YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE YOUR EYESif ten million fireflies lit upTHE WORLD AS I FELL ASLEEP Burning beacon in the night, can’t feel it’s heat or see it’s light
Giselle sat at a table in the library, enjoying the silence that surrounded her as she thought of lyrics to write down. That particular lyric was not her own, but that of one of her favorite artists. Her notebook sat open before her, an untouched black pen in the center just waiting for some sort of magic to happen. This seemed to be happening a lot lately: she would always feel a sudden burst of inspiration but, when she sat down to write, nothing came. It was as though all the words in her mind simply froze in midair and hung there. Sometimes, all it took was a few strums on her guitar to thaw out the verses she wanted to write, but that was not the case right now. It seemed that her new cat, Mouse, (yes a cat named mouse. she had a sense of humor) had thought the strings so shiny that he decided to chew them. After one of her many explorations, she returned to her dormitory to find her guitar strings scatters about on the floor, the remnants frayed on her tan guitar she had received for her sixteenth birthday. How could she bet mad at the little kitten though? He was too darn cute…
Her thin hands slammed the book before her shut, earning her some pissed off looks from goody two shoes trying to study for whatever examination she would be missing this week. Giselle hadn’t really attended any of her classes since she came her. School simply was not her thing: it was more of an “activity” that allowed her to meet new people, cute guys and also provided a place to live. Seriously, where else was she going to go. Her home in Paris probably went to whoever her parents had left it to…Standing up from her chair, she shot her onlookers a sweet, sarcastic smile and rolled her eyes. ”Get over yourselves,” she thought to herself as she picked up her book and left the library. Perhaps all she needed was some musical inspiration and she knew exactly where to get it.
A few weeks prior, Giselle had been walking the halls when she heard the sound of a piano. Naturally, she followed it and found a large, proper auditorium complete with a black grand piano on the stage. The guitar was a wonderful instrument and was a lot more portable, but the piano had always been her first love. The way the keys felt under her fingertips, the sounds it made when they were pressed…such a beautiful instrument. Maybe that was what she needed and, luckily for her, the auditorium wasn’t too far away. The door knob felt fold beneath her hands and turned it slowly, inching herself in through the door while simultaneously checking to make sure no one was there. The place was deserted and dark, not a single light was on except a spotlight on the stage. Not wanting to mess with light switches and the like, Giselle left the spotlight alone. That was all she needed really to see the keys.
The Cossu made her way to the stage, almost tripping up the steps as she did so often. Klutz. As soon as she made it to the piano, she sat down, opened her book on the stand, and touched her fingers to the ivory keys. Smooth, cold, and magical. Softly, she began to press them, playing notes that just came to her instantaneously. The music filled the auditorium, reverberating off the walls. Giselle was going to write a song today…

It hadn't taken long for Levi to get settled into his new home since there wasn't much for him to actually do. His things had been neatly tucked away (thanks to the house elves) and it wasn't as if he had any classes to prepare for at the moment. No, it had not taken much time at all and soon he felt himself growing bored. A guy can only take so many walks around a castle before, eventually, everything became tedious and dull. Currently sat inside of his common room, he tapped a finger against his temple attempting to get back the current page in his book. "Chapter 1," he read in his mind for the sixth time, "I have just returned from a visit to my landlord..." He snapped the book shut and startled a few other people in the room. Tossing the book on to one of the black marble tables he took great strides out of the room and into the hall.
Sniffing once he raked a few fingers through his hair and smoothly walked down the many flights of steps. At least there are actually people about." Last time he'd been walking around the castle it was as if everyone had vanished into thin air, leaving him to wonder just where in the hell they'd all went. Not that he could complain too much about that day. He had met a rather charming and beautiful girl, Asahria. Yes, the day hadn't been a total waste of his time. Rubbing his chin he wondered if she was around as well. With the intent on finding her he took sharps turns and fluent steps, keeping an eye out for the blonde on his mind. Of course, finding her had been his original goal, until his thoughts were stolen by another. No longer was a certain blonde entirely occupying his mind as she'd been joined by a rather lovely brunette.
Stopping his movements he silently watched where she was walking towards and wondered on how he could best introduce himself without showing that he cared too much...not that he did. As the minutes passed the task of grabbing her attention turned into the game it was for all his targets. It was only after that came into play that he realized she'd led them to the auditorium. He'd seen the place on his first day, while exploring the castle. It contained numerous musical instruments and he'd been informed that the school chorus often practiced there. A bit of logic and common sense allowed him to reach the conclusion that she had to be a Cossu; the artistic ones apparently. His suspicions were confirmed a few minutes after when delicate piano music began to play behind the doors.
