Life was a beautiful thing right about now and Genevieve honestly couldn’t be any happier. It was funny just thinking about it because the last time she had felt this incredibly happy was when Silas and she got married. Their wedding day had been magical and, to be quite frank, Genevieve never once thought that anything could ever match up to that day. Genevieve had almost been absolutely certain that when she had left for a year, she would return and Silas would not want to be with her anymore. She would never been able to wear the gorgeous rings that called her left 4th ring finger home and she would never be able to address herself as Mrs. Genevieve Demont. Mrs. Demont it still sounded absolutely foreign to her and she was unsure if she would ever really get used to it.
It had been a couple of weeks since she changed her husband, Silas into a vampire. Her wonderful, human husband was now an immortal like she was and there was no denying that fact that they would really be together forever, It had also been a couple of weeks since shy, quiet Silas Demont turned into a brand new man. It made Genevieve smile just to think about it. She never once complained that Silas was too polite for her, and she never even really minded that fact. Respect was something she admired and Silas was literally the epitome of a perfect gentleman. But this new Silas…wow.
Genevieve sat on the floor of the dungeons, thinking about the time that she and Silas have spent together since that day. She didn’t know where he was right now, but she didn’t mind. He had been doing incredibly practicing self control and feeding on his own. It was almost as though he was born to be a vampire. She never once had to hold his hand or remind him that human blood was not okay while he was in Beauxbatons. His transformation from human to vampire could not have been anymore perfect.
The brunette stood up from the cold hard floor, and found herself wandering toward a very specific chamber. It was a chamber she knew all too well and often found herself within when times were uncertain. Genevieve didn’t know why she felt the need to be there, seeing as everything right now seemed to be so perfect and so sure. And yet, her small feet led her to the Mirror of Erised anyway. She entered the cold chamber, rubbing her hands along her arms. Surprisingly, it was so cold even she could feel it. Her blue eyes found the mirror and she smiled at what she saw. Slowly, she lowered herself to ground, staring back her most desired thought and, instantly, a feeling of sadness swept over her and she realized it would never happen…not in this life.

Being a vampire was both what he expected and what he hadn't. He knew about what temptations there might be and about how his body would change in part. That had all been understood and expected. He had not been ready for how his personality would change or how both easy and hard it would be to be around people. He had counted on a struggle because he had seen it with the others when they were turned, but he had been different. The only reason he could see was because he had Gene, and having her meant knowing that she would not let anything bad happen because of him. She, as she had always been, was his source of strength and a constant reminder of what life promised once he truly got control of his urges.
It had been a couple of weeks now, and he was definitely getting better. There were a couple of times when he had to flee the castle to make sure he didn't hurt anyone, but mostly he was doing quite well. His hunting still left a bit to be desired, but Gene was an amazing teacher. In the times that he had gone out by himself to hunt, things had went fairly well. Ok, there was the time that he had fallen out of a tree because he wasn't paying attention, but other than that nothing had happened. In fact, the transition had been so much easier than he had thought that it scared him a little. However, he was grateful for the gift he had been given and so tried not to dwell on it.
Tonight, he had been wondering about after an interesting afternoon on the hunt and talking with his friends. In fact, time passed by quite quickly when he was out, and he had scarcely noticed. His perception of time definitely was off compared to when he was a human. Of course, all that he really cared about time wise was the time he would get to spend with Gene. That was what this had all been for, and he was glad that they no longer had to worry about Silas growing old. In fact, their relationship had only intensified once he was changed.
Now, he found himself walking towards a room that he knew very well. It was the place where his relationship with Gene had first begun, or at least his relationship knowing her. They had met by the mirror of erised when he had been quite sick. He had gone to the room to be away from others because he had not wanted them to see him the way he was, and he hadn't been able to get up from the spot. Then she had come along, and his world had not been the same since.
When he entered the room, he was taken by surprise to find his wife staring into the mirror. In less than a second, he was behind her with his eyes softly placed on her eyes. Of course, she probably had sensed him the moment he had entered the room, but he always liked to see if he could sneak up on her. "Can you guess who?" he asked in a fake voice.
