Noemi thought she had this whole school thing down. She had gone to all of her classes, she arrived with the proper textbooks and parchment. She made sure that there was enough ink and quills to last through the term and she left her room early so that she was quite early. She had planned her outfits to make her look extra smart and she could not help but to feel the part as well. She thought she had done all that was necessary, but that did not even come close. She had forgotten where this one last class was. Or at least she must have.
When she arrived at the Hut, she thought that she was extremely early for her Care for Magical Creatures class, but after sitting there for about half an hour she began to waver from that position. Either everyone else was super dim or they were playing a prank on her. There was no way that Noemi would make a mix up like this. She was too smart for this. She had even dressed the part, so that should make up for any mistake. She was a Rouerie, she was not meant to make mistakes like this. This was meant for someone who was new to this, and Noemi was not even close to that.
She was embarrassed to say the least, but now she was at a loss of what to do. She waited outside the hut and the groundskeeper was nowhere near, so she assumed she had free will to hang out here until something else came across her mind. Noemi took a seat on the ground and leaned against the hut. She peered out into the enchanted forest and wondered what sort of creatures were actually there, maybe she would make up her own class and learn by going off on her own into the woods. The thought of doing something that daring made her smirk, that old mischievous smirk.

Once not so long ago Asahria had been under the impression that she would never be able to walk these grounds again, not without the constant sorrow that had for so long fatigued her. She had even gone so far as to look into other schools; Hogwarts had been on the agenda for some time, as she’d hoped to make a new life there. She didn’t think she’d had the heart nor the will power to face Charlton again, not after everything, but it seemed as though he'd disappeared somewhere alongside her, as was usual Charlton style. Of course his memory haunted her, but she was finding that each day it was becoming more distant – if only for her constant vigilance in suppressing it.
Daring had never really been part of Asahria’s vocabulary, but recently it had become something more close to home. Others might have called it reckless, but how was anyone to know the difference. The only thing that mattered was that she was dealing – Charlton was somewhere back in the dark corners of her mind and she’d made it a point to keep him there. Having met with Leah recently she’d been met with the sudden realization that she couldn't lie in the corner broken hearted forever. She’d had to make something of herself. Maybe there was some good in what she’d taken from Charlton, he’d always been fickle at heart. Besides she was doing no one any harm, she was single after all.
Smiling to herself Asahria played gently with the hem of her copper dress, her cornflower blue eyes following bits of earth as she kicked at them pointedly with the toe of her shoe. Her classes had finished for the day and she'd felt cornered in her small dorm room. Finally, she'd given herself some room to explore. She knew as well as everyone else that she'd holed herself off for far too long. She'd been gone a year after all and it had been a long year in that there was no mistaking.
Ass Asahria topped the hill her gaze was drawn to the groundskeepers hut, not the hut itself, but rather the striking red hair which sat vacantly on it's steps. The girl had all her bags in tow as if she were waiting for class to start. Raising a brow, Asahria started towards her. I'm pretty sure all Care of Magical Creatures classes have been taking place inside due to the cold. I could be wrong though.. She ended her voice questioning as she closed the distance. Getting a closer look at the fiery red head Asahria allowed herself to smile.
Noemi, is that you? What are you doing out here?

Oh, great, just what she needed. Someone to witness her complete and utter stupidity and also someone who pointed it out. Noemi was about to fume, and she was about to start yelling and throwing pebbles everywhere. Which was only a typical way for her to start a day to be quite honest. But she was stopped when the girl knew her name. Noemi gazed up from where her previous attention had been on the grass growing around her and she saw that it was Asahria Ryek.
The two had never been the closest of friends, but after all this time being in the same house and surrounded by the same people, they had become decent friends. And a few decent friends were all that Noemi needed. Noemi had always been the first one to end relationships because she got bored or the other people did not know how to deal with her, so that made decent friends hard to come by. She always wanted a few ones who would stick around and Asa happened to be one of them. She was actually relieved when she noticed it was her because going on and starting this school year just like the others may not have been the best of ideas.
