Name: Kabriel Lilly Age: 15 House: Cossu Desired Position: Female Commentator
What's your Quidditch Background?
"I've never been a huge Quidditch player, but I always loved hearing about Quidditch games through my brothers and their friends. Of course, I would love to be apart of Quidditch here at Beauxbatons! Before the position of the QM was available, I was the commentator back then... although, I was only a second year. I think I can reprise the role of being a commentator because I'm always watching Quidditch games with my friends and family and I know a lot about it. I've read the rulebook, and I think I'm charismatic enough to fill a stadium with happiness and joy! Ahahahaha, well, I think I'd suit the role mostly because I love to talk, and talking is awesome, and talking about Quidditch while a game is happening is even MORE awesome, wouldn't you say so?"
RP Sample:
"And there goes Bell, with the quaffle!" Kabes roared into the microphone, watching the blonde Gryffindor zoom past on her broomstick. Kabes sat on the edge of her wooden seat up in the stands with the staff. She sat beside her co-host, Lee Jordan, and the two of them were having the time of their lives, chatting and watching the game. She took a handful of popcorn in her hands and stuffed it in her mouth, watching the flying dots (or rather, players) flit from one end of the pitch to the other. She grinned as she watched Katie pass to her left. "Bell to Johnson!" she said into the microphone, her voice a little muffled from the popcorn in her mouth. Lee took over the microphone for a while as Kabes finished up the kernels in her mouth and swallowing a few gulps of water to wash it all down. "God, I love Quidditch games. Don't you just love the atmosphere, Lee?" she asked, into the microphone. Lee responded with something equally energetic and Kabriel smiled. She glanced down at the score and saw that Gryffindor was falling behind to Hufflepuff at a few points. Kabes was hoping Hufflepuff would win, but she definitely didn't say it - especially in front of an upper year like Lee, who was a die-hard Gryffindor supporter (didn't help that he was also in Gryffindor house, did it?).
Kabriel watched the people down in the stands for a few moments and enjoyed watching their cheers, their flags and hearing the chants everyone came up with. 'Go, go Gryffindor!' was constantly heard in the background, always the loudest of the bunch. Kabes watched as Angelina wound up for the shot and quickly said, "And there goes Johnson for the shot -" she paused, waiting with baited breath as she saw the red quaffle fly out from between her fingers. Anxious to see the outcome, she glanced over at Lee who was pink in the face from holding his breath in anticipation, "- and she scores!" Kabriel finished. Lee said a few great things into the microphone and then she turned to him, off mic, "D'you think you guys'll manage to come up from a 50-70 score?" she asked him dubiously, arching her brows as she teased one of her close friends, "I mean, give us a chance! Hufflepuff's need something awesome, too," she laughed.
A few minutes later, she heard a giant gasp and her eyes went zooming around the pitch. It didn't take her (too) long to notice two players - one yellow, one red - zooming in the same direction, all over the pitch. Some of the players took a second to sneak a peek at their small, speedy players zooming around the field, chasing what must be a little golden ball. "And it looks like Potter's almost got it!" Kabriel said into the microphone, until the pair zoomed past her and Lee in the stands. "No! Diggory might be ahead!" she said, Lee glanced at her, somewhat irritated that she was talking so much. She looked at him sheepishly and allowed him to continue. Just as he was about to open his lips, she mirrored him but much more enthusiastically, "Diggory caught the snitch! Hufflepuff wins! Wooo!" she leapt to her feet and donned her yellow and black jumper, shaking her hips happily. "Congratulations to Hufflepuff, winning with a score of 50-220! And best of luck to Gryffindor, who'll be facing Slytherin in two weeks time! Great job everyone!"

What's your Quidditch Background?
"I supposed I began a little later than most do - around the age of 13 I would say. I was never into much but as the years went by I learned to love it. Friends taught me the basics and the rest I just had to figure out for myself mostly because I just did not get anything they said to me. I enjoy playing seeker the most due to me just being better at using my eyes and my mind when I'm in any type of zone. I have no muscle and I would probably cause myself (or others) bodily harm when attempting to use any blunt instrument."
RP Sample:
This was it. The season of Quidditch was among them and Tinley was rearing. Her hair crackled as loud as its color and she could feel the excitement build. It could be that it was just nerves being repressed but that didn't matter. The team gathered around; shoulder to shoulder. Deep breaths were taken and in a flurry of movements they were off soaring into the clear blue sky. Her hands gripped the broom handle tightly and she shivered madly in the cold wind. Ok, so she should have listened and dressed warmer underneath. Oh well, mistakes happened. There wasn't much wind so she listened intently to the Quidditch master, scanning the faces of her teammates and their opponents.
As soon as he tossed the Quaffle high in the air the game was underway. Tinley circled around the pitch, her eyes trained on every small movement she could see. Her and the other seeker, a fourth year from Sournois, were like sharks waiting to attack their mark. Cheers erupted from the crowds as both teams scored while boos rang out when they didn't. Chants were soon added but Tinley pushed all sound away from her ears as she spotted her prey: a small, glinting and gold snitch. She dived, he dived. She swerved, he swerved. She dodged one bludger but wasn't quick enough as it smashed into her broom handle. She pulled her hands away just in time as a chunk of it flew to the ground. Grunting she gritted her teeth and pushed on, regaining her focus in order to find the snitch again.
