Soft tendrils of milky light caressed the broken terrain, casting heavy shadows with every shifting motion. Meera's delicate fingers moved to train her strawberry locks behind her ear, determined to keep the thin veil from obscuring her vision. The night was dark, each object merely a sillouette undistinguished and lacking dimension. Her gentle blue eyes were intent on the pathway before her, scouting the ground in which she mauevered, being careful that she didn't surrender her barefeet to a sharp twig or knarled root. Her shoes, a pair of sandals, hung uselessly in her careful grip. She had forsaken them so she could in return feel the cool earth against her flesh, something she had always found far more exhilertaing than the textured plastic of one's shoes.
It was well past curfew, this she was well aware of, but she had been intrigued earlier that day by a passing conversaion. That of a bridge, hidden somewhere within the enchanted woods. The idea of such a thing enthralled her, her curiosity once more leading her on what could have very well been a wild goose chase. She had woken from her slumber earlier in the night and had had little luck falling back into the trance of sleep. The dark room had done nothing but let her thoughts wander, letting her curiosity further pull her. So she had slipped from her bed and wandered quitely through the corridors, being careful not to get caught as she made her way to the woods.
So now she was here, wandering aimlessly through the woods, chasing after some wisp of a story. The cover of trees, was slowly dissapating the light of the moon, making the way harder to manuever. She let out s sharp gasp, wincing in pain as she tangled her feet in a web of roots. Setting her shoes down on the ground beside her, Meera pulled her wand from the back pocket of her jeans, illuminating the general space in which she occupied. Biting her lip, she pulled her ankle from the weave of roots and massaged it gently with her fingers, trying to rid it from the dull throbbing pain which had come from her mishap.
After minutes of deliberation, she decided to continue on, wand held tightly in one hand in order to make the trek more manueverable. Her way was slower now, with the slight pain in her ankle, but she was determined by all means to find this bridge. It hadn't been the smartest decision to search it out so late she knew, but at the time the idea has sounded good. She wasn't about to give up now that she was already out here stumbling around in the woods. Letting a sigh escape her lips, she flipped the length of her hair over her shoulder, paying no more attention to where she was going than to make sure she wouldn't fall yet again.
It seemed like she had been wandering forever. She had been nearly on the verge of giving up when she stumbled across a dry creekbed. She did recall that they had said the water had dried from under the bridge. So Meera found her way to the middle of the creekbed, following it's slightly winding path. A small smile crossed her lips as the dim silhouette of a bridge came into view. So she hadn't wasted her night looking for something that wasn't there. As she reached the bridge she climbed from the creek bed and slowly crossed onto the bridge. It was old, she could tell by the way it creaked underfoot, but beautiful none the less. Trees didn't cover the expanse above the bridge, so she lay her belongings down on the ground, taking a place beside them. Her hair lay sprawled out around her as she let her breathing settle, her eyes set on the silver pools glistening in the dark night sky.

The young Cossu had easily sauntered from the depths of the blistering commons found within the tower. Since he had been a first year he had made it his mission to get on the good side of the authority. Whether it was his own time as a school prefect or his inherent charm, he effortlessly exceeded his quest. It was not hard to sneak out when the ones in charge of that keeping you in were your cousin and her friend.
This particular evening Mathew was donned in a faded baby blue Beauxbatons tshirt, a casual navy blazer and a pair of “vintage” jeans. His attire had recently become more diversified. His typical pair of grubby sweatpants and matching Quidditch sweatshirts had been replaced by a more mature tailored look. Mattie’s short athletic hair had grown into undeniably suave long locks. His white trainers padded along the path to his secretive meeting place. His grin flittered when his heterochromic eyes scanned the horizon for the location in question. Mathew’s plan was to remain out of sight for the meanwhile. It was his secret pleasure to watch them fuss and squirm awaiting his arrival.
Mathew leaned his muscular torso against a knotted chestnut tree. His bulky arms hooked in between two low twisted branches. His guest would arrive at any moment and he knew just exactly what type of trouble he wanted to get into this evening. His ears caught a pattering echo off in the distance and he straightened himself up to estimate the distance until they would reach the rickety bridge. She had taken the bait.