Note: No worries. I don't think it's bad. <3

Genevieve fought to come to terms with the fact that what she was seeing the mirror never being able to happen was not her fault. She didn’t ask to be bitten that night, although she probably hadn’t helped prevent it from happening either. She supposed that whether or not she had not be flirtatious and avoided the man who ultimately changed her life forever that he would have found another way. Gene never fully understood the lack of self control vampires were cursed with until she was one herself. She remembered completely, when she had killed a human for the first time, the feeling of not wanting to do it, but her body screaming at her to do so. With all her strength, she tried to stay were she was, tune out the beating of her victim’s steady heart and the smell of the blood circulating through his veins. In the end, her thirst had won and that boy was no buried in the Enchanted Woods with a family mourning the loss of a son they were never able to properly bury.
No, this life would not have been her own choice, which was why she had been so upset when Silas had told her he wanted this the night she returned. They had a rough year and it seemed so inappropriate at the time to discuss, but Genevieve knew that it needed to be discussed. When she had married Silas that day by the lake, she was fully aware of the possibility of Silas growing old without her and maybe dying from one of the many bouts of sickness that plagued him at least 4 times a year. The only way she could keep him alive forever was to change him, but she would never allowed him to choose that life because of her. They fought so adamantly about the decision and, ultimately, Genevieve gave into the wishes of her husband. Luckily, things had gone perfectly. If Gene had killed him, had been unable to stop drinking from his veins or if the transformation proved too much for his weak body that it killed him, she would not have been able to live. Silas was her rock and her everything. Without him, life was not worth living.
Can you guess who?
A pair of cool hands covered her eyes and, despite his attempts, Genevieve knew exactly who it was. She let out a small laugh and placed her own thin hands atop his, gently pulling them away. ”You know, you may be a vampire and not have a heartbeat, but you still have a smell all your own,” she said, turning her piercing blue eyes to him and giving him a small smile. She turned her attention back to the mirror, pulling her knees close to her chest and letting out a sigh. ”To think, the last time I came here, I saw us together in the mirror dressed for a wedding. Now look at us, happily married for two years.”
She smiled and extended her arm to Silas to grab hold of his hand. She gently tugged to show she wanted him to sit down beside her. Their love was almost like a magnet. No matter what, it seemed the two of them always managed to end up together somehow. Her friends of course teased her unceasingly because she was ALWAYS with her husband, but honestly being with him was when she was her happiest. The farther away from each other that they were, the more she could feel her frozen heart ache. She always wanted to be with him; being away just didn’t feel right to her. ”What do you see, my love? What is your biggest desire? she asked, wanting to know if he would see the same thing she did. The laugh that Gene let out made him smile, and that grin grew even wider at her touch. He loved her laugh; he loved her. "And what exactly do I smell like to you, Mrs. Demont?" he asked pulling her to him for a quick hug. That was another thing that was interesting to him. He liked learning the smells of people. Each one really was quite individual though most right now still smelled a bit like food. Of course, the first person he had learned the smell of had been Gene. She was his favorite, and hers was also the easiest to pick out. He wondered if the close bond they had bore some influence on the smell and the potency of the smell they had to one another.
Silas had wondered what Gene might see, and knowing that at one point it had been seeing the two of them get married made him duck his head a little shyly. He honestly could have blushed had he still been human. It was a big thing to him to have been part of her desire. He held her hand in his and seated himself next to her. As he sat, he kissed her hand softly and turned to face the mirror as she was doing. It was amazing that even on days when they were not together, they managed to find one another. The castle was a very large place particularly if one counted the grounds, and yet he had still managed to come across her. It just showed him that fate really must have been working to bring them together.
At her question, Silas was silenced for a moment. He honestly was not sure what would be in the mirror. There were times before he and Gene had been together when he though he'd known what it was that he wanted, and yet the mirror had shown him something different. Of course, it had been some time since he had looked in the mirror. "I guess I should look to see what the mirror thinks it is," he said. "The last thing I saw has already come true." He kissed her and moved over just a little so that he could look into the surface of the mirror. He was a little nervous; if what he saw was what he believed it would be interesting.
