[atrb=border, 0, true][atrb=style, line-height:80%;][atrb=style, width:350px; padding:10px; background:#ffffff;] SO JUST FORGET ABOUT THE WORLD, WE'RE YOUNG TONIGHT Kabriel lay under her covers, staring at her ceiling in contemplation. She had heard that there was going to be a sudden warm front heading up France and at first she didn't quite believe it. Well, there she was lying under her winter comforter and she was beginning to feel the sweat under her back. She exhaled and gripped the end of her blanket. She hated that feeling in the morning, the one where you get out from under the covers and are greeted by that cool wind. She would rather burn to death than face that. She inhaled a deep breath of air and lifted the covers off her small frame and exhaled when she felt a cool breeze wash over her bare legs and arms. She shivered and sat up, clutching her knees to her chest and looking around her room. She had heard her two roommates getting up and leaving about thirty minutes prior, so she was alone. She blew some hair out of her bright green eyes and surveyed the area. Jenna and Anastasia were impeccably tidy, so in contrast to their neat room, Kabes was a disaster zone. She had clothes piled in places where clothes ought not to be, and it wasn't really the nicest place in terms of school work. Parchment and pieces of old quills were lying around on her nightstand and there were droplets of ink all over the bed. So many, in fact, that it looked a little like a Jackson Pollock painting. Plucking up some courage, Kabes released her legs and slipped out of bed. Her toes rested comfortably in her bunny slippers as she hobbled off to the bathroom down the hall, grabbing her toiletries pack along the way. She entered the deserted bathroom and began running the tap. As she continued her regular morning routine, she stared at herself in the mirror. It was the morning after the Mistletoe Ball, and she was feeling quite exhilarated. She had spent the night with Ivanov, leaving with him after a little confrontation with Matthew and found herself talking with him to the wee hours of the morning out in the courtyard. It was a more-or-less magical evening and she couldn't have expected a better turnout than all the girls who were there before. She had danced her socks off and floated off with her Prince Charming. She saw a soft pink glow on her pale cheeks and as she touched a slender finger to her skin, she felt it was hot to the touch. She wasn't ill or feverish, in fact she felt better than ever. As she glanced over at the clock in the bathroom, soapy toothpaste overflowing onto her lips, she noticed it was nearly two in the afternoon. She had slept quite a bit, come to think of it. No wonder Anastasia and Jenna had left when they did - catch the end of lunch! Smart move. She quickly spat out the remaining toothpaste and morning breath and splashed her face with water a few times. She wandered back to the dormitory and continued her preparation for the weekend's relaxing afternoon. Perhaps she'd have a picnic since the weather was just géniale. Kabriel slipped into some comfortable shoes and grabbed her floral satchel on the way out the door. Wandering down to the common room, she spotted her beloved across the room, engrossed with yet another book. She crept up on him and planted a kiss on his cheek before giggling with glee on her way out. She was so in love, it was hard not to control those romantic little urges. She left the common room floating on a hot pink cotton candy cloud of awesome. Each step she took brought her farther from him but still made her even more cheerful than she had been in weeks. She smiled at her friends and strangers, pausing a few times to chat with girls she knew from her classes or two joke around with some of her other friends before she finally made it down to the kitchens. It was a little humid down there, and she figured they were probably preparing a nice, hot stew for dinner. She poked her head through the doors and smiled at some familiar faces and some faces that weren't so familiar. Nonetheless, the house elves were a kind folk and they often enjoyed receiving visitors into their lair. They filled her satchel with goodies - three bottles of butterbeer, some baguette, some brie and camambert, and slipped in some chocolate frogs. Kabes blew them all a kiss and many thanks as she left. As she stepped out of the room, she felt immediately a little cooler and she sighed in relief as she made her way out of the dungeons. Once in the brightly lit entrance hall, the vast windows allowing for plenty of natural light to cascade over the carpets and the students, she made a beeline for the great front doors. Pushing one open, she found