before. It was nice to know that she'd not wasted long moments of her life on someone that wouldn't have appreciated as much as Klaus did. "But then I met you and that whole thing went out the window." Tucking a strand of hair behind her ears, she took hold of his hands suddenly filled with the urge to touch him. It was funny how something as simple as a relationship status change made a person see another in an entirely different light. Not that she hadn't always seen him as hers. It was just that it was now all true.
As he motioned for her to take a seat with him, she asked him another question. "What about you? I find it hard to believe that someone like you, handsome, smart, kind, wouldn't have any previous flings." Though just thinking about such things made her feel uncomfortable, she wanted to know they'd be able to talk about such things with each other. Unless that was something she was about to learn he didn't enjoy. Quickly she placed a hand on his knee and said, "But you don't have to of course. I know not everyone enjoys talking about such things." That was something Tinley had learned that hard way many years ago. Apparently, people did not enjoy being pushed for answer of any sort. Cringing at the memory, she averted her attention back to Klaus and smiled. and this is late again! sorry for that and any errors. |

Klaus nodded understandably. From what he heard of, girls were usually the ones who preferred relqtionships to go slowly whereas guys tended to speed things up, but being as clearly inexperienced as both of them where, starting off slow seemed to be the perfect starting point for them. He smiled back at her, intending to verbally reply to her, which then froze. She was giving him a strange looking expression - making her look like the Cheshire Cat in a way - which only served to make him raise an eyebrow, as if asking her 'what kind of jellyfish are you'? He didn't say that out loud though in case she thought he was a few cards short of a full deck. Instead, he raised a clenched hand and coughed awkwardly into it. "Um, well,"
he started, trying to regain his barings from that odd moment that had just passed. Once again he smiled at her and then said, "hey, we can go as fast or slow as you like. I'm just tagging along for the ride." He used a light tone of voice - his usual tone that he spoke in - as he made a subtle yet rare joke. If it could even qualify as a joke. Truly, he didn't want to bore her by making them be in a slow relationship for too long if she wanted to speed things up, after all. He generally couldn't help but have a tiny smirk on his face as she winked at him. It was almost reassuring in a way, that she was so courteous about giving him options, however he still stood by what he said anyway. He felt like such big decisions were for her to decide, not him, and he'd do anything to make her happy when it came down to it. "Tired of you? Hardly. Red heads are supposed to be the most fun above all others, after all," he replied, giving her a teasing smile as he moved a hand to caress one small tendril of her copper coloured hair. It was probably silly thinking of such things for the time being, on the same day they agreed to become boyfriend and girlfriend, especially after what seemed to be a year of only thinking about each other with no signs of communication. No, he was quite sure this was for keeps. He couldn't have been more sure of anything or anyone else in his life. Then she asked him where he was from, which in itself was a long story. Usually when asked that he was pretty vague, he didn't really know how else to answer it. "Well... you know, here and there," he started, looking as if he was brushing off the question with another vague reply. Then he sighed, resigning himself to the situation. He was actually pretty surprised they hadn't gone into much depth on these things before, but then it had been a long time since they last met, and some facts they had given each other about themselves clearly needed refreshing too. "If you must know though, I'm from America. Born in Italy, though." There we go. He wasn't sure if he'd told her that before, but it was pretty much the truth. Even if she didn't know he was born in Italy, he had faint traces of an American accent, though you couldn't hear it too well if you didn't listen hard enough. Otherwise perhaps he'd tell her more if she wanted it, but he wasn't terribly too fond of relieving his past. He would do with her if she was that curious though. "You must be cursed if you like me the way you do," he commented, giving her a slight smile as if reassuring her that he wasn't serious. Or was he? Well, cursed would have sounded a bit too harsh for that, but he was quite sure that he'd never end up dating anyone, regardless as to where he was or who he spoke to. Truth be told, he never actually thought about it, not until a year ago, not until now, at the very least. "Well I'll make sure that you wont need to think such things again," he spoke gently as she grabbed his hands and he squeezed hers in return lightly. So, as they sat down she seemed to be ready with another question, which made him thoughtful. "Nothing really springs to mind..." he said slowly. In the faerie mounds the guards were usually on call for when the queen requested them, but he had never been selected for that, which was something he never really cared about. The queen was... rather violent, outside and inside of the bedroom, fortunally that all seemed like a bad dream to him now. A very bad yet vivid