"I thought it was here and it turns out it isn't," she stated the obvious. "And then I just gave up all hope of ever making it to class so I took a seat." It made her sound a bit like a bad student, but everyone was allowed a mistake here or there. It just happened that the here or there for Noemi was closer than most others. "But, yes, it's me. I thought I was going to class. What exactly are you doing here?" She wondered what Asa was doing because she was carrying no books in tow. Maybe she was just taking a stroll or going on a daring adventure into the woods. Whatever she had intended to do, Noemi was here to mess it all up and change the agenda since now Asa had stopped to talk to her.

Having spoken Asahria suddenly felt very foolish, of course she’d known it was Noemi. The pale skin, combination of soft freckles, and fiery hair had been a dead giveaway. Although the two girls had never been close Asahria was almost certain that she could spot the girl from a mile away. Noemi was a fellow Rouerie and though she knew little about her, Asahria had always been compelled by the younger girl’s personality. She held this certain soft beauty, but Asahria was determined that the girl’s temper was a fiery as her hair. She couldn’t really say for sure, but she’d always had a certain inkling that it might. The girl continued to keep her attention on the ground as she closed the distance between them, her feet scuffing at the ground.
When finally Noemi met her gaze, Asahria was sure that relief was etched in the fragile features of her face. The way she sat there dejected on the steps of the hut with her bag in tow, had quickly led Asahria to believe that her priorities were elsewhere. It would seem that she had given up, much like herself. "I thought it was here and it turns out it isn't. And then I just gave up all hope of ever making it to class so I took a seat." She couldn’t help, but laugh as Noemi spoke. Once, Asahria would have likely pointed her in the right direction, but now she wasn’t sure she even knew. The simple statement had made her feel at ease with her red headed friend, it was relieving to know that she wasn’t the only one who seemed to be lost in returning. Instead she smoother her dress against her and took a seat beside Noemi resting her arms gently on her knees.
It seems like just as good idea to me as any. Offering a smile, Asahria realized she would have been hypocritical for saying anything else. She couldn’t even count how many classes she had missed for no other reason than she hadn’t wanted to go. She hadn’t used to be like this, but something was missing and because of it she had abandoned all normal behavior. I was just.. she stopped realizing that she really hadn’t really know what her end goals were. Just walking around, really. I had nothing better to do and sitting in the dormitories gets so boring. She noted, sighing slightly. Of all people Asahria knew that statement to be true. She had spent weeks on ends hiding away in her bed, for the mere fact that she’d felt alone. T had been hard getting back into the groove of things here, but finally she was managing. Did you plan to sit here all day or did you have something else in mind? She smiled, a hint of mischievousness lighting her face. She was sure that fiery Noemi was in there somewhere.

Noemi smiled when Asahria took a seat next to her. It was nice to know that she was not about to be chastised for skipping class. All of her life, Noemi had to keep up with the standards that her sisters set up for her. They were always doing things better than her and she hated that. She hated being in their shadows, but she was also very much her own person. She would hate to admit that, sometimes because that would give her nothing to complain about or pursue toward, but she definitely was not in any shadow any longer. It has been years since either one of her sisters was near Beauxbaton and their legacy was now surviving through her. She was the one who was going to leave a lasting impression on the world concerning her family, at least here at Beauxbaton. She was the one to finish it off, and the thought sort of excited her.
She was who they were going to be looking at when they remembered what those girls had done for the school, and the feeling was quite eerie. Noemi considered Asa. She thought of her and the legacy that she was going to leave this place. It would be one that was much happier than Noemi's, that was for certain. Although, being a good person had never come naturally to the redhead. She had always been as much as a fireball as the locks that came streaming down past her shoulders. She had always been just as wild and rambunctious. There was never any reason she was going to change that, especially for the sake of reputation.
But being sweet and nice came naturally for Asa, Noemi was sure of it. Otherwise, she would not have been as welcoming as she had been all those years. Even now, she was as nice as can be, and it sort of made Noemi sick to her stomach, but she was going to forget about that because there were more important things than fighting. There were things like getting to know people and becoming good friends.
"Oh, trust me, I know," she told her when she mentioned how boring the dormitories could be. Noemi always wandered because if she spent a minute overtime locked up in the Rouerie chambers, she felt like she was going to tear her hair out. "I really had nothing planned, but I am always up for a little adventure." Noemi looked at Asa, smiling. There was always room for making friends, right? The last thing that she was in need of was any sort of enemy.