His mix-matched eyes settled on the approaching figure. Shoeless, petite, and unexpecting - just how he liked his prey. A crooked smile danced at the corners of his cupid bow lips. Mathew had set the bait and now all that was left was to snap the trap. This night was going to go more smoothly than he could have ever hoped it to go.
”You know you are going to poke someone’s’ eye out with that” he rang coolly to his new company. The young Cossu remained propped up against a vast softwood tree coated thickly in a green peat moss. ”I think it is past your bedtime.” Mattie hissed playfully. His skeptical eyebrow raised in question at the young woman. His eyes peered up and down her thin frame. It was only upon closer inspection that he had noticed it was not his predetermined target that had arrived at the bridge.
She might be different than who he had first expected, none the less, this was going to be exactly the night he had expecte. Over the years attending school he had become quite good at gauging students. Mathew had this girl all figured out in his head. First year. Adventurous. Trying to sneak out, pretty damn good at it. Not to shabby in the looks department. Worth a shot.

Meera lowered her lids, screening her eyes from the silvery pools of light peeking through the remaining foliation. Her hair lay strewn around her, her coppery curls shimmering in the soft light of her wand. Her lips were pursed tightly as she hummed the smooth rhythm to one of her newest creations. The melody had long since been discovered, it was the lyrics that were causing her hassle. She had lost her muse, and was having trouble gaining it back. She’d been wanting to finish the piece, but had been lacking proper motivation to do so. Despite the rough earth beneath her, Meera felt quite comfortable sprawled out on the forest floor as she was - back flat on bridge, her head propped up on her arms. Her legs were crossed at the ankles, one foot bouncing in time to the beat, of the soft music, to which she was humming. The sounds of the forest were audible over her quiet voice, the rustling of leaves and the rush of wind mazing its way through the tree trunks. It seemed as though overhearing the conversation earlier had brought her a sense of peace.
She liked the thick scent of forest, the damp earth and pine, it was alluring like no other scent. She scrunched up the features of her face slightly as a stray leaf tickled across her nose. With a faint itch lingering, Meera leaned up on an elbow, using the back of her palm to rub her nose, breathing in relief when they sensation suddenly fled. Her humming had come to an abrupt halt at the sudden interruption and Meera could now hear a new sound in the forest. The sound was distant, but sounded like footsteps, with the snapping of twigs and crunching of dried leaves. The new noise caused her to open her eyes, icy blue gaze cautious. She wasn't really supposed to be in the forest, it wasn't necessarily safe and it was long after hours. There were creatures with untold powers in here, she didn't want to be running into one in a bad temperament. She just liked being here to take in the beauty, particularly in season, when they trees were ornamented as they were. Inhaling deeply, she sat up, not bothering to brush the leaves from her hair.
Feeling suddenly chilled by late winter air, Meera wrapped her arms close around her middle, her eyes intent on the forest where she could hear the approaching steps. She couldn't decipher what she should do. It was dark outside and here in the trees it was shaded, making vision even more questionable. She had her wand if she came upon something less than agreeable and she would compromise her trouble free streak for her safety if need be. With one hand gripping her wand, she stood up, shaking her head to clear her face of her coppery strands. Moving quietly as she could, Meera stepped back behind a tree, its girth large enough to keep her well hidden from the on comers view. She pressed her palms against the bark, feeling comfortable, with the rough wood against her hands. It was a solid support system, she felt safe behind the tree. At least here she was not exposed as she had been, lain across the forest floor.
Meera kept her wand at the ready, opting to keep her place, instead of peeking around the tree. She could hear the steps, they were closer, considerably closer, probably within range if sight. It made her nervous, but strangely eager at the same time. Her fingers curled tightly around her wand as she edged around the tree, keeping close against the sturdy frame. Her peripheral vision caught movement and she inhaled deeply, as she spun around to get a better look. Wand held upright she stepped from behind the tree, bare feet soft against the earth, her lips pursed tightly as she stepped into direct view of the person.