Slowly his eyes went up to the mirror. He looked into it and held his gaze on it with a deep intensity. The image took shape, and he was not disappointed. It was just as he had thought it would be, but it was not something he was sure he could share with Gene. His deepest desire was something that the two of them would not be able to have. Gene was his biggest desire not to mention his entire world and reason for existing, but this was something else he had wanted since he had been younger. "I see the two of us still happily married to one another but with one addition," he said.
Note: Sorry for the lateness. Also, if this is not where you were going, sorry. I kind of think this is where Silas would be at though.

And what exactly do I smell like to you, Mrs. Demont?
His strong arms wrapped her thin body and pulled her closer to him into a warm embrace and Gene laughed. Jokingly, she moved her face to his neck and sniffed. She pulled away making a face, but then smiled and nudged him with her shoulder. ”Honeysuckle with a hint of pine. It’s mesmerizing,”
she admitted. Gene always wondered why it was that people had scents specific to them. Gene had been told she smelled like a variety of things: magnolias, roses, and even French tulips. She wasn’t sure which one was correct, or if they all were, but she never did understand why there were her scents. She didn’t bathe with soaps or washes that smelled like that and she didn’t use any lotions or perfumes like them either. It was pretty cool, actually, to think that every single person, human and non-human, had a distinct smell that set them apart from everything else. Most humans all smelled the same to her though: blood. Silas took a seat beside his wife, holding her delicate hand in his own and planting the sweetest of kisses upon her skin. Genevieve smiled lovingly at her boyfriend, so happy and content in this moment. That was, until she remembered the images in the mirror. How upsetting a way to remember that you as a woman will never be able to fulfill your purpose…it would have brought tears to Gene’s eyes had Silas not been here. Genevieve hated to cry in front of anyone and especially Silas. In her opinion, it made her look too weak. When Silas had said the last thing he had seen in the mirror already came true, she gave him a small smile. Soft lips touched her own as she shuffled closer to get a better look at what his desire was now. Gene sat beside him, holding his hand firmly in his and looking down at the knot they formed. She gently ran her thumb over his smooth, marble like skin as she waited for his answer. She so hoped he would see what she had so she would not seem so weird for having desired such a thing. However, she also wished he didn’t see what she saw because it would make for a conversation she honestly wasn’t sure if she was ready to have. I see the two of us happily married, but with one addition. She perked up instantly and looked up into her husband’s eyes. An addition? Does he see us with a kid? A puppy? A kitten? Way to be vague, love, Genevieve thought as she struggled with an answer for him. As much happiness as there was right in this moment, especially in relation to how utterly perfect her marriage currently was, Genevieve knew deep down the conversation would arise sooner or later. Silas was not an idiot: certainly, he was fully aware of their incapability to have children. It was just a matter of how he felt about it and what would they do. ”You see him, don’t you?” Gene whispered, looking down at the floor. Him, referring to the son they would never be able to create and bring into this world. ”Oh Silas,” she choked as tears began to rush down her cheeks. The thought of not being able to have children was too much to bear. What kind of wife was she if she couldn’t bear children? Honeysuckle. That was interesting. Honeysuckle was one of his favorite smells. That smell with pine sounded rather pleasant. Experimentally, he sniffed a little on his arm, but he didn't get that aroma. "Well I'm glad that's what you smell. All I smell is my shirt," he said with a laugh. "You know, you're pretty mesmerizing yourself. Although, I think it would be a little awkward if people saw me sniffing you," he said with a shy smile on his face. Though he had found another side of himself when he was turned, he still got nervous around Gene. No matter what, she was probably always going to make him feel that way.
Seeing what he saw in the mirror was hard. He knew that they couldn't have a child, and in some ways that hurt. However, he was still perfectly content spending the rest of his life with Gene. Perhaps they could find an addition another way if that was something both of them really wanted. If not, then he knew that he could spend forever enjoying her company. Besides, what was in the mirror wasn't the end all of everything. Honestly, he had what he needed right next to him. As he though this, he gave her hand a gentle squeeze.