it to be a little chillier than expected, but still incredibly warm for the time. She looked around, a few fingers clutching the strap of her bag as she desperately searched for a suitable location for her picnic. She walked along through the grass and found herself a nice location in the courtyard. The benches were cool under her thighs as she sat down, but when she pulled her wand out from her bag, she gave it a quick wave and she heard her jacket and a warm blanket soar towards her and land neatly beside her on the stone bench. She quickly pulled her jacket over her shoulders and smiled serenely as warmth flowed over her slowly chilling skin. She stood up and draped the warm blanket all over the top of the bench and opened her satchel fully, bringing out the bread and the brie. She grabbed a bottle of butterbeer and twisted the top off. Taking a long gulp, she let out a burp at the end and grinned. It tasted so sweet, it was hard not to let the bubbles out! As she pulled out a little knife, she cut off a piece of brie and ripped off some of the still-warm baguette, spreading the cheese and taking a sweet bite. "Mmmmmm," she groaned as she chewed on the bread, stuffing her mouth full of the stuff. She heard someone's footsteps as they set foot on one of the stepping stones and turned to see a very familiar face, "Asahria!" she lept to her feet. After not seeing the girl in a while, she was extremely thrilled to encounter her once again. As she finished chewing, she ran towards her and threw her arms around Asa's shoulders. Kabes came up to about under the older girl's nose as she squeezed her tightly. "I haven't seen you in foreveerrr! How have you beeeen?"

YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE YOUR EYES if ten million fireflies lit upTHE WORLD AS I FELL ASLEEP Asahria shifted in her seat uncomfortably, looking hopefully towards the door. The sliver of light which was peeking through the small opening from the large mahogany doors onto the cold stone floor was the only sign of familiarity. Her absence hadn’t been long, but it had been long enough to isolate her. Looking around the classroom only brought her anxiety, biting her lower lip, Asahria was quick to realize that she didn’t recognize any of the faces in the room. Even the professor was not one that she’d had before. Knowing this made the class agonizingly slow. Her eyes kept trailing towards that sliver of light, her only comfort in the cold classroom. Her quill lay lifeless on her parchment, her fingers instead tugging uselessly at her cream sweater, trying to find some comfort in the unfamiliarity she found herself facing. She’d found no comfort in her return to Beauxbatons, everything she had come to know and love here seemed to have gone. It was as though she were a first year again, walking around a massive entrapment as though she were a ghost. She had certainly begun to feel like one.
Immediate relief washed through her when the professor finally announced their dismissal, though quickly subsided. She had taken little to no notes through the entirety of the class period. Looking regretfully at her parchment, Asahria began to pack up. This was legitimately a wasted class, she didn't even know who to look to for some form of review and everyone in here was a stranger. With a quiet sigh she addressed her failure before haphazardly shoving her belongings into her pack. Before anyone could notice she slipped through the mahogany doors and into the light which had served as her only comfort through the dismal hour.Outside the classroom she inhaled deeply, placing her back against the wall. Being back in these walls was extremely overwhelming, even though she had looked forward to returning for so long. It seemed as though so many things were missing. Rubbing slim fingers against her temples she slid to the floor until her knees were against her chest and her golden locks fell all around her.
She couldn’t be sure how long she sat there huddled in a ball, shielding herself from the world around her, but when she felt a hand at her shoulder Asahria knew it had been too long. While again the face was unfamiliar she knew she was making herself extremely vulnerable and vulnerable was not how she appeared, ever. Forcing a smile, she merely waved off the concerned male. "Really I’m fine." She spoke tentatively, while walking away at the same time, "Only a little light headed, nothing to worry over.” He didn’t seem as though he completely believed her, but allowed her to walk away, regardless what thoughts seemed to be churning in his head. His worry was nice enough, but she’s rather he not concern himself with her. After all, she had always been better off figuring things out on her own.
