"What a beautiful day," Tinley thought as she twirled about. Spring was fast approaching and already showing small signs of its incoming arrival. The snow from the previous week had melted and the sun shined brightly around the whole castle. The tree overhead were still bare but didn't seem as lonely and solemn as they did before. While winter was beautiful and she did love it there would be no mistaking how much she was glad the cold air was fading. A semi-warm breeze made her sigh with content rather than shiver and swear under her breath. Hopping a little she wondered what others were up to. Probably preparing themselves for the upcoming romantic festivities. Another reason why she was extremely excited for the slightly warm weathered months: she actually had a valentine this year.
"I feel on top of the world!" she shouted, jumping onto one of the ledges. She was so excited that soon she couldn't help but break out in a dance. Not a waltz, not the tango, and definitely not anything near the sultry moves of the salsa. Just a dance. Sorta of like the Can-can with cart wheels and jazz hands all thrown in together; the right dance to make her look clinically insane. Spring fever, she was sure it was called that. That's what she had...without all the desires. No that would be awkward if she went around having the hots for everyone in sight. Nope, she had that for just the one guy. "What an embarrassing conversation to have with myself." she said aloud, feeling her face grow warm.
It wasn't as if she was ashamed of it, but what if someone overheard her. It wasn't an uncommon thing in the wizarding world. Not when so many people had the power of mind reading. Not that a lot would use it to their advantage but a person never knew. Hopping from one part of the wall to the next Tinley wondered what she should do since she obviously couldn't think for her fear of having her thoughts overheard was just too great.

, just figuring out how we were wired inside PERFECT WEATHER TO FLY
Spring had made its way to France. It had snuck over the gentle hills, and around unsuspecting persons, to arrive at the Academy, and to coax an unwilling smile from the blonde student. Spring seemed like the beginning. A new chapter, as it were. Winter had thawed and so had she. She’d spent so many months frozen within herself, but as the weather warmed, so had her disposition, and Scarlett began to feel like her old self – like the person who had departed from those hallowed halls all those years ago. She found herself smiling more than she used to, and for that she was thankful. She was thankful to those who had coaxed those grins from her lips, and the laughs, which were as spontaneous as those who had caused them. She wouldn’t have been herself again, if it were not for those people. But she did wonder, and there was a certain guilt within herself at the thought of how her family was coping; how although she may have found solace within the academy and her friends, she worried about her brother, and her father, but surely they could cope? They were strong, and for a long time, she thought that they were stronger than her, but in the wake of her mother’s death, she had stood tall as they crumbled at her side, and it was as if she had become this beacon, something for which they could lean upon, for them to become stronger. So, was it not time for her to wane, and for them to stand high? She considered this as she strolled about the halls, not heading in any particular direction, but just walking, heels clicking as she stepped. With her bag clutched under her arm, where a newspaper or book would usually be found and her trench coat tied securely at her waist, emphasising the curvature of her hips.
It was when she was strolling through the halls, her thoughts fixated upon her family, that she heard a curious noise, and it sounds quite familiar, too familiar. Not even pausing at the realisation that the aforementioned noise had erupted from the so called ‘forbidden corridor’, her steps were even as she removed the clutch bag from under her arm and instead held it with a firm grasp in her hand, the bright blue contrasting with a soft beige of her coat. Spring had indeed arrived, but there was still that gentle chill within the walls that made her retreat back into her dormitory to retrieve her coat, before leaving once again. A flash of red hair and an exuberant dance, and Scarlett paused mid step, her smile, which she didn’t even realise was there, grew widely as she witnessed her friend put on a rather enthusiastic show, on which was undoubtedly not meant to be seen by anyone else. So instead of applauding, or even mentioning the show, the blonde waited for a few moments before calling out to address the familiar redhead. “Tinley!” she called as she rushed forward to meet her, her steps shorter but quicker than they had been, allowing her to reach her friend a great deal faster. As was custom with her friends, upon meeting, they almost always received a hug, it was just Scarlett’s way of reacquainting herself with them, and besides, she had always been a big fan of affection between friends, as well as the general thought that everyone should have at least one hug a day. It was a silly philosophy to have, but it made her smile with contentment. Her arms parted so that she could hug her dear friend, holding her close before releasing her grasp, and smiling widely. “How are you sweetheart? I feel like I haven’t seen you for ages! Although it’s probably only been a day or so” she told her with a laugh, before linking her arm through hers and leading them down the corridor; forbidden or not, they were still going to walk around. “I’ve just been walking around today, and then I saw you, and I thought, why not continue my wanderings with Tintin? That is, if you want to walk around with me?” she added, smiling widely at her friend.

As she continued to shake what her mama gave her, it came as no surprise that students began to pour from inside the castle, inhibiting the hall. The lounges were in the perfect spot; they got tons of light from outsides, window to open and close as they pleased and you could only slightly hear the hustle and bustle of people passing. It was a place she never grew tired of. Hopping down from the low wall the curved around the area Tinley wiggled her way down the hall only to be stopped by a familiar voice. Literally jumping to turn around, her mouth turned up into a large smile. "Scarlett!" she shouted, waving furiously into the air. The blonde quickly caught up and enveloped her in hug. It was like they hadn't seen each other for ages, which wasn't at all true but it felt like it. Scarlett, her newly acquired bestie, echoed her very thoughts but this time Tinley wasn't surprised. It was as if they'd known each other forever and reading each others mind wasn't that much of coincidence. "I am feeling fabulous!" she replied, throwing her hands into air. "How are you darling?"
"I was just thinking that. You've read my mind, scar." As she explained her need for a walk, Tinley smiled and nodded. "I would love to join you for a walk scarbar." Bumping their shoulders together. "So, how has life been treating you this fine day? You're looking smart today, all dolled up for someone?" she teased her; it was the month of romance of course and most girls had been going all out with their wardrobes. They emerged from the corridor and walked down the hall with the rest of the students until their path lead them outside. It seemed warmer than it had before but she guessed it was because they were now bathed in sunlight. It looked brilliant outside, the trees swaying peacefully in the breeze. It was an actual breeze as well, not the strong bursts of wind they'd been experiencing lately. "I can tell spring will be here soon, oh it'll be so lovely."
They didn't walk too far from their previous spot as they mostly just zig zagged in and around the area. Even though they were only walking, it was easy to have fun when around Scarlett. Never a dull moment to be had. "Ok, so word has gone around and, not that I believe everything I hear, how has Lucien been?" Ok, so nothing was official but with how things happened there, it was bound to come something. Not that she was going to push it. Too much. Tinley offered her a wide grin letting her know that she was only asking out of fun. Just in case.