The change in Gene's tone immediately made Silas turn to her and pull her closely against him. "It's alright, Gene. Yes, I see him...sometimes a her, but what I am truly happy with is you." He paused for a moment to put a finger under her chin and left her eyes up to his. "I'm sorry this causes you pain, love. Know though that I am truly happy with you. Whether or not we can have children is besides the point. The point is that you are the love of my life, and having that one image I saw come true for me is more than I could have ever asked for. You are my treasure."
After he had spoken, his lips touched her softly at first. They traced around them, and then he gently added a little pressure until he was giving her the most gentle and loving of kisses. He withdrew a little and tucked some hair behind her ears. "Please, smile for me darling," he told her. Seeing her like this was not something he enjoyed or wanted. He wanted her happy. "You are beautiful," he whispered.
Note: Almost put chinchilla instead of child on accident....that would've made an interesting conversation.

You know, you’re pretty mesmerizing yourself. Although, I think it would be a little awkward if people saw me sniffing you.
Gene scrunched her nose up, something she did when she was being poked and made fun off. She shook her head and shrugged her shoulders at her husband’s comment. ”People already think you’re weird, so it’s not like it’s anything new,”
she joked back, letting out another laugh and poking her husband’s side. Despite all the emotions she was feeling right now, laughter was good. If she was serious all the time, people would think she was a depressed individual. Rule #1 of being a former popular girl: you never let other people see your emotions. Of course, she didn’t want to hide anything from Silas and she was almost sure she never could. Silas could read her face better than her old families could; guess that’s what happens when you’ve been with the same person for as long as they have. She felt her small body being pulled close to his and she shuffled herself into his lap, stuffing her face into his chest. It’s alright Gene. Yes, I see him…sometimes a her, but what I am truly happy with is you. His cool finger lifted her face up and she reluctantly turned her azure blue eyes up to her husband. A her? That made Genevieve even more upset. Of course, as a mother, she would have loved all of her children equally. She often heard stories of families playing favorites and it only called for huge familial problems in the future. But as a woman, her dream was to have a little girl she could dress up, play with her hair, and teach her how she needed to find a man like her father. I'm sorry this causes you pain, love. Know though that I am truly happy with you. Whether or not we can have children is besides the point. The point is that you are the love of my life, and having that one image I saw come true for me is more than I could have ever asked for. You are my treasure. His lips touched hers before she had the chance to answer. Genevieve’s muscles instantly relaxed at his touch and it was like all her sadness was being taken away through their lips. When it was over, Gene let out a sigh, placing her head back on his chest. Her finger began to trace a shape on his chest as she struggled with what to say. ”And you are my treasure. But doesn’t a part of you just wish things were different? That we could do the things a married couple were meant to do? Wouldn’t you want the house with the white picket fence and the well-manicured lawn and children running around the front yard? That’s what hurts…I feel like it’s my fault.” she told him. She couldn’t be upset for long though. He soon asked her to smile and she couldn’t deny him that. He gently tucked some hair behind her head and she looked up to him and gave him the smile he wanted. ”You are beautiful too,” she whispered back, rubbing her thumb on his cheek and pulling his face to hers. Silas put his hand on his chest with a shocked expression. "Me? Weird? No," he gasped out. Then he gave her a wink. It was true. He knew that he was a little weird even if she had just been joking. Silas was kind of your stay in the background type of person, so not many people knew him. "Perhaps I am just a little, but as long as you're ok with it, so am I." He smiled at her and gave her a kiss on the forehead. Silas really enjoyed being affectionate with Gene, and she made it so easy for him to be that way. There was still a little awkwardness when they were around other people and he wanted to kiss her as he had been raised as a non PDA person, but that had been getting better as well.
The feel of her head against his chest felt so natural. It was like every part of their bodies fit together like puzzle pieces. However, this conversation was a little sad not just for him but he knew for her as well. He felt that the two of them would have made wonderful parents, especially her. It was there right in front of him; he could see how it might look. However, he did feel completely happy just being with her. They could adopt or get a bunch of animals maybe. Perhaps some chinchillas would be nice. He had always liked them, and they were very cute.