The game was close to and end, she could feel it. Though only about an hour had passed she was frustrated. On the verge of giving up something caught her eye. It was buzzing next to one of the large posts, mocking her. Her eyes were glued to it as she charged towards it, ignoring the splinter that were sinking into her fingers and palms. Just as she reached out to grab it another hand appeared and it was stretched out to its very limit. With a bump she pushed him away but a counter came quickly. Never did she once move her head for fear of losing sight of it. They split directions before they would crash into the post and with luck on her side she went in the direction of the snitch. Both zigged and zagged around the field before skyrocketing into the sky. Higher and higher they climbed and her hand closed around it just as the other Sournois caught up to her. She grabbed it from the sky and held her fist to her chest.
Floating back to the ground as the whistle blew, she grinned with triumph written on her face. "Rouerie Wins!" Her bones were weary and her hands stung but she held her arm up high, a smile on her face. Looking at the score board floating in the sky she noted how close they'd come to losing: 50-65. Wiping the sweat from her forehead, Tinley placed her arms of the shoulder of her teammates as they headed back in. "Goodness that was intense, and it was only the first game." she smirked, "I can't wait for the next match. Who're we playing?"

Age: 17

Desired Position: Keeper
What's your Quidditch Background?
I was later to start than most here at Beauxbaton's but that's only because I came from a muggle family and we never knew what quidditch was. I fell in love with the sport immediately though. Back before I knew about quidditch I played a lot of sports so I'm fair on agility. I learned to play here at school with a group of friends who taught me the bare necessities, but I've gotten really good on a broom. I've been practicing for these try-outs for ages now. Seriously though, it's a bit of a release for me.
RP Sample:
Asahria could feel the wind biting at her nose, as a small flurry of snowflakes fell from the sky above them. It was a cold day for quidditch. She was cold now, even though she was huddled close among her teammates, but she knew that as soon as she was up in the air and her adrenaline was really going that the warmth would return to her. There was a flurry of conversation between the teammates, everyone was filled with electric energy, but who could blame them this was the first game of the season. This game would be the one to beat, everyone was always intimidated by the first match and it would set the standard for the rest of the season. All of the long practices had led them to this point. It was nerve wrecking and exciting at the same time. This was the moment, a hush settled over the team as a few last works were spoken, followed by a spell of quick movements as everyone took flight.
Everything from here on out was competition. Asahria’s deep blue eyes watched all movement as she took her place by the goals, three hoops approximately 50 feet from the ground. She bared herself against the cold, eyes keen on the quidditch master as she waited for the quaffle to be thrown and for the game to begin. There it was, the quaffle was in the air and in quick tow of a rouerie. Things were quick from here, as the quaffle was passed from player to player. Was that a reverse pass? The words barely met her ears above the sounds of massing students. Already the chanting had begun, but it felt as though it were miles away. Her eyes were trained on the ball, each succinct pass, lest there be a slip. She always needed to be ready.
There it was, a bludger slammed directly into the forerunner, knocking her balance and breaking the quaffle from her arms. Drifting higher above the goals to gain sight she noticed that the quaffle had been picked up by another rouerie, good offense. Then there was an opening, though it was risky. The chaser lobbed the quaffle with considerable strength straight through the left goal. Long goal! Asahria yelled, giving herself only a moment for this small victory as Sournois took the ball in tow.Her movements mirrored those of the quaffle. Sweep right. Pass. Falter left. Pass. Dive low.
Sudden collision met her as a bludger impacted hard against her right shoulder. With all her attention trained on the quaffle she hadn’t seen the beater, it was almost as though he’s appeared from now. The sting was strong, but she couldn’t let it distract her she’s already missed precious moments, that was if she wasn’t already to late. Her eyes were frantic in gaining back the quaffle, to find it close and coming fast. Close against her broom she swept up high, allowing herself to directly interfere the throw, catching it close against her stomach. Save and then with a single yet direct toss the quaffle was back in the arms of a speeding rouerie.
The back and forth was instantaneous. The ball back in the hands of the rouerie and yet another goal was scored. This time Sournois proved lucky, as the chaser faking to the right the very last instant, just barely letting the ball slip through her fingers. The game was growing lengthy, Rouerie 40, Sournois 30. There was no end though, not until the snitch was in the hands of a seeker. The snow was falling with gathering strength, she hoped this ended soon as it was likely to growing more difficult for the seekers. A flurry of movement ahead of her let her know the quaffle was coming in close, again mirroring the actions of the quaffle. Suddenly the ball was hurdling for the top goal, with a quick turn of her broom she was able to send it zooming back into the pitch right as the crowd began to roar and the snitch has been caught by Rouerie! That was it, the game was over. In a sudden rush the team was upon each other, yelling in delight before they’d even touched ground. What a way to start the season!

