[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,300,true] i don't want this moment to end
... The door slammed open allowing Astrid's things to continue their trek into the empty classroom. Wand in hand she followed her luggage not soon after brushing a bit of sweat from her brow. Her almost three week excursions around the many beautiful places in South America should have given her enough exercise to make it up all the steps of the schools (not to mention her many years of experience) but she still found herself tired. The trip had been way more of a vacation than anything and she'd grown much too accustomed to an easy lifestyle. Leaning against the door she allowed herself a breather while the luggage continued to float up the stairs landing with a thud at the top. Two french doors flung open and they zoomed inside.
Tucking her wand away Astrid removed her overcoat, flinging it carelessly over the edge of a chair. It would have been much easier if she'd used the fireplace from the lounge to her classroom but it would have made too much noise. Plus she was in too much of good mood to bust any students that evening. Taking a deep breath Astrid glanced around the room, which had been in use in her absence, caused a smile to form on her lips. It was no secret that she had missed her home. The books, the view of the grounds and the lake. Walking around the room she took in all the familiar sights not aware that she was being watched. Just as she turned around to shut the door a large creature flung itself at her, digging it's claws into her forearm.
"Ouch!" she shouted, grabbing the thing be the scruff of it's neck. Lights flipped on, blinding her for a second before she adjusted to the brightness. Blinking a few times she looked at the wriggling mass in her hand. Bernie hung there looking at her with the most human excitement she'd ever seen on any animal. "What are you doing you little devil?" she asked him and held him in her arms. He's soft sable colored fur shivered under her touch as her purred loudly, rubbing his face against her chin. "Well I'm missed you too." Hugging him closely she couldn't help but feel guilty even if he did just slash her arm. She meant to take him with her but the fear that he'd run off or get sick worried her too greatly. Obviously he'd been treated well not only by her substitute teacher but by the students as well.
"I am sorry I left you Bernie," she told him amidst his increasing purring, "I have brought you lots of treats and toys though. Well, you'll have to thank Joshua for them really. He picked most of them out and bought a few." Sighing, Astrid smiled at the thought. She could remember as if it happened only a second ago. He'd been way too excited then but it was endearing on him. Charming. They'd spent hours picking out gifts and even longer trying to narrow them down. She couldn't remember having so much fun, not even as a child. The whole trip had brought out a side of her she'd never had the courage to explore, to understand. Joshua, however, did. The whole time he challenged her, made her feel like she always should have. She was downright giddy at the sudden rush of memories especially when she thought of a certain one.
Astrid was still clueless as to what he saw in her that was so wonderful, but she wasn't about to allow any doubts to ruin the moment. She was his girlfriend and she loved it...even if it was still weird to say. "I think you'll like him, Bern. He's really sweet." Grinning like a fool she let Bernie jump down from her arms. It seemed that his affection had gone back to normal and he was no longer interested in the bonding.
Walking over to her desk, she sat down in the chair, leaning back comfortably. They'd parted ways when she'd approached the steps of the castle but it had been bittersweet. While she knew he wasn't going anywhere they'd been in each other's company for so long it was hard for her to keep her mind from wandering. Twirling the chair around Astrid folded her legs ups indian-style, closed her eyes, and simply thought. |

take you away, SOMEONE'S GOING TO FOOL YOUR HEART & |
[/div] Joshua hadn't seen Astrid for what felt like forever. He missed her, that much was obvious. When they had parted ways, he felt a little bit of himself go with her. He took her to South America for two weeks and those two weeks had been incredible. At first, things seemed to be more friendly, attempting to ignore that attraction that was so evident between them. He knew as well as she that if something happened and things didn't go according to plan, they would both be in for struggle and failure. He wanted to be careful with how he treated Astrid, not wanting her to run off screaming from his romantic style. He had taken her on a boat ride into the middle of lake and they had coasted, resting against one another. That had been the idea of the entire trip: a closeness that could only happen in the movies. He remembered the smell of her hair as she rested her head against his chest and he remembered the sensation he felt with their lips touched for the first time. Everything was like a dream to him, and he certainly appreciated her willingness to accompany him. She certainly had changed, perhaps making