Silas loved her sigh. It made him feel like he had at least lessened the sadness and made her a little happy. Her touch on his chest was nice as well though he wondered if there was a particular shape she was drawing. He could sense there was still troubles going through her mind, but he did not press. She would say what she wanted to say, and he would help if he could.
He thought about her question for a moment to get his thoughts together. "I don't know," he answered honestly. "I feel like I've been given so much and that while some of the things 'normal' couples do we can't, we also get to do and experience so much more than others.." For a moment he paused as he thought about the picket fence. It was something he thought about before. "We can still have the white picket fence and the semi-decent manicured lawn. Do I wish we could have children? Yes, but I think there are other ways it could happen for us."
When she said that she felt it was her fault, he pulled her even tighter against him. "My darling, it is not your fault. Never feel like that because it isn't true." Seeing her smile instantly helped him relax. Still, he felt very protective all of a sudden. His arms did not let her go, and when she whispered that he was beautiful, he could not resist but to give her another kiss. While he could not see the beauty that she saw in himself, he could see what he had in front of him. He sucked gently on her lip and then kissed her drawing back after a moment. "Sorry dear. I can't help myself around you."
Note: I couldn't resist adding the chinchilla thing.

We can still have the white picket fence and the semi-decent manicured lawn…
Genevieve let out a laugh. She shoved Silas’ chest slightly before leaning back down into his chest. Leave it to him to take what she said about a well-manicured lawn and change it to a ‘semi-decent manicured lawn.’ It was the little things like this that just made her wish they could have had that normal, human marriage where you cherished every last second with one another because you never knew which was going to be your last. Granted, she cherished every moment she had now, not because any one of them could be their last, but because she loved the things that she could do with him now that he wasn’t a fragile human. Before his immortality had come into the picture, kissing, touching, playing, even being near one another brought such a great risk. At any moment, Genevieve could have lost control and who knows what could have happened. Now, things were so intimate, so full of passion sometimes, it was hard to even separate them. It was a wonder the two of them weren’t all over each other right now.
She understood how shy her husband was, even though even that side of him was changing slightly. He touched her in new ways, kissed her in new ways, and the passion behind his touch and kisses made things hot and heavy too quick sometimes, even in the most inappropriate places. Being out in public, they always had to watch themselves because even a little brush across the lips could lead to Genevieve attacking him in an embrace not meant for the public eye. That part kind of pissed her off too; how they could have so much love for each other and have so many ways to show exactly how much love was there except for the way that humans could. She never thought she would envy humans more than she did now…
”I guess the lawn is going to be my job then,”
she replied after a period of silence, looking up at her husband and laughing again. ”I don’t mind. I can plant a beautiful garden and our house will be beautiful.” She liked the thought of having a home with her husband where they can ‘grow old’ together. His arms protectively surrounded her and she melted into his touch slightly, only slightly, because he then kissed her as she moved his face towards hers. His cool lips sucked on hers and she kept her hands on his face, tilting her head to the side as she felt herself getting lost in his kiss as she so often did…until he pulled away abruptly. Sorry dear. I can’t help myself around you Genevieve frowned slightly, keeping her hands on his face and her face close to his. ”You don’t have to stop yourself every time you feel like you may lose control. We’re alone now anyway,” she whispered to him, moving her blue eyes to his lips and licking her own slightly. This new Silas gave her some insight into what she had been missing all these years. Not that the PDA sucked when he was human; it just carried a greater risk of her killing him that it did now. Besides, she missed his kisses and touch when he was human because with every thing came such a feeling of warmth from the blood circulating through his body. Genevieve pulled away from Silas, not wanting to push any boundaries that he may not feel comfortable with yet. She just hoped he knew that she wanted to show him how much she loved him one day. Maybe one day when they had their own place, it you know what I mean xD. The blonde grabbed her hair and pulled it to the one side, allowing her opposite cheek to rest on her husband’s chest. She began to play with her wedding band and engagement ring, something she often did when she was thinking. ”Where would you want to live?” she asked suddenly, sitting up slightly and looking at him. Her family was in England and, to be honest, she had no idea where Silas’ family was from. He spoke so prim and proper it was hard to tell sometimes. And she wasn’t very good at decoding accents either. Silas put on an injured look when Gene shoved him and rubbed his chest. Then, he winked at her and gave her a little poke. That had sort of become one of his trademark moves with her. There were a great many things that he only did with her, and he had the feeling that more would develop since they could now do more things without the worry that he'd get hurt. It was like a whole new world had opened up for them, and it was one that he rather enjoyed. Yes, some things he was still trying to get used to. However, mostly it had been amazing. They were even more connected than they had been before, and he felt super tuned to her. Besides feeling attached, they also had a huge heat between them now. Not that it hadn't been there before, but his change seemed to have compounded it. Of course, he wasn't complaining. He could kiss Gene the way he wanted to now.