What's your Quidditch Background? “ To be perfectly honest I learned about Quidditch when I first came to Beauxbatons. Before that I didn’t know you could even fly with a broom. I’m still not very good at flying a broom myself, but I’ve been to quite a few Quidditch matches now, because I find it extremely entertaining. I love it! I’m big fan of muggle sport called soccer, so I’m not new to sports. Just new to Quidditch. After finding out such a sport exists I right away went to the library and studied quite a few books about it, so I know a lot now, although I’m not capable of playing it myself. Yet. One day I will surely learn it properly though! And maybe one day be able to join the team as well. But for now it will be all just talk (and boy am I good at that!). I’ll make sure there will be zero quiet moments during a game if I get the position and for sure will keep everyone entertained. ”
RP Sample: The last game of the season; Cossu vs Sournois. Which one would take the first place? During any games that Cossu played Hyo Joon felt quite anxious and was quite sure it would have been better if he would have been just one of the fans and not sitting there infront of the microphone; it was hard to not to cheer your own team after all. The game wasn’t going too good anyway for Cossu which did make him little less cheerful although he tried his best not to be too dull with his comments during the game. Oh man. He had so much wished Cossu could win this year. They would definitely deserve it! “And there goes Sournois chaser Laroux with the quaffle and he’s on his way towards the Cossu’s goal, but will he make it? Cossu’s pretty much greatest player, keeper Ballou is against him, but sadly mister Ballou hasn’t shown his greatness today yet at all, so-“ His speech gets cut accidentally as he concentrates too much in the game, eyes wide open as plates and his back as straight as an ironing board and then he watches Sournois to make yet another goal, the fans of the very same house screaming like wild animals and jumping up and down on their benches. “And indeed Laroux strikes again! 90-20 to Sournois!” His lips curled downwards so much it hurt, because he felt such disappointment at the moment and it was really hard to resist not to yell at his own house team. And eventually he couldn’t.
“COME ON COSSU! CONCENTRATE ON THE QUAFFLE AND THE SNITCH! MAKE A GOAL! WON’T DO ANY GOOD TO JUST STAND NEXT TO THE KEEPER!” He shook his head and bit his lower lip slightly, not really caring that his commentator partner took the microphone away from him for awhile. “This is so ridiculous.” He muttered to himself as he watched the Cossu quidditch team give him annoyed glances which did make him feel a bit guilty, but he wouldn’t show it. Insulting them wouldn’t get them to win, that was for sure. For a moment he let his partner to take care of the speaking in order to calm down himself. He could hear his friends tell him “it’s just a game” or “next year Cossu will fight harder”, but no way would he listen to them! It wasn’t just a game! It was Q-U-I-D-D-I-T-C-H-!
Therefore he took a gulp of the butterbeer bottle next to him, so that his throat wouldn’t be so dry before stealing his microphone back and smiling widely as he spoke, "Snitch hasn't been seen by either of the seekers yet, so Cossu still does stand a chance." This hopefully would give the Cossu players some faith in their game and at the same time make the Sournois team realize that they still need to do a lot better in case they don't catch the golden snitch first. Oops, he wasn’t allowed to be so biased, but he knew for certain that other commentors had done so in the past too.
After a moment Sournois made another goal and some students were singing about Cossu loosing the game for sure and whatnot though he wouldn't let that bother him and hopefully neither would the Cossu team. "Oh it seems that the bludger is going to hit the Sournois keeper Girard! But wait... no their beater Martin takes care of it and nicely swings it towards Cossu’s seeker mister Chevalier who... yes, he managed to avoid the hit, well done!" He stopped for a second before he gasped loudly, "Oh no! Ouch, that must have hurt! Sournois's other beater Fournier just got hit by the bludger! He fell down from his broom and the medics are there now." He watched medics look after the fallen player before taking her away from the pitch while Hyo's commentator partner explained the whole situation and he heard her add that another player would join the game and take the position as a new beater for Sournois. It seemed that the fallen player had now a couple broken ribs, but luckily those could be easily taken care of in the magical world. If this was a muggle game or if magic wasn't allowed to be used then that beater would be bedridden for quite awhile.
That's when he saw it. Something small and golden gleamed past him, and if he would have had a broom now he was sure he would have been able to catch it. Unfortunately that wasn't his job, but he did love being a commentator as well. He wasn't the only one who had noticed it though; the Sournois seeker dived down after the snitch, but so did the Cossu seeker. "The snitch has been seen! About time! Both seekers are after it, flying side by side, both looking extremely anxious! Who's going to catch it? Will the champions be the Sournois house or the Cossu house? Who will be the ones partying all night?"
People were extremely loud and Hyo Joon was barely able to even hear his own thoughts. "Is that the loudest you can get? Really? Come on people! Cheer your house to win! Go Cossu!" He screamed, obviously excited before quickly adding, "Go Sournois!" and smirked widely while closely looking every move the seekers made. Everyone were screaming the loudest they could, obviously supporting their own favorites, and you could just feel the electrifying tension in the air. Suddenly though both players had reached for the snitch, causing everyone to fall silent and even Hyo Joon stood up from his seat and stared at the two players. No one really saw what happened in the next 5 seconds exactly. Next thing you knew was the Cossu seeker falling off from his broom and down towards the grounds. Luckily the medics had been awake and not too concentrated at who caught the snitch, so with a simple spell they were able to help him down safely. "It seems that the Sournois player pushed the Cossu player, tsch tsch." He spoke in the microphone, then realizing that everyone were concentrated on the fallen Cossu rather than the Sournois seeker who was still up in the air. "That must have hurt! I bet even Voldemort would have winced at-" People stared at him for a moment for saying that name out loud which why he just quickly cleared his throat, apologized and then continued, "But who caught the snitch or did it get away?" After saying this, the Sournois player flew down on the ground while looking very upset and he simple walked away to the dressing room without a single word. "It seems mister Neville is having a bad day." He spoke to the mic as he blinked and then turned to look down at the Cossu seeker again, just in time; he was lying down, but raised his right hand high before opening his fist and showing off the small golden ball with silver wings which caused quite the ruckus among the students. "OH YEAH BABY!!! IT'S COSSU'S TIME TO PARTY! COSSU'S SEEKER CHEVALIER HAS CAUGHT THE SNITCH! THE GAME ENDS WITH 170-90 FOR COSSU!" Hyo Joon jumped from excitement and did a short ridiculous looking dance. And he couldn’t have been happier. "Thank you Cossu players, thank you Sournois players, thank you everyone who came to watch the very exciting game. Please be careful when exiting the pitch and remember to go enjoy tonight's feast and celebrate Cossu’s win!" He smirked widely and probably sounded way too happy as he talked, but he didn’t care. Cossu had won and for certain he would celebrate this win with the others until the morning.