up for all those times she had turned him down. He ran a hand through his hair as he lazed in bed. He glanced over at the calendar beside his bed and smiled when he saw the day. It was a working night for him, but the morning and afternoon remained a mystery. He grinned and knew exactly what he wanted to do. He hadn't seen Astrid for what felt like ages when in all honesty it had only been a few days. Something like their connection seemed to be almost surreal that when they parted, it just didn't seem quite right. He got himself out of bed, stretching as he did so before he searched for a clean shirt to wear for the day. He grabbed the crisp slim fit and buttoned it while he searched for a vest. Something a little more sharp would probably help him out in the long run. As he grabbed the nearest herringbone, he rolled up his sleeves and found a tie to sling around his neck. He'd do it up on the way. He stuffed his strong legs into his pants and put some shoes on his feet before making sure he knew what he was doing. His spontaneity only went so far before some planning got involved. He wanted to surprise her, make it feel as though they had never flown back to France, back to their daily lives. He wanted to make her feel like they could still have those little moments that were only theirs and no one else's. Grabbing his bag and making sure he was stocked with wizard and muggle money, he made his way out of the Rue de Paradis and onto the cobble-stoned streets of Paris. On that bright morning, the streets were ablaze with fashionistas, couples and tourists. He looked this way and that before he made his way into the hustle and bustle of weekend mornings. He smiled when he spotted his destination (as over the top as it was), and opened the door to Tiffany & co. He slid into the shop, immediately feeling the silence around him and made his way around the store until he found a necklace that seemed... simple, but beautiful. Like Astrid, he knew. He didn't want to get her something that would go out of style, he wanted her to have something that would last her for a while - whether or not they did, together. He spent a good thirty minutes in the store and ended up leaving with a lighter wallet than he entered with. Josh glanced down at the red box and popped it open, smiling at the sparkling white gold chain that lay there on the cushion. He hoped she would love it. Little things were what made Joshua who he was, and he wondered whether or not Astrid had gotten used to it yet. While they were away, Josh had had a few things up his sleeve... one night surprising her with a candle lit dinner on the deck of their ocean side cabin at their resort near the jungle. It had been a wonderful evening, despite the bugs. As Josh slipped the necklace into his bag, he spotted a flower merchant alongside the Seine and he stopped and picked out a velvety red rose. He pulled out some of his euros and paid the man who nodded with a smile, a cheerful Merci! exchanged between them. Josh was ready to see his beloved, knowing full well that this would be a surprise to her. He figured she would be in her office since she was so engrossed in work all the time. He wandered back tot he Rue and then towards the portkey that would take him to the school. He hoped that staff wouldn't mind his entrance... although it wasn't like he hadn't been there before - visiting Tzarina or Joseph. He was suddenly curious as to how the maiden was doing at this time, since he hadn't seen her since her return was official. He cleared his throat as he began walking up to the school. He managed to spot some familiar faces of students who frequented the Couru, and as he wandered into the school, he guided himself up some stairs and into the hallway where the professors' offices were held. Searching, he found the correct one. Instead of knocking, he quietly turned the golden knob and peered inside. He spotted the blonde angel sitting casually on her chair and he smiled. Opening the door a little wider, he took a quick steps towards her and snuck behind her chair. Of course she had seen him by this point, but that didn't stop the surprise as he leaned in behind her and planted a soft kiss on her cheek, holding out the rose in front of her. "Did you miss me?" he said cheekily before kissing her softly. TAGGED: astrid llwewllyn NOTES: omg new template :o [/div][/td][/tr][/td][/tr][/table][/center]

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,300,true] i don't want this moment to end
... A soft scratching noise echoed around the room as Astrid, engrossed in work once more, scribbled away at her desk. The day had barely begun but she knew better. If she ever wanted to get a full day of work done she'd have to start early. Dressed in a coral frock and a pair of black pumps she was entirely ready for the day ahead. Save for the distraction of her new love of course. Sighing, she looked up from her work and took a few moments to recall their recent trip. Almost a week had passed and she still couldn't keep her head out of their vacation. She'd prepared herself for a life changing time but the fact that she'd left with Joshua as friends and had come back something more made her head spin. In a good way.