That had given them some interesting times already. He wondered if all vampire couples experienced these sorts of things, but there was nobody he could really check with. Still, it would be nice to know about some of these things. Thankfully, the room of requirement as well as the woods had been very helpful. It was hard to control the urges when they came. Their PDA was normally like everybody else, but that had taken a bit of time to learn control. He wondered if it was as hard for Gene as it was for him since he was still a little bit of a newborn. Then again, to his knowledge, she hadn't felt this sort of thing before either.
A laugh escaped his lips at her comment. "Most definitely," he told her seriously. "See I can do gardens, but lawns have never been my specialty. The whole thing ends up looking like a five year old cut it...with scissors or something. I'd love to do the garden with you though, and if I'm living with you, then I have no doubt that our house will be beautiful." He smiled shyly at her. He couldn't help but flirt with her. The kiss they shared made him get lost, but not in a bad way. It was the sort of lost that one didn't necessarily want to come back from. Of course, he had to at some point.
He felt very aware of Gene's proximity to him and how her hands felt. "You have a point. Still, I guess I'm not used to being this way quite yet. Old habits you know," he told her with a smile. His eyes were transfixed to her tongue on her lips. Every movement she made now he was super aware of. However much he wanted to kiss her though, he had still been raised in a certain way which seemed to still rule part of him. In the end she moved away, but he did lean to give her head a kiss. "Just so you know, I do want to kiss you, but you're right. Sometimes I worry about losing control. Of course, then I look at you and feel better."
The feel of her against his chest again made him smile. Again, it was like they were puzzle pieces that just fit. He watched her play with her rings and remained quiet as she thought. The question she asked seemed a bit out of the blue, but then again they had been talking about the semi-manicured lawn. "I haven't thought about that in a while," he told her looking off into the mirror in front of them. "I used to think that perhaps we could have two homes. One in the country or by or in the woods might be nice. Plenty of room to ourselves but also a house in the city or something." Beyond that he had not thought about place. Being able to use magic made traveling easier, so sticking to a certain country hadn't really crossed his mind. "What about you?" he asked with interest.

When push came to shove, the amount of PDA they could partake in now meant nothing to the blonde Cossu. These two vampires loved each other more than either one could have begun to imagine all those years ago. They have been to hell and back, mostly because of Genevieve’s indiscretions and the amount of hurt she put Silas through, but still. The one thing that never fell apart was their love. It withstood every storm, every crazy war it had been put up against. This guy sitting beneath her was her everything and she hated that she even thought she could live without him. Without Silas, no life was ever worth living; just the happiness that welled up inside of her when she had returned to find him sitting in the common room waiting for her was enough to confirm that.
However, this new lustful loss of control was not something she was used to. She was very good and being able to stop herself when he was human; his life meant more to her than anything in the world and, if she killed him, she would have certainly found someone to kill her. From her point of view, it seemed Silas was struggling more than she was. He had never been this way; he had always been the epitome of a perfect gentleman, born and raised with impeccable manners that would not be changed for any beautiful, immortal even his own wife. To be honest, Genevieve was almost positive their wedding night had been the most proper wedding night that probably ever existed in this world xD Silas was a vampire now and vampire senses knew no bounds. What was burning inside him was the passion of an immortal who depending on such things to go in for a kill. That was the whole reason why vampires were the way they were; vampires were perfectly chiseled, god-like creatures who could attract anyone and anything with a simple touch or with the musical words that escaped their lips. The two of them did not think, however, that they would continue to have this effect even after Silas was changed. It looked to be that their powers of persuasion and seduction even worked on other vampires.
