beatrix athena bingham welcomes you to the library. normally found in the french ministry training to be an auror she was assigned to duty at Beauxbatons Academy. Her deep knowledge and excellent skills made her the perfect candidate for this exclusive opportunity. With all her wisdom and expertise feel free to ask her anything and she'll always have an answer for you. want to know a specific set of books on the latest wizarding war? Need to brush up on your quidditch knowledge before the new season starts? She's your girl. while he may have a somewhat intimidating demeanor, he is more than willing aid any student (or staff member!) in trouble. Don't underestimate her though, Beatrix is a stickler for the rules and never hesitates put anyone in their place.
with every library, there are rules. there are only a few but they must be followed.
- no screaming/yelling/shouting/etc. (10 house points & 1 karma will be docked)
- inappropriate behavior beyond simply kissing (10 house points & 1 karma from each participant will be docked)
- harassment/bullying (20 house points & 2 karma from the accused)
- vandalizing (20 house points & 1 karma)
the list may be updated without warning, so please be aware!
so how do we gain points for your house? well, that's simple!
- help by putting books away (PM me the link to the thread)
- clean the library
- anything to help other students when inside the library
with each good act, you will gain 1 karma and 20 house points!
and basically, there are multiple wings of the library.
of course, there's the main hall as seen above.
there's also the kingston wing, usually the room used for quiet gatherings and study groups. this room is located on the first floor at the back of the library.
of course, there's always the restricted section, a part where only students with passes or library helpers are authorized. the restricted section is beyond a door that's located behind the librarian's desk so you can rarely ever get by her (since she's always there, reading). you go down a staircase and through another door and there you are. there's a window opening to the lake, so it has an eerie blue light to it.
to get from floor to floor (there are 2 floors in this library) you must use the winding staircases, located in every corner and in the middle.
and last but not least, in the front of the second floor, there is the staff library where most books on lectures and papers are located as well as a magically updated student roster to find every single student. students are only allowed up there when accompanied by a teacher.