"To be honest, I didn't learn about Quidditch until this past summer when I first learned I was a witch and would be coming to Beauxbatons. However, I found riding a broom exhilarating, and I was fairly good at playing beater despite the fact that I'm Female, and many think that a beater is a male position, which I have to argue with. I am stronger than I look, and I have experience playing Muggle baseball, which also involves hitting a ball with a bat. I have good hand eye coordination, and I can hit a ball from many different angles." RP Sample: Kacey looked around at all the students and fans that had come to support their own house as they cheered loudly. Her heart pounded with excitement and nervousness as she waited perched on her broom for the blow of the whistle that would start the game. The soft drops of rain fell on her shoulders as she looked down at the players below her. She watched as the Bludgers were released and they soared passed her with such force the air around her shook, and caused her to wobble slightly on her broom. A grin spread across her face as she heard the piercing whistle, and she was allowed to fly and get a better view of the game, and keep a look out for the other beaters on Sournois, along with the Bludgers. The rain was coming down heavily now, making it difficult to see. Kacey wiped the water off her face with her wet sleeve as she gripped her bat tightly and watched the other players. She knew the weather would make the game that much harder, but also much more exciting. Suddenly she caught sight of a barreling Bludger heading quickly behind one of her fellow chasers. She rocketed toward the Bludger to intercept it before it crashed into her teammate, and caused them to get knocked off their broom and possibly injured. Faster, Faster! If she didn't move quicker it would hit them! What seemed like an eternity to Kasey but in reality only took a couple seconds she made it in front of the Bludger. Everything seemed to go into slow motion as she focused on the angle it was heading towards her. She raised her bat behind her, and searched for a direction to hit it in that would be beneficial to her team. She spotted the Sournois chaser that currently had the Quaffle, and hit the Bludger so hard in that direction that her arm her for a moment. She watched for a moment as the Bludger hit the chaser in the back of the broom, causing them to spin out, and one of the Rouerie chasers to gain possession and gave them opportunity to score. 10 points to Rouerie! Kacey couldn't stop smiling the entire game. The rain didn't let up, and the crash of thunder just added to the excitement. The die hard fans in the stands didn't dare go inside to the warmth for fear of missing something exciting, and cheering on their team. The game was tied 75-75 and everyone new that the catch of the Snitch would be important soon. Kacey was just aiming for another Sournios chaser when the other Bludger hit her arm that held the bat with such force she almost fell off her broom. Her arm hurt so bad she had barely anytime to realize to get out of the way from the Bludger she was planning to hit. She dove quickly to avoid another rough blow and held her arm. It didn't feel broken, and if it was it wasn't a bad break. It seemed to be just badly sprained and bruised. She switched the bat into her left hand and hoped she would be able to hit Bludgers just as well as if she was still holding it in her right hand. The game continued, and Kacey did her best to keep Bludgers away from her team. Sournois was winning by just a couple points, but if Rouerie could just catch the snitch they could still win! And the seekers had seen it! They raced side by side, swerving out of the way of other players, chasing the snitch, ramming into each other trying to get a lead to catch it before the other. Kacey tried to follow behind as close as she could, to keep any Bludgers away from their seeker. The fans cheered loudly still as they sensed the anticipation to see who would catch the snitch first, and the players seemed to step up their game as their adrenaline grew, trying to score as many more points as they could before the snitch was caught. The seekers flew faster and faster, arms outstretched in hope of catching it. Out of the corner of her eye, Kacey noticed a Bludger shooting towards them with great speed, and she quickly flew towards it, trying to stop it before it hit their seeker. Just a little closer... Kacey turned quickly and aimed with her not so great left hand, and wham! She hit it hard at the Sournois seeker, and it hit them with a thud, causing them to get knocked off their broom, giving the Rouerie seeker an opportunity to grab the Snitch! Closer... Closer... They caught it! Rouerie had won! They won the game! Kacey cheered along with the crowed as they cheered for her team, and already couldn't wait for the next match.

Name: Marlena Jacoby Age: 16 House: Cossu Desired Position: Seeker
What's your Quidditch Background? I grew up with brothers that played all sorts of sports. Growing up as a Muggle, I've been exposed to all sorts of aggressive and competitive sports. Quidditch didn't seem that different. Sure there's different rules and playing materials, but I instantly was drawn towards it. It probably clicked with me because it's essentially a sport. I got a few people to show me how it works and then just kind of taught myself to fly. With me not being as tall as everybody else, Seeking is perfect! Plus I like to take pride in how observant I am.
RP Sample: It was yet another intense, yet exciting game of Quidditch. Marley was way up above everybody else as she was on lookout duty for the golden snitch. It usually worked this way. Cossus weren't exactly the most offensive when it came to Quidditch, but they sure had a smashing defense. As much as Marley wanted to get in the jumble of players and knock a few teeth out, the Cossu captain wasn't about to risk their almighty Seeker. Marley knew she wasn't the greatest, but she had eyes of a hawk and was known for spotting the snitch early on. Her speed needed improving and often lost out on a win because the other Seeker was faster or something stupid.