The male had taken his station up against a nearby tree and she knew that it was a face she did not recognize. Though he was handsome enough. ”You know you are going to poke someone’s’ eye out with that.” His sudden speech had her convinced that he had no intention of harming her, though it seemed sarcastic in intent.Looking to the ground, she quickly moved out of her defensive stance pocketing her wand. Her hands moved quickly to her hair, which was moussed and threaded with bits of leaves. She was a mess. It was too late to hide now, that he had actually come upon her. ”I think it is past your bedtime.”. She smiled, albeit a bit awkwardly as she tried not to scoff at the male’s statement. And who are you to tell me when my bedtime is? She admonished, dropping her wand in case he be right, she wasn’t intending on using it after all. Besides, if you choose to be technical about it. I believe yours is well overdue. She said, cocking her head to the side, she was sure he was a student, much like herself – even if she did not recognize him.
Had you come up on me any quicker I might have been forced to spell you. She teased the stranger quickly gaining her composure. I do believe you caught me at my most unsightly she smiled, trying to comb the leaves from her hair, though she knew she was doing a poor job of it.

He watched her fidget and squirm only for a moment before speaking. His voice deep and menacing yet, there was something childish about the way he spoke. His French accent muddled his words together to form one flowing mass of words. ”You see little girl” he jeered at her ”The difference between you and I is that I have taken the liberty of giving myself permission to trollop out after curfew.” Mathew’s hands spoke as he spoke, his masculine appendage landing on his sternum for effect. He expelled himself off of the peat coated tree towards the aberrant maiden. He straightened his pale azure jacket and gave the newbie the award winning crooked grin that he was known for
A single quizzical chestnut eyebrow elevated at the first year. What in Maxime’s Biggest Bra had he walked into? This girl seemed slightly spastic and he was not sure if that was what was alluring him towards her. His steps only drew him closer to the figure who was now visible in the glimmering moon light. The gentleman linked his hulking hands behind his back and present her with a subtle bow in a quasi greeting. ”Mathew Amherst,” he paused a moment ”If you have not already figured that one out for yourself.”
The girl before him seemed capable and proficient however, what was hard to gauge was her connection to the social circles around the academy. It was a very brutal system and one had to know the ins and the outs in order to survive it. Despite most of the students being rather friendly in first glances, this was not the true case. They were sneaky and diabolical. They had plans and disloyal diplomacy. Everyone had a strategy. It was either go with the current or ‘go swimming with the fishes’. It was a dog eat dog world in this place. It was a synthetic, manufactured, presumptuous niceness. It was a plastic, plastic world out there.
On the other hand, it was impossible not to know his name. He was notorious and not always in the most pleasant of ways. Mattie had made his fair share of boyfriend angry and first years faint. He had become quite good at debonair-ing his way out of most calamitous of circumstances. He was catastrophic news the moment he stepped back on campus grounds after his little ’leave of absence’.
Once he reached her closely, he began to circle around her almost as if inspecting his loot. Or worse. Like a vulture circling his victim. He plucked a single piece of dried leaf from her tresses and blew it out of his fingers before shaking his pointed index finger slowly at his new company. ”However,” he began his journey around her again ”You my dear, in all your leafy goodness, are a mystery to me…” He trailed off before stopping and turning on the heels of his trainers.
”So Nancy Drew, be a dear and solve the case of the mysterious new student?” he pried playfully. It was always satisfying and amusing to have fresh meat instead of the same old playthings.
The Cossu peered to the path leading up to the bridge to search for any approaching figures. It appeared that his guest of honor had wised up or else someone had alerted her of his devious ways. It was safe to assume that no one would be sneaking up on them now. This was the perfect plan b.

”You see little girl. The difference between you and I is that I have taken the liberty of giving myself permission to trollop out after curfew.” The emphasis on the word struck a nerve in her. While she might consider herself fun loving, that didn’t mean she would so easily back down. Rolling her eyes as she spoke, she let her arms cross across her stomach, a foot aping impatiently as she waited for him to finish. Even though his admission had ruffled her, she couldn’t help but be drawn by the deep allure of his voice, which somehow fitted his rough exterior. If rough was indeed the right word. His face was framed by his dark hair, contrasting starkly against the handsome features of his face. He looked eerily familiar, though she couldn’t place the face with a name. He looked older so it wasn’t likely that they shared any classes. For the life of her Meera couldn’t place his face. Her curious eyes followed his every move as he emphasized his words, stepping away from the tree and closing the distance between them.