Walking up to the doors, he threw them open and loudly bustled in, ceasing all expressionist activities. "Not too shabby." he said after seating himself in one of the audience chairs. "Hello." he said, offering her his slightly crooked smile and a wink.

YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE YOUR EYESif ten million fireflies lit upTHE WORLD AS I FELL ASLEEP The musical notes filled the open auditorium and Giselle instantly felt relieved. A feeling began to well up in her chest when she realized that she could possibly accomplish something today. For so long she thought her “out” was gone forever; she was doomed to sit in stress and have no way to channel it all into music. Now here she was, her delicate fingers dancing over the ivory keys of a piano so beautiful it almost looked out of place. She almost felt a verse coming into her mind when she was thrown off by the oak doors slamming open and a boy entering in with a loud bang. The sounds the keys made as she jumped were ungodly and echoed way too loudly for her taste. She threw her hands up to her ears to protect them, throwing an annoyed look at the boy.
Not too shabby
Giselle stood up abruptly, grabbed her notebook and slamming it shut, tucking it beneath her slender arm. The boy smiled at her, one of those cute crooked ones that always made girls’ hearts flutter with excitement, and she cursed herself for feeling that stupid fluttering. Who the hell was this kid? Giselle tried her hardest to look angry at him, but she was checking him out simultaneously. Amazing build…dark hair…eyes that looked like they could penetrate into your soul. Why hadn’t she seen him before? Not that Giselle had a reputation of getting around or anything, but she knew a lot of the good looking boys here at this school and may have even had a fling with one or two of them. She was kind of on her own now, so maybe this was fate’s way of telling her she needed to get back out there and stop slacking off. There were tons of single guys at this school and, while most of them didn’t want a relationship (typical) she was okay with that. Thomas had kind of ruined her opinion on relationships for a while…she had the scars to prove it too.
She could only assume by the way he entered in he was a Sournois, a tad bit stereotypical, perhaps, but why else would she have never seen him? Unless he was a lot newer that she was; if that was the case, then she needed to get to know this kid right away, it seemed. She had her fair share of dorm parties in the Sournois Common Room. This kid looked like he could party, but she’d never seen him. He has to be new.
”Yes, well thank you. But I think I’m done now. I’ve been here a while, so I should get going,”
she lied, shuffling off the stage and realizing she had to walk past him to leave. He so arrogantly chose to sit in one of the auditorium chairs, which put a little damper on what was supposed to be a dramatic exit. Giselle found herself wanting to stay a little, find out the guy’s name and what have you, but she didn’t want to seem too desperate. No, if he was interested, he would stop her from leaving. The brunette rushed down the aisle, but found herself slowing down at she approached the doors. ”Come on, hot stuff. Stop me,” she thought. Chuckling darkly he watched as she scrambled to collect herself as well as her things. Obviously, he hadn't meant to have disturbed her and in doing had angered the girl. Good. It was also nice to see a little attitude from a girl which is what he got from how she look at him. If looks could kill...he wasn't entirely sure if he'd be dead or shirtless. Possibly both. As flustered as she was, there was no way he was letting her leave without at least learning her name and he could tell by the way she took her time getting off the stage that she wanted to tell him. It wasn't that she was obvious about it, it was that he'd had so much practice with previous girls. "It's never nice to give one such dirty looks." he told her, slouching in his seat.
As she walked towards and past him Levi took this time to study her features better than before. There was no doubt that she was beautiful in fact he was sure with such beauty she undoubtedly had a fair share of practice dating herself. He was sure no guy would able to resist her charms. Levi was nothing like that though, he wouldn't chase a girl. No, they usually came to him if he charmed them enough. ”Yes, well thank you. But I think I’m done now. I’ve been here a while, so I should get going." Kicking his feet up he shook his head. "Impossible," he said simply, "If I'm not mistaken you entered here not long before myself. Barely ten minutes I would say." It was only right for her to rush out as she was. He had rather rudely interrupted what sounded like it would be a promising piece. "In fact you had just begun to get into it when I walked in. Very nice, a little flat on some parts, but otherwise it was...nice." He flashed her another grin to go with his compliment.
He didn't know what his plan was to be honest but he could feel her slow down as she walked. "A pity you must go though since I was enjoying it quite a bit." Leaning back he craned his neck back and looked up at the ceiling, studying the intricate detailing. Let her wait he thought. If she truly wanted him to introduce himself properly he was half certain she would wait, perhaps come back. Then again, you never knew what girls would do; such unpredictable creatures really. "Well, if one must go, one must go. But for any future moments we may share together, I am Levi Ashford." He casually waved over his shoulder before closing his eyes.
