It was night time, not that it really made that much of a difference in the dungeons, which was normally swamped in darkness anyway. Drystan, after returning to the palace from having a leisurely stroll through the forest (less innocent than it sounds), headed straight towards the deepest, quietest and most vacant part of the school. Not to go to the common room though, which was also in this general direction, but for other more nefarious purposes - nefarious according to the people who knew him too well at least. He stopped walking as he reached his destination: the catacombs. The fox's eyes gleamed a bright shade of orange as a smirk crossed his lips. This was actually one of his favorite places to go. It was where he got the skull for the valentines day party pinata last year. Truly, that had been an amusing situation, though others seemed rather less than impressed, not least Hyo. Hyo. Repeating that one name in his head made the expression on his face more malicious. His smirk became a sneer, eyes narrowing and the pupils in his eyes becoming slits and more animal-like. He had the boy where he wanted him, which was good, but he'd be damned if that was going to stop him from making the brat more f*cking miserable than he had done already. Vampire or not, nothing was going to stop the kitsune from trying his best to get his own way, whether it's through torture, manipulation or whatever else. Which is what lead him here.
In his right hand a glimpse of silver flashed in the dim darkness of the catacombs. He raised said hand towards his side, towards a wall, and a loud screech was made as the object scratched against the surface of the rock. Drystan's eyes narrowed as his hand raised further, so that the long dirt encrusted cleaver was level with them. He smirked again as he proceeded to walk further into a level beyond the dungeons, becoming more darker as he went - if that was even possible. His arm fell limply to his side as he did so, and once again the over whelming sound of metal on rock was made again. A low chuckle escaped him. Now, if he ever felt joy, this was probably it. There was nothing more thrilling to be one with the darkness, with the creatures that roamed beneath the surface; where the worms wriggled and the corpses decayed, maggots appearing as they fed on rotted flesh... yes, this was where he truly belonged.
Such thoughts pushed other meaningless ones about other people aside and he concentrated on the task at hand. Well, concentrate was a bit of a long stretch as far as this fox was concerned, really. He hardly even remembered coming down here, his feet his seemed to move by themselves. However, he couldn't and wouldn't become bewildered or surprised about it, the weapon in his hand simply spoke for itself. A long tongue lolled out of his mouth as he drew it slowly along his lips, finishing off by flicking at one protruding canine tooth. "Now then..." he whispered as his hand suddenly shot out and smashed into a coffin that was sitting in a cravice in the wall beside him in the narrow corridor. It was quite a loud bang but he gave no thought to anyone hearing him. He simply stood there, his eyes shooting down to the floor which was now covered in wood, soil and what appeared to be human remains. Drystan quickly smirked as he reached down with his free hand to grab the skull of the skeleton and hoisted it up to eye level, body and all. With another quick motion he used the cleaver to swipe at the object's neck, dismembering it and making the rest of the body crash loudly onto the ground again, so that he was simply holding it's head. It didn't seem to have been completely clean and bits of flesh hung lightly from it, and the smell... well, he wouldn't have agreed that it was entirely repulsive.
He lowered the cleaver to his side again, as well as the skull in his other hand, and turned as he heard the light sound of footsteps from the direction he had just come from. "What's this...?" His eyes flashed and narrowed at the oncoming person. Well, he couldn't really explain what he had just been up to, so normally it would have been quite the predicament, however he didn't especially care about any of that in the slightest. He gripped the weapon tightly, then lightened it. It was just bound to be an interesting confrontation, he was quite sure of that, but who could it be, he wondered.

It was a beautiful night, but Rachele did not know it. In fact, she had missed out on a truly magnificent day as well. This was unusual for her as she often preferred the outdoors and her various sanctuaries on the grounds. They were where she felt the most calm and the most alive. Inside, she often felt trapped because of what she went through with her family. However, that was where she found herself. The whole day she had been wandering somewhat aimlessly around the castle. Her body seemed to know where it was going, but her mind had not been alerted to her body's plans. It was too wrapped up in the thoughts, doubts, and fears she'd been having.
Now, she found herself deep within the bowels of Beauxbatons. She had started in the dungeons, but it had not seemed big enough. Meanwhile, the catacombs went on forever. It had not taken very long for her to wonder far away from the entrance. It was a myriad of passages down here, and if one weren't careful they could get lost. Luckily, her heightened senses coupled with her ability to remember where she'd been was a lot of assistance. Of course, she didn't really want to escape the place. Instead, she was wrapping herself up in it in a way. To try and keep herself from thinking of the matters assaulting her mind, she focused on details and tried to notice things about the various objects she ran into, most of which were skulls.
As she rounded the corner of a passage, her ears picked up a sound that made her cringe. The sound of metal scraping had never been one of her favorite sounds as a human, but as a vampire it was almost painful. It was not a familiar sound, and she would have bet a couple of coins that nobody else was down here. However, the sound seemed to suggest otherwise. Cautiously, just in case the sound was from something dangerous, Rachele started to retrace her steps to find her way back to the entrance and to find the origin of the noise. Though she was rather shy, she decided that if there was a person she would talk to them.
Just as she was thinking this, another sound reached her that made her stop. Her head was starting to hurt a little from the echo of the noises. For a moment, she stood still. There was no doubt that someone else was down here, but she couldn't even guess at who. Soon, she moved again. It didn't take long for her to find the source once she started looking. Her eyes widened slightly when she identified who was standing there with the mess all about. She had seen him quite a few times though she had never officially met him. This definitely felt like it was going to be a much more interesting night than she could have anticipated. Without a pause she walked straight towards the guy. "It seems I'm not the only one lurking down here," she said barely above a whisper feeling sure that he would hear.

