There were people missing from his life that he wished to see, but Nathaniel had to be patient. Although his patience doesn't last very long and sooner or later he had to find some outlet. Morrigan was gone and he hadn't heard from her for weeks. November was busy trying to establish something with their professor. It's not that Nathaniel didn't know what was going on, but he ignored it. He wouldn't want to come between their relationship and whatever they have going on. It just got annoying when his roommate came back during the night and he could smell her perfume all over him. They were not trying to hide whatever they were doing.
But what can Nathaniel do? He was gone for so long that he hardly recognizes anyone. Yes there were several students he was still close with, but he couldn't find them nowadays. He was practically by himself. It was little disheartening that he'd have to start over making some new friends. But as he stood there looking through the Clocktower's face, he thought about the upside of things. With new friends, come new experiences. Also he can corrupt his new friends if they were just accepted and sorted into school. But no one will ever replace his old friends that he called brothers. They were long gone, but their memories still remained fresh in his mind.
Sighing out loudly, Nathaniel sat on the floor and laid back to stare at the ceiling. All day it was boring and he couldn't determine what he wanted to do. If he continued thinking about the past, then he'd just become depressed. And if he kept moping around because Morrigan wasn't around, then he'd be sink even more into depression and possibly do something he'd regret. And lastly, the thought of signing up for classes was a joke. He could never keep up with them even if he tried because he found it too bothersome to stick his nose in the books when all he'd want to do is stay outdoors and have fun. "I'm just stuck. I don't even know why I bothered coming back," he muttered, tossing a crumpled piece of paper he found up and catching it. | [atrb=width,100] words ,

Giselle Mitchell laid on her bed, hands folded on her tummy and her brown eyes closed. Life here just sucked sometimes. Back at home, she had been so popular. Yup, that was why her life sucked. People here at Beauxbatons just didn’t give a flying fleur about her. Sure, she had met a ton of new people since coming here, but the guys just weren’t interested. Giselle seemed to be the only one capable of falling for anyone and they always fell for someone else. She wondered if maybe this was a sign of some sort. Maybe she just wasn’t meant to be happy in the love department. Maybe her ex boyfriend, Thomas, was the only one who would ever really are for her in that way. A frown formed on the brunette’s lips. She hoped not…Tom treated her like garbage; she still had some of the scars to prove it. She swung her legs abruptly off the bed. It was going to be one of those days where Giselle avoided attending any of her classes and focused on exploring instead. It was funny to think that after 2 weeks of exploring this castle and it’s grounds, there were still some corridors and passageways she hadn’t ventured into. This magical place was an absolute maze. Some of the portraits and tapestries that lined that walls hid secret doors no one could access without the password or secret “key”. She felt like a loser for being a “half blood”, as she was often referred to, and not knowing all these magical things. Damn her parents for keeping her so secluded. For once, Giselle wasn’t wearing heels, making her walk down the corridors abnormally silent. This was an advantage, she thought, in case a prefect showed up and she was somewhere she wasn’t supposed to. Prefect’s were such buzz kills---a huge castle like this and they expect people not to explore? PSH, yeah right. Anyway, Giselle headed in a random direction, knowing that no matter where she went, she would find somewhere she had never been. Sure enough, as she walked, she spotted a stone staircase behind a slightly ajar door. Raising a single eyebrow in curiosity, the small Cossu approached the door, feeling a cold gust of air hit her skin. b]Whoa
[/b][/color] she whispered, taking one cautious step and then another. Giselle shut the door behind her and soon, there was nothing but a spiral staircase and cold air in this corridor. Giselle silently walked up the stairs, until she was met by another oak door. Geez, there were just doors everywhere, huh? Her hand was on the doorknob when she heard a voice come from the other side. ”I’m just stuck. I don’t even know why I bothered coming back.” Giselle frowned. She knew exactly who it was. She turned the knob and opened the door, sticking her head though the gap and looking to see if she was right. ”Are you moping again, handsome?” she asked after insuring that it was Nathaniel in the tower. She didn’t step in any further, in case Nathaniel did not want the company. She wasn’t going to just barge in on him when she knew he was so unhappy. The only thing that held him back though was the chance to actually graduate from this place. He knew he still had a long way to go, but it didn’t help that he was lazy when it came to school work and actually attending. Nathaniel is bright! He just finds the classes less challenging and there was no longer a reason to come when his friends disappeared. To go into a class alone and not have someone to talk to can be boring. Besides he had other things in mind and it was proving difficult to get over. It would be best if he could face reality and the fact that people change and over time so do relationships. He really didn’t like this side of himself. He used to not be bothered by it, but Morrigan was different. She meant a whole lot to him. His friends meant the world to him. He sighed again, frustrated with himself. He was so much better than this!
While his thoughts continued with their argument, he was able to pick up on a scent that ascended up the stairwell. The person’s heart beating resounded in his ears and her steady breathing. Perhaps this would be the perfect opportunity to distract him from his thoughts. Just stray him from the world that he was so worried about. He looked over at the door at Giselle and he was quite taken by her radiant beauty and dark long locks of hair. She was his peace at mind at this moment, finally letting his frustrations go for the time being. “I do my moping best when I’m alone,” he replied. And here is when it will end because he didn't want the weight of his problems on her shoulders. Nathaniel sat up and juggled the crumpled piece of paper between his palms, looking at Giselle and offering a friendly smile. “You can join me. I’m done for now.”
He should feel guilty spending time with a girl who is not Morrigan; however, he couldn't help but feel at ease in her presence. He had friends like Giselle around the school, if they were around, but who can tell these days. He could be himself around her. And well he liked Giselle a lot because she was cool to hang around and talk with. “So what brings you up here? Besides trying to sneak up on me, which by the way was a very unsuccessful attempt,” he teased.
