At Mathew's remark about finding another informant, Jarod turned with an arched brow at the informant who was standing next to him. All he knew about Mathew was what Rachele had told him. Apparently she had left some things out. He turned back to face Mathew. "I might have to, but I've had my informant for a while now. I don't think I could let her go," he said. He was curious as to whether or not Rachele had left things out on purpose, but regardless he trusted what she had told him about Mathew. He was also still glad to have the opportunity to meet him. When Meera added her agreement to Mathew's statement, he smiled. "I don't think my informant has problems with trouble. Maybe that's why it was left out. I'll keep an eye out for that," he told Meera.
Hearing the exchange between Rachele and Kabriel made him smile. Apparently, he was not the only one to be kept from someone he had wanted to meet. The suggestions for his nicknames were not ones he'd been called before, and he never really had any complaints about nicknames given to him except for his mother's. That was something he kept to himself though. "Either of those is fine with me. They aren't ones I've been called before, so they shall be reserved for you," he said with a smile. "Rachele calls me Jarjar, so having something made out of the last bit of my name would be nice too." Jarod quite liked Kabriel. She was very easy to talk to, and she seemed quite happy to meet the two of them. Plus, her energy was quite infectious.
The next moment, another female came up to the group. He did not know her either, but that wasn't unusual for him. She introduced herself and Mathew introduced them all. "Indeed-pleasure to meet you all," he added after Morrigan and Meera. Then, he handed Rachele her umbrella as he went to put their things with the rest. The spread was quite nice, and everything looked wonderful. It smelled good too. He remained standing as the others came over and sat with a space next to him for Rachele. His eyes crinkled in a smile as he listened to the banter going on between them all. It was a very merry gathering.
He looked over at Rachele to see how she was doing with everything. It was probably quite difficult for her right now for a couple of reasons, and he gave her a reassuring smile. He was here for her, and with all the other plans that seemed to be in the works, he felt sure that they were in for quite a day and that it would be a lot of fun. "Adventuring sounds good to me," he said rejoining the conversation of the group. "It's been ages since I've played hide and seek, but it sounds like fun." It had been one of his favorite games when he was younger, and when he saw his cousins they used to ask him to play with them. However, he hadn't seen them for a while. There just hadn't been much of an opportunity to visit. If they did indeed end up playing, Jarod would have a lot of fun.
When Kabriel asked about how long he'd known Rachele, he had to think for a moment about how to answer it. Finally, he responded. "I met her once when my family was doing business with hers. That was back when I was five. We didn't see each other again until I started at Beauxbatons. That was about two years ago." He gave a look of affection to his friend. "She's been a handful ever since then, but then again so have I."
Note: I feel like this post was a little scattered. Sorry.

Rachele answered the raised brow she received from Jarod with a slight shrug of her shoulders. Then, she calmly started to twist her hair into a braid as they continued talking about Jarod's need for a new informant. She had told him what she saw in Mathew. The things that went around the castle weren't things that she repeated. Besides, she knew that Mathew was a 'ball of trouble' as Meera had put it. The thing was that she rather liked trouble herself. It wasn't something that she would warn Jarod about since she could be that way herself. She was a bit mischievous despite her outside appearance. Of course, that side had to be brought out since normally she was a shy person.
Had she been able to blush, she certainly would've at Kabriel's comment about meeting her and about her name being too pretty to shorten. "Yes, really. And yes Mathew. Why keep us apart?" she asked turning her eyes to him for a moment. They glittered and smirked at him before she turned back to Kabriel. "Thank you for the compliment. I've always loved yours." When she heard Jarod and Kabriel discuss his possible names, she had to smile. Then, when Jarod mentioned what she called him, she rolled her eyes. "Yes, but I gave you that name when you were five. It just stuck." She loved Kabriel already; it hadn't been that long, and she could just tell that they were going to get along quite well.
When another girl came up, Rachele found herself getting a little shy again, but she quickly shook it off. The girl was quite pretty, and she felt as though she had seen her about. After she said her name, that thought was confirmed. She had been in a leadership position before. Mathew introduced everyone, and she smiled around at the circle. "It's wonderful to meet you all," she said happily. Her eyes twinkled as she looked around the group. Mathew had such nice friends and a nice cousin. Watching how Kabriel interacted with her cousins made here a little wistful. It was really nice to see a family like that.
Hearing Mathew's stomach made her giggle. There was definitely no hiding that he was hungry. She smiled softly when he gave her a wink and let out a little laugh. "Not long judging by your stomach's noise," she told him teasingly. She knew what he really meant, but she also liked to tease him a bit too. After all, he did it to her all the time. She accepted the umbrella from Jarod and followed as they all went over to the food. The food did look, but she knew that she couldn't eat. Carefully she sat down next to Jarod and stuck her umbrella at an angle where she was still covered but could see everyone. She saw Jarod smile her direction, and she smiled back. He was worried about her, but so far she felt fine. Her eyes turned to Mathew, and watched him for a moment.