I’m not so sure little is the term you are looking for for. She smiled, mirroring the crooked grin which had molded his lips. While she was new the school, she was not young by any means; she’d transferred after a long stay at Hogwarts after all. Besides her attitude could make up for what she lacked in physical stature. If you’ve the right to extend the rules for yourself, I’m sure it would do you no harm to allow me this one favor. She smiled sweetly, knowing that he would not send her back to the palace. In fact she was sure of it, something told her he was curious. She managed a step back as he came closer, her wand was still tucked in the crook of her arm, but it was an easy draw should she find she needed it. Though she didn’t think that was likely, she doubted the male would seek to cause her any harm. As he stepped from beneath the boughs of the tree, the moonlight cascaded around him, washing his features in a soft, milky light. He was attractive, she would give him that. She stifled a laugh as he placed his arms behind his back and offered her a plaintive bow. So he was a charmer as well.
Oh,of course She said coyly. I knew that I recognized that face. I simply couldn’t place it. Now that he had said it aloud it seemed so simple. A prefect of her own house at that. She laughed at the very notion of it, knowing that such an acknowledgement would have driven her mad. He of course had expected her to know him, but she had taken that small pleasure from him. She could see it etched in the features of his face, he was well known and he knew it. It was likely interesting to him that she had not been able to find a name to match his features. She was the singular one who could deny him that satisfaction. She did not often take part in social gossip. It meant little to her though it was often flooded with her name. Meera had grown used to being called a tease, but it didn’t cause her any grief. She was who she was, everyone else call it what they may.
Meera let her hands drop to her sides as he approached, slowly circling her. While impervious to his gaze she felt vulnerable under her scrutiny. It was clear that he did not know her. Everyone likes a good mystery. She said, stepping towards him, only mere steps from where he stood. She felt a blush creep to her cheeks at his mention of her ‘leafy goodness’ he truly had caught her at her most unsightly. It wasn’t as though this was out of the norm though, she was comfortable despite his presence. What kind of mystery would I be if I so willingly gave you the answer you were looking for. She asked, raising a speculative brow, as he pulled a dry leaf from the lengths of her hair. I must say, I’d be a rather boring one. So tell me detective, how do you plan to find out?

Mathew shook his head disapprovingly at the girl, which was accompanied by the clicking of his tongue. tsk tsk tsk ”Now if I let you go off and be on your lonely in strange woods at night, what will people think?” He could not have people going around spreading rumors that he had turned soft and he most definitely could not be to blame for the disappearance of said first year. ”They might wonder what you had to do to get away with breaking curfew. I’m only doing this for the protection of your reputation in mind” Deep down Mathew was kind and this dazzling opaque evening made him feel generous. He had clean crisp air in his lungs and the tepid temperature was causing a feeling of joy to wash over her.
”You see, even being here with me at the bridge… Gosh if someone saw you here with me…Well let us just say your ears would be ringing relentlessly” The young Cossu seemed unable to finish a complete thought. This rambling continued on, ”you see, my dear, I am a awful, awful person. A very naughty boy. Wouldn’t want to meet me in a dark unpopulated area, that’s for sure” He winked playfully at his company. On any other night than tonight he would have taken advantage of his discovery of the young Cossu girl. She was very lucky to have caught him in a friendly disposition.
It only took a moment for the look of understanding and the light bulb to appear over her head. It was endearing to see that switch in her mind flick on. It took no more than a second to make his own little epiphany. It occurred to him that she still thought he was a Prefect. What a laugh! Mattie’s position had been revoked when he used his authority to break and bend the rules to his and his partners in crime’s liking. During that period he played more than his fair share of hijinks on other students and then on professors. He had even played a terrible prank on Madame that resulted in his immediate removal of all ranks and powers. Mathew did come to regret his decision and realized that it was not truly one of his finest moments as he suspected it to be.
