Being here was definitely going to take some getting used to. It had been a couple of week already since Giselle found herself boarding a train from Paris to Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. She had always seen magic being used in their home, since her mother was a witch and used it for almost everything. Here at the school, the magical world surrounded her. The pictures moved and the ghosts talked. Their meals were served to them with magic and all the classes were magic based. It was a strange concept she had yet to grasp, and yet she had no choice. She had to be here. She was an orphan now, an orphan who also lost her twin sister. Gabriella would have loved it here. Giselle’s blue eyes wandered over to the empty bed in her dormitory. Both she and Gabby could have come here without having to be forced to do so. It could have been a fun experience for the both of them. If only that accident hadn’t taken her life and that of her parents.
If only
It was freezing out, but Giselle had a free weekend of no homework or projects and wanted to take advantage of it. Her pink colored notebook sat on her desk, calling her name to play some of the music she wrote and write lyrics to them…finally. She had maybe 5 songs in their with no lyrics yet, only because she couldn’t seem to focus enough on them before her depression sunk in. She missed her family and always had them on her mind, even on her best days. The friends she had made her tried to keep her busy, but she ultimately always ended up back in her dormitory staring and counting the flecks on her ceiling.
Giselle decided to get dressed and see what places in the village she could find. She hadn’t really gotten a chance to go there yet. She slipped on a pair of jeans, a cream colored long sleeve top, a her favorite pair of cream heels. She loved heels. Giselle could honestly walk around in heels all day and her feet would never hurt. She picked up her guitar case and flung it over her shoulder and, walking by her desk, picked up her pink notebook, shoved it in her red handbag, and left for the Rue de Paradis.
The village was abuzz with tons of students all shopping and chatting. Kids had begun returning from Christmas break and, probably for the same reason she was here, were wandering the streets trying to find something to do. Some sat outside of the Pub, sipping their bottles of Butterbeer and catching the glances of members of the opposite sex as they walked by. Some left stores with bags and bags of things in their hands. Giselle rolled her eyes. Was there not a peaceful place around here that she could just sit quietly and work on her music? She continued to walk by the store fronts, her eyes turning down ever alley way and small street looking for a deserted place. After the shop fronts had disappeared behind her, Giselle spotted a park in the distance. It was cold out. Surely there would not be a lot of people out in a park.
She had lucked out. Joli Park honestly could not have been anymore perfect. It looked like a jungle, with peaceful sounds of nature on at all angles. A few people were here, most making out on the park benches, but as long as their wasn’t giggling or yelling, Giselle could work on the music. She sat at a bench and placed her guitar case on the floor beside her. Removing her guitar from it, she placed the body of it on her lap and, with her left hand on the neck, began to strum. Maybe she could get something done today.