Asahria fiddled with the sheer hem of her dress, her blue eyes turned towards Noemi. She was met with an overwhelming sense of relief as a small smile played upon the girl's lips, showing the invitation to be open. Word had it that Noemi was quite the fireball and sitting here in her company Asahria didn't doubt it. If it was as if the air around her cackled in mere response to her presence. While she'd never felt a strong pull to be in the girls company something had changed, because suddenly Asahria wanted that exuberance to be her own. She knew that without a doubt had she been in Noemi's position she would have wandered off searching for her class, only to be there moments before it was dismissed. Ever since she'd returned, Asahria wasn't sure she wanted to be that person anymore. She'd lost everything, including her sense of self.
Noemi seemed totally self assured and unencumbered, both of which Asahria found she totally lacked. Biting her lip she felt a growing edge of guilt,. It was her fault she'd lost everything. Everyone. She'd left without a word a stunt which was so unlike her, she wasn't entirely sure where it'd come from. In pushing everyone away she'd allowed herself to become her own worst enemy. Sighing she pushed the thought to back of her mind. It was gone, everything that had once mattered was gone. She was gone, somewhere, and right now the thought of bringing herself back seemed impossible and entirely too painful.
"I really had nothing planned, but I am always up for a little adventure." The idea brought a spark to her otherwise dark mind, perhaps Noemi was what she needed right now. Asahria loved her friends, she did, but they were a constant reminder of everything she was doing wrong. She didn't need to be told what to do. If anything all she needed was to be able to feel something. She'd been encased in a shell of her own emotions for what seemed like an eternity now. Asahria wanted the chance to escape it - to be able to actually feel the world again.
Turning her gaze to the forest she knew she'd experienced far too little. She'd barely allowed herself to walk within it's vicinity. Far too often she'd been warned against the dark dangers of the forest and what harm they could shed upon one so porcelain-like as herself. Asahria wasn't a doll and she'd spent too long letting others tell her she that she was - fragile and breakable. Nobody had ever accepted her for having strength of her own, not even herself, she'd always willingly depended on others. For once in her life Asahria needed to know that she could depend on herself. An adventure sounds splendid. Want to go search out some dark thing hiding in the woods. I can't set foot in the castle again, not right now anyways.
ooc;; I'm thinking maybe Noemi can help fuel some of Asahria's reckless habits, since she's kind of abandoned her old self for a time ^^

When Noemi looked at Ashria, she could not figure her out. Sure, there was the obvious kindness that seemed to just simply radiate off the girl, which normally would annoy Noemi. She sort of had this airiness to her, not in the sense that she was dumb, but in the sense that she seemed to have no troubles in her life. Noemi highly believed that, but there was always those few people who had no troubles, and maybe Asa was lucky enough to be one of them. Noemi knew next to nothing about the girl besides that they shared a common love interest, but she was far past that guy. She didn’t want to even do the decency of naming him a man. Noemi hated to think about those days, though, and she instead focused on the lovely girl in front of her.
That was the perfect word for her, too. Lovely. Why, she was all that the word meant, and she encompassed every single aspect of it all. Noemi looked at it with an envy because she was everything that the girl could never seem to grasp. Noemi was known for being like fire, yet Asa seemed to resemble more of an angel. Maybe it was the blonde hair that was making her opinion than anything else, but Asa seemed like a genuinely good person. She would be surprised if the girl was capable of hurting anything. Whereas, Noemi had no trouble stomping on other people’s feelings. At least, that was the general consensus that the school seemed to come up with. The rumors hurt Noemi, but she would rather be known as someone to be wary of than someone to take advantage of.
The words were just another day for Noemi, but to Asa going into the woods was probably a whole new experience. Noemi smiled at the thought of being the one to take her onto an adventure. Now, Noemi was giving herself the impression that she was some adventure extraordinaire, which was far from the truth. Yes, she has gone into the Enchanted Woods, and survived the perilous forest, but that wasn’t to say she wasn’t scared to death the entire time. She had been. But she wanted to make herself believe that she was better than being scared. She was not some little girl who would cry at the howl of a werewolf in the moonlight or be frightened of something as ghoulish as a dementor. No, she was stronger and better than that. At least, that was what she wanted to make herself believe. She had a reputation to live up to and she did not want to disappoint. How selfish of her would that be? It would be too selfish. She was doing this for the greater good.
