happy free confused and lonelyTONIGHT'S THE NIGHT WE FORGET ABOUT THE DEADLINES
tagged; jenna -- outfit; here -- word count; 790 For once in what felt like a very long time, Anastasia woke up with a small smile on her face. A weekend that was free from rushing around or having to spend hours studying – something the girl needed. She had spent the past few weekends struggling to balance her school work with wedding planning and, over this period had managed to wear herself out. Running her fingers through her hair, the brunette slowly shuffled out from between the sheets – planting both feet firmly on the carpet beneath her. As she stood up, Ana glanced around the room to see if either Jenna or Kabriel were still around but neither of them were still in their beds. All that was left in the room was Anastasia, the furniture and a ton of wedding magazines that stood in a pile by Kabriel’s bed. Rolling her eyes at the thought of doing any more planning for the wedding, Ana quickly changed out of her usual pyjamas into an aqua blue sun dress she had picked up while shopping out in the Detaillent – matching it with a tan leather jacket to cover her arms, a shoulder bag and a pair of sandals. Quickly brushing through her dark curls, Anastasia hastily walked out of her dorm room and down through the common room. The seventeen year old didn’t exactly have any where she needed to be but Ana knew that if she spent any longer in her room with bridal magazines, the resulting mess of torn-up paper would not be her responsibility in the end.
Wandering around the corridors of Beauxbatons helped to relax Anastasia, especially those that were so quiet that you could hear a pin drop in them. After all the activity in her life, taking some time out in a quiet area of the castle was helping her to settle down. Stopping occasionally to admire one of the many paintings and tapestries that covered the school walls, the brunette continued to wind her way around the vast corridors in any direction they wanted to take her. She was pretty sure she’d already seen the same paintings three times – a fourth wasn’t going to hurt her. Although Ana was enjoying the idea of marriage, especially to someone like Alcott who she had held closely in her heart for what felt like decades rather than a few years, the stress that came along with planning the ceremony was not her favourite part. All Anastasia could be thankful for was that Kabriel had agreed to help her out with some of the planning. She may have been the bubbliest and over-enthusiastic best friend anyone could ask for but Kabes knew her way around a bridal magazine like it was the back of her hand. Anastasia wouldn’t even know where to start. Snuggling into her jacket and wrapping her arms around her waist, the brunette had finally got sick of walking in circles – coming to rest by a large arched window that looked out across to the grounds of Beauxbatons. Ana rested her elbows on the bottom of the arch, her chin falling into her palms a few seconds later. The start of the summer following what felt like the longest winter had drawn all the students from every house out into the daylight, almost like they had no care in the world. Anastasia sighed for a moment before a small smile appeared on her lips; her eyes landing on the sparkling lake water underneath the sunshine. Ignoring how many students had set up small hangout groups around the water, she headed straight for the nearest exit out into the sunshine.
The lakeside was coated in students, stretching for as far as the eye could see. Despite the amount of people, the walk down by the lake was refreshing to Anastasia and that was all that mattered in her mind. She followed the natural path of the lake’s edge in hopes of reaching a quiet spot somewhere along the grassy bank. To the brunette’s surprise, the amount of students on the lake’s edge began to lessen the further she walked and, only five minutes later, found a quiet area to sit. Tucking her dress underneath herself, Anastasia sat herself down onto the grass – her legs dangling over the embankment, almost touching the water. Pausing for a moment, she decided to pull her shoes from her feet and dip her toes into the water – the chilling sensation running up her nerves at a single touch. Overcoming the chill, Anastasia left her toes in the water as she began to relax – blanking out almost everyone and everything around her. In fact, Ana was so relaxed that her mind seemed to blank out that someone had said her name.

The only reason she had been gone is because her dad had relapsed and the cancer had come back. Beverley had taken the decision to take Jenna and her little brother out of their respective schools to make sure their dad could recover with his family around him. Fortunately, Stuart recovered really well and the doctors told him that he shouldn't relapse again as they had got rid of all signs of cancer. Even though she had only been gone for 3 months, Jen had missed a lot of school and had a lot of catching up to do, especially with her friends. The girl had come back a week ago, but most of the week had been spent revising in the library on work that she missed or sleeping in the dorm she shared with her two best friends: Ana, her bff and Kabes, the most hyper best friend you could ever have. She hadn't seen her two best friends at all since she came back as she had been so busy.
At that moment, the sixteen year old was busy finalising some arithmancy work. It was her favourite subject so work for it was kind of a breeze. It was a shame that there was no professor for it at Beauxbatons so Jen had decided to read up more about the subject and teach herself more about the subject. In a matter of seconds she had finished reading so absent-mindely looked out of the big window that was directly behind her and saw nearly the whole school outside enjoying the sun's rays. Deciding that she should go and enjoy the sun, The raven haiired girl, stood up, put the book back on the shelf where she got it from, then headed out of the library towards her dorm. Five minutes later, Jenna got to the dorm, grabbed Lucky's new lead from her bedside table drawer, clipped it on to her puppy's collar and then was dragged out the door by Lucky. "The girl's must be outside enjoying the sunshine." Jen thought to herself as she locked the door of the dorm.