Marley was always bitter about a loss and knew she was a sore loser. Marley sighed and began to hum a tune she had stuck in her head all day. She only knew a few lines, but the rest she didn't know and could only hum the rest. As her mind began to slowly drift off into other thoughts other than Quidditch, Marley was growing more bored with every passing minute. Being a Seeker could be tedious stuff and knew she should have tried out for the Beater position. If she had, she wouldn't be on the team. Marley had hardly any upper body strength. It was terribly pathetic since she considered herself athletic. Hadn't spending all that time with her brothers and their friends toughed her up. Marley lifted one arm from the broom and flexed her arm to see if she could feel any muscle.
Just as she did, Marley saw a flash of gold and suddenly snapped to attention like a dog spotting a squirrel. Both hands gripped the broom and soon kicked her broom into action. As she sped towards it, she felt like she was on a roller coaster the way she was weaving out of people's way and diving suddenly towards the ground. Was this snitch trying to kill her?! Marley thought as the ground grew closer and closer. Soon she had to level her broom and lost sight of the snitch for a minute or two. It wasn't long before she found it again and quickly ducked a bludger before zooming after her target again. Closer and closer she got and Marley reached her arm out to try to catch it. She was still too far away and she grimaced. Marley didn't care where the other Seeker was. All of her energy was spent on urging her old broom to go faster so she could wrap her thin fingers around the golden snitch. Almost there...almost...there.

Name: Aurelie VillonAge: Seventeen. House: Cossu. Desired Position: Chaser; Captain.
What's your Quidditch Background? "My grandmother was one of the last recorded wizards in our family tree, and as the only grandchild to also be gifted we often bonded over features of the magical world. Quidditch was always important to us, it was time away from the 'cultured' things in life, like ballet or languages. My grandmother wasn't necessarily a conventional extension of the royal family, y'know? She didn't mind hitching up her skirts and throwing a quaffle around with me. We also often attended Quidditch games and cheered for the Denmark national team. I also read quite a lot of Quidditch books passed on from my Grandmother, that is... in between Jane Austen and other such classics. Since my arrival at Beauxbatons I have been practicing Quidditch almost as frequently as I have been practicing dance."
RP Sample:
It was the first game of the year and Aurelie acknowledged the notion that there was plenty of responsibility on her shoulders to lead the team to victory. She had written home and told them of her newly found position as team captain, but today she felt the full pressure of what was to come. As they stood in the locker room, preparing to walk out to the pitch and greet the cheering crowds, she saw the expectant looks on her players' faces. Gripping her brooms, she smiled delicately to each of them. "Win or lose, we're a team. Go out there and play your hearts out, and know that every Cossu student in the stands is cheering with pride," she kept it short and sweet before slipping into her Captain robes and leading the team to the entrance onto the fields. They were versing Sournois this game, and needless to say she had expected it to be rough - but they were prepared, after vigorous hours of training.
As they stepped out onto the field the team was greeted with heavy rain and wind, prompting a grimace from the chaser. Wind, hail or shine they would play - she could only hope that each of them had the endurance to make it through the game. Their walk to the centre was accented by cheering, as she met the other captain in the centre and shook their hands with a polite smile. A twinkle in her eyes as she glanced towards Alexandre, she could only hope that her first game would do him (and everyone else) proud. They'd all been working hard for this, and a win would showcase such abilities. As the whistle blew, Aurelie launched herself in the air with a giant cheer. "LET'S GO COSSU!" she exclaimed, bringing about smiles from players who had previously been sulking about the weather. Heck, they were Cossu players and she expected their attitude to the game to reflect such sentiments.
She flew against the wind, following up her fellow chasers in a collective group of three as they flew towards the goals. There was hardly anytime to look for bludgers, she had to place her entire trust in their beaters and rest assured that the other members of her team could do their job. However, as a bludger was aimed at the girl with the quaffle and quickly dropped Aurelie swooped in from behind to grab it whilst the girl on the right had stopped to help her friend before she plummeted to the ground. Thus, left on her own she continued to fly onwards to the goals. Chasers from the other team following up on the rear, prepared to barge her and grab the ball any chance the got. Clutching it tightly with her two hands, she would have liked to be giving her team mates support as they deflected bludgers with no cheers from their captain, but instead she found herself flying onwards with rain stinging her eyes.
As she came to the goals, the keeper of the other team sneered. With all her might she aimed (careful not to take too long as the opposing chasers were fast and on her tail) and threw the ball in the direction of the hoops. However, unfortunately the keeper of the other team had been too quick and deflected the shot with the end of their broom. Defeated for a few moments, she regained herself and flew onwards to her team - giving a few of the beaters a pat on the back and preparing to take the quaffle back. There was no time to sulk over spilt milk, they were constantly in action. "C'MON COSSU, CHINS UP. WE CAN DO THIS!!" she shouted, her voice breaking and echoing in the harsh wind.

Name: Mórrígan Masen Age: eighteen House: Sournois Desired Position: Beater; Captain
What's your Quidditch Background?
“I've been an avid Quidditch player and fan for as long as I can remember. It was actually one of the very few things me and my twin could actually agree on while we were still at home growing up and even to this day, it's probably one of the only things we really have in common. When we were young, we used to have miniature one on one matches in the garden. It was actually something our father introduced us to and probably the nicest thing he ever did for us.
