Josh ran a hand through his hair as he stared at his reflection in the mirrors along the walls of one of the VIP booths. He quickly wiped down the table again before heading back out into the main room of the club. It was a popular spot for students on all-ages nights and for adults on nights where he pulled an American move, not letting in those who are under the age of twenty. He was hoping to see his friend Joseph Barrington before the opening that evening because he needed to talk to him about... well, life. The two had been best friends at Hogwarts, sharing a group of friends and a house together. They were nearly inseparable, and almost complete opposites. Josh was more of the calm one who secretly had spontaneous desires, and Joseph was just more outgoing all together. Josh had had a small crush on his elder sister in his youth before growing out of it, learning to see her as a sibling as well. Josh honestly hadn't seen the man in a few months and he was very curious to see how he was doing. Joseph was also teaching at Beauxbatons, so it was interesting how his best friend and his now-girlfriend-former-ex-girlfriend's-friend were teaching at the same school. They probably knew each other now and maybe even from before. Josh was just generally curious about the life of his friend since they were now successful adults - a large step up from the pranks and jokes they pulled at school together. Josh grinned as he stared at the setting of the night club. It looked ready for the evening, thanks to his newly hired bartenders and waitresses. It wasn't really a necessary addition but seeing as he went away for two weeks with Astrid, he needed extra supervision.
Running a hand once again through his hair, he loosened his tie a little and walked over behind the bar, pouring himself a gin and tonic and sitting on one of the stools, awaiting the opening. It was only six in the evening and they opened at eight thirty, so there was still plenty of time before the evening was to begin. His mind began to wander to the days when the club first opened, thinking of his excitement taking over from the previous owner - Adrian Lilly. The name now sounded slightly familiar to him, but he needn't ponder on it. A family name, uncommon but often heard over the din the of the music. He stared down at the glass, now nearly empty save for the ice, and then looked around the place. His staff were off for their dinner break and most had gone to the grub pub or into Paris. Others had remained in the staff break room, sound proof and comfortable to fit the needs of each of them. Josh considered himself a good manager, bringing in a few thousand galleons on weekends and more than a few hundred on an average week night. It was a Thursday night then, so he expected a rather fair turnout seeing as the weekend fast approached. He had just come from seeing Astrid that day as well, and he was over the moon. He forgot how women could sometimes have that effect on him. He also knew that Joseph would probably see right through him, possibly asking him to pace himself a little better.
Of course as always, Josh would ignore him for the first little bit and then punch himself realizing his friend was right. It was just the way of the world, wasn't it? Even back at Hogwarts the two shared a similar relationship. Josh honestly wouldn't give it up for the world over since friendship to him was more valuable than life itself. Gryffindors came with a strong sense of loyalty and goodness to them, he knew, and he was now glad to have been placed in that house over Hufflepuff. His romantic nature almost won over his ability to be a better friend than anything else. He glanced down at his watch and leaned back against the bar, the empty glass sitting neatly beside him as he awaited the arrival of his friend. Hopefully Joseph would stay long enough to perhaps meet a lovely lady at the bar, making the night more entertaining for bothboys men.