Placing her fist under her chin, Astrid noted, again, how romantic he was. Something she definitely hadn't known the extent of until their exotic excursion. She'd never known someone to be so...good in all her life. Though he was partly a planner, like her, his spontaneity was refreshing and often left her kicking herself for not letting him in back at school. Leaning back in her chair she watched the trees from the open window. The swished and swayed in the wind, a few green leaves fluttering away from their wooden homes. It'd snowed not long ago but now it seemed as if winter had never come. A smile pulled at the corner of her mouth as more memories flooded into her mind.
Barely half and hour had passed before the low creak of her door broke her concentration. His footsteps, light and sneaky, filled the silent room. She'd detected him the minute he'd entered but let him surprise her anyway. He touched her shoulders which instantly made her smile, as did his continued affection.
Returning his kiss, she swiveled around in her chair and looked up at him. "Did you miss me?" he asked her, a smirk gracing his features. Setting down her quill Astrid nodded enthusiastically, "Very much." she told him, matching his cheeky tone, standing up to embrace him. Leaning back, she fiddled with his half-done tie. Obviously the man had been much too distracted to do it up properly. "How about yourself?" she asked him, smoothing a wrinkle from his shirt. Though he was, for the most part, still his old self from their days at school Joshua's style had definitely improved throughout the years. Though he had looked rather dashing in his old uniform if she remembered correctly. |

take you away, SOMEONE'S GOING TO FOOL YOUR HEART & |
[/div] Josh's hands rested lightly above her hips as the two melded together perfectly. For some reason, it hadn't occurred to him to be more direct before his graduation. Of course, given the situation with her friend it made sense that he didn't really pull anything. It would have caused unwanted drama, and besides... if the universe really did have this thing called 'fate' it would certainly apply to this pair of lovers. Both had probably grown up since Hogwarts and because of that they are probably much more suited to one another. Who knows, if they had gotten together at their age before... things would probably have been much different. Many things could happen between schooling and adventure in the world. Josh was grateful for this chance to rekindle whatever attraction had been given to them at school, and now with some experience on either end, it made their relationship so much more smooth. There was the fact that they already had a head start to it, and of course they were still settling into the honeymoon experience of it all. Josh couldn't help thinking to himself that this might be the woman of his dreams, the one who he could easily see himself growing old with. Astrid certainly fit the bill: he really, really adored her and her company. She was intelligent, creative, fun and loved what she did. Even though Josh's job was a linked more to the nightlife, it sort of made for a balance between them. Conflicting schedules and still they manage to see one another, make time for this relationship. They both really wanted it to work, it seemed.
He tucked some hair behind her ear, smiling at its softness when it nestled there. "I'm glad to hear it. I'm sure this school's been running you ragged with work since I stole you away," he joked, hugging her a little closer. He couldn't get enough of her. Her smile, her scent, her style... everything about him complimented her so well and he didn't want to leave her side. Of course, he could handle separation but he loved who he was when he was with her. Josh was never really the jealous type either, he was always more laid back than anything. He would definitely defend any woman if she had done no wrong, and he would always choose the right thing over what he wanted. Josh was very humble and noble. He was a Gryffindor for a reason, after all. Astrid, however, was more subtle than Joshua and he was always curious as to how people managed to keep themselves so calm all the time. Josh needed to almost always be moving or heading somewhere or having a plan on something. Sitting around was never enough for him. A night club provided the perfect opportunity for new experiences every night. At the bar he would play matchmaker for some young lads and in return he'd get a large tip. He'd protect some of the women by kicking out unruly or unwelcome visitors and guests... he was a knight in shining armor at his club. Without knowing it, he had always strived to fit the bill of that Prince Charming character. There was something so fearless and wonderful about him, he simply entranced Josh from the start. He was brave, honest, true... and also devilishly handsome.