When I went to Hogwarts, as soon as I was able to, I tried out to be on the Slytherin house team and ended up as a Beater there as well. I've always been that little bit better at being a Beater above any other position on a Quidditch team, but that doesn't mean I'm incapable of playing in other spots.I just have more strengths as a Beater – a strong arm, a good aim, excellent hand eye coordination...that sort of thing, the things you would expect from the Beaters in your team.”
RP Sample:
Sournois vs. Rouerie – this was going to be one hell of a game. Mórrígan hadn't really slept much the night before, but there was nothing a good strong coffee with a ton of sugar in it couldn't fix. That was what had brought her bouncing around the changing rooms whilst some of her other team mates looked positively sick. It was just a friendly game, so she couldn't quite understand what the big deal was and why there were so many long faces sitting around.
Regardless of this as soon as the announcements started, everyone was quickly on their feet and assembled ready to head outside. Lightly jogging along with her team mates, her bright hazel gaze lifted as soon as they were outside, resisting the urge to spin around and take in the full effect of the packed out Quidditch stadium. This was one of the best parts about Quidditch, for her at least – you were performing to an audience, but they could barely see you half the time.
Being up in the air. Now that was the best part about Quidditch for Mórrígan and she was thankful that it wasn't long before both teams were completely up in the air and play was in finally session. She twirled her club theatrically as she waiting for an incoming bludger. Her eyes scanned around quickly, watching the progress of play from a little way off the side so as not to get in the way of the Chasers as they zipped around the field.
When she finally caught sight of a bludger, it was heading the other way, but that didn't stop her chasing after it. She sort of skidded in the air to bring herself to a halt as it suddenly changed direction and headed straight towards her, bracing herself. She swung her arm back and brought it forward again just in time for her club to connect with the bludger and send it in another direction, the impact of the hit sending reverberations down her arm as if she'd just hit her elbow on something.
She shook it out, quickly ducking out of the way of the seekers as they flew passed, apparently already on the snitch's tail. If they caught it, the game would be over before it had even felt like it had begun. Oh, well, she had to keep reminding herself that this was just supposed to be a friendly game – it wasn't about the points or who won...who was she kidding? Quidditch was always about the points and always about who won, friendly or not.

Aurelie - it'll be a pleasure to have you on the Cossu Quidditch team! As for Captainship, you are most certainly a contender. Applications for team captains will be done after there is a full team established.
Morrigan - Your experience on the Slytherin team is excellent, and of course (not playing family favourites) you're a great choice for captain. Applications for team captains will be done after there is a full team established, though (so no playing favourites for me! haha) Welcome to the Sournois Quidditch team!

Name: Layla Jameson Age: 16 House: Cool-ssu Desired Position: Keeper
What's your Quidditch Background? As the youngest of three, Layla wasn’t given much wiggle room to become the star Quidditch player of her household. However, that’s not to say she doesn’t know her way around a pitch. Her father was a beater for Rouerie when he attended Beauxbatons way back in the day and her mother was quite good at sitting prettily on the stands. As the three Jameson children grew up, they were taught how to ride a broom and would frequently play outside in a small mock pitch their father had constructed for them. It contained only one set of hoops, much the same way a muggle household would set up a single basketball hoop in the driveway. Layla’s older brother Jensen was the athletic child, as was expected since he was the typical big burly boy of the family. He took after their father in his love for the sport, but became a keeper rather than a beater. He didn’t have the heart to go about smashing rather creepy little rock balls into his opponents. Jensen played for Cossu when he was in attendance at Beauxbatons.
Layla’s sister, Michele, on the other hand was all about the glory and played as a seeker. She never played competitively at school, insisting that she had better things to do with her time and that she was so good that the matches would be unfair if she played. Layla thought she was full of it. While her sister was quite speedy on the right kinds of brooms, when placed in competition her head got a little too fogged up with her ego and she missed out on a lot of important clues as to where the snitch was headed. Now, Layla on the other hand took after her brother. While her sister flew around the property chasing down a snitch, her father and brother stuck Layla in front of the hoops and taught her how to be a keeper. She never had any real drive to play the sport at school, and wouldn’t dream of trying out for any other position since she had only really been taught how to be a keeper. She loved the smell of the grass on the pitch and the cool breeze that blew across the open field. She loved the instinctual feeling of the hoops, strong and tall behind her, as her body sat pricked in anticipation on the edge of her broom. This year things are different. She hasn’t really gotten the chance to play around with her family much since her siblings are all grown up now and off living their married, grown up lives. Not to mention her old man of a father (okay, not really that old…) would probably break a hip if he tried to get back on a broom. Layla is immensely interested in getting involved in the sport again.
“I guess I’d have to say I just want to best my brother. Kidding, sort of. But really though, it’s been ages since I’ve gotten to really play. When I was young I spent a lot of time out of doors in the summer with my brother and sister racing around on brooms and playing mock games. Then when I got to school I was a first year and my brother was a senior and obviously I wasn’t about to try out for Quidditch when the only position I could play was keeper and that’s when golden boy Jensen was already pretty set in. He egged me on to do it, but I just didn’t have the courage. Then when he graduated I didn’t really have much inspiration to join the team. But now I really miss the game. I miss my siblings being around to play with me and I think it’s time I got back into it while I still have time here at school. Once I graduate, that chance to play is pretty much gone, isn’t it?”