dream. "It's all worked out fine though, better to have no experience than to...." Yep, as he said it his cousin Drystan sprang to mind, and he was... well, he got around a lot, let's just say. "I don't want to be one of those people who ends up with many girlfriends or flings, I just want to be with one person, and that's it. And I think I may have just found her." Ever so slightly, he bumped against her shoulder with his own as she rested a hand on his knee. "But I don't think you want to hear about my dreary life, so let's talk about you," he said quickly, feeling slightly tense but urging himself to calm down a bit, it was a nice day and he was sitting with his newly found girlfriend, what was there to be tense about? "Where are you from? How many siblings do you have? Any pets? What's your favourite type of beverage?" He was asking a whirlwind of questions now in such a short time, he hoped Tinley could keep up with them all, and excuse his still nervous temperament. [/blockquote] [/blockquote] tagged . Her incessant grinning like a loon had creeped him out. Watching him apprehensively she wondered exactly how awkward she'd made things. Probably a ton. The way he shifted on his feet and stifled a cough gave most of it away. It wasn't until he returned her smile from before that she left her shoulder relax. Feeling as if he legs would give any second she nodded at him. "You're quite the gentleman. We can wait and see what happens." Leaving it all to time seemed a much easier path in her opinion. "We've no need to rush really."
Chuckling she titled her head and said, "Isn't that blondes? But i'll agree with you. It's been my life experience to know that redheads are indeed pretty fun." Obviously the only way she could prove that would be by being fun. And she easily thought she was without giving herself a huge ego. She watched him as his hand moved to touch a piece of her hair. Despite her lack of a love life she found that she had no reservations about this level of intimacy with him. It felt right. It felt natural. Staring up she enjoyed the soft silence that fell between them.
Here and there. Well that was a pretty vague answer but she didn't push it. This was a subject that he seemed reluctant to talk about so soon and she understood why. Their situation was anything but normal so it wasn't a surprise that he was so reserved even after their newest decision. "America? You're accent hides it pretty well." she said with a smile, "Do you miss it? What's it like? What part of the States are you from?" Tinley herself had never been but she'd often read about a lot of the different states and things while she was back home. "Oh Italy is beautiful. Do you spend any time there?" she asked him. Obviously his surname could quickly help a person identify his origins but Tinley had known, from the very start, that there was more to Klaus than meets the eye. In time she was sure (hoping anyway) that he'd reveal more to her but at the present time she was fine with whatever answer he gave her.
"Cursed? I've been blessed my darling Klaus." She told him truthfully. "You've sold yourself short for too long. You really are a wonderful person and I couldn't ask for someone better to like." She found herself watching him again as he talked. Their hands stayed connect and neither of them moved to pull away the whole time they talked. His next response caused her to smile her most brightest yet. "It might be a bit cliche to say it but I feel the same. I feel like I've found the one I'm meant to be with." Grinning as his shoulder bumped hers, she shook her head, tendrils of hair swishing around, "I suppose we can talk about my boring life for now." Stretching out on the grass she readied herself for any questions he had for her.
She was momentarily taken aback by his sudden outburst of questions but it barely lasted before she answered him. "I'm from England. Surrey by birth but I was raised in London. I've got a brother and two sisters and all older. No pets no thanks to my mum. And anything really: tea, water, and chocolate shakes are my top 3 choices. Chocolate easily winning over the other two." She spun out her answers as fast as he had with his questions. The only other difference was that she'd just naturally began to babble while he seemed to shiver with nervousness. "How about you? Any of the above?" she asked him, placing a reassuring had on his shoulder hoping that it would help calm him down some. It'd probably been her hand on his knee that triggered it and she had to stop from biting her tongue. please ignore any grammar mistakes :3 and hai ♥ |

She called him a gentleman? He struggled to control his slight look of bewilderment, and quickly adjusted it to be a small polite smile instead. It was only natural to go slowly though, it wasn't as if he was one of those people who dived into relationships for the mere hope of being married or something. Heck, after all his years of living, he even had slight doubts about the concept of it. But in time he was sure that both him and Tinley would be accustomed to the idea, a more appropriate time.. perhaps even years away. He was willing to wait though. If there was anything he was perfectly good at it was that: waiting. Although he need not think of it as a typical thing to be patient over; being in a relationship and all that was a perfectly good thing, scary but good. He should be looking forward to such things as well as enjoying the present as well. He made a small note of this as he gave her a contemplating look.
