do you hear that, love?TAKE IT IN, FEEL IT ALL AND HOLD IT
tagged; kabriel -- outfit; here -- word count; 954 Engaged. It was a funny thing to think about but, every time that Anastasia looked down at her left hand, it sprung up in her mind like it was a fresh new thought. She was engaged to Alcott and she couldn't be happier. Ana knew that she was probably too young to be getting married - not in her mind, but in everyone else's. But, after years of dating, it just felt right in her mind; almost like it was the next logical step to her and evidently to Alcott as well. Ever since he had even proposed the idea of getting engaged at some point in the future to Anastasia, the pair had been meeting up more and just generally spending time together. The idea to change from a promise to a proposal had almost been a silent agreement - Ana didn't tell him she was ready, and Alcott never asked. He just took a chance and the timing fell perfectly. There were no big, romantic gestures like there had been with the promise ring. It was simple, down to earth and exactly what had brought the pair even closer – those quiet moments where there were no words, just smiles. To be perfectly honest, the whole official engagement had not been publicly announced yet – only Ana and Alcott’s parents knowing that it had been made official. It had been hard, however, to cover up the entire idea of being engaged – especially from her friends. Despite her being the first to know about the promise ring, Anastasia had even tried to keep Kabriel in the dark about the whole engagement idea. Somehow, she had actually managed to succeed for about a week or so before deciding that it was getting too risky to keep it a secret. The brunette had managed to actually tell her best friend this time, rather than just having her spot the newly adapted promise ring (now styling a small, 1 carat diamond) on her finger. For some reason, it just felt right – especially since, only a few months ago, Anastasia had been thinking that an engagement would be a year or so away. Now she had the ring on her finger to prove it and hopes for a summer wedding. The wedding – that’s where she needed Kabriel. Anastasia knew from the complete freak out that the bubbly Cossu through at the sight of the promise ring that Kabriel wanted to plan her wedding and every other party that could be related to the wedding. Now Ana was going to take her up on the offer. Grabbing a piece of parchment from her bedside table’s draw, Anastasia scribbled a small note onto the paper in her usual squiggly handwriting – letting the ink dry before wandering over to Kabriel’s side of the dorm room and dropping the note on top of her pillow. Kabes, Need to talk to you, stat. Kinda need a shopping buddy. Meet me down at Detaillant as soon as you get this, please. Just in Thyme tea shop? c: Love, A. xo The brunette wasn’t sure when Kabes would read the note but, knowing Kabriel, she had her doubts that she would be waiting for little over half an hour. It was like she had a sixth sense or something when it came to the mention of her name. Tying her curls back into a simple ponytail, Anastasia slung a jacket over her shoulders and threaded her arm through the strap from her bag before heading out through the door of her dorm room and down towards the exit of Beauxbatons. Ever since the engagement had been finalised, Anastasia had been keeping herself busy in terms of the organisation – mainly location hunting and wandering up and down Detaillant about twenty times in search of the perfect table decoration or something. One thing was for sure, she knew that the dress was already sorted. Mr Thurston, Alcott’s father, had already sent Ana an owl asking her about the dress and offering to design it himself with her aid. There is no better father-in-law-to-be than one who runs a high-end fashion organisation. With the dress sorted, it was just the case of doing everything else. Decorations, invitations, transport, venue… Anastasia sighed as she wandered down the cobble path – winding down from the Beauxbatons grounds towards the small town that sat in the distance. How could she be a week into an engagement and already be pulling her hair out trying to plan for a wedding? More importantly, who thought two or three months was enough time to plan everything? Tucking a few stray strands of hair behind her ears, the brunette pulled her jacket a little tighter around her figure to keep the chilly breeze from making her cold while also keeping her head down, wandering casually through the cobbled streets. This had to be the fifth or sixth time she had paid a visit to Detaillant in the space of just over a week - almost like she hoped that a stray idea or decoration might just suddenly appear if she kept checking. The fast answer was that it didn’t happen - shops couldn’t turn around fast enough for that to happen. She needed Kabriel’s organisation skills, stat.
It only took the brunnette a few more steps to reach the entrance of the tea shop, ducking her head down as she wandered inside. “Good morning,” Anastasia smiled at the barista as she leant against the bar. Ordering a small cup of tea and a few biscuits, the brunette took a seat outside of the tea shop in the early morning sunshine. Now all she could do was sit and wait.

