, mr and the late mrs bennet KISS ME HARD BEFORE YOU GO, SUMMERTIME SADNESS Scarlett was always told that she looked like her father. Blonde hair, blue eyes; but she had that something from her mother, that same ethereal beauty; pale, translucent skin, delicate bone structure, and on times, the same endearing smile. Mrs Bennet was a strong woman, determined and passionate in her ways, with a presence that illuminated all those around her, and caused those of a social nature to flock to her, adoration upon their features. Mr Bennet, was an intelligent man, his nature social and welcoming, so his marriage to Constance, or Connie as he would affectionately call her, was something of a surprise, considering her less than taciturn disposition; following their union, what came as another surprise was the birth of their children, two, almost a year apart from one another, one male and one female. Whilst Mr Bennet’s profession was that of a healer, Mrs Bennet was a socialite in the sense that she sat upon board after board, fundraising for good causes and becoming a patron of many ailing charities, which with her status, were boosted and given substantial funds.
The relationship between James and Constance was nothing if not loving. He had always said that he would die before she did, because he could most certainly not live without waking up to her each morning; his words were documented, but not listened to. The day Mrs Bennet died, the whole house mourned, but none more so than her beloved husband, who merely continued to read to her from their favourite poetry books, reminding her of stories that had been etched upon her skin, but ones that she could no longer hear.