Drawing attention to herself like this was the last thing she wanted or needed for that matter. If anything she just wanted space to sort everything out. With the death of her mother and the long absence she wasn’t even really sure where to begin. She wasn’t sure how to approach people and not entirely sure she even wanted to, everyone that came into her life she lost. Even Charlton was gone and he was the one person she had come to truly trust. Carefully wiping a tear from her eye she took a deep breath, she really needed to sort herself out. Maybe the outdoors would give her the space she needed. At least here she wouldn’t be followed by wandering eyes. She knew people watched her, even though she didn’t recognize them all, she was sure they did her. Once Head Girl, she’d had a place here at the school. Asahria was sure that whispers followed her down the halls after being absent so long without so much as a word to anyone. Back then she had belonged here, but now she wasn’t so sure.
The echo of her boots was comforting against the cobblestone in the courtyard if only for the familiarity, she’d spent many long evenings here. Her reverie was broken when her name jolted through her barrier of thoughts. The suddenness confused her; she wasn’t entirely sure whom had even spoken. It had been the first person to recognize her in days and she couldn’t even directly place the voice, though it was one situated in familiarity." I haven't seen you inforeveerrr! How have you beeeen?" Asahria was barely able to react before the girl had draped herself around her shoulders. Even in her sorrow, Asahria couldn’t help but let a warm smile slip onto her features, surely warming the color on her cheeks. "Kabes!" she exclaimed, her voice higher than she might of expected. "Of everyone, you would be the first to find me." Laughing she returned the hug before pulling away.
Kabriel as Asahria remembered her, had been the most jovial and outgoing person she’d met. It looked as though the circumstances had not changed. "I’ve been.. " Pausing, Asahria chose not to tell Kabes about her mother. Honestly she’d rather avoid it if at all possible, "well… I’ve just been gone far too long. It’s like I’ve forgotten how to fit in here…. Or maybe everyone has just gone. I don’t know." At least she had been willing to give away some of what bothered her, if only a small portion of it. She knew Kabes would be the least likely to believe her feigned happiness, so she might as well be forthgiving. "What about you? How have you been?" Eyeing the picnic which lay before her Asahria suddenly felt famished. "Mind if I join you?”

[atrb=border, 0, true][atrb=style, line-height:80%;][atrb=style, width:350px; padding:10px; background:#ffffff;] SO JUST FORGET ABOUT THE WORLD, WE'RE YOUNG TONIGHT Kabriel beamed at the blonde Rouerie, happy to see her again. Of course, it had been ages and the two used to be close (but never quite as close as her and other girls of her year), but it was still exciting to see her once again. The smile on Kabes' lips was certainly contagious as Asahria beamed back at her. Kabes wrapped her arms around the girl and squeezed tightly, rocking back and forth with energy, "What can I say?" she giggled, "I'm good at finding people I want to see! I was just wondering about you the other day! When did you get in?" she asked the former head girl with giddiness written all over her face. As Kabes could remember, Asahria had been the head girl when she first arrived at the school, so she had always been a role model for Kabriel - nevermore when the two started talking more and spending time together, developing a strong friendship. Asa was like Kabes' older sister, and Kabes wanted to be almost just like Asa in terms of smarts, talent and sweetness. The girl was definitely someone Kabes looked up to, and now that she was back, she felt an overwhelming sense of relief, as though she hadn't really known how to be that girl until she got back. Asahria made chaos disappear in Kabes' world, which was a good thing since her mind often got tangled in many different webs that never led her back to her original path. Kind of a.... thought river, one might say.
