you're a human too
tell your shadow what to do
don't let it get away
[/blockquote][/blockquote]It’d been a while since Ronan had been given an opportunity to get away from the castle. Even if only for a little while. Earlier he’d been pulling out bits and pieces from his trunk, looking for something to read and hadn’t stopped until he was successful. Something on the environment? He wasn’t sure. All he knew was that he wanted to read something, anything, unrelated to school and that was the first book he’d gotten a hold of. He’d also been practically abused in a hallway by his older sister. She’d literally thrown another book at him as she bolted past calling behind her, “take it back to the library when you’re done!” He was lucky enough to have caught it rather than it hitting him square in the face. Either she genuinely thought that he’d like the book (which was nice in itself that she’d taken note of what her brother liked) or she was being lazy and didn’t want to take it back herself. He pulled a quizzical expression, took a quick glance at the cover of the book –faries- and decided he’d give her the benefit of the doubt.
He sat himself right beside the body of water with his shoes and socks strewn across the lakes rocky exterior. Flipping through the pages of the book (or weapon) that his sister had leant him, he decided right there and then that he’d have to have a good look at it. There were notes from the previous owner (or borrower) scrawled over each page in ink… Pretty neat, really. Ronan had always been into reading. Moreso than anyone else in his family. And his quiet, reserved yet playful personality was the total opposite of his sister. Sure, he’d have moments of “trisyness” but he was able to put a lid on it when the situation called for it. It’d been that way since they were young… Ronan would always have to calm Aislin down because she’d get overexcited. There were so many instances where this was the case. Of coooouurrrseeee, she wasn’t always psycho… And he always made her out to be a lot worse than she was, as brothers do.
Every now and again passing voices would distract him from his book and he’d look up and over his surroundings. People watching. Almost as good as reading. He smiled at a couple who were laughing with one another. Laughter was the best thing ever… Especially when the person had an unusual laugh and one half of this duo did. Oh boy did they. He wasn’t even sure how to describe it. Half animal half… something? After a while he couldn’t help but have a laugh at them. Probably not the kindest thing… How could the girl help the way she was laughing? That being said, it WAS pretty horrendous. He had to make an effort to compose himself as they walked past together, the girl continuing her inhuman chortling. He must have a thing for weird laughs… Ronan thought to himself as he watched them disappear. How was he meant to get back to what he was doing after that performance?! The boy was in no mood to sit and read anymore. He scanned the place, hoping to see a familiar face.