So she stood up and wiped the dirt away from her clothing. ”Come on, then,” she said, rather forcefully. She flipped her head, her hair whipping behind her, and stared off into the direction of the woods. ”Let’s get to exploring before it gets dark out.” No, she was not scared of the woods, but being there in the dark was a whole other ballgame that she was not quite sure she was ready for yet.

. .
It seemed that the words had escaped her lips before she'd really had the chance to think them through. She bit her lip, watching Noemi carefully as she waited for her reply. She was sure that Noemi was thinking of her as though she were a child. Asahria wouldn't be surprised if she were the only student on campus who hadn't ventured off into the dark depths of the wood. While she wanted this, she needed this, some part of her was hesitant. She could just imagine the reactions from the ones who had worked so hard to keep her outside of it. Holden, he had nearly changed her once, just outside this forest edge. After that he'd been particularly more cautious than most. Not so much as Charlton though. He had chided her once for being at the lake's edge during the dark hours of the night. Se also remembered that he'd also shared what he was that fateful evening. All of them could have easily hurt her and because of it she had been restricted, by the very ones she loved.
Asahria was suddenly worried that Noemi would tell her no. That she too would back out on her, too worried to introduce her to the dangers of the forest. She hoped more than anything she would not. Right now she wanted this more than anything, she wanted to prove that she wasn't so fragile as a porcelain doll - regardless of the fact she might look one. As far as Asahria knew, Noemi was human too and just as fragile as her. Did no one worry over her or did she possess some quality that Asahria lacked. If she did, Asahria wanted it. She wanted to be seen as a force to be reckoned with. Her blue eyes turned to Noemi smiling suddenly as she stood from her place on the stairs, dusting the dirt from her clothes.
It came as a sudden relief that Noemi hadn't backed out on her, at least the girl had recognized her ability to take care of herself. Though she knew herself to be gentle and perhaps even fragile, she was not without protection. Asahria was among the best in her year. Being a muggle born made her no less capable. Asahria stood smiling brightly Noemi as she spoke, suggesting that she explore before darkness took the sky. Nodding in agreement Asahria picked up her wand and took her place beside Noemi - feeling a suddne childlike excitement at the line of trees standing before them. Finally, she was going to step beyond that boundary and there was no one to tell her no. A small part of her felt guilty, what would they say if they knew. They didn't know though and that was no fault of her own.
I know you probably think this is silly, but I've never been in the forest before. She admitted a small blush creeping onto her cheeks as she made her way to the forest, looking back to see if Noemi were close in tow. She doubted Noemi would understand, but she didn't know how to explain what had kept her from it. No one had ever stopped Noemi, but Asahria had allowed them to stop her. She always put everyone else's wishes before her own. She wasn't scared, that was the last thing on her mind. Her closest friends after all were not the safest of creatures. Her own boyfriend had been a werewolf. I always let people stop me... I'm not really sure why. I've always wanted to go.

She's never been to the Enchanted Woods before? Noemi could not believe what she was hearing. Sure, there were those people who were new to the school and did not have enough time yet to accomplish everything, but Asa had been here for years. She had always been one of the coolest girls in the school, and Noemi could not believe this. She didn't know if she should be amazed, amused or disappointed. There was something in the fact that she had never dared to venture into the mysterious forest that lied beside Beauxbaton, but what good was school without a little danger with it? At least, that was Noemi's point of view. She was a whole other story, though, and a day without danger was something that was too boring to even think about having. And it was sort of amusing to think of this girl who knew so much and did so much not do the one thing that most girls dare each other to do during boring weekends and lonely nights. It was a thrill like no other to walk among those forbidden paths. Lastly and mostly, she was sad for her because she let other people stop her.