After hearing Asahria's response to the simple query, Kabes tensed up a little, her shoulders becomming a little more rigid and her smile tightening at the edges for a few seconds before she relax again and nodded. It was as though Asa wasn't telling her something, maybe something bad that had happened during her absence? Other than the fact that her boyfriend wasn't around much anymore, it didn't help that anything else could have happened. Kabes cocked her head and nodded understandingly, "I think I know what you mean... when I left for a few terms, things just sort of got lost in my head when I got back. But don't worry!" Kabes added, perking up again as small patches of pink heat appeared, glowing upon her cheeks, "You'll soon get back into the groove of things." Kabriel nodded and then quickly scooted over for Asahria on the bench. At the invitation to join her, Kabes immediately piped up, "Yes! Of course! Look!" she rummaged through the picnic basket, "I have another butterbeer!" she quickly grabbed the bottle opener and opened the top for her, handing her the cool bottle.
As the girl enjoyed her butterbeer, Kabes herself took another swig to give herself time to think about how to respond to Asa's question. On the one hand, her life had been going swimmingly since she got back, and on the other things were getting to be a little more worrisome since she didn't want to make Asahria feel bad if her news was happy and triggered sad memories for her. She nibbled on her lower lip and shrugged, "Things are going alright. I can't imagine the term going any better... although, it's going to be over soon. Are you signed up for any classes?" she quickly asked Asahria, remembering that she had just signed up for two classes that very morning - Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures. She was ecstatic to have a CoMC professor like Prof. Llewellyn because she was close to her age. And although caring for magical creatures in general wasn't Kabes' dream job, taming dragons in Romania or in South America definitely was. She wanted to travel the world (preferably on dragon back) and perhaps adopt one of her own if she ever had enough money (or training) to do so. The girl had some odd dreams, she knew, but of course one had to dream of something to make your heart race! And it couldn't always be boys, too. Although speaking of boys, her and Ivanov were soon to celebrate their anniversary, and she was getting giddy at the thought of buying him a present even though she had no idea where to start. Something along the photography line, she figured, since he was never without that magical muggle contraption (that just blew Kabriel's mind - she had no idea how it worked)!
"You just barely missed the Mistletoe Ball. I helped plan it," she decalred proudly, pulling out the brie and baguette, slicing a piece of cheese and handing her a piece of bread. "Have some food! I've got tons. I was going to sit here and stare at people, but I'd rather talk with you. We have so much to talk about!" she squeed, taking a bite of the bread, still warm, and enjoying the crunchy taste of the crust. She quickly chewed and swallowed because she was trying to talk (did she ever quit?), "I was thinking of doing something fun soon! I hear so many people are returning for the new term that I want to do something awesome... like a trip down to the lake when it gets warmer! Would you come?" she asked Asa, puppy dog eyes at the ready.

YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE YOUR EYES if ten million fireflies lit upTHE WORLD AS I FELL ASLEEP In the few days that Asahria had been at Beauxbaton’s she’d run into no one that was a familiar, so it was strangely comforting to have come across Kabriel. For the first time since she had been back she felt as though she genuinely belonged here. Kabriel had a way of making you feel welcome, a personality like that would be the one to do it. Though Kabriel was younger than her, Asahria found herself envious of her optimistic attitude. She knew that Kabriel looked up to her, but it was for different reasons. Asahria had excelled here well enough and been kind and genuine to most, but she didn’t have the outgoing nature that Kabriel had. Sometimes she wished she could possess that type of bright optimism. She had a tendency of closing both herself and her emotions off from all of those around her, regardless of their importance to her. Just being wrapped up in Kabriel’s arms made her seem less at ease, for that she would always be envious. I’m glad you are. I feel like I haven’t seen anyone that I recognize since I’ve returned. I’m happy that you could be the first. She smiled pulling out of Kabriel’s arms, feeling as though some of the anxiousness she had been carrying the last few days had fallen from her shoulders. I only just returned this last weekend. I’ve only been back a few days. I hadn’t really had the chance to contact anyone and I’m not really sure who’s still here anymore. It feels as though I’ve been gone ages. I really missed this place. Her smile faltered a little. While she was more than happy to be back, there were still some things about this place that haunted her and even still made her feel empty.