"Well, I think blondes are slightly more ditzy. Not that it's a bad thing," he added quickly, giving her a cautious look before continuing. "Of course I also know that redheads are creative, and firey and.. well, above all, fun." He gave her a slight teasing smile as he finished. All the qualities he listed as he smoke made him more excited for things to come, not that he showed it of course. He never really was good with emotions or expressing himself, though he was quikly learning. He was very much anticipating spending more time with her and making up for lost time, which - of course - still made him wonder why he hadn't sought her out ages before now. He was glad that she had no reservations about his stroking of her hair though. If she had he knew that he would have probably, surprisingly and shockingly jumped back, and in the position they were in either or both would have fallen over, or otherwise had their egos bruised if nothing else.
Being vague and giving short replies was pretty much a bad habit of his, mainly due to his unwillingless to talk and unwillingness when it came to his past. With Tinley though, for some reason it felt easier to open up, and he knew that as he watched her stand there with a vibrant glow that reminded him of the light fireflies normally gave off. Klaus struggled not to smile at that thought. Firefly, huh? It kinda suited her, and he wasn't usually the type of give nicknames to people either. "Aha, yeah. Mostly lived in America, but no one would really know that unless they asked. To which I'd reply with the original vague answer I gave you." He smiled lightly at her again, which then froze as more questions were fired at him, as if it was a quickfire round on a quiz show. "Oh, er..." He looked baffled, to say the least, but then looked to the sky thoughtfully, contemplating his next response. "I don't actually miss it that much, truthfully. Back there I had so little freedom, so to be here is rather exhilarating." Klaus looked down at her again, another smile forming, a blush forming across his cheeks a moment before he quickly looked away again. "A-And as for your last question..." he then added, still looking kind of embarrassed. It seemed to be a constant loop with him, stuttering, feeling embarrassed, picking himself up again, and then the cycle continues. "Illinois. But like I said, can't say I really miss it though. I was there for such a long, long time after all..."
Perhaps maybe what he said clashed a little, since people tended to miss the place where they stayed the most. He could say for definite that it wasn't the case with him though. "Ah, Italy... well... no." He felt like he could just keel over sideways at that. She seemed eager to hear all there was to know about the country and yet he'd never even been there... not once. "My mother was Italian but can't say I've even been there before," he said timidly, finally managing to trail off. "But hey, it's close enough to France, maybe we can go sometime, eventually," he then added, snatching up some courage and running with it as he gave her a slight smile. At her text words his smile grew wider until he actually managed a grin that mirrored hers. Kinda. He wasn't sure if he was trying to mirror it, but this was something that wasn't too common but what he did't mind. He had a reason to smile and be happy with now, so smiling more than he should every once in a while wasn't going to make him explode or burn out, he hoped.
Ahhh, now she started talking about herself, and he keenly leaned in towards her in order to listen more carefully. He hadn't met that many humans before he started at Beauxbatons, so this would be the first time he was listening to someone talk about themselves and be actually interested by what he was hearing. "Well..." he said in what appeared to be a breath, and then trembling slightly when she suddenly touched his shoulder. Dammit boy, get it together! he yelled at himself as he gave her a quick smile. "Thanks, I'm fine, really. Just the... atmosphere is all..." Did he really just say that? It was a beautiful day, not even a gust or wind or anything scary was drifting by, and yet somehow he used that as an excuse to explain his nervous behaviour. "Um, well. I don't have any siblings, or pets. A couple of my cousins attend the school though." He ended that sentance by glowering at the ground and muttering. Most likely the first sign of something other than a polite shy by from what Tinley had seen. He raised both aqua coloured eyes back to the scarlett haired girl again, before continuing as if that moment never happened. "Well, since coming here I've grown accustomed to drinking soda and certain types of shakes which I hadn't had the chance to try before. Chocolate is particulary nice," he finished by agreeing, a smile once again appearing. He watched her for a moment. He was still all bundled up after he'd slid down the tree in a bid to sit down. He silently groaned as he uncurled himself and stretched out, very well aware that anyone could be watching him or Tinley would be observing and thinking so many things... Klaus turned his head quickly to look at her, almost wide eyed, before quickly turning back to glance at the grass in front of him again. "So, you've been here a long time now. Make many friends?" he asked, his voice a whisper as he suddenly addressed her with another question.