Her attention was brought back to the others when she heard some mention of adventure. She looked down at her clothes; she wasn't really dressed for it, but that never stopped her. "I'm game for anything," she said. "Though, I don't know that I'm dressed for anything." When Kabriel began speaking to Jarod, Rachele turned to Morrigan. She was a little nervous, but she did like talking to new people. Besides, Morrigan seemed like someone she could really get along with and hopefully befriend. "You and Kabriel are cousins huh? Has the always been so lively?" she asked with a smile. As she finished asking her question, she caught the very end of what Jarod was saying. Keeping her attention on Morrigan, she gave him a light shove. "No idea what you're talking about," she said.

The Cossu crinkled his eyebrows together as Kabes forced the three of them into the worlds most strange ‘family’ hug. Wait! Was he and Morrigan related? If that was true then their strange relationship needed to have a lot over covering up and explaining done. Mathew was grateful that Morrigan was the one who mentioned that she and he were not related. It was a relief to discover that they were in fact not related. ”and thank god for that!” he exclaimed when the dark haired beauty refuted Kabes’ claim. Kabes attached herself to him, her thin arms felt like a leech. He rolled his eyes at her. However, Mathew did not budge into Kabes and Morrigan’s spat about Kabes drinking Butterbeer. He had asked her not to butt into his choices and for once he was not going to get in the middle of hers. That was not something he was going to touch.
"I don't know what you two are going on about..." Thankfully, Mathew’s obscure sunglasses hid his shifty gaze when Rachele and Kabes tag teamed him. It wasn’t his fault for keeping his cousin and Rachele apart. Well… it might have been a conscious effort on his part. His cousin tended to stick her nose into situations and muddle up what was already there. That was the exact reason that Mathew had given a warning to his cousin to behave today. He didn’t need Kabriel trying to play matchmaker with any girl. Especially not with Rachele. Mathew was able to sort his own life out without the assistance of his younger cousin.
With Rachele mentioning her outfit not being suitable for adventuring, it gave him an opportunity to subtly eye her. The hem of her light blue dress hit just right and it was almost as if she had meaningfully matched their outfits together. Mathew shook his head at the young witch’s comments. Sometimes it was like the students at Beauxbatons Academy of Magic forgot that they were witches and wizards. The world was at their finger tips and that fact seemed to slip their minds. Mathew never overlooked that detail of his life. Magic was all around him in his life, he used it in everything that he did. He would probably be lost without it.
There was no more waiting to eat for the young Cossu. The stomach wants what the stomach wants. His eyes scanned over the choices. He would have to sample everything but he would start off with sandwiches that Morrigan had brought with her. Mathew attention flickered to the other boy at the picnic. It took all of Mathew’s willpower not to plaster on his famous condescending smirk. ”Don’t I know it...” he trailed off ”just a handful” Mathew tore off a piece of the sandwich that he picked out from the plate. He had always been a fan of sandwiches, more than most typical person. So tasting the breaded food made him delighted. Through his elated bite he had almost forgot that he had brought food with him as well.
From his backpack directly behind him he pulled out a plate of tropical and domestic fresh fruit along with greek yogurt and chocolate to dip it in. Mathew peered into the abyss of his backpack to ensure that he had remembered everything when he spotted the only thing left in his bag. He removed the small opaque carafe that he had brought for Rachele. It truly wasn’t fair of them to divulge if she didn’t get to as well. He had made a special trip to the detaillant for the spiced blood drink. Mathew did his best to make it inconspicuous as he handed Rachele, who was sitting directly next to him, the flask while she spoke to Morrigan about Kabriel. Mathew's eyes shifted down to the present good when he could get her attention to alert her that he had indeed brought that for her.
Mathew was grateful for his decision. The group was a wonderful mixture of hyperness, dry sarcasm and teasing. Now that he was feeding himself, it was time for the third degree with the new kid. ”So, Jarjar, may I call you Jarjar?” Mathew joked playfully ”Now, give me the deets… you know basics. Hometown? House? Year? Hobbies?’ Mathew implored for the young one to inform him all that he needed to know. As Mathew waited for him to inform him, he grabbed one of the sandwiches that Jarod had brought.