Taking a place on the bench beside Kabriel, she smiled at the girl’s invitation. She certainly hoped that Kabes was right, though she was sure she too would get into the groove of things. As always she was likely overthinking things, it seemed to be one of the few negative aspects of her personality and it did her so much harm. Right now it was just hard to think that things would be easy again. She’d had everything before she’d left to return to her home in France. Though her mother and herself had never been close, it had not made losing her any easier. Along with her mother she’d lost her title as head girl, her boyfriend, among numerous other things she was sure. Kabes was right though, things would fall into place eventually. They had too. ”Yes! Of course! Look! I have another butterbeer!" Before she’d even had time to respond, Kabes had popped it open and handed the cool drink to Asahria. Oh my gosh, I could kiss you right now! Her response was immediate and she did kiss the girl, even if only on the cheek. You’ve no idea how long it’s been since I’ve had one of these. They don’t have them back in the world of muggles and nothing compares. Laughing she took a long swig of the drink savoring the flavor. There was really nothing that could compare. It tasted positively delicious.
I’m so glad to hear you’ve been doing well. I’m glad things here have been normal in my absence. It was really good to hear that things were working in a positive light for Kabriel. I’m actually working on signing up for classes now. There seems to be a bit of confusion in my scheduling, but it’s all in the process. She had been attending classes, but she’d yet to get everything all sorted. I tried out for a spot on the quidditch team though and I got spot as keeper. I’m really excited about that! I’ve missed quidditch. That was one thing that she was looking forward to above all else. It also gave her something to do in her free time and she needed something that kept her out of her room. Overthinking was going to be the death of her, quite literally. She had missed a good portion of the meals while she’d been back, just because she couldn’t seem to keep the pain off her mind. What about you? How are classes looking for you?
It was so relieving to have Kabriel sitting here talking as though nothing had changed. At least she could count on the girl for that. Asahria smiled briefly at Kabriel’s mention of the Mistletoe ball. That’s really awesome that you helped with it. I’m so proud, you are doing so much. She really was, reminded Asahria a bit of herself when she had been so involved here at Beauxbatons. Though maybe it’s better I missed it. I wouldn’t have had a date. Her words were shy, but there was hurt behind them. The last dance she had attended here had been a rollercoaster of emotion. It had been the first time she’d seen since his return. Back when he had returned as Raffi and hadn’t even been sure of who she’d been. It really was better that she had missed that, she didn’t want t relieve that kind of pain. It would have likely haunted her all night. She missed him so much. Tell me though, who was your date? She smiled nudging the girl as she took a slice of the baguette. It was still warm and it tasted just as brilliant as the butterbeer.
Waiting for the response, Asahria took the time to indulge in the delights before her. She couldn’t have run into Kabriel at a better time, she had needed the food. "I was thinking of doing something fun soon! I hear so many people are returning for the new term that I want to do something awesome... like a trip down to the lake when it gets warmer! Would you come?" Leave it to Kabriel to make big plans, it seemed to be part of her nature. How could I possibly say no, especially with you giving me that look. Besides it would be good for me to get out. Maybe you could introduce me to some of your new friends.