Tinley never considered herself a ditz but she was often forgetful about many things. And would sometimes take a while to get jokes but she felt that there was nothing wrong with it. As did Klaus it seemed. "I've been told that. Do you think i'm fun Klaus?" she offered him a wink.
Her smile was lost for a second as she contemplated his answer. "Well that's understandable. If you didn't like your home too much why would you miss it?" She knew the feeling all too well. Tinley then what had occured to compromise his freedom. Why he didn't particularly desire to have any part of it but that was a question for another moment. "We should, maybe during a term break we can go? You'll love it." Perking up at the sound of cousins attending the academy, Tinley smiled with excitement. "Really? Would I know them? That's really lovely that you have family here." She said, inching closer to him. His next answer struck Tinley as slightly odd and she tilted her head in confusion. "You mean you've never tried any of those things before?" She could tell he was starting to feel uncomfortable and she wished more than anything to be able to help. Letting her hands slide back into her lap, she figured offering him a bit of space would help his nerves roll back down into a normal setting.
"Yeah, I have." she told him with a soft chuckle, "Enough to be comfortable I suppose. I don't do too well in large crowds of people, never have to be honest." Looking up, she spoke even softer, offering him a warm smile. "I guess I prefer books to people still. I like the quiet you know?" Tinley glanced up at him, "What about you?" sorry if it's kinda awkward, I tried not to write too much |

Klaus nodded and half smirked. "Of course you're fun, from what little I've seen so far. There's plenty of other ways to show me more of your fun side." Maybe dragging him to that side too would help him a bit as well, perhaps to loosen up. Ah yes, he really couldn't wait for that day to arrive. However, most of his life he had been a rather cold individual, as well as antisocial, just glaring at people who bothered to speak to him. Now he was as shy as can be, and he didn't really know whether his old self was better than his new one. Well, Tinley would have liked him a lot less, that's for sure.
"Yeah..." he agreed thoughtfully, stretching out his legs as he looked up towards the sky as if in contemplation. "Some places are better off forgotten. However, as to that..."
He was quite intrigued by her proposition to go to Italy on term break sometime. He burst out in a grin and nodded enthusiastically. "It's a plan then! Might take a while until the next break, but it's something to look forward to at least." Ah, the thought of going to Italy... can't say it hadn't played at his thoughts more than once, but at least he now had a reason to follow through with the thought. He was broken out of his little daydream by the mention of his cousins, which made him visibly cringe. "W-Well, I wouldn't say that it's lovely as such..." he replied in a very low tone, watching as she inched closer, clearly interested by something he just said. "I mean.. one of them, Maeve, she's alright... I guess... don't really see or speak to her that much. It's the other one, her.. brother" - he ended up tripping over the word - "he's the one you really need to stay away from." After that he fell awkwardly silent, but was then quickly and eagerly distracted by her next comment. "Well no, it's mostly water and other... less likable drinks there." He pulled a face as he recalled all the stuff there. "But that's why I like this place better! There's so much to see, do, drink and eat." Klaus looked particularly content for a moment, but then quickly shifted back into awkwardness mode again, which made Tinley shift away slightly. He couldn't help but wonder if he was making her uncomfortable with his uncomfortableness. "Ah yes," Klaus agreed, uttering a small chuckle. "I'm quite partial to books myself, which is why I wonder sometimes why I'm in Sournois." Maybe family related issues he grudgingly thought to himself. "And truth be told, you're pretty much one of my only friends, if not the only friend. Shows how much of a social reject I am huh?" His cheeks flushed with embarrassment again. That wasn't actually supposed to leave his mouth. Too late now.[/blockquote] [/blockquote] tagged . Tinley <3 words . 483 notes . Yay for shorter posts xD