How would he discover her name and her info? Most importantly, how would he discover her relationship status? The second question was easier than the first. She was single. It was obvious that she was a singleton, just like Mattie. Over the years that girls had no longer become icky he had known exactly how to tell if a girl was taken. They were typically more reserved and they would definitely not sit around to talk to Mathew. They would hightail it out of their if they cared about their boy friend in the least bit. ”Torture.” the Frenchman simply stated ”yeah torture sounds good to me”

Hey blue eyes watched him intently, the soft clicking of his tongue somehow loud in their otherwise silent setting. It was strangely eerie now that she was thinking about it. What she loved so much about the forest was the symphony of sound. Whether it be wind cascading through the leaves, the chirp of birds, the scuttle of feet – it didn’t matter, because all of that was missing. The only recognizable sounds belonging to the strangers situated across from each other. One a handsome brunette, the other a striking red. Her brows raised as he continued, warning her for the sake of her reputation. The thought caused her to scoff; reputation was the least of Meera’s worries. No one would know the difference. It’s not as though I traipsed out here with you on my arm, or anything of the like. She smiled, lifting her arm, as if needing to emphasize the point that it was empty. She assumed he took heed to his reputation, otherwise she doubted he would be son interested in her own. You’ve no need to worry on my account, believe me I am more than capable.
She felt her lips lilting into a smile as he continued to speak. For one reason or another Mathew seemed unable to complete a thought. While she found it amusing, she found herself curious. What was causing the lapse of speech? It seemed that he had more an ear for gossip than she might have though. Gossip, reputation, it was all the same in her mind. Mattie.. She started, her lack of articulation calm. Do you mind if I call you Mattie? It was a cool interjection, she didn’t really care what he thought. She liked the way it rolled off her tongue, it didn’t seem so sophisticated. Somehow, it fit him, the lesser sophisticated side. You see, I pay little mind to what anyone should have to say. All that matters to me, belongs to me. Right now, what matters is that I’m quite enjoying my time here, regardless of your invasion. If it was his intention to frighten her, he was doing just the opposite. Meera could play at these games, in fact – she loved them.
Pray tell me, why not? She quizzed, taking a step closer, to bridge the distance between the two. Any other young girl might have taken his words as a warning, but Meera couldn’t help but to except them as a challenge. It seems I have already met these unsightly odds. Deep dark forest, naughty boy, innocent girl. Tell me where does the story go from there? Meera was far from innocent. It was very likely she was pushing boundaries, but her curiosity always got the better of her. It so happened that she was very curious about the boy who stood before her, curious enough that she allowed herself to take yet another step. In close proximity she was aware that he smelled very much like the woods around him almost as though he belonged there. Even in his sophistication he was rugged enough,
His next words were so simple that they actually made her laugh aloud, a bright noise in the eerie silence which had settled between the two. That’s an interesting method, Detective. she teased, slipping her long copper locks back over her shoulder. Her eyes glimmered as she raised them to meet his own, she couldn’t be sure if he were serious or not. Meera highly doubted it, but she wasn’t eagerly going to step away. Not now when she was so intrigued. I suppose that means you would have to catch me first… her intent was coy, that she knew. Nimbly she slipped between the rafts, jumping down to the dry creek bed. Once she was settled on the ground her feet bare against the earth, she turned her attention back to him. Well what are you waiting for… you won’t make any progress standing around like that detective. With emphasis on the last word she took off down the creek bed. Even barefoot she was quick, but she knew it would not be long before he was again in her wake.

“my dear… may I call you my dear?” he mimicked her, ”The fact that we weren’t arm in arm when we came out here is even worse. It means that we are quite literally sneaking around.” not that he had ever had a previous problem with sneaking around.
“why tell you the rest of the story when I could show you,” the man growled out as his feet took gaping steps towards her to close out the distance between the two individuals. But before he could push her lithe frame against the trunk of his perching tree, she had bolted off down the river bed. Damn these girls and their trickery!
She should have known better though. Never ever try to out run an Amherst. They had special... uh… abilities that caused them to be able to do actions that were not humanly possible. Yet, how would she know that. After all she was toying with him and only one other person dared to do that – Chloe. She was a vixen and now he was beginning to think he might have another one on his hands.
