I'LL BE AROUND GETTING NOWHERE, SLEEPING SOMEWHERE
WITH A GIRL I DREAMED OH YEAH
I'LL SING THAT OLD SONG HOW DOES IT GO
LOOK OUT SUNSHINE HERE'S THE PUNCHLINE
TAGGED FOR NOEMI
[/blockquote][/blockquote]It was a fresh morning, the type that made you feel alive with and had you breathing in deeply to savour it. The best type. These were the mornings that made Charlton grateful he had rather unwillingly dragged himself out of his cosy mass of duvets for. And what better place to enjoy it than Joli Park. Although he didn’t feel the cold so much thanks to his wolvish blood, Charlton dug his hands in his pockets as he walked out of habit, shoulders hunched to be appear deliberately less welcoming. He didn’t want top be stopped, not today. He hurried, well, as much as Charlton ever hurried. It wasn’t hard to speed up - the length of his long strides easily covering far more ground than your average person would even at a brisk trot. He was determined not to be late, not because he was worried of the consequences - but more because this was a meeting he’d been looking forward to for a while.
Noemi was one of his (if not the only) oldest friend Charlton had at Beauxbatons. Others had come and gone in his time here, but Noemi remained the one constant. Admittedly they had not necessarily been consistent in the status of their relationship, they’d had their ups and downs as you’d imagine for two people of their differing personality types. However it was their similarities that held them together, and Charlton recognised a kindred spirit when he saw one. It was for this reason he’d made an effort to keep in touch with her when he’d left Beauxbatons this time round. Last time had been a little out of his control, but it hadn’t hurt Noemi any less, and he did like to keep the fiery red head happy. A happy Noemi was infectious. Although Noemi hadn’t seen much of his family when she had stayed for short break in Ireland with him, she had bumped into his eldest brother Mickey…and it had been a rather surreal experience to see even his surly older sibling offer his friend a bright smile.
She’d also been the first person, and possibly the only one to be completely open and honest with him when he’d returned after his memory loss. Even offered to help, which with her fun loving, flighty nature he knew would have been a big offer. Luckily he’d recovered it himself after a few months, though he couldn’t say that coming back to the world of Charlton had been a totally warming experience. Perhaps not knowing was sometimes better. He slowed as he reached the agreed meeting point, the bench by the oak tree and settled down to wait for her.