see you this way, AND IT'S KILLING ME TO SEE YOU THIS WAY |
[/div] Kabriel sucked on the edge of her quill as she struggled to finish up her homework for her charms class. The new professor was running her ragged with work and she couldn't help but wish she were back in the first year classes. She honestly missed first year. Being a fourth year now... she missed her friends! She didn't have class with any of them anymore. Not even Lily or Otis or anyone. It was rather upsetting, she decided. Sighing, she tucked some of her golden hair behind her ear as she reread the paragraph she had been attempting to absorb for the past twenty minutes. It was still early in the morning, too. Normally at this point she would have begun her regular routine of chasing bunnies and swimming in the lake. The weather was gorgeous out, and she felt lame missing out on all of it as she sat rather comfortably in the library. The new librarian was very nice, she decided, even though she wondered what kept happening after Ms. Keller left. Regardless, she liked the look of Ms. Bingham but she felt as though her name sounded familiar. Eh, nothing to linger on really. She finally made it through the paragraph (sort of understanding it) and moved onto the next page which described how summoning charms came about. Dear lord, why had she been assigned so much homework? She groaned and threw her head back over her chair, staring up at the high ceilings with their intricate designs. As if on cue, she heard a little hoot and saw a lovely little owl swooping in through one of the open windows at the top of the library. It flew around in circles a few times, as though confused as it searched for its target, and finally decided on Kabes. Surprised, she watched as it landed in front of her. She looked this way and that, wondering if someone had seen. When she decided that it was appropriate, she untied the letter hanging from the talons of the little owl and quickly gave him a little pat. She reached into her satchel and pulled out some owl treats. Feeding the owl with one hand, she struggled to unfold the note with the use of her teeth and her free hand. Once the owl had flown off, content with its winnings, she began to read the beautiful writing. Only one person had such natural font. She smiled and began. Anastasia was one of her oldest and most dearest friends. Even though she didn't know her beloved too well, she knew that they were perfect for one another in every way possible. Smiling to herself, she found the excuse she so desperately needed to escape her homework and commence her adventuring for the afternoon! Goodness, it was nearly time for tea. She definitely wanted to have time to have some kind of adventure before day's end. Perhaps this one would be one shared with Anastasia as she was asked to meet her in the detaillant. She stuffed her books into her bag and slipped her quill into her lips as a little treat during the walk. She managed to make it all the way to the doors of the library when she realized she had left the note. Not wanting to run back and get it, she wondered if she was ready enough to try the summoning charm. Only one way to find out! she thought with a grin. Pulling her wand out from her bag, she gave it a wave and said as firmly as possible, "Accio!" she waited patiently but didn't hear or see a piece of parchment nearing her. Unabashed, she strut right back to her desk, grabbed it and stuffed it in her pocket. Oh well, more practice was needed apparently. She sighed and wandered towards the front doors, waving her wand this way and that, watching the sparks dance around her on her way to the detaillant. She loved leaving the grounds on beautiful days, but sometimes she wished she could just wade in the lake and poke some of the creatures who lingered near the surface. She knew of some dark creatures living beneath the waters, but she didn't dare disturb them as students had been known to meet their deaths under the calm, velvety surface. She walked past the lake and watched it with sad, forlorn eyes, before finally making it to the gates. She continued her stroll towards the Boutiques and saw the beautiful ocean glistening up ahead. She sighed and wished to be on a boat, sailing the sea... of course, that would require a break. Maybe next time. She smiled when she saw the little tea shop and made a quick beeline towards it. She knew her friend would be awaiting her arrival and she quickly rushed towards the shop, opening the door. The bells jingled all around and she grinned at the sight of her friend. "Anya!" she exclaimed, running forth and wrapping her arms around the Cossu. Despite their age difference, the girls were extremely similar and it was wonderful. She beamed and took a moment before ordering herself a lovely orange tea and a vanilla cupcake. She stood there and sighed, shaking her head at the girl. "What's so important that you couldn't tell me in a letter?" she joked, leaning against the counter. Anastasia was one of Kabriel's closest and bestest friends. Being roommates at last made life so much easier for her since it meant that if they had news or ideas they need only crawl a few feet towards their intended victim. Or, er... friend. She smiled at Anastasia before quickly adding, "By the way, you're a lifesaver. I was dying. I miss Brent." she sighed, once again shaking her head. But things were better now that she had decided to abandon her homework. Things were always better after abandoning homework for a better and brighter day. do you hear that, love?TAKE IT IN, FEEL IT ALL AND HOLD IT
tagged; kabriel -- outfit; here -- word count; 849 It was nice for Anastasia to actually have some time to her own thoughts after all that had happened, especially with the whole wedding situation. Sitting out in the late morning sunshine after months of typical (if terrible) French weather, the brunette sunk into the patio chair - watching the people of Detaillant pass by the tea shop in their usual fashion. Most of them that passed appeared to be students - spending their weekend procrastinating on their homework and shopping instead. To be honest, Ana was doing the same. She had only chosen two or three classes to take for the term as she knew her concentration was not going to be the highest in the next month or two. Everything had become wedding focused - the idea of school can come afterwards when there was more time. Tucking a strand of her hair that had come loose back behind her ear, Anastasia took a sip from the tea cup before letting out a sigh and clearing her mind.