This was going to be challenge keeping up with both girls now. On the other hand, he had never felt challenged by his juggling act of women before. It was just that he was use to being the pursued and not the purser. It was a big change when he accepted that it was a tug of war game with Chloe and now he had to hold on to two different ropes? He was not sure if he would be able to hold down his sturdy footing on each side of his fight.
While he pondered his tugging women he had caught up to the girl who had the nerve to challenge him to a race. Mathew let out a throaty chuckle as he high tailed it around the small girl and rotated on the spot to jump out in front of her hoping to stop her. ”Where do you think you are going? I still need your name… you know, for the detention forum.” He was hardly out of breath after his jog down the empty river, smooth eroded stones under neath their feet. He cocked his head when he peered downwards. It was at this second he realized she was shoeless. Shoeless? That would make her easier to catch.

Her lips curved ever so lightly as he spoke, it would seem that he’d no objection to the use of Mattie. While she was glad, she almost found in strange that he had met her with no objections. It was often that a male took so kindly to nicknames, particularly when it sounded so much a pet name, but she wasn’t to be bothered. He mimicked her in his response and she merely nodded, her blue gaze intent on his strongly shaped features. He had no name to call her by after all as she’d not seen fit to give it, at least not yet. I suppose it’s only suitable, as you’ve yet to close the case. She teased, clicking her tongue against the top of her mouth. Meera wasn’t so keen on just handing it to him on a platter, not when he seemed so eager to work for it. He’d made it clear from the start that his intent was not a serious one and as she was – Meera never took anything too seriously. She did wonder though what this handsome gentleman’s intent was as he didn’t seem eager to just let her go.
If it would help to calm your nerves I could take your arm upon our return, though I don’t think that would serve to stifle such a rumor She said, curling her coppered locks in between her fingers as she cocked her head at him. It is well past hours. Regardless of how we return, I’m sure that word will spread. That doesn’t worry you does it? Meera asked, emphasizing the last few syllables in order to make a point. It mattered little to her what rumors were in the air. She paid them little heed as was obvious, or she might know a thing or two more about Mattie here. Besides, words were only words after all, they were nothing more. Meera had always grown under the belief that words couldn’t harm her, she’d also thought it silly that they had such an effect on everyone else.
“Why tell you the rest of the story when I could show you,” Meera laughed, his word echoing in the empty space upon the bridge. She’d already slid through the beams and landed among the rocky creek bed before the words had truly taken form, his steps to close the distance now having only drawn them farther apart. You can’t possibly show me from up there. She called, having already started down the path. The ground was cool against her bare feet and she felt very much at peace. Her steps were nimble as she crossed the path, avoiding brambles and using smooth stones to bound off of. Her hair trailed out behind her as she rushed through the darkness, with only the milky light of the moon to guide her way.
Meera did not need to look back to know that he was quickly gaining on her. She’d not been planning much of an escape, she’d left her shoes after all. The bridge was still in sight when suddenly he was before her. While she had been expecting him, she hadn’t been expecting him so quickly. Even running, he managed to be silent; she’d barely even heard him approaching. She’d not even had the proper time to stop, as he’d appeared before her so quickly. Her blue eyes wide, she had to grab his shoulder in order to keep herself from totally stumbling over the top of him. She rested there with her hands against him for a moment, a brilliant laugh escaping her lips before she finally stepped back, once more finding her own balance. She smiled at him, combing her fingers through his hair as she watched his eyes travel down her form landing at her bare feet. He wasn’t completely impervious to her game.
You’re a hopeless detective. She giggled, side stepping him as she continued down the river bed. As she stepped past him she turned her head back, watching him over her shoulder as she lifted her finger, casually gesturing for him to follow. You’re making the exchange far too unfavorable. A name for detention, you’ll have to do better than that. She’d give him her name, in time, but she was having far much too fun making him work for it. And to think I got yours out of you so easily. Whatever shall you do Mattie? Is the mystery too much?

”I am no stranger about returning back in a late hour.” He waved his hand out of dismissal. ”I believe that it would be you, who should worry about returning.” Mathew gave her a smug smirk ”I have excuses lined up for such an occasion but you however, do not” Mathew tisked his tongue at her, ”And golly! You’ve been caught red-handed and there is no getting around that fact.”