There was no rush for him. If it came down to her actually leaving he would of course follow her. After all he had come in here with the intent of getting to know the girl and his wasted search time would not go to waste. "Oh and you are?" he inquired, turning slightly to look at her.

YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE YOUR EYESif ten million fireflies lit upTHE WORLD AS I FELL ASLEEP Impossible. If I'm not mistaken you entered here not long before myself. Barely ten minutes I would say. In fact you had just begun to get into it when I walked in. Very nice, a little flat on some parts, but otherwise it was...nice.
Giselle felt her feet slow to a stop as she heard his comment. Flat? Flat? You’re an ass, she thought as she slowly turned to face him. Her family had spent way too much money and sending Giselle to one of the best musical schools in Paris to have her playing insulted like that. Of course, by the arrogant look on that perfectly chiseled face of his, a part of Giselle couldn’t help but wonder if this was all apart of his “game”. All guys, especially guys like this fellow had a “game” they liked to play, each involving such a well thought out technique that, if it failed, would either backfire or make girls even more intrigued. The “game” was something that she was not interested in playing anymore, and yet she still found herself standing there, frozen in front of the doors. Giselle wanted to play this game with this guy.
The poor critique of her music was not the only thing that stood out to her. More so, a small smile formed on her delicate facial features as she thought about his following her. This guy, who clearly had to have had his own fair share of girls fawning over him and, possibly, engaged in multiple physical type relationships in a week (or a day. Who knew really?), followed her into this auditorium. Hmm…either he was desperate for company or he clearly found something interesting about her. ”So let me get this straight?
she began, walking closer to him and entering the aisle he was seated in. The closer she got, the more she could tell how good-looking he was. Hmm, this could probably be interesting. Honestly, how could she leave now? She hadn’t been in the company of such a good-looking lad in a very long time. ”You stalked me here, insult my playing, and then try to be all flirtatious and what not? Giselle’s brown eyes stared into his, and she let out a laugh. ”You’re definitely not going to get girls that way.” And yet, Giselle still stood there, completely mesmerized by a guy she had just met. Maybe it was more of the mystery of this random guy she had never met that pulled her in but, in an event, Giselle didn’t think she was going to be leaving this auditorium anytime soon. Well, if one must go, one must go. But for any future moments we may share together, I am Levi Ashford. Oh and you are? Levi Ashford. Hmm, she would not forget that name. ”Oh, I won’t be leaving. I find you quite interesting, Levi,” she purred, sitting beside him and placing her notebook onto the floor. Giselle Mitchell. And it’s very nice to meet you.” Giselle crossed her legs and turned her body towards him. After all, attraction was in the body language. ”Now tell me, Levi. Why were you stalking me?” [/blockquote][/blockquote] - - - - - - - - - - status: COMPLETEtagged: LEVIwords: 528!outfit: DENIM TSHIRT FTW.notes: not weird! it adds to the allure of this mystery guy (;lyrics: FIREFLIES, OWL CITYcredit: TEMPLATE BY SHAZI ?! Grinning, he could tell he'd hit a nerve with his comment. Strong points were always the best weaknesses to Levi. They offered him a sure-fire way to rile a person up which is what he'd done in her case. Slowly she walked towards him, sputtering out a couple of sentences. Stalking? Hardly. Flirting? Barely. Smoothing out his jacket and pants he kept he once again closed his eyes knowing by the change in pressure near his left arm that she'd taken a seat next to him. This girl was very close in more ways than one and he knew that she wouldn't be hard nor would she be easy to get to know. Interesting.
”So let me get this straight. You stalked me here, insult my playing, and then try to be all flirtatious and what not? You’re definitely not going to get girls that way.”
"My dear girl, whatever delusions you may have are incorrect. I was not stalking you at all. In fact..." he trailed off and opened his eyes to look at her. "I was looking for another girl entirely and had at first mistaken her for you." It was a lie, but she didn't know that. "I only stayed to enjoy the music but you had stopped when I entered." He smirked in her direction, taking note of her name. "Giselle." he said finally. "Further more, I hardly call any of what I have said flirting. I do believe you are getting ahead of yourself love." Winking at her once, he placed his hands behind his head and tilted his head back.