"I'm feeling amazing, now that I have you here." he smiled down at her, planting a kiss on her forehead. "One week was way too long." To others, they would look almost picture perfect standing there together. She looked so lovely in her dress, it reminded Josh of the perfect accessory to her outfit. "I got you something today... a sort of welcome home present," he smiled, releasing one of his hands from her waist to unhook his bag and pull out the deep red box. He handed it to her, releasing her and leaning against the chalkboard behind him. He grinned and nodded, "Open it," he said softly, beaming as he awaited her reaction. He hoped now it wasn't too much of a gift for her, it was rather extravagant. But Joshua was rather well off and didn't really do much to hide the fact, either. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,300,true] i don't want this moment to end
... "I do believe you are right. A vacation such as that had ruined all work for me, but I'll manage." Astrid learned quickly just how much Joshua liked to spoil someone. She wasn't complaining of course but she found herself reminding him that she didn't need all of the things he showered on her mostly because she wasn't the type to plan her life on such things but he obviously insisted. It was just how he was. "I'm almost afraid to know what you've got planned next in that head of yours." She leaned in close, thankful for the privacy they had. Astrid didn't mind public affection at all but it'd been so long since she'd had any type of romance she was more shy than normal.
"You are quite the charmer Joshua." She whispered quietly, enjoying being this close to him. Fate was definitely knocking on their door and she could do nothing but thank it. Astrid, an easily cheerful person, wasn't able to say that she hadn't had a wonderful life before since she most certainly had. She had her career, and her books, and a lot of good memories but no one to share it with. Her chances of romantic relationships hadn't been slim but she wasn't the kind to go on a bunch of dates looking for Mr. Right. Looking up at smiling at Joshua, she realized she didn't have to now and hopefully would never have to try. She thought fondly of the future now, what it would bring her and their relationship. "Marriage." Her mother had said the minute she informed her of the relationship; very smooth. Astrid was absolutely not opposed to the idea of marrying Joshua but it seemed the type of thing that'd be easy to discuss after a while.
She nodded once in agreement, "Far too long. Hopefully this weekend we can do something together." Just thinking about going on a date with him, her boyfriend, caused butterflies to erupt in her stomach. It didn't help when he pulled out the velvety red jewelry box from his pocket. "For me? Oh but I didn't get you anything." Had she known that they'd be exchanging gifts she'd surely have one for him. It dawned on Astrid suddenly that the surprise of it all had been the point. Fully grinning from ear to ear now she slowly peeled open the lid, gasping as she pulled the necklace from it cushioning. "Oh my," she said silently. "It's beautiful." Her words were scarce as she tried to search for the right things to say. "You honestly didn't have to...thank you." she told him, tugging him into a hug and kiss. |

take you away, SOMEONE'S GOING TO FOOL YOUR HEART & |
[/div] Laughing heartily, he felt as though they were still on vacation. Just for that moment or two while she was wrapped in his arms, it felt like they were back on the beach in Argentina or on the cobblestoned streets in Brazil. Some things just seemed to be burned into his memory, not that he had any objections. She was just so... wonderful, he kicked himself every time he realized that he could have been feeling this way long ago. However, something inside him told him that it wouldn't have been the same. Even though he wished he could have had more time with her from their youth, traveling the world together, he reminded himself that being with her before could have been wrong, and things couldn't have worked out. Their timing was right where it should have been. He was relieved that things had gone off without a hitch during their retreat, and he hoped to sweep her off her feet again soon. Maybe somewhere to the East, as that territory was so large, there was a chance she had yet to explore some of it. As adventurous as he had been a few years ago, he knew that there were millions of places he had yet to have gone yet. Earth, although a small planet, was vast and full of mysteries. A submarine ride to the depths of the earth certainly wasn't out of the question when it came to adventures with him. "Well, I could always have a word with that boss of yours. Madame Maxime, was it?" he joked, "I could give her a good piece of my mind, working you like a dog without such proper company."