After finishing her first cup of tea of the day in what felt like a minute, the brunette chose to make her way back inside of the shop to return the cup while also ordering another. It was strange the stress of a wedding could have on someone; Anastasia had gone from hating tea with a passion to drinking it like it was water. Maybe her father was right when he said that tea solved every worry. "Same again, please," Ana smiled at the barista, passing her tea cup back over the counter. As she waited by the bar, the bell above the door caused her to turn her head at every ring - checking whether or not it was Kabriel. Each time she looked, it felt like a waste of energy when it turned out not to be her energetic best friend. Her nerves were getting the best of her but Anastasia wasn't exactly worried about telling Kabriel. It's not like she had to worry about her friend being against the whole idea, especially after how she responded to the original ring. Maybe it was just the waiting around that was killing her.
The bell above the door rang once more but Anastasia didn't bother to turn her head and, instead, passed a few golden coins across to the barista. The one time she didn't look... As soon as she heard her voice, a smile grew across the brunette's face as she turned to face a Kabriel who was almost running towards her. Bracing for impact, Ana embraced the hug and wrapped her arms around her best friend as well. God knows what Anastasia would do without Kabriel sometimes - she was always the first one to help, or to cheer someone up. Naturally bouncy and with an infectious smile, she was probably the best friend a girl could have. Despite the heavy contrasts between her and Jenna, Ana loved them both equally. Their different skills and attributes came in handy at different times - Kabriel for planning and bouncy moments, Jenna for those times of sanity. "Thanks for coming, Kabes," Anastasia commented with a smile as she let go of her friend, taking a quick sip of her tea. The brunette couldn't help but smirk a little as Kabriel asked why she had been called down to the Detaillant but didn't give Ana long enough to respond before blabbering on. The new Charms teacher, Professor Sommer, was definitely different to the previous. "I know what you mean," Anastasia commented with a laugh, "I'm swamped to. Nothing better to cure that feeling than shopping though, am I right?" She smiled across at Kabriel before taking another sip of her freshly brewed tea.
“Well, the reason I needed to meet with you is that I need to organise something that suddenly cropped up." Suddenly was the correct term. Anastasia had felt ready for the idea of being Alcott's fiancée but she had never told him this. The question just came at the right time. "I am absolutely terrible with organisation-” no lie, Anastasia struggled to organise herself let alone a wedding, “- but I knew how good you were.” Unsure whether Kabriel would say yes to such a vague response, the brunette paused for a second, wondering exactly what was the best way to reveal the whole idea of a wedding. Show her the ring? Just simply tell her straight up? Ana let out a sigh - a smile still planted on her face - as she lifted her left hand up towards Kabriel. The newly embellished diamond into the silver promise ring surely had to stand out to her friend's eye. After all, Anastasia had spent hours with Kabriel just staring down at the ring; especially when she first spotted it on her finger. The brunette braced herself for the high-pitched squeal she expected to escape from her best friend any minute. Ana's smile beamed across to Kabriel with one final question, one that she hoped she would answer yes to. "You up for planning a summer wedding?"