The girl, Giselle, wasn't a fool. She had possibly done this type of thing before, which was nice. Honestly he didn't find too many girls that knew what they were doing and it was a nice weight lifted off his shoulders. Plus, it was refreshing to see one not pull the innocent act. It got very boring and tiresome after a while. No, she knew what to do and what to say. Perhaps she showed a little too much eagerness with the way she moved and approached him, and she definitely showed a lot of interest in him. Of course. "Oh, and I did not insult your playing. I merely offered my bit of critiquing. You must know that it is seen as something helpful." So he lied again but once more, she didn't know that. "It's very nice to meet you as well, Miss Mitchell."

YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE YOUR EYESif ten million fireflies lit upTHE WORLD AS I FELL ASLEEP My dear girl, whatever delusions you may have are incorrect. I was not stalking you at all. In fact I was looking for another girl entirely and had at first mistaken her for you. I only stayed to enjoy the music but you had stopped when I entered. Further more, I hardly call any of what I have said flirting. I do believe you are getting ahead of yourself love.
Delusional? Giselle would call herself a lot of things but “delusional” was not one of them. Giselle leaned back in her seat, folding her hands in her lap and letting out a sigh. ”Certainly, hearing that was a great disappointment. I suppose I’m just wasting my time by sitting here with you, then. I was so very much looking forward to the company,”
she replied to his comments with her brown eyes staring at the stage. This was definitely a part of his game. Seriously, there was no way in hell he could expect her to believe that he had stayed to enjoy the music he had just called flat. Boys like him could be found on all our corners of this castle. His type was just a little bit harder to get through, to truly understand. He seemed an expert at this “playing hard to get” thing, a act Giselle had perfected long after her relationship with Thomas had been over and done with. Instinctively, Giselle ran her fingers over a scar she had on her left arm. Playing hard to get was the only way she could protect herself from getting hurt. Her trust in men hadn’t yet been restored and she was not sure if it was ever going to. Maybe this sort of casual relationship she had going with a few of the boys here at the school was all she would ever be able to handle...all her mind would ever be able to handle. Oh, and I did not insult your playing. I merely offered my bit of critiquing. You must know that it was seen as something helpful. And it’s very nice to meet you as well, Miss Mitchell. Giselle nodded her brunette head, turning her chocolate brown eyes to the boy sitting beside her. ”Well thank you for the advice. Now I know that I must simply practice some more so that my music is not, as you said flat” she drawled, sitting up in her seat and grabbing her notebook. ”I’m very sorry that I was not the girl you were looking for. I certainly hope you find her soon.” She stood up from her seat and shuffled away, making her way back to the stage to grand piano that sat atop it. This was a part of her game, to see if he was really going to stay or if he was going to go and find the girl he had “supposedly” mistaken her for. If he stayed, it meant he was interested in some way. If he left, well he was just a waste of her time, now wasn’t he? She made her way to the stage, her eyes locking with his for a moment before she sat in front of the piano once more. ”Excuse me, but I must amp up my practicing.” She touched her delicate fingers to the ivory keys and began to play a soft, lullaby-sounding tune. From what she could see out of the corner of her eye, Levi still sat in his seat. Creasing his forehead in faux concern, he studied her features closely. Her eyes were not on him but upon the stage, probably eyeing the piano he had pried her from. It made sense that she so quickly stopped what she had been doing, so eager to not escape his presence. If Levi guessed correctly, she had not had the pleasure of meeting someone so suave such as himself. The idea caused a smirk to prick the corners of his lips.
"Certainly, hearing that was a great disappointment. I suppose I’m just wasting my time by sitting here with you, then. I was so very much looking forward to the company,"
So quick to leave. He wasn't giving up so easily and surely she wasn't either. This girl was too smart, too knowledgeable in the ways of the dating game. She was no expert but she wasn't any type of fool either. Levi sucked in a deep breath, kicking his feet up once more. "By all means, I implore you to stay and keep me company," he told her, linking his hands together, "The day is still young. I have plenty of time to seek my original company."
As far as he could tell though, he'd insulted her deeply by his comment on her playing. This suspicion was confirmed by her quick and sudden dismissal. "Well thank you for the advice. Now I know that I must simply practice some more so that my music is not, as you said flat." he watched her stand up, mutter something about needing her practice as well as an apology for not finding his intended company. She knew perfectly well that he had no desire to leave her so quickly, that Levi wanted to know more about her other than her name. Oh yes, she knew how to play the game the cheeky little minx.
