ADDICTED TO THE FUTURE
[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 355px;]The day seemed to be ending as quickly as it had begun. Mórrígan hadn't slept much last night and, now, it was after dinner the next day and she had a feeling that she wasn't going to get much sleep again. Instead, she had taken to having a wander around the school. She'd finally heard from her mother in regards to her things and it was just going to be another couple of days and then she would be able to attend class. Honestly, she was really looking forward to that.
Getting back to classes will be another step in getting back to normality. Another step she was thinking about taking was getting herself onto the Quidditch team. She'd always felt more adjusted to playing Quidditch than pretty much anything else, which was strange considering the rest of her family didn't seem to have much of an interest in the sport. She was an avid fan and actually really missed playing. She would look into it eventually.
Right now, she was heading up to the clock tower, the loud ticking echoing in her ears as she approached. It was a very repetitive sound, but it was actually quite soothing. It was a good place to sit and think – actually, a lot of places in the palace and outside of it for that matter were relatively good places to think. Everything always seemed so peaceful around here, regardless of whether or not there were masses of students milling around or something.
She brushed her hands up her forearms, pushing the sleeves of her dress back up as she entered the main area of the clock tower, bright hazel eyes lifting and scanning around. This was yet another place that had so many memories. This place was so full of them – it was a wonder she'd been able to keep herself away for so long when, in reality, all she had really needed was to come back here for everything to start flooding back in varying waves. |

With everything going on in her life, it wasn’t that unusual to find Leah reminiscing over the way things used to be. She was walking the halls of the castle, heading to the towers to spend some time in peace with the night. Going all the way back to her first day at the school up until her party with Charlton the other night, Leah was trying to comb the thoughts of her mind for some sort of indication of when things just went completely and utterly wrong. Her life never used to be this way. Her first few months at the school were full of new friends and new classes to attend she never had before. The small Muggle born was thrown into a world she had never experienced and loved every single second within it. She met Daniel her first few months of school and they were married not even 3 months later. It was crazy to think how much her life had changed since she arrived at Beauxbatons.
It was also crazy to think about how much her life had changed for the worst. Daniel was killed and she was left alone. Rue came into her life, swept her off her feet, and got her to feel normal and in love once again. Just when she thought things couldn’t be any more perfect, her mother passed away and she was forced to return home to England to be with her father. A week into her stay, her mind started telling her Rue would be better off without her and she stayed in England for a year, even trying out Hogwarts for school so she wouldn’t be too behind in her education. Obviously, it had not worked out. Hogwarts sucked compared to Beauxbatons and, she hated to admit it at the time, but her heart yearned for Rue and she needed to return.
She walked up the steps of the tower and she laughed at the thought of her return. Her return hadn’t been smooth. If anything, it brought her more pain and anguish than losing her mother had. Rue wanted nothing to do with her and he didn’t even bother telling her himself. It was more of him ignoring all over the letters she wrote him and Leah trying desperately to get his attention so she could explain. Charlton told her she should move on and she agreed, but that didn’t mean she was okay with leaving things with Rue as they were right now. Things needed to at least be civil between them, but he wasn’t willing to let that be it seemed.
She opened the door slowly and she was surprised to see a brunette standing in the center of the Clocktower. She had come here to reminisce some more as this was the place Daniel had proposed to her…the happiest day of her life besides their wedding day. And how strange was it that standing before her was the very girl who had planned their beautiful lake-side wedding, her old friend Mórrígan. ”Morgs?”
[/b] she asked, wanting to make sure it really was her friend before embracing her in a hug. It would be far too awkward to hug a complete and total stranger. ADDICTED TO THE FUTURE
[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 355px;]Mórrígan hasn't expected anyone to come up to the clock tower – all of the other students she seemed to have passed seemed to be scuttling about getting to classes and the like, most of whom didn't have the time to take in the surrounding in this place and the scenery of the grounds below from up here. She had thought, aside from the obvious noises of the clock ticking and tocking away, she would find some absolute peace and quiet up here, but apparently not.
She heard the soft sound of a girl's laughter, getting closer as whoever it was ascended the stairs, looking over her shoulder, her eyes shifting to the doorway for a moment. She recognised that laugh, didn't she? She scowled slightly, wrapping her arms around herself and turning her head back to face front. Whoever it was was getting closer and she would soon find out if it was someone she was supposed to know, considering the back of her head told her that she should simply based on the laugh.
Her scowl faded and she began chewing the inside corner of her bottom lip as she lifted her bright hazel eyes to look around, taking a couple of slow, short steps forward, turning slightly in order to look around. Her eyes dropped as the doors opened, finally bringing herself to face the door as the girl spoke, questioning her name. She knew she had been away for a hell of a long time, but she hadn't thought she would change enough that her friends would question her face.
“That'd be me,” she replied brightly, a broad smile spreading across her mouth as she took in the sight of her old friend, Leah. She shrugged slightly, her head tilting a little and her hands falling away from being wrapped around her, fingers interlacing with each other awkwardly as she remained slightly frozen to the spot. She wasn't entirely sure what the practice was for greeting old friends, particularly when you felt as awkward as she did. |