The moment that the young girl connected with his strong frame, he let out a hearty chuckle. It was quite a sight, his brutish body and her petite one. They were polar opposites and to be honest it was quite strange to see their comparisons. ”Now that I’ve caught the criminal what shall I do with her?” he was about to snake his arms around her to keep her from escaping but that was fruitless when she was able to back up and side step from him.
Darnit! This girl was too sneaky.
Her laugh was infectious and adorable to say the least. That’s when he caught on to her. Mathew snapped his fingers loudly when all the pegs finally clicked into place. He knew exactly where he had saw her before. The mystery was all figured out. Well it was all figured out in his mind, who was to say if it was correct or not. She would never tell him anything. Especially after convincing her that detention was at stake. ”I’ve got it!” she was a weasel! She blended into the history and into his group that he would have never noticed if she hadn’t giggled. Mathew began jogging again to catch up to her.
The young Cossu knew exactly where he had heard that laugh in passing before. Well, he knew exactly who that giggle liked to hang out around. He shook his head at her, ”You’re Roy’s gal pal, ain’t that right?” his thick accent drolled out, Mathew waggled his finger at her ”I’ve seen you hanging around that lot.” Now it wasn’t long until he could recall her name. He sifted through the catalogue of names in his mind-index but not much more surfaced than knowing who she liked to loll about with.
"The secret is over bearing, that is for certain. I fear that this will be the secret that plagues me on my deathbed" Mathew placed the back of his hand on his forehead to faint his worry and discomfort.

Meera let her eyes shy away from Matthew’s as she collided with his strong frame. She bit her lip hesitantly as she pushed herself off him, hands moving to dust her slight frame. She hadn’t noticed it before, back when she had been toying with him on the bridge, but now in close proximity she was realizing him to be well above her stature. She felt relatively small in his presence. There was no doubt that he was strong, but taking a second look, there was something almost wild about him. Something untamed. Meera avoided his gaze, a slight blush warming her cheeks as she stepped around him, distancing herself from his overbearing stature. His words again met her from behind, as he was still standing solidly where she had left him mere moments before. Either you’re a poor police or I’m a stealthy criminal. Either way you’ve not done much in way of punishment. She said, a laugh escaping her lips as she turned, pausing to watch him in his place.
He seemed to be stuck on some idea, caught on the forefront of his mind. It kept him there for a time before he snapped his fingers with an explanation. Meera raised her brow questioningly, letting her hand fall languidly on her hip as he jogged up beside her. Only once he’d fallen into step did she start walking again, nimbly making her way from stone to stone. What have you got exactly? She asked curiously turning her eyes on her male companion, making sure to push the coppery tendrils from her face, so they might see each other clearly. It seemed as though something had finally clicked with him – something that he had been missing before. You’re Roy’s gal pal, ain’t that right? She offered a simple nod, but chose not to speak until he was done. It seemed that he had managed to piece together some part of the puzzle. Maybe he was a better detective than she thought. We’re friends of sorts. She said, affirming the information he’d laid out before them. In fact, Roy was probably one of her closest friends here at Beauxbatons. It wasn’t unlikely that Mattie remembered her being in the males company. Roy was a bit of a character himself and Meera loved his easy going personality. They had their fun, but it was nothing serious. It was all just good fun, mostly. Whatever clued you off? It was curious that the two were familiar with one another, but had never actually met. It wasn’t as though Beauxbatons were overly large. And furthermore, why the delayed introduction? Or were you just waiting till you could stalk me into the forest? Teasing, Meera nudged him slightly with her elbow. Of course he hadn’t followed her here, but she could chide him as she pleased.
Overbearing, is that so? Well I’d hate to deprive you of anything. If you must know the name is Meera. She rolled her eyes at his mockery, the back of his hand pressed against his head. I’d hate to be the one to have you worrying on your deathbed. She’d not given her name so easily, it’d been fun to keep him guessing, but she wondered what he’d do now that he’d met his query. I am curious though Mattie, why are you really out here? Stalking me aside.