Noemi wanted to give her a speech that no person, woman or man should stop Asa from doing what she wants or wills. That was at least how Noemi lived her life. But who was to say who was more successful in the end? Asa had a boyfriend, the boy that Noemi had loved for some time, and she had friends and she was an admired student. Noemi was synonymous with trouble at the school and she was always flirting around with whatever boy seemed to smile in her direction. There was no stopping Noemi, but others seemed to stop Asa. The two girls must look like polar opposites. One blonde, one red. One quiet, one loud. One lovely, one fiery. Yet they were both in Rouerie and now were both finding themselves enjoying one another's company on this quest.
Noemi was not going to question Asa and why she had never been there. She wasn't going to scoff at the fact she let other people stop her. She was going to keep those nasty thoughts to herself as she grabbed her newly found friend's hand and smiled at her. Her white teeth vibrant against her pale, freckled face. "No worries," she said, "there's a first time for everything." Noemi held in all of her bitterness, which was a first, and now Asa was going to venture into the grounds of rule breaking, which was obviously a first. "I can't believe that you have never been in there. What sort of Beauxbaton student doesn't go in there? It is wonderful, but scary. If you still want to go, just be warned, it gets a bit creepy." She was trying to be nice, but in typical Noemi fashion her words came off a bit harshly. It wasn't her fault that some people were so sensitive, so she was just hoping that Asa was not about to cry because Noemi would not be able to handle any tears.
She stopped right before they got to the edge of the woods. They were a step away from being inside its mysterious paths, unruly gardens and strange beasts. Noemi felt the shivers crawl up her spine, and she welcomed each and every single one of them. Now this was what she was used to. Skipping class to go into the woods. Now all she needed was a good party at the end of the day and a kiss at midnight. Her day would then be complete and she would know that she was back to normal. There had been a time where she had gone soft, where she accepted people and let their foolishness rule her world, but not now. Now she was going to be happy with herself and if anyone's stupidity tried to stomp out her light she was going to blow them away.

Having spoken so blatantly, Asahria felt extremely vulnerable here in Noemi’s presence. She suddenly felt ashamed at her own dismissal to have never stepped beyond the boundaries of the grounds allowed them. It truly wasn’t because she was scared, but how was Noemi to know such a thing. Again, Asahria chided herself for allowing Noemi to know such a fact about her. Anyone else might have thought nothing of it, but for some reason she was word that Noemi might. The fiery red head was one who stepped outside the boundaries and never limited herself and here Asahria was admitting to those very things. Why on earth had she ever allowed herself to be so limited. Her best friend was a vampire and she had dated a werewolf. Funny how those things had not been danger enough, but the simple act of crossing into the forest had. Of course, she had reason to feel ashamed. She didn’t think it was Noemi’s intention, but it was certainly where it led her.
She was briought from her reverie when suddenly a hand was upon her own, a bright smile rushing to the girls face. It seemed at least that Noemi wasn’t going to push the matter, for that Asahria was at least relieved. She didn’t feel like turning this into a deep heart to heart session. She’d had enough of those and she doubted Noemi wanted to hear it. She didn’t want to hear it herself. If anything she was just glad that Noemi hadn’t chosen to shy away and was actually willing to side her on this venture. The fact that she had placed the simple no worries before the enttire equation also helped to settle Asahria. True enough. She stated. It’s just to bad that mine came years too late. She laughed, wondering what it was she had missed in staying her ground and listening to those who had warned her otherwise.
Whatever sort of student I am, I would suppose. Her answer was indifferent, but she couldn’t really say as though she knew. Or maybe the kind with a vampire for a best friend and a werewolf for a boyfriend. Asahria stopped suddenly, not wanting to bring much into the light. She knew there was history between Noemi and Charlton and it was not a path she wantedto tred down. Not because of their former realtions. More because of the pain still riddled with his name and the fact that should the conversation turn in that direction Asahria was afraid she’d have nothing to say. I’m really not so much of a doll as everyone chooses to think. She stated, feeling the need to justify herself. She’d had her share of encounters, just none in the forest.
Of course I want to go. She laughed, trailing along behind her. I’ve got no one to stop me now. Her words were decisive, nothing would scare her away. Not even the fact that Noemi had admitted that it could be creepy. The two were not new to the school, Asahria was sure they were perfectly capable of taking care of themselves. She didn’t want to take into consideration what others thought of her, for once she was creating her own demands. Asahria smiled as Noemi stopped at the forest edge, her gaze seeming to be one of deep contemplation. She wavered a moment beside her before taking the first step , immediately finding herself shaded by the canopy of trees. Well what are you waiting for. Let’s go?