[atrb=border, 0, true][atrb=style, line-height:80%;][atrb=style, width:350px; padding:10px; background:#ffffff;] SO JUST FORGET ABOUT THE WORLD, WE'RE YOUNG TONIGHT Kabriel missed Asahria dearly. She actually missed many of her old friends who had disappeared from the school one morning, leaving Kabes wondering where everyone could have gone. The girl may have many friends, but she always had a few people who she noticed every day and loved to pieces. Asa was definitely one of those people. She was so warm and cheerful, it was hard not to adore her. Kabes felt safer around her, too, since Ria was older and more experienced in everything from magic to boys, so she was always someone who Kabes could talk to and trust with her secrets. Somehow, having her back made Kabes feel a little more at ease with the rest of her life - as though her situation was improving and people were going to return, brightening her life again. The two blondes seemed to be comfortable on the bench, and it was as though she had never left Beauxbatons which was exactly the way Kabes wanted it to be. Their relationship would pick up right from where it left off. That begged the question though... what about Asa and Charlton? Although Kabes and Charlton had never hung out too much, she knew how adorable they were together and they were the couple that everyone would model themselves around as silly as it was. When Kabes was with Topher for those many lovely months, she wondered half the time if she was nearly as happy as Asa and Charlton were when they were together. But she needn't think about it anymore, since her and Ivanov were just so different it made for interesting evenings and afternoon strolls. There was always something so different keeping them together and apart at the same time. But they were close, there was no denying that (as much as some would like to).
"I'm glad I could be the first! You got back so recently!" Kabes gasped and shook her head, "It's just so strange. You've been gone for so long and now you're back... weird... but like, the good kind of weird that gives me tingles. Does that make sense? I think it does..." the young Cossu trailed off, taking a sip of her butterbeer as her brows furrowed above her emerald eyes. She sometimes thought about things a little too hard - that hadn't changed since her very first day at Beauxbatons - filled with curiosity, questions and eerie excitement for everything that was to come. "Beauxbatons does that, doesn't it? I miss it every day I'm not here! I hope I never have to leave!" she joked, smiling brightly at Asahria, feeling more and more at ease if that were possible. Kabes remembered times when she would sit around the library or the great hall and find herself surrounded by her friends within a few minutes - everyone seemed to be able to find one another at Beauxbatons and being separated from people... well, that was something Kabes was willing to face, but with a broken heart. She loved her brothers, but every time one of them left she found it harder and harder to see them go. She supposed it was like that for everyone, but she definitely hoped Ria would stay. If she left, Kabes wouldn't want to have to deal with that parting feeling of someone who she considered a role model, a hero even. Asa was just so strong and bright and wonderful - all the things Kabes aspired to be. She was like an older sister to her, someone who had taken her under her wing to guard and teach. And Kabes definitely loved that.
Kabes beamed as the place where Asa had lightly brushed her cheek got a little pink. She shrugged her shoulders sheepishly, "I'm always prepared!" she giggled before making a scrunched up face, "Muggles sound boring. I mean, I know a little about muggles, but we sort of lived by ourselves. Where were you when you were gone? London? Kenya? Iceland? GREENLAND? Oh darn... I can never remember which one's the actual green one. I want to say it's Iceland, but then I always get confused by the names and by which is which and..." Kabes shook her head, "No matter. Do muggles really use little machines that can tell them anything? Everything in the world on something thiiiiiis small?" Kabes asked in awe, holding her hands at about the size of a book. She was referring to laptops, something which confused her. Why use some kind of contraption, which was ingenious she supposed, when there was nothing really as satisfying as sifting through books? Was there anything more satisfying than finding that page and that note that you've been looking for? Call her old fashioned (and magical) but she found that a little more comforting than clicking buttons. But then again, what did she know about the muggle world? They didn't have magic, and that in itself was a travesty.
At the mention of Quidditch, Kabes shot her a knowing glance. It was her brother, Alex, running the Quidditch team this year. She was as excited as Asahria (well, maybe not as much) to be the commentator alongside Hyo. Things were looking to be a good season if only more people tried out. "I'm so glad! I get to cheer you on and everything. I hope you stop every Quaffle!" And she really meant that, regardless of Asa being in another house. Kabes didn't care too much about the scoring system, she just loved being able to see her friends doing something awesome. Like flying. On broomsticks. Magic! Her and Hyo Joon were certainly going to get off topic during the match. The topics of events and fun things coming to Beauxbatons were just too much of a temptation to avoid! Kabes nodded to Asa's query, "Classes are okay. My most favourite class of all is Professor Llewellyn's! She's so pretty... she's like... the prettiest. Ever. She isn't even Veela! She's just naturally brilliantly gorgeous!" Kabes blurted out, her cheeks turning bright pink at the enthusiasm in her voice. And it was true, Kabes thought Astrid was gorgeous. And smart. And loved animals. Kabes currently wanted to be just like her when she grew up just because she had the best job in the world - at Beauxbatons teaching students about ANIMALS! And Kabes adored animals. They were just so cute... and fluffy... well, some of them. She also loved sharks, oddly enough. Not that she'd go swimming with them, but they were extremely fascinating to her.