He tapped his cranium knowingly with a flash of a grin, "Ah, but that's the treat. You'll never know when I'll sweep you off your feet again." So light, so carefree. The Joshua from his holidays had swooped into his daily life. It must have something to do with the goddess in front of him, providing him with the means to be more relaxed, and more dorky. It was fun, being dorky and cheesy with her, since it brought a smile to both their lips. He smiled down at her again, releasing her at last. He knew that she needed some space, as he didn't want to smother her all within the first few months of their new found romance. "Isn't that what makes me so loveable?" chuckled as he leaned on the edge of her desk, looking down at her. The two complimented one another rather well - his height at six feet, and her smaller frame... they looked practically picture perfect. With the news of this relationship, his parents certainly thought so. He had yet to tell his younger sister, Beth, of the relationship as he had only just returned and she had only just begun her term at Beauxbatons, but he was hoping to tell her over lunch over the weekend. He smiled at the thought, knowing that Beth would absolutely adore Astrid and her bright smile. He could picture Beth and Astrid bonding over milkshakes and laughing with one another as the latter took them shopping. All those girl things. To be honest, although he knew what women wanted in most cases, he had no idea what girls were like among one another. So there was a chance he could be off about it. After all, he was the one who grew up loving the idea of a whimsical romance that brought his parents together... whereas Beth wasn't like her brother. Despite their difference, the two siblings adored one another and lived to protect the other one. And Josh was certainly the epitome of the over-protective big brother.
"I couldn't agree more. Perhaps a visit to my flat?" he suggested, the gears already spinning in the back of his mind for a rooftop meal that would overlook Paris. The benefit to living on a street full of magic was the view you could have without being spotted by Muggles. He was forever grateful for the low cost of rent and the ability to have more than one floor to his apartment. Magic certainly had its perks. He watched her as he handed her the box, his eyes eagerly awaiting her reaction. Already, her fluster and blush was enough to bring a smile to his lips and a happy light to his eyes. When the case popped open and her smile brightened in surprise, he got up and lifted the necklace out of the box. "I know I didn't have to, but I wanted to." he said softly as he hooked the necklace behind her neck. It rested on her neck and seemed to compliment her well (but what did Josh really know about fashion?). He smiled at her and planted a soft his on her lips once more. It seemed as though the man couldn't get enough of his new... girlfriend. The word, although familiar, seemed to be too simple for whatever was going on between them. He wouldn't complicate things with figuring out another label, so girlfriend would have to do. He leaned back again, this time against the chalkboard and glanced down at his watch, "So how much time do I have with you before those awful students steal you away, again?" he asked, laughing.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,300,true] i don't want this moment to end
... "I think not," she told him under a chuckle, "And have me sacked? I think I can manage without proper company for a few hours." She paused and offered him a cheeky grin, "Though I must admit it is rather difficult." And it was true. Relationships in the beginning were always hard for most people. You wanted to be around that special someone all the time, wanted to spend every waking second with them which proved to be impossible. Everyone needed space even those fresh into the honeymoon stage of things. She wondered briefly if they should have started everything earlier but she quickly chucked away that idea. No. Everything had been, and started, exactly as it should have. She knew that if all of this had happened before it wouldn't have lasted and that thought caused a sharp paint to shoot through her chest.
Looking up she was caught off guard by his confession but soon let a smile chase away her thoughtful frown. "You are full of surprises, Spencer. Exactly how many times do you plan to sweep me off me feet?" Encircling her arms around her body, she watched him, her brown eyes searching his face. "If you want to steal my heart there is no need," a blush crept up her cheeks, "I've already given it to you." Her mothers words were now echoing inside her mind. She could see herself with him for years to come. She could see the children they might have one day, which some people might call her strange for. Those thoughts were coming so fast into her mind that she finding it hard to stop them. Obviously, she'd have to meet his family first and he would have to meet her parents. Unlike Joshua, who had a younger sister, she had no siblings to talk about and thus none to introduce him too.
She had seen his sister, Beth, around the school but had yet to introduce herself. It felt odd to do so without Joshua there. Astrid was still a rather timid character and found that she felt slightly awkward running up to the sibling of her boyfriend. She would wait until the moment presented itself which she felt wasn't that far away. His suggestion of visiting his flat caused her to focus on the situation currently happening and she let out an awful girly giggle.
"I sense another sweeping attempt that I am certainly not opposed to but you must let me treat you to something at some point," she told him, now admiring the necklace that now graced her décolletage. She surrendered to his affections, excited no longer the correct word for what she was feeling. It felt like a moment too good to be true. Astrid had never been able to get over her broken heart but she wondered, now a deep red color, if the warmth somewhere inside her chest cavity was it beginning to mend. Opening her eyes, she noticed the room looked like it'd been doused inside a dream. Things looked fuzzy and she couldn't see clearly. "About fifteen minutes." she told him, and suddenly a tear trailed down her face. "Oh bugger," she said, swearing and wiping at her face. "How does someone cry without realizing it?" She hoped his hadn't noticed until her small outburst just then but she wasn't put much optimism into it. Glancing up, she gave him a smile, "Sorry about that. I guess the moment got to me."