see you this way, AND IT'S KILLING ME TO SEE YOU THIS WAY |
[/div] Kabes nodded eagerly, excitement flowing through her veins. Shopping was the cure for whatever was the problem. The benefits to being a prefect was that you actually got a small salary from the school that allowed Kabes to spend a little. Considering she wasn't from a very wealthy family, her mother made most of her clothes but with some savings she managed to purchase some things that she loved - shoes and bags mostly. But otherwise, she borrowed clothes from her roommates (when they fit her - she was unusually short at five foot four) and from various thrift shops she visited whenever she went into Paris. It helped to know how to find a bargain. Perhaps that was what Anastasia needed the girl for? It was questionable at best, because Anastasia often had a better sense of style than Kabes so shopping most certainly was a curious affair. However, most girls did enjoy shopping with company, and Kabes was like a starfish in the sense that she complimented honestly and rejected clothes in a kindly manner. Although sometimes she would speak a little too much about an outfit, for instance describing it as too much but yet too little. Vague descriptions in copious amounts seemed to confuse many a shopping partner. But she hoped that Anastasia would be alright with that. Had the girls not become such good friends, she wondered what she'd be doing at all this year, as Anastasia and Jenna both made the girl into a better person in terms of living with. Even Alex and her brothers had noticed a difference over the break when they went and visited her parents over the excitement of the birth of the new Lilly boy.
Twas true, Kabes always loved to plan. She helped in planning the Mistletoe Ball back in December. She was someone who loved having something to look forward to. In another life, she could have been an events planner, but in this one she mostly wanted to tame some dragons. Otherwise, she listened eagerly to her friend. When her drink came, she left it on the counter for all of two seconds before taking a nice sip. "I wouldn't say I'm amazing, but I would love love loooove to help!" she said enthusiastically, beaming at Anastasia as she tucked some hair behind her ear. Anastasia seemed to be a little nervous telling her, but at the same time a little excited. Kabes was beyond curious about the news. She sat there, tense all over as she anticipated the exciting news. Was she pregnant? Was there going to be a huge birthday celebration for her or Alcott? Was this something that was going to change the world? The possibilities were endless with Anya, and Kabes knew it. She honestly felt like this was going to come out of left field, and she hadn't the slightest idea of what it could be. Eagerly, she eyed her friend before the only thing that happened was that she stuck her hand in her face. "Why're you-" Kabes stared, nearly averting her eyes to shoot a confusing look at her friend. Well, that was before the shiny little diamond caught her eye. Her hand shot to her mouth, covering the squealing that was beginning to build up as her whole body shook with excitement. Her smile was so wide it was threatening to rip her face in half. "ARE YOU SERIOUS?" she exclaimed, barely able to contain herself. Half the shop, stunned, looked over at them and Kabes' cheeks flushed before she cheered, "MY BEST FRIEND'S GETTING MARRIED!" and squealed. There it was. Kabes tended to act a little like a child when something excited happened. She flung her arms around her best friend as there was an applause and laughter. Many knew about Kabes' reactions, and they knew that sometimes she could overreact a little. So chuckles were met with the news and her reaction as they had probably seen this girl before.
"I can't believe it! He proposed?" Kabes cooed and took Anastasia's hand in hers, beaming as she had no idea where to look. Either at the olive skinned fingers that lay in her palm or at the beaming smile of the bride-to-be. But then she froze at the proposition that was given to her. "You want me to plan this wedding?" she gawked, frozen for nearly ten seconds before she shook herself out of it. "Yes! Yes, of course a million times yes!" she squealed, giggling beyond belief. Her friend was getting married... yes, she was young, but Kabes honestly couldn't care less because she knew that no matter what, her and Alcott would be together forever. She smiled and called over the tea shop barista. "Can we please have a bottle of sparkling cider?" she beamed. Unfortunately, they were both too young for champagne, but at some point she would buy the girl a bottle to celebrate. Perhaps at their one year anniversary. She smiled when he brought over two glasses. "To this beautiful summer wedding for this beautiful bride!" The girls clinked their glasses together and Kabes took a large sip before nearly coughing it up. "Wait... summer wedding... that's in only a few months! Are you crazy? What are we still doing here! We need to go. Now. Shopping. Oh my god. Do you have a dress?" and the panic ensued. The girl would probably head back to the dormitory and sit there planning the wedding in one of those wedding scrap books. She'd be lying if she said she didn't already have some stuff in one already. "Who's in the wedding party? How many guests do you want? What kind of cake? Oh gosh, there are so many questions!"