Noemi wanted to agree with her. Yes, it was too bad that your opportunity to go into the woods has awaited you this long. She wondered what Asahria did on her weekdays when she should have been in class or on the weekends when the parties died down and the full moon was blossoming underneath the garden of clouds. She wondered and she remembered that she was probably doing what every other student was, and what Noemi should have been doing. She was participating in classes, raising her hand and letting her quill write down all the notes that the professors were spilling out like spoiled milk. She was going to sleep or relaxing in the common room instead of seeking out more danger to occupy her time and mind. It seemed that Asahria had nothing to escape from, except for now.
Now she was learning what it felt like to be a Lefèvre. She was experiencing the life of Noemi and the rest of her friends. She was becoming the person who ran, who escaped to a different world in order to live. It was thrilling, it always has been, but with the thrill came the emptiness. When you were walking around aimlessly, it struck you like a knife in the heart and it bleed you out. Before you know it, you are lying there on the floor, your hands stretched out reaching for something that will never come to you. So the only thing to do is escape it all. It is to go away and become someone else. To face anything that may make your bones shiver and your breath be stolen away just to know that you can live. It is a reminder that no matter what you can get through life and all its obstacles and hoops and rocks it throws at you, even if you can't get away from that simple thing.
Noemi constantly had something to run from. From her father and his insane beliefs that he should become a Muggle, from her sisters because they left her, from her mother because she was murdered, from the boyfriends who claimed to love her but only left her aside for someone else, from the girls who promised to be best friends forever and now were only a distant memory. There was something to run from. That was a guarantee. It was finding something to run to that was more difficult.
She wondered what Asahria was running from now. She wondered what pushed her toward the edge to run toward someone like Noemi and the Woods, but it was none of her business. Which meant nothing to Noemi so she would speculate and prod and maybe even ask her, but maybe she would save it for a later time.
When Asa mentioned the werewolf for a boyfriend, Noemi's heart stopped. She had been concentrating on the woods before them, but she flipped her head toward her and looked at her. Wary of what she was going to say next. Noemi couldn't help but laugh when she said she wasn't as much of a doll as everyone thought. "You don't need to prove anything to me," she said, "But if you believe you aren't a doll, the Woods will be a real test to that." She felt bad laughing, but when Noemi looked at her she felt like she should take the girl under her wing and help her. Maybe she wasn't a doll, but Noemi hardly knew her and that was the only impression she was really getting from Asa.
Noemi chuckled as Asa stepped off into the woods, taking the first leap. That was good. Noemi would hate if she hyped herself up so much and then ran away like a cat with its tail stuck beneath its legs. "Nothing," she said as she strolled into the woods. She immediately felt an overwhelming sensation of fondness and memories and the brightness that came along with the woods. Most people took it for its dark, mysterious ways, but that was what comforted Noemi. Because that was how people described her. Dark, mysterious redhead.

. .
You don't need to prove anything to me," The words hung silently in the air between them and Asahria found herself stunned into silence. She’d never heard those words spoken, not to her. Though it may not have been her intention Noemi had ignited something within Asahria. No one had ever respected her enough to make her own decisions, not truly. Her entire life she’d been bending over backwards to please her mother and always falling short. It seemed she’d go to no end to please and always be the one left broken in the end. Finally she’d just given up. After all, she’d not needed to know what clothes to wear or which parties to attend. She’d been happier that way for a time, but it still seemed everyone needed her to prove herself. She’d done a job of it for a while making top grades and becoming head girl, but it hadn’t been enough. For her mother it had never been enough and now she was gone and Asahria had nothing to show for it. She’d not even been able to prove her worth to her friends, she’d left them all. The idea had worn into her head until she knew know other – she lived to please. Hearing otherwise meant more to her than she could ever explain and probably more than Noemi, or anyone, could ever understand. Instead of a heartfelt explanation that she doubted her fiery haired friend even wanted to hear she uttered a simple, Thanks.