Most definitely. See, I can do gardens, but lawns have never been specialty. The whole thing ends up looking like a five year old cut it…with scissors or something. I’d love to do the garden with you though, and if I’m living with you, then I have no doubt that our house will be beautiful
Genevieve looked down at her hands, knowing that she would be blushing right now if she could. It seemed like he was making her feel like she could blush a lot tonight. [color008397]”Cutting a lawn is not that difficult, Mr. Demont,”
she laughed, shaking her blonde hair as she did so. ”However, I suppose that since gardening is more of your forte, that you may plant the garden with me. We can have the most perfect roses, hydrangeas, lilies and carnations. A perfect garden for what will be a perfect home. You have a point. Still, I guess I’m not used to being quite this way yet. Old habits you know? Just so you know, I do want to kiss you, but you’re right. Sometimes I worry about losing control. Of course, then I look at you and feel better. Gene watched as his hazel eyes flickered to her lips and the way her tongue ran across them. She smiled to herself, loving just how much she got to him now. He had so much self control before and now, it was obvious, they control was faltering. He was no longer as strong as he once was. However, Genevieve respected his boundaries, not wanting to push him to run when he was just learning to walk. This was a whole new life for him, for both of them. They had all of eternity to experiment, try new things, and, most importantly, lose control. She would move at the pace Silas deemed comfortable and appropriate for himself. Right now it seemed that pace was incredibly slow and 100 steps behind were Gene was. Oh well. Whatever he wanted, right? ”I know love. I’m just struggling with keeping control. I guess it’s because I’ve waited so long for this… she admitted shyly. She shrugged her shoulders and let a small smile form on her lips. ”I’m sorry if I push it too far. I literally cannot control myself anymore.” The conversation about the house brought her back into the moment and she pondered his questions and comments. She had never thought about a house in the woods, but was very much interested in the idea upon her husband’s mentioning of it. ”A house in the woods…that sounds utterly perfect” she breathed, closing her eyes and picturing it firmly in her mind. A beautiful little cottage tucked away in a wooded area. Plenty of room to roam and hunt, yet an infinite amount of privacy. She loved the idea. ”I know of the most perfect place, Silas. In England, not too far away from where I grew up, there was a large wooded area. Over 100 acres easily. There are all sorts of wildlife and it’s far enough from people that we don’t have to worry about stumbling upon one accidentally. That’d be important for you. It’s also right by the city so we can partake in the nightlife and enjoy some social interaction if you choose. What do you think?” A million and one ideas were running through her mind, none of which she was going to tell her husband. It was most certainly going to be a surprise. Without really thinking about it, Silas started to run his fingers lightly through Gene's hair. He smiled as she looked down at her hands. It wasn't often, in his opinion, that he got this sort of response in her. He felt like he was always the one looking down at his hands around her. "If you say so, Mrs. Demont," he responded with a smile. "However, I and the lawn my family had beg to differ." The sad thing was, he had tried cutting the lawn both with magic and without. It just didn't seem that he was able to do it. Perhaps Gene could teach him how to do it properly. Then, their lawn would be safe from a bad haircut. "I'm sure with a little help I could learn to do the lawn as well. I agree with the garden though. All those flowers sound lovely and some of my favorites. How about some vines going up one of the sides of our house?" It was something he'd thought about doing, but he wasn't sure if it would be right.
Silas knew that he needed to start letting himself go a little more, but it wasn't something that he was ready for yet. There were just so many other things that he was trying to learn to control and learn about when it came to being a vampire that he didn't feel confident about where any part of his control was at the moment. It was coming. Maybe he should start trying to take more chances. After all, if he didn't try, he wouldn't know how it was going to turn out. Besides, Gene wouldn't let anything bad happen. She would make sure that if he lost control that he would get it back again.