Standing up he followed her onto the stage, sitting next to her on the cushioned piano bench. He watched her play for a few minutes before placing his own fingers on the ivory keys. Matching her notes, Levi caught onto the tune fairly quickly, closing his eyes as the music cascaded against the stone walls. A perk that came with having such a stage-loving mother was all the many people he'd grown up to know; from piano teachers to cello enthusiasts Levi was quite adapt in most musical instruments. However he chose to only play them in his free time and he would rarely call any of it a hobby. No, it was merely as luxury that he rarely indulged in the presence of anyone other than his sister or ex-step-father.
"In case you haven't figured it out, I'm not sorry that I haven't found her at all." He told her, eyes remaining closed and a smirk plastered on his features.

YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE YOUR EYESif ten million fireflies lit upTHE WORLD AS I FELL ASLEEP By all means, I implore you to stay and keep me company. The day is still young. I have plenty of time to seek my original company
As far as Giselle was concerned, she fully intended on keeping him company. It was up to him to show her whether or not he chose to do the same. If he left, she would follow him because, now that she had been lured in, she wasn’t going to let him leave and go find that other girl. No no no, Levi was hers now as far she was concerned. This kid was hot and he knew how to play this game, which attracted her to him even more. He also knew how to frustrate her, which made her not want to leave even more. He acted so careless, like he really didn’t care if she left or stayed. Ugh, she hated guys like him yet she found them so irresistible too. Stupid Levi.
”Well, I’m glad you still have time to find her, but I still must practice. After all, that was the reason why I came here in the first place. Until you came along and interrupted me, that is,”
she told him, as she stood and smoothed out her outfit. She flipped her hair from her shoulder and turned to him. ”It’s fine. You can stay if you want to. I’ll be up there,” she told him, pointing to the stage and leaving their row of seats to head back to the stage. She could act like she didn’t care whether he stayed or went too. A part of her felt like the look on his face showed he wanted to stay. It was just a matter of whether or not she was right and she truly was interested in Giselle, even if it was only a little bit. As her fingers danced across the keys, she heard footsteps on the stage and looking over for a moment to find Levi making his way towards her. Ha, so he couldn’t resist. He sat down beside her on the bench and Giselle smiled to herself. She was caught off guard when his own fingers touched the keys and he began to match her tune. She looked at him as his eyes shut and played the song, the sound of the notes filling the auditorium with a sound more beautiful than she could have made playing the song on her own. So he was musical…that was why he felt the need to critique her playing. People like them always found reasons to put other people’s skills down; they always had to be the best. In case you haven’t figured it out, I’m not sorry that I haven’t found her at all. His smirk made her smile, but he couldn’t see it since his eyes were closed. ”Yeah, I think I got it,” she replied, as she slowed the song to an end. As the final note hung in the air, she turned towards him, placing her hands in her lap and nervously twiddling her thumbs. ”So you play. Tell me whatever else there is to know about you, Levi Ashford,” she told him. Yeah, she was really interested now. Hot and musical. To say he was her perfect guy was an understatement. He'd succeeded in shocking her as the song ended and silence pressed against their eardrums. He was also right in saying that she'd been a little flat. Pulling the quill from it spot on top of the piano, he scratched out a few notes and scribbled in his adjustments. He nodded as she asked of his playing abilities, not turning to look at her. "Yes," was all his said and tossed the quill back down. It picked itself up and floated back into the inkpot. "I don't know how much there is to know Mitchell." Levi wasn't too keen on getting too close to this girl especially since he'd never really let it happen nor did he want to. Sure she was gorgeous and he found himself interested in her so far but if his plans worked out right they'd only go as far as a physical relationship. Rubbing his chin he wondered if this was one of the chicks that required feelings to be apart of the deal.
Standing up Levi moved himself around the width of the piano hoping to put a bit of distance between them. Levi didn't hesitate but his plans usually took some, well, planning. He liked time, time was on his side when it came to ladies. If it wasn't then he just didn't bother, after all there were plenty of fish in the sea, pond, ocean. Whatever. "You've learned my name," he said after a few moments, "and you know I enjoy playing the piano. With those two things I'd say you've learned quite a bit about me and faster than most people usually do."This was actually true, most girls enjoyed talking about themselves so he found it fairly easy to divulge nothing about himself. Obviously there were a few that were never satisfied with knowing nothing, like Giselle. Alright, so she was necessarily prodding him for much but it irritated him slightly for no reason.
"What about you Mitchell? You play the piano, you have a very quick wit, which I like, and you are obviously no novice." In what, he didn't say but Levi got the feeling she understood. "Add in your beauty and I would say I've got quite the lady on my hands." He offered her another smirk, leaning against the instrument between them.
