This is what the young Cossu male wondered as he was lying on his bed and was able to see the moon staring back at him directly from his window as he tried to get some sleep. He was unable to do so. It was always during full moon that he found it hardest to fall asleep and he wasn’t quite sure why even. But didn’t many others suffer from full moon’s spell as well? His grandmother was the same at least. His roommates were all asleep, so it didn’t seem to affect them in any way. He let out a heavy sigh, turned around and let his back face the moon as if trying to tell it that he didn’t like it. This was a lie of course. He loved the moon and the stars, but who wouldn’t? They were glimmering and shining so very beautifully. They were like diamonds. Or rather diamonds were like stars. Perhaps that’s why women loved them so much. Geez. He’ll never get any sleep. He really can’t stop his mind from thinking. He tried burying his head under the below, hoping that he would fall asleep a lot easier if he wouldn’t be able to see the glimmering of the moon, but after a moment it got hard to breathe so he had to remove to pillow after which he rose to sit. Yeah, he wouldn’t be sleeping tonight. Normally he would fall asleep under any kind of circumstance, but no, not during full moon! Cursed full moon. He took a glance of his roommates before getting up, put some clothes on and took his skates with him as he headed out of the dorm. The common room was quiet and only one candle was lighting the room anymore, but you were still able to see so very clearly there as if all the lights were on, because the moon shined so brightly. He looked out of the window again, pouting at the moon and said aloud, “Now you’re just showing off! Dim that light!”, but the moon didn’t listen to him; just smirked evilly back (that’s what he imagined it doing). Soon the common room was far behind him and after hopping down a few cases of stairs he finally headed out from the side door and towards the frozen lake. Last time he had skated was about a year ago and back then he had met Tinley. A small smile formed upon his lips as he thought about his friend who was quite a lot of fun and pretty much as crazy as he was. Crazy in a good way. The two had hit it off instantly. It wasn’t that cold, although his cheeks felt frozen already, but it was just the right good amount, especially because he would get warm while he skated. He put on his skates and started tying them carefully, so that they wouldn’t be too loose, because then for sure he would twist his ankle. That really wouldn’t be an option, because he had promised to Jae Syun that they would go to the auditorium tomorrow to practice dancing. Otherwise their skills would get rusty. It was too bad that there were no art classes in magical schools. Or not even after class clubs. After he finished tying his skates he got up and slid gently on the ice, looking down the whole time. The ice seemed strong and thick, so he wouldn’t have to worry about sinking. Perhaps it had been spelled thicker. Little by little he gained more and more speed before doing a small spin, even jumping a bit, but he always lost his balance, so he decided to be more careful. He was a bit rusty. As he calmly skated he looked up at the sky, stunned by all the twinkling stars that made him wonder whether it would be cool to be an astronaut. The light of the moon felt like it was a spotlight. A spotlight that shined the whole lake. He closed his eyes for a moment as he kept sliding forward, imagining his biggest dream coming true; the stage, the props, the spotlights, the music… the Broadway. Slowly he opened his eyes and stopped skating for a moment, looking down at the ice at his own reflection. No. His destiny had long been decided even before his birth and he would be the president of the NAM –group. Have a normal muggle life. Almost normal. Hyo Joon grinned a bit as he continued to skate again, wondering if anyone else was awake. Half of him wished he had some company, but the other half hoped that no one was nearby in case he wouldn’t be able to control his vampire senses. He still wasn’t in full control of his new self. It really was far from easy to ignore the blood lust and it made him wonder how there even were any normal living people on the earth left! How were the vampires able to contain themselves so well? Perhaps one day he would learn it too. © melly welly from caution 2.0 | LYRICS BY FLORENCE & THE MACHINE OUTFIT: HERE | MUSIC: SNOW | NOTES: OPEN TO ALL! PM IF YOU GOT ANY QUESTIONS! (: |