Aislin was so excited to have been invited to Mathew’s gathering! She wasn’t invited to very many things. Sometimes she felt like she was kind of a spot-filler. Like, people enjoyed her company, but wouldn’t go to great lengths to invite her to things. So this was very special for the Cossu girl. She’d been instructed to bring a plate of something. ”But what?” She thought to herself. This was of upmost importance. She needed to bring something everyone would enjoy, not simply herself. “There’s always… Well, I could bring fairy bread… Or would that be a bit weird?” She pulled at her long coloured hair. That had been her favourite party food as a child. Not because of it’s name, but because of the colourful hundres and thousands that made the bread they sat on look exciting! ”Yeah,” she thought, ”I’ll do just that!” Well, sweeeeeet! Everything was sorted. She’d already figured out what she was going to wear in her excitement the night before, all she had to do was ask the kitchen elves nicely if they might make up some fairy bread for her and the group.
She smiled as she held the plate of sweets in her hands. The kitchen elves were so lovely. So chirpy and smiley and Aislin loved that about people. She wasn’t sure how to act around people when they were upset. That was her brother’s area of expertise. Strange that she, a female, should not get the nurturing disposition like her brother did. Sure! She was great at looking after animals and loved them to bits. She had so much love to give. But when it came to people being sad, well, she just wasn’t sure what to do with herself. Whether she should hug them… Whether she should give them space… As she wandered towards Celestial Peak, a beautiful little spot, she took in the warmth and the sunshine and wondered who would be there. Mathew, clearly! But, who else… She hoped she’d know someone. She’d not known Mathew for very long at all, so maybe he had a different friend group? She wasn’t all that sure. Oh well, time to make new friends! She smiled to herself and kept on.
After a time she came to the clearing and saw the group. This gave her even more reason to smile and soon she found herself walking briskly towards them. If there was anything Aislin was unable to do, it was contain her glee. She’d always been incredibly excitable and it was always super visible to anyone watching. Usually people lost that trait when they reached the age of 10; when they didn’t have to be the first to get to a lolly or a ride in case it magically disappeared. Kabes! She could see Kabes. How did she not know her friend would be there? “Hey!” She called out to them, pushing her hair behind her right ear. Her warm brown eyes arched into crescent moon shapes happily as she sat down, crossing her legs. “I brought these….” Aislin added, unsurely. “I don’t know if you’ll like them, but they’re a definite necessity for any celebratory type gathering thingie”, she laughed. She played with the plastic wrap covering them and introduced herself to the unfamiliar faces; “I’m Aislin!”

Kabes, you’re such a doll. Meera laughed, her sweet southern tone clear, as she let he head rest momentarily against Kabriels where it lay on her shoulder. It seemed that most of the introductions had finally been done and the group were all familiars, by name if nothing else. Mathew’s witty comment about keeping the beast at bay had seemed to have acknowledged everyone’s hunger and already they were taking places atop the red and white checkered picnic blanket. As the rest of the group settled, Kabriel readjusted herself settling on her knees before turning to ask her question. Morrigan was quick to respond by asking if she thought it was really a good idea and Meera couldn’t help but to laugh. Of the lot of them it was clear that Kabriel had the most enthusiasm, but that was the reason Meera loved her so. You know I’d slip you a drink even if he did disprove. With a wink she grabbed a bottle of butterbeer from the center of the blanket and lightly tossed it to her golden haired friend. Would anyone else like one? she asked, as she grabbed one for herself.
Along with the butterbeer she delighted herself with some of the other goodies that were spread across the blanket, helping herself to a small sandwich from the tray before her. Now that all the food was set before them she realized that she was famished. Should an adventure be at hand, she figured she ought to be well fed. Of course Kabriel was the first to respond to her comment about adventure, throwing in hide and seek as an idea. Jarrod commented on how long it’d been since he played, but that he too was willing to go for a game. I’m not really dressed for adventure either. She said, with sudden realization when all the girls spoke up about their lack of proper attire. She, herself, was dressed in a short blue skirt with only gladiator sandals. When it came down to it though, she wasn’t particularly bothered. But it a game of hide and seek after all. As long as everyone promises not get to rough, I think we might be okay. she said with a smile.
Meera sat quietly as the conversation passed between Mathew and the two girls, before he again turned his attention to Rachelle’s companion. She listened just as eagerly as though she’d asked the questions herself. She couldn’t help but squeal in delight when Mathew pulled a plate full of fresh fruit from his bag. Realizing that her delight had been uncalled for, she bit her lip before offering a small apology to the group. Sorry, didn’t mean to overwhelm you all with my excitement. She said, reaching to grab some fruit from the tray. Fruit was her guilty pleasure. Seriously though, I’m so excited I could kiss you. She teased, turning her attention on Mathew before settling back into her spot on the blanket.
Her attention was once more pulled from the group on the blanket as she noticed an oncoming stranger. The girl was slight with dark hair and quickly settled into the group. She didn’t recognize the girl, but again she really wasn’t surprised. Considering that of the group Mathew and Kabriel were the only two who she knew. Nice to meet you Aislin. I’m Meera. I don’t think I’ve ever had that before but I’m up to try anything.