What Gene said made him feel better in a way. Though he did not wish problems with control on her, it was nice to know that it wasn't just him. It was comforting to know that this could happen to other vampires. "I guess in some ways I was waiting for this too, but I just didn't expect it to be this powerful." He started to spin his wedding ring around his finger as his mind went into though. However, her apology quickly shook him out of it. "Don't apologize, darling," he told her gently. "You aren't pushing too far. I'm not pushing myself enough. In fact, you wanting me to kiss you and all the other things, I think it would help if you did push a little. I'm not sure I'd push myself. I need your help."
That seemed to happen with them a lot. Silas had needed Gene's help the first time they met. He'd needed her help with a lot of things. More than that, he needed her. He wondered if the amount the couple was attracted and connected to one another had any influence on how strong their passion was towards one another in the vampiric sense. Yet another question that he could not answer.
Hearing Gene pronounce the idea as perfect made Silas smile. "England huh?" he said. "I've only been there once. I enjoyed it. Think I will pick up an accent?" he asked as he began to picture the plans that she had outlined for the home and its location. "It sounds just right for us. In fact, it's almost like it was made for us. Would the chinchillas enjoy it there?" he asked with a teasing smile. Honestly, hearing Gene talk about it made him wish that it was a real place they could go to when they were on break. They would be free from having to worry about Silas and his newborn status. They would also be in a private place where they could experiment with more of their feelings. It sounded heavenly to him.

If you say so, Mrs. Demont.
It was the little things he did that brought the brightest of smiles to her face; his fingers running through her long, blonde hair as they were now, the way his hazel eyes lit up when he looked at her, or the way his voice seemed proud when he called her ‘Mrs. Demont’. His personality changing had been the biggest of her fears when contemplating whether or not she was going to turn Silas into a vampire. She had heard one too many stories about mortals who had lost who they were when they were changed. It had happened to Genevieve, but luckily for her, the change had been for the better. Human Silas was so different from all the other men she had ever known in her life. He was always so kind, so considerate, so innocent and so loving in his own way. It was those things she prayed night and day would not change when he was a vampire.
I’m sure with a little help I could learn to do the lawn as well. I agree with the garden though. All those flowers sound lovely and some of my favorites. How about some vines going up one of the sides of our house?
Her eyes widened with excitement at his suggestion and she nodded her head forcefully, like a bobble head on a dashboard. ”That sounds so perfect; a small house with a beautiful lawn, garden, and vines up the walls of the outside. It sounds so perfect and beautiful…absolutely perfect,”
she breathed, turning to find her husband’s face and given him another kiss. This new life they were going to start together was going to be both exciting and full of unknowns. It was going to be new territory for them, living together outside of the castle like a real married couple. Who knows what the newfound freedom would cause them to do? Gene almost shivered at the thought of it all, but it was a good type of shiver---a shiver that came with utter excitement. England huh? I’ve only been there once. I enjoyed it. Think I will pick up an accent? It sounds just right for us. In fact, it’s almost like it was made for us. Would the chinchillas enjoy it there? When Silas had mentioned picking up an accent in England and if the chinchillas would like it, she let out a laugh, shaking her head. ”I cannot picture you with an accent, so luckily you will not pick up an accent while we live there. Of course, it would be rather amusing if you pretended to have one. And luckily for the chinchillas, England tends to be cool all year long and their fur will be sure to keep them warm. They will find the UK to be an exquisite place to live,” she joked, smiling to herself. In all honesty, the thought of children had never left her mind. There just had to be a way for them to have a family. Was adoption an option for vampires? Gene started to wonder and made a mental note to do some research. She was meant to be a mother in one way or another and there was nothing she wanted more than having a family with the husband she married so long ago. It was meant to be for them…she just knew it. ”It makes me so very happy to know you like the land I’ve considered for our home. After all, we’d live there for an eternity. You would need to enjoy it otherwise you’d be miserable forever. We certainly would not want that.” How strange it still was to think about having forever with Silas.