Clearing her throat she placed a hand on her chest and shook her head. "Ok...Better." she announced after a few seconds, "How embarrassing." Flicking a piece of hair from her face, she offered him another smile this one even more genuine than before. "I'm afraid I took 3 of our minutes," she said with a laugh, "Sorry." |

take you away, SOMEONE'S GOING TO FOOL YOUR HEART & |
[/div] Joshua really was quite taken with Astrid now that he thought about it. Thoughts drifted in and out of his mind while he watched her - mostly thoughts containing her and possibly a future. He never really liked to think about anything but the present, but there were times when he wondered if he'd be seeing her as she grew old. He shot her a small, crooked smile at the mention of her getting sacked. It was the last thing he wanted, especially seeing how much she adored what she did. But at the same time, the two would have more free time... he could really, truly shower her with the love and affection she deserved... but the thoughts instantly popped out of his head at the realization of his selfishness. Besides, who'd ever want to fire a professor who was so in love with their job and their students? Joshua thought it absolutely absurd that anyone in their right mind would consider it (meaning Josh probably wasn't in his right mind - enter love daze). "Are you sure?" he teased, dusting off his hands from the chalk. "I'm kidding, of course. But you must take some time off soon. I miss having you all to myself." At this, he took a step forward and wrapped his strong arms around her waist, linking his fingers together behind her back. That most certainly brought them closer together.
He leaned his head against her forehead and with a sly smile, he whispered, "An unmentionable amount of times, Llewellyn. You need to stop asking questions or my whole 'sweeping you off your feet' thing won't be as wondrous," he joked, planting a soft kiss upon her lips before releasing her. He wandered around to the desks in the front row and took a seat in one. He was a little too tall and had a hard time getting comfortable. Regardless, he linked her fingers together atop the table and beamed at her as though he were a young pupil. He raised his hand eagerly, jokingly, "Oh! Oh! Miss Llewellyn, can I go to the loo?" he sort of teased. In the back of his mind, the words Mrs. Spencer crossed slowly, but he bit his tongue to prevent himself from giving it away. He really was jumping the gun this time, that much he was sure. He didn't normally think this way - so drastically with all the assumptions and the ideas of his future with a woman. Most of the time he lived in the moment with her, whirlwind surprises, adventures and of course, the must-have romance. Again, the idea of love consumed him until he knew exactly what he was looking for. And for whatever reason, Astrid possessed every single quality he wasn't even sure he was looking for. It was a surprise, encountering her in the streets one afternoon and realizing their close proximity, finding her charming and alluring and sweeping her entirely off her feet with a wondrous trip to South America that both of them had enjoyed. He had intended to start and finish the trip as friends, intent to woo her once they were back at work, but it had only been hours before the two had really fallen for one another (honestly seeing more of the hotel than the sights some days).
Her heart. What a treasured possession. It was true that he had given her his own moments after they had decided that they could no longer be just friends. Perhaps even before that, he couldn't really tell. Things were moving so quickly, and it helped that the two were both happy with what they did. It made for a much more stable relationship, he thought. He walked up to her and took both of her hands in his. They were so soft, supple and yet firm - he took them together and placed them upon his chest over his heart. It beat into both their hands, slowly speeding up when their hands intertwined. "There is no doubt in my mind that this belongs to you," he gave her a slow smile, the kind that he really wanted her to see. He really wanted her to know that he wasn't kidding around and that this was serious - he really did give her his heart and he was trusting her with it entirely.
"A trip to my flat? A treat? You're mad!" he laughed, giving her fingers a squeeze and kissing the palm of each hand. "It's just a place to eat, sleep and read essentially. But I have a feeling you might really like it. Perhaps I'll even invite Beth so you can meet her properly. I'm not so sure she knows about us quite yet." he shot Astrid a wink, knowing for sure that they'd hit it off and become instant friends. Something about both girls in his life made the man incredibly happy. Especially since they were both too beautiful for words - their personalities shone in different regards, as was their physical beauty.