It was about time that Asahria realized that she could make decisions for herself. She’d spent her whole life living for others and it had led her nowhere. She’d met heartbreak at the end of every road. Maybe this time she would find something else. Maybe she might know what it was to feel again, to truly feel. She’d kept everything at bay for so long that she’d forgotten what it was to live, to hunger for something more. With everything gone what other option did she have but to start from scratch? She smiled at the girl when she spoke next. She knew that Noemi probably thought her just as much a doll as the rest of them, but she was slowly realizing that it didn’t matter to her. She didn’t have to prove herself to anyone after all. Asahria knew what it was that she wanted and she planned on having it. Nothing else would be slipping through her fingers. I suppose you’re right. She said simply. She doubted the woods could bring her many more surprises.
It was nice being surrounded by the shroud of trees, but Asahria couldn’t say as though she felt exhilarated by taking the step. She’d always known she could. She’d always wanted to, but she had stayed its boundaries playing into the fears of those who wanted to keep her safe. She didn’t have anyone to fuss over her any longer and she was comforted in the fact that Noemi wasn’t going to stop her. She stopped, leaning against a tree as she waited for Noemi to step in pace with her. Now that she was here, she wasn’t really sure what she should be doing. She felt as though there should be some greater mission, but there really was none. There is a bridge somewhere in the woods isn’t there… she asked, trying to find some means to their ends. She’d never been there and there was a chance that Noemi hadn’t been there either, but she seemed more knowledgeable in these things.

There was a stillness to the air. As if time and space were closing in on them and there was nothing left over. Was this what it felt like to be choked to death? All of the air forced out of your body. Then your throat was restricting anymore air from reaching in and saving you. You suffocated and the only people there to hear were those that didn't care. She wondered what it would be like to die that way, to see your life flash before your eyes as someone squeezed at your throat like someone was trying to get a bit of lotion out of a nearly empty bottle. She shook her head ever so slightly, to rid herself of those terrible thoughts.
Was it the woods that manipulated her thoughts this way? Or was it truly herself speaking out? Did she really think those thoughts or were those impressions from the strange surroundings? She didn't want to divulge into it any longer. Death seemed to haunt her, but this day she was going to fight back instead of letting it take over her. She wasn't in the mood to deal with depression. The woods were too special for that, and this situation was entirely too unique and brand new to lay on the heavy stuff so soon.
Noemi shrugged her shoulders. She had no doubt that she was right. There was no supposing involved either, but Asahria was still new to being friends with the redhead. If they could even call themselves that. Noemi had no idea what they were now or what they ever would be. She wondered if she was going to take her on to this adventure and then the next day would they sit at meals together? Would they swap secrets and giggle as cute boys walked by? Or would they pass each other in the corridors without muttering a hello? Would they pretend like they never shared this day together and have it be stuck in the back of their minds, never mentioning it to a single person?
"Oh, yeah," Noemi said, recollecting her memories about all that she has heard. "I think I've been there once. Maybe. I don't know, but let's try to find it again." She put her hands on her hips and looked around her, debating which path they should take. The one on the right was more worn in, countless amount of students stomping on it. The one in the middle was so covered that they would need a machete to get through. The last on the left was decent enough, although it seemed to be a bit more on the wild side. Noemi knew which one she preferred, but she was going to leave it up to Asa to choose. "Where do you want your destiny to take you?" She said with a mischevious smile.

. .
It was hard to believe that this was all it took. She was completely uninhibited and it had taken no more than a few steps outside her closed reality for her to realize it. Something had always been missing, somewhere deep down and Asahria had felt it. All of this time she’d been contributing to her failure to please everyone around her never once had she thought that maybe, just maybe, it was herself she’d been failing all along. Somewhere along the way she had given herself over to the submission of others, forgetting that she had wishes of her own. It seemed so incredulous that such a small experience would bring such an epiphany, but somehow Asahria knew it was true. All of it was true.