Kabes took another sip of her butterbeer and cut off some cheese for her and Asa. She glanced over at the girl with a pair of sad eyes and kind of wished she hadn't brought it up. "I know tons of guys who would have wanted to take you to the ball," she said encouragingly, deciding against asking about Charlton. He was back too, wasn't he? She dared not ask since she didn't want Asa to be in a sad mood with her. She was hoping Asa would remain as happy and chipper as she appeared to be moments ago. Kabes figured there were other reasons to her sudden change of tone, but she didn't want to pry into a life that didn't really involve her. At the mention of a date for Kabes, she blushed slightly and cleared her throat, mumbling, "Ivanov Trovsky." She technically didn't have a date, but Ivanov had surprised her. He wasn't into social gatherings like the Mistletoe Ball, but he had showed up regardless... leading to a little bit of a confrontation between him and her cousin Mathew... but things were more or less sorted now. So she figured, at least. "Maybe you'll meet him sometime! He's away right now visiting family, but he'll be back for the summer term, I think!" she said happily, offering Ria some bread. "We can go swimming... and we can play games on the beach and build sandcastles!" she quickly said happily, beaming brightly at the girl.

YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE YOUR EYES if ten million fireflies lit upTHE WORLD AS I FELL ASLEEP Sitting here in Kabriel’s presence, Asahria couldn’t help to be happy. She had certainly missed the girls presence – more so than she would have ever recognized from the confines of her city home. Asahria hadn’t recognized just how much she’d been alone in all those months she’d say home, passing her mother’s sickness. Her only company had been her father and the constant flow of her mother’s attendants. Asahria had barely seen her mother in the months before her passing and her brother had been home very sparsely. It seemed funny that he had not been in her place, her had always been the favored of children as it were. Yet in her last month’s Asahria had been the one there waiting, hoping that she could find some way to help. Perhaps, find some way to finally gain her mother’s acceptance before she’d passed. If there was one thing she’d wanted above all others was that and still she didn’t have it. Now though it was lost, it was something she could never gain or even have the opportunity to strive for. She’d let that factor bring her down for months. Asahria supposed it was what had kept her from writing everyone. She felt inadequate. She always had. She couldn’t gain her mother’s acceptance. If she couldn’t have that how could anyone except her. Her friends. Her boyfriend. They couldn’t, at least that’s what she’d come to believe. It was her own fault she’d lost everything.
Inadequate was the last thing she felt though, being here in Kabriel’s company. For the first time since her return, Asahria felt as though she were right where she belonged. Kabriel was like the adoring little sister she’d never had. Her brother barely even gave due to the fact that she existed so having that in Kabriel was the one thing that made her feel like she had to strive for something better. Asahria had been told by one or two that Kabriel looked up to her as a model. She wished she could see herself as the young girl beside her did, but lately it had been hard. Around her it was hard to feel as if she wasn’t something magnificent. It felt good to know that someone, if not her family, idolized her in some form. If anything Asahria wanted to succeed so she could be that model for Kabriel. The girl was younger, but she was so very bright. Seeing her and hearing her speak made Asahria wish that she had been better in keeping company over her absence. It made her wonder how much her absence had affected anyone else. Before now she hadn’t given that much thought. Her only thoughts had been that maybe they were better off without her, but maybe she had been mistaken. Kabriel’s bright optimism made her wonder if she had been wrong all along. Shaking her head, she pushed her blonde locks back behind her shoulders, all she could do was try to move forward.