A few moments later he noticed her eyes shining. He furrowed his brow. Had he done something wrong? Perhaps she didn't want to meet his sister, or perhaps she just changed her mind about the whole ordeal. He still trusted her to not break his heart, mostly because something was telling him these were tears of joy - not sadness. His confused, desperate desire to help immediately evaporated when she mentioned her reasons. His eyes softened and he reached an arm around over her shoulders, bringing her close once again. "Killing three of our minutes isn't a huge deal," he said softly, "We'll have plenty of time this weekend if you want to come by. Maybe stay over so you don't have to deal with that blasted portkey." he added with a hopeful smile. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,300,true] i don't want this moment to end
... She had to admit that he was right. Work, as much as it was her passion, took more than away from their budding romance than she liked. "Well since the term is ending soon, we can run off onto another adventure," she paused and offered him a sly grin, "of my choosing this time, of course." She'd been thinking of a trip to an Island for a few days and the thought of basking in all the rich culture with someone as appreciative and caring as Joshua sent tingles down her spine. It was all such a new feeling and though she wasn't new to the game, her heart had never felt such things before. It was extremely comforting to say the least. To know she wasn't broken, or sad and that she could love such a breathtaking person. Yes, love.
"You forget my dear, I am a naturally inquisitive person." Running her fingers down the side of her face, she grinned as his head touched down on hers. "I assure that no matter how to try, it'll always be wondrous." Welcoming his soft display of affection she frowned when he suddenly released her from his hold but the frustration did not last. With the attitude of a school boy he frantically waved his hand in the air. "You really are a child sometimes. And no, you may not go to the loo."
Leaning on the edge of her desk, she watched him for a few minutes. Thoughts seemed to have stolen him away again but she didn't mind. It was always fascinating for, watching him think. Sometimes she wondered what went on inside his mind but then she was grateful that she couldn't. He was like a puzzle and she wanted to figure him out. No hints, no help, just be with him for ages. It was then that she seriously considered marriage. Before it'd been a mere dream-like thought. A question really. Did she want to marry him? Did she want to watch his face and mind age along with hers? And even though she was probably moving too fast, hoping too much, the answer, in the most serious way, was without a doubt yes.
She did want all those things and not just with someone. She wanted them with Joshua Spencer. He just had to ask her. Or she could ask him but she didn't think that was really the style of such a romantic man. No, she was sure that when, and if, he did decide that she was the one to marry he'd do it on his own terms. That whole shebang and more. And their were families to meet of course (her mother certainly reminded her of that a lot.) Her eyes followed their hands as he guided them to his chest. A blush crept up her neck, heating up her cheeks. It was just a perfect moment she was sure that either she'd become really blessed or someone upstairs was pulling the greatest joke of all time.
Looking up into his laughing face she nodded eagerly. "I've yet to really see it. I bet it's lovely though." It was no secret that every woman, every where, had a natural curiosity when it came to the look of a mans living space and Astrid was no exception. It wasn't that she wanted to snoop through his things (the thought had crossed her mind though), she just wanted to see how he lived. Looking around her room she realized how much of an organized mess she was. Books, cages, boxes, and more were strewn across the room. Ancient old scrolls and texts were stacked in large piles in all corners of the room. Plants hung all around, her large ivy plant growing wildly along the stone walls. She wondered then what he thought of how she lived. It was possible that the sight was slightly off-putting but he'd known since their days at school that she'd never been that well organized or neat.
Turning her attention back to him she nodded. "That would be fantastic! I'd love to meet her." Chewing on her lip she gave him a smile, "Maybe next term she'll even sign up for Care of Magical Creatures." It was nerve racking, meeting his sister. Yes, she was a teenager and Astrid had no about that she would be a very nice girl but she'd never met a man family before. This would certainly be interesting. "Maybe if you're good I'll stay over. Though, Bernie has to come as well." The half-kneazle had suddenly glided over, wrapping himself around their ankles. Looking up, it gave them both a long stare before bounding off in search of food. |