Tucking her blonde hair back behind her ear, Asahria watched as Noemi moved under the shaded branches, her hair flickering dangerously in the light. While she’d never known the girl well she’d always felt slightly intimidated in her presence, though she’d never been able to place it. She was certain now that it was because Noemi did as she pleased and didn’t bow down to anyone. It was stubborn. Although stubbornness wasn’t a conviction which Asahria lacked, she knew that she had neither strength nor conviction to turn others away. The though tore inside her, she’d worked so hard to please others but what had she ever done for herself. In her stubborn tenacity for pleasing others she’d forgotten what it was to please herself. She wanted to possess Noemi’s conviction.
It made her wonder if it was the reason her and Charlton had never truly worked out. The thought was like a blow to her stomach, leaving her weak and uncertain. She’d been certain that leaving had been best - best for her mother, best for him. She’d needed her mother to accept her, to accept her hospitality but what had she gained from it. Nothing. It had left her in the same place as she’d begun. Then what had she gained in leaving without a word? Charlton had barely remembered her name; surely he’d been better off not having to worry over her existence. Even if she could fool herself for a second into thinking that she’d done this in his favor she knew she’d gone against everything she’d ever wanted. He’d been the only thing she’d wanted, but her stubborn blindness to the truth had deprived her even of that. Breathing deeply she shook her head, shrugging his memory back into some dark place. He was gone now. The best she could do was allow herself to go after what she wanted and right now the only thing she cared to do was venture into the woods, for nothing more than knowing she could.
Great. She responded quickly as Noemi acknowledged that there really was a bridge located somewhere in the dark forests. The two paused as they came to a break in the path, the trails turning away from each other. Asahria laughed slightly as Noemi spoke, asking which way Asahria wished her destiny to take her. I’ve no mind to leave anything else to destiny. She spoke, turning off to the left. The path wasn’t as worn as the other, but it held character. Besides Asahria hadn’t ventured into the forest just so they could take the beaten path. I’d much rather make a path of my own She smiled, acknowledging Noemi and pulling her finger behind her as if to say come along. You don’t really believe in such a thing as destiny do you? she asked coolly, knowing she strongly disagreed. Things never found you, nor did they come easy. If that were the case she’d not be here now, taking such a path. She’d be happily ignorant to the world around her. No, Asahria was starting to see that you truly had to go after what it was you wanted.
ooc; sorry not my best >< bleh

Noemi thought of the countless times she had been in here before, and the many more she was certain to come. She had no idea what to expect from the future, but she knew what would happened in the past. A dumb statement for her to make, but she made it nevertheless. That was what was scary about the future. Even in the next day, there was no telling what was going to happen. She had no idea if this would be the first encounter of many to come with Asahria. She had no idea if the two girls were going to end up becoming excellent friends and spend countless hours together, making up more daring adventures to embark on. She had no idea, but she did know what happened in the past.
She remembered the nights coming out here when the moon was high and bright in the sky. She thought of the boys that brought her down here to kiss underneath the canopy of the trees, where the moonlight would sneak through the branches and illuminate the ground below them. She thought of the times she would sneak off just because it seemed to call to her rather than the homework that was awaiting her in the library. She could think of so many times that she came here. Some more eventful than others, and Noemi wondered what the future would bring. Would there be one boy who brought her here and that was the one who turned out to be the love of her life? Would she never come here again because something so terrible happened? She obviously had no idea, and she liked it that way.
Knowing too much ended up taking the toll out of people. Sometimes it was better to be left in the dark, no matter how lonely and desperate it was. "What else have you left to destiny?" Noemi asked her curiously. She stepped over branches as she followed Asa down the path she chose. Noemi really had no idea where they were going. Even though she has been in here countless times, each time she felt like something was different, as if the woods changed. She wouldn't be all that surprised if the trees moved or maybe it was just her mind playing dirty tricks on her. Either way, she had no idea what to expect from this path so she was hoping that it ended up being the better one to take.
"I think there are some things that are meant to be," she said, "I know it is silly and I'm the last person who should believe in something as ridiculous as destiny, but there are some phenomenons that don't seem to make sense without explaining it with something greater than us or magic." Noemi let her fingers graze the trunks of the trees and the leaves of the bushes. She loved the feeling of the rough nature on her soft skin, there was definitely something invigorating about it. "We just took a turn for the philosophical." Noemi laughed at herself. Here they were talking about destiny when they could very well be gossiping.