RP Sample: A gentle pitter-patter against the lightly fogged window panes; a dismal gray filter casting a dreary look over her somewhat brightly decorated bedroom. Gentle snores danced across the room as Layla moved as lithely as she could manage around her side of the spacious Cossu dorm room. She shared with three other girls, none of whom she was particularly friendly with. Well, that might not be the exact way to phrase it. She was perfectly friendly with the girls, and they were all friendly with her; they just weren’t actual friends. They saw one another in their room and asked casual questions in passing about homework or personal issues they had overhead like ‘how is your brother’s broken toe?’ or ‘did your sister work things out with her boyfriend?’ but there was never any real bonding that went on between them. It wasn’t like Layla was separate from the other three either. None of the four girls were particularly better friends with any of the other three they lived with. They just lived in mutual comfort. Which Layla rather liked best, to be honest. She had tried out the living with your best friends thing and they wasted hours not sleeping and not doing homework and it really put a damper on the young brunette’s grades.
It was early Saturday morning. Earlier than usual. Earlier than had to be truth be told. Layla was ‘up’ an hour or two before she really had to leave her dorm. Team practice was scheduled for that morning but Layla was a little nervous about herself and wanted to be there early to warm herself up a bit. She wanted to get the lay of the pitch just right and start working her way into a comfortable balance with the hoops she was supposed to be tending. She had only really ever known the ones her father had constructed in her own backyard. Granted, hoops were hoops no matter where they were put but if you weren’t intimidated by the Beauxbatons Quidditch pitch then you were a complete and utter fool. Massive columns and stands were evenly spaced in a circle around the designated area of the pitch. House colors and banners streamed from each of the giant towers while the school colors filled in the spaces in between. The grass was always perfectly groomed and the sand raked into an even design of intertwining circles, much resembling a zen garden of sorts just without the rocks and oddly shaped plants. The goal posts had been freshly painted for the upcoming season and when you were close enough and the wind was blowing just right you could still catch that chemical whiff of the paint. It was a nice smell, really. One of Layla’s favorites.
The girl tiptoed across the room towards her desk where her gloves rested in the exact place she had left them the night before. She gently tossed them onto her unmade bed, on top of her goggles and headband. Her tank top fit uncomfortably tight this morning but that was because all of the rest of her clothes were in the wash and the house elves hadn’t dropped them off yet. She didn’t have much else of a choice for clothes to put on under her athletic robes. She had laid the robe set out on the back of her chair, but somehow throughout the night it had managed to fall to the floor. When she picked it up to put it on, she had to shake it a little bit to clear some dust and grime off the hem. There were a few new wrinkles but they weren’t too noticeable and she was pretty sure no one was going to care since they’d be flying around in the misty morning dew anyways. She’d be soaked within minutes of stepping outside. She gave the robe a hard shake and it gave a little snap, which she hadn’t been expecting. One of her roommates gave a start in her snoring and Layla froze, her eyes staring hard over her left shoulder in fear that she had woken one of the girls. They had been up pretty late last night, sitting in the common room talking with friends or adventuring around whatever parts of the castle they could get into at such a late hour. Layla didn’t want to wake them and risk ruining the nice balance they had going.
She slipped into the robes and tucked her feet into her boots. After giving her hair a quick brush Layla secured it tightly with a thin black hair band right at the base of her neck. She used the head band to tame the tiny hairs around the outline of her hair line. If it was wet outside she wanted to take all the necessary precautions to make sure her thick brown hair didn’t get stuck to her face. She slid her wand into her pocket, hung her goggles around her neck, and pulled on her gloves. With one last glance around the room to make sure she wasn’t forgetting anything else, she headed silently towards the door to the room. Disappearing around the edge of the door with barely a whisper, Layla found herself bounding down the stairs that lead towards the common room. She slowed as she approached the shared dormitory room in case there was anyone crazy enough to be up this early on a Saturday and hanging out by the fire or something. She poked her head around the corner and to her relief the room was empty. Back into hurry mode. Within minutes she had managed to weave her way through the castle and onto the grounds. Naturally she moved pretty fast for a vampire but that was one thing she really loved about Quidditch. The broom wasn’t part of her. She couldn’t take advantage of it like she could her own two legs. Surely if she wanted to join the track team, which only muggle schools had apparently, she would have been turned away because of her blood. She would be able to outrun everyone. She couldn’t outfly a broom though. It didn’t have the same genetic composition as her. She loved it. She finally got to feel normal.
The pitch loomed up ahead like a shadow. A thick fog had settled over the grounds. It was thick a few inches off the ground so that Layla could barely see her own feet if she looked down but then it was pretty thin for a solid twenty or so feet up into the air. Then it spanned thick, like one giant wet cloud, as far as the eye could see. The morning mist clung to her hair and the nape of her neck. It dewed into little droplets on her robes and Layla was relatively sure she was going to get extremely uncomfortable flying about in all this moisture. Hopefully she would be used to it by the time practice started. Layla headed quickly into the locker room and grabbed one of the team brooms she had been using so far. She hadn’t gone to purchase her own broom just yet because she wasn’t really sure which kind to get. She had been trying out different kinds that the school had owned and while they weren’t exactly in tip top shape they got the job done. As long as the broom could handle the short sprint from one goal post to the next it was going to work out just fine for her. She completely understood why the seekers brought their own brooms though. They would never last on the school equipment.
The field was especially tended today and Layla wasn’t quite sure why. Maybe yesterday was its weekly care day or something. Usually it didn’t look this nice when she was heading out for a practice day. She didn’t hate it, though. In fact, all the freshly trimmed grass smelled rather delicious after its morning soak. The clippings had all been raked away, which was good because otherwise they would have just clumped onto the bottom of her shoes as she walked across to where she usually kicked off. Her boots started to darken in color as the wetness from the grass spread across her toes and she couldn’t resist jumping on her broom a little earlier than usual. She didn’t want uncomfortably wet socks all through practice too. That would drive her absolutely mental. The pitch was silent and felt even larger than before, now that she was actually flying around inside. The scenery had changed and now instead of the Quidditch pitch seeming like one giant gray shadow, the castle had all its color drained and replaced the silhouette. You could hardly make it out across the way if you were unfamiliar with where it was positioned.