As soon as the door clicked shut, Lucky promptly started tugging on the lead. Jen gripped hold of the lead tightly and proceeded to stroll towards the grounds of the palace. In a matter of minutes, Jenna (with her puppy in tow) had reached the courtyard of the palace. Walking towards the loud talking going on, Jenna knew exactly where she was headed: the lake. Ignoring all the chattering students in their groups, Jen continued to walk around the lake enjoying the winder of nature. The brunette and her dog walked around the lake for about fifteen minutes before finding a quiet place to relax. This happened to be under one of the many oak tress dotted round the lake. Making herself comfortable under the leaves of the oak tree, Jenna took her iphone out of her pocket just to check the time. Looking up, she then noticed a girl who looked strangely like her bff. A few seconds later, the sixteen year old realised it was Ana, so she crept up behind her best friend, whilst trying to keep Lucky quiet. Hey Ana. Guess who? The girl greeted her best friend whilst putting her hands over the older girl's eyes. notes: sorry this is so crappy. I'm really really rusty.

happy free confused and lonelyTONIGHT'S THE NIGHT WE FORGET ABOUT THE DEADLINES
tagged; jenna -- outfit; here -- word count; 800 Ever since she had started at Beauxbatons, the lake had always been Anastasia’s favourite place to get away from everything. The grounds in general held so many stories and memories that the brunette couldn’t help but returning in times of stress or worry to clear her thoughts. Despite the support from both Kabriel and, of course, Alcott when it came to the wedding planning, it was still taking its toll on the seventeen year old. How could it not? The biggest event in her life – the one event that she wanted to make sure was perfect and memorable for years to come. Ana let out a sigh as she brushed a few loose strands out of her face, tucking them behind her ear. She continued to follow the natural curve of the lake bed; her mind focusing on the natural beauty of the grounds rather than the students that, ever since the sun appeared earlier that morning, had littered almost every inch of the grass around the grounds. The scene was the same every year when summer finally made an appearance in late April, early May and seemed to continue right through to the early autumnal months where the leaves begin to fall from the trees that enclosed the lakeside area from the rest of the open grounds.
Although the water did have a slight chill, Ana didn’t mind dipping the bottom of her feet into the lake. Anastasia had always been one for swimming, or just generally playing with water – the point proven by the fact that she was currently swirling her feet around in the water in a figure of eight. It actually helped the brunette to relax more than anything else. She used to be similar when she’d go with her father to visit the beaches when she was younger; Anastasia would always stand in the centre of the sand, waiting for the tide to ripple in along the coast and brush over her feet. A small smile appeared on her lips at the thought of the memory, at the thought of her father. What would have he said when he realised that his daughter was getting married? Her eyes glanced down to where her left hand rested on her lap, the small diamond glittering in the summer sunlight. Ana had no idea what her father would have said about marriage, but she kind of wish she could know. Or at least know that he was watching over with a smile on his face.
A sigh escaped her lips as she looked out across the water, the sunlight reflecting on the ripples of the water creating the most stunning of views. It didn’t take long, however, for the sigh to turn into an unexpected squeak as the view was replaced by darkness. The brunette could feel a pair of hands covering her eyes, blocking her view from the area that surrounds her. ‘Guess who?’ The voice was familiar to Anastasia’s ear and it only took a moment for her head to figure out who it was. Placing her own hands over the pair that covered her eyes, the brunette pulled off one of the hands and looked up. “Jenna!” Anastasia squealed, jumping up off the grass in less than a second and pulling her friend into a hug almost instantly. It had felt like forever since she had seen her best friend and, with everything that had happened recently, it was just great to see a familiar face that wasn’t involved in the wedding planning. Ana pulled away from the hug, glancing down at their feet to spot the familiar white dog that she had shared a dorm with for what felt like forever. “Why hello to you too Lucky,” Ana smiled at the puppy as she bent down slightly, giving the dog a quick rub on the forehead.
Standing back up to her full height, Anastasia straightened out her dress and smiled up at Jenna. It really did feel like forever since she had seen her best friend and, for some reason, just having her back around after so long made her feel so much happier than she had been lately. The stress of a wedding was eating at her on the inside, but nothing changed on the outside. “It’s nice to see you back at school Jen,” Ana commented with a smile, “Is everything okay at home now?” The brunette wasn’t exactly sure what had happened, only that it was a family emergency and Jenna had to leave school for a few months. She wasn’t bothered about the nitty gritty details – she only wanted to make sure that her best friend was happy. In Ana’s eyes, Jenna appeared to be happy but Anastasia knew too well how easily a fake smile can be kept up.
