Kabriel tucked some hair behind her ear as she eased the light bow in between her locks of golden hair. She patted it down in the mirror and struck a silly pose, pursing her lips together so she resembled a fish. She puffed up her cheeks and crossed her eyes, giggling immediately after. She was feeling rather silly, she realized, as she ran a hand through her loose locks that flowed in curls down onto her shoulders. She smiled at her reflection, shooting herself an over-exaggerated wink like she was pulling a prank, and sauntered off towards her bed. Her and Anastasia had begun the planning for the Knowles-Thurston wedding and she couldn't be more excited. Kabes had been flipping through muggle and witching wedding styles since the beginning of the month, excited for a summer wedding. She smiled as she grabbed a small stack and began to sift through them. As she turned a page, she saw a groomsman who looked startlingly like her old flame, Topher. And immediately after, she saw one who looked like her lost love Ivanov. There was so much confusion stirring up within her at the thought of either one, especially since she hadn't even thinking of the former for quite some time now. Shrugging off the heart ache for Ivanov, she moved onto the pages with all the wedding dresses and cake styles. She figured Anya had already had most things sorted out, but she couldn't help but want to take part in her own wedding bedazzlement. There was always this magical part of every girl's life... the wedding. Not that Kabriel was ever going to get married so young. She was still only fifteen, after all. Anastasia, although not much older, was more mature than herself in mindset and Alcott and her... well, they had been together for what seemed like forever, so a wedding wasn't too far out of the question. Young love, and all that.
When Kabes had attended Gene's wedding to Silas, things had been rushed but still magical to her. She had been stunned to have been asked to be a bridesmaid, but she loved the thought. She was glad she did, because she now had some experience with weddings on the grounds of the palace. She thought, excitedly, about where Anastasia would choose her venue. That is, until she realized that she was late for feeding the ducks. She glanced at the clock, ticking quietly on her bedside table, and she realized that those poor creatures must be waiting on her morcels of bread! Oh the tragedy! Kabes grabbed her bag and rushed down to the kitchens. A few flights of stairs and an exhausted girl later, she found herself stuffing a loaf or two of bread into her satchel, followed by a bottle or two of butterbeer to keep her sanity as the heat began to grow more and more intolerable as spring began to ween into the summer months, bringing with it the summer heat. She smiled gleefully as she stepped outdoors, relieved that there was a breeze out today. She plopped a hat atop her head and slipped her sunglasses onto her emerald eyes to shield herself from the beam. She wandered off towards the lake and sat cheerfully beside the water. She saw a few ducks wading around the rocks and the lily pads and she opened her satchel. At the sound of the buckles un-hooking, a few of the ducks perked up and began to waddle or swim towards her. Now, thankfully, there weren't many ducks at the school so she wouldn't face a swarm, but sometimes when things got out of hand, she'd have to use her wand to slow them down, unfortunately.
She smiled at her little marine friends, "Come! Come around! I have plenty this time!" she trilled, ripping off some pieces of bread and tossing them out into the water. "Unlike last time, I'm sure you all remember." she giggled, glancing at a few of the ducks who were slowly approaching, quacks and all. "I mean, how silly it was of me to eat half of it! When of course, you all need it more than myself." she grinned as she tossed some more bread. As she watched the ducks grab for the pieces, she pulled out a bottle of butterbeer and placed it beside her on the grass as she tossed a few more morsels. They quacked and swam amongst one another, and Kabes tucked her sunglasses into the top of her sleeveless blouse. She flatted out her maxi skirt and opened the bottle of butterbeer. With a fizz, she saw foam quickly rising to the surface. Hurriedly, she placed the bottle to her lips, laughing as the foam spurted out the sides and covered her face. She laughed rather loudly as she began to try and salvage what was coming out of the bottle's tip. Finally, she managed to subdue the ravenous liquid and took a swig, relieved the panic was over. She always forgot how much the bottles would shake in her bag as she walked... silly girl. She ripped off a few more pieces of bread when she noticed the ducks had run out and were beginning to grow impatient. "Oh, don't give me that look." she scoffed at a few of them, teasingly poking her tongue out at the creatures.