Layla spent a little while riding around the circular field, warming herself up with some laps and then weaving in and out of the seating towers and columns placed around the edge. She had to get used to the handling of the unfamiliar broom in these conditions. Luckily she picked it up rather quickly since this broom was on the more basic side of handling. Sometimes she would grab a broom that you had to put way too much effort into or way too little effort into in order to get it to listen to you. She preferred the more effort over the little though. She’d rather look like she was struggling than look like she had no clue what she was doing and overshoot guarding her own hoop by ten yards. That got embarrassing. 45 minutes passed with hardly a notice from the petite brunette. Her hair was soaked to her head, but thanks to her headband it stayed out of her face.
“Oy! Layla!”
The voice seemed faint, but startled her none the less. She had been practicing her sprints across the span of her goal tending space, making sure she was able to make it from one side to the other and stop herself in a good guarding position. The sound of another person made her twitch to the left a little too hard and her broom spun in a 360 move. She took a moment to steady herself before she looked down. A tiny familiar figure, one of her teammates, stood on the grass down below staring up at her with broom in hand. Layla looked up towards the sky to see if she could determine the time by the position of the sun but the fog made it impossible to tell if the sun was even out, let alone where it was. It still felt pretty early, but then again she didn’t really know how much time she had wasted. She gave a quick wave down at the ground and the figure waved back frantically, beckoning her down towards the grassy field. Layla pursed her lips, confused, but tilted forward on her broom and descended towards her teammate. Once within earshot, she spoke up.
“Hey, I was jus-“
“What are you doing? Why are you out here? We’ve got a game in an hour and a half. You’re going to tire yourself out.”
“A game?! I thought we had practice!” Layla started to panic. She never would have come to fly around so early if she knew she had a game. She would have spent the morning preparing herself and calming her nerves which at this moment had absolutely sky rocketed.
“No, no. Today is the makeup game against Rouerie. We’re all inside getting dressed together. Someone brought some muffins and fruit, if you’re feeling peckish.” Her teammate turned and headed back towards the tunnels which led off the field and into the dressing rooms. Layla stood for a moment on the grass feeling rather foolish. She realized she looked even more foolish just standing there as her teammate disappeared under the pitch so she tucked her broom under her arm and hurried on after her.
[An hour and a half later]
Tweeeeeeeeeeeeeeetttttt
The whistle blew and Layla watched as the giant red quaffle was flung into the air. The sounds of dozens of muffled stamping feet echoed around the pitch as all of the players kicked off from the cold damp ground. Bodies rose into the air and within seconds the colors of the prettily arranged teams from moments earlier were all mixed up across the pitch. Layla flew quickly to her position in front of the three large hoops. She tilted her broom from side to side, as if she was jumping between her two feet keeping herself on her toes for any sudden plays. Her own chasers had managed to secure the quaffle first and were working their way through the Rouerie side of the field. She thought she heard the faint whir of the snitches wings close by, but she dared not turn her head to look in case the play changed and she found herself ambushed by Rouerie players. She caught her breath as one of her own chasers took a shot, but it went wide and a Rouerie chaser caught it. The dark haired girl flicked it harder than Layla thought she could up towards one of her male teammates. He tucked the ball beneath his arm and made a beeline right for Layla. Their eyes locked and Layla took a moment to take a deep breath and calm herself. She had done this a million times. She knew that the boys eyes might give his plans away, but his fingers were what she really needed to pay attention to. He could very well trick her with his eyes.
Her own blue eyes flicked between the boys gaze and his fingers as he cradled the quaffle. The twitch in his fingers told her he was still unsure of where he was going to take his shot. His gaze remained steadily on her, trying not to give anything away until the last second. He wove through the Cossu players trying to keep up with him. He was a rather fast flyer, which Layla could admire in a Quidditch player. It wasn’t easy to dodge other bodies flying at you on top of dodging the bludgers trying to take your head off all while trying to read the wind so you didn’t get swept off the course you were trying to take towards the goal post. He was drawing closer. His shot would come any second now. Layla caught her breath. His eyes flicked to his left, his hand snaking the ball out from under his arm. Layla flew to his right…
And made the save! Her fingers clasped tightly around the odd grips of the quaffle and she pulled it close to her as a Rouerie and Cossu player flew a little too close for comfort, ready to catch the rebound if she dropped the ball or swatted it back into play. She ducked her head for a second, and as she lifted it back to take a look around the field and put the ball back in place she caught the boy’s eye. He glared at her, disappointment all over his face that she was able to read his trick play. She knew he was going to be a hassle now. She saw an open Cossu player making a cut across the pitch and tossed the quaffle into their path. The girl dropped a foot or so and let the ball into her arms and then she was off again, racing down the field and tossing the ball back and forth between her teammates. Layla flew back to her center position in front of the goal posts and watched the play carefully. She took a deep breath. She was doing okay. Her robes clung to her thighs and a steady stream of water began to run down the back of her neck as the mist thickened into a gentle rain. First save down. Only god knows how many left.
// got a bit carried away, its been ages since I've written a post! I swear I won't do this all the time haha