Yeah I’ve only been back a few days. I’ve barely had time to unpack and everything. It’s crazy how quickly things started up again. She smiled at her fellow blondes reaction as she gasped slightly, upon she was realizing the first. It was so like her to go off on tangents every time she spoke, but Asahria liked it. It wasn’t the serious conversation she had been expecting and she was finding she was rather enjoying it. Asahria wasn’t sure if she was ready to talk about everything yet, but that wasn’t unlike her – to keep her emotions back behind some veil. It has been far too long. I get it. I mean, I’ve been feeling it since I got her. Almost like it doesn’t feel real, it’s fairy tale like… She laughed, running her slim fingers through her hair as she nibbled at a piece of bread. Well I hope you don’t either. It’s honestly harder than you would ever imagine it to be. That statement in its entirety was true. She hoped that Kabriel would never experience a leave like her own. Based on Kabriel’s personality Asahria didn’t think she would ever have as a hard a time as she had. Kabriel was more likely to keep in touch than Asahria had been. She hated to think of the girl facing such a harsh reality, especially when things seemed to be going so very well for her. Asahria wouldn’t be surprised if the girl followed in her own footsteps, she surely had the ability.
[/color] Asahria let out a laugh as Kabriel conti nued, her cheeks pink with color. Do you really think I’m that boring? she teased. Asahria had after all grown up in the muggle world. Everything that was part of her life now had once been a fairy tale. Perhaps that was why her mother had so strongly detested her. Swallowing she brushed the thought away, she was going to enjoy this little ray of sunshine she had happened upon. She needed some brightness in her life. For starters Iceland is the green one. Which honestly is very confusing. They ought to change that. As far as where I was, I was back in Versailles with my family. Asahira left the statement at that, not wanting to push the details. She dind’t really want to have Kabriel’s pity, she was rather enjoying her exuberant questioning. Though I’ve been to a few of those places. She winked, it was one of the few perks of having her parents. They had traveled often in her younger years. While she’d seen very little of them she’d seen a lot of everywhere else. Do you mean a laptop? She asked quizzically, she doubted Kabes actually knew the answer since she was the one asking, but Asahira could never be sure. I wouldn’t say it tells us everything, but it’s a great resource. A bit like magic… only it’s technology. Considering I’m not smart enough to understand it, I’d rather categorize it as magic. She laughed, knowing the statement to be true. Though she wasn’t sure Kabriel would understand the logic in it. It pretty much can tell us anything we ask. We even shop using it.[/size] Sipping from her butterbeer she laughed and nodded as Kabriel continued. First about quidditch, in which she seemed to have gained a position as commentator. It was a good thing Asahira often couldn’t hear them or she knew she’d be distracted by Kabriel’s bubbly nature. She was sure that the girl would be a crowd favorite. She had to laugh when she said she wanted her to catch every quaffle. We’ll see if you’re still saying that when season starts up. smiling she continually nodded as Kabriel went into detail on her classes. She didn’t recognize Professor Llewellyn, but she was sure she was just as fabulous as Kabriel believed her to be. Even though it seemed she was able to find the best in everyone, that was a positive aspect. It was one the two girls shared. Asahria grew slightly quiet as Kabriel turned back to the dance, mentioning there were tons of guys that would have taken her to the ball. While Asahria wasn;t entirely sure that was true, that wasn’t what really mattered. What mattered was the one she’d wanted was gone. Asahria was glad when Kabriel skipped over Charlton as a topic of conversation. She’d been sure it was coming and found herself utterly relieved when his name was lost somewhere in the back of their minds. I’d really love to meet this handsome fellow. Give him my stamp of approval, she winked. Though I’m sure your choice is as good as any. And all of those sound lovely. I’m a master at building sandcastles