Still he stood there, simply waiting for the other person to come into view, until - at last - there she was. Wearing bright blue clothing, no less, and even though it was dark the colour was almost blinding. He cocked his head to the side as he watched her through slanted eyes. And then she whispered something, which almost seemed to echo no matter how quiet she was initially trying to sound. "It seems so," he hissed back at her in his usual tone, not very friendly in the slightest. It didn't matter who he was facing, friend or foe - though what he called a 'friend' usually differed from what the other fools in the school thought it was - he generally wouldn't act any differently. Now that he looked at her though she seemed faintly familiar, and she seemed to have that aura around her that told him she was a vampire. Ironic, really, the only people he met around the building these days was people who lusted for blood. Of course he did as well in a sense, but not in the same way. They lived on the stuff, he preferred to shed blood for enjoyment, just plain and simple.
His eyes narrowed once again at her, flashing bright orange in the darkness, as he took a small step toward her, raising one hand as he did so simply to drag the cleaver along the wall again and allowing another high pitched screech to some from it. "I don't usually ask this question since I usually don't care, but who are you?" he asked, the question sounding quite flat and emotionless as they left his lips. "You seem familiar, but where from...."
And then it hit him. A faint shock flashed across his mind as he remembered something. "Hyo. You're a friend of Hyo, are you not? I've seen you two together, looking quite cozy and stuff." His voice became a sneer, filled to the brim with maliciousness and his eyes appeared more predatory, like wolf about to pounce on a rabbit. Naturally though, of course, he highly doubted this girl was much like a rabbit, and he knew better than to underestimate people, as it had happened before. Despite that though, he still liked to mess with them, provoking and... well, still being very unpleasant in general. Kitsune's were generally tricksters, not always suited for confronting things head-to-head, as much as he liked to do or threaten to do sometimes. No, for this, for now it was best to stick to that method. Though the weapon in his hand kinda was screaming out for action, as well as every other urge in his body. He stood there eyeing her up for a bit, feeling something building up in him that was akin to either rage, envy or quite possibly both. They had been up to something, this girl and that brat, he was sure about it. But what? That was one thing he had to find out, no matter what he had to do to achieve it. "I must say though," he said lazily, changing tactics so he now appeared a lot calmer than he actually was. He raised the human skull in his left hand and thrust it in her direction without letting go. "You caught me at an awkward time. Then again, being a vampire - as I'm sure you are - you're probably quite at home down here, with the deceased." He smirked, a fox-like canine tooth poking out as he did so. "You're welcome to join me if you'd like, there's plenty to go around. Hell, I'm sure even one or two of these stiffs have a drop or two of blood left in them, if you look hard enough." He casually tapped the skeleton's ribcage with the tip of his foot, before raising it and then slamming it down on top of it, making a loud crack sound out and a cloud of dust appear. Looking amused, Drystan looked up from where he'd been glancing at the ground to look at the girl who had joined him. It was always fun watching people's reactions to his very erratic behavior, and this event was no different. ___________________________________________________________________________[/color] Word Count 703 Tags Rachele~ Status Complete Template By Arro @ Caution 2.0

The sound of the guy's voice immediately put her defenses up a little more. She was always cautious as one never knew who they might run into, but there was definitely something in the tone and the way this guy carried himself that made her more alert. However, she did not care if the tone was friendly or not. She had wanted to come down here, and she was not going to let some guy get in her way. Slowly, she took a deep breath in to catch his scent. Immediately, she knew that he was no human. There was far more to this guy though she only had suspicions about what he was. Still, she didn't fear him. There were far worse things than this in the middle of the night. Besides, she liked a little danger.
His eyes were something. They were a bit unsettling, but she continued forward. Somehow, she didn't think she should let this guy see any emotion. That was quite difficult though as he made the screeching sound yet again. It made her flinch slightly. The sound ran up and down her spine, and her ears held an echo of it even after the sound had died. Still she kept going forward though she did arch a brow at his comment. If he didn't usually care, why did he care now? Just as she was about to answer, he mentioned Hyo. Her eyes narrowed slightly as a creeping feeling came over her. She remained silent about it, but went ahead and addressed the previous question. "Yes, I am Hyo's friend," she answered calmly though her voice had a slight edge. "I'm Rachele."
The look in this guy's eyes made Rachele even more wary. That look was all too familiar as she had given it many a time. Her fangs slowly came out. She didn't want to fight, but if he showed an indication that he was about to attack, she would be ready. Though she did feel a little threatened, Rachele also found that she was very curious about this guy. He was different from anyone she had met at the school, and that fed into her curiosity. She was more than capable of handling herself it things got sticky, but she wanted to at least try and see if she could be somewhat friendly with this guy.
The tension was definitely growing as the two of them stared at one another. Eventually, he spoke again, but the air did not clear even though the voice had eased. The skull he held out did not scare her in the least. The slight smell to it did make her wrinkle her nose in distaste, but as much as she hated to remember it, the truth was that after she had turned, she had thrown a fit down here. She had raged against the dead, so he was absolutely correct. She was at home down here. After all, she was pretty much dead herself. "You could say that," she said calmly. "I'll join, but I know there is no blood down here for me, except for yours." It wasn't a threat of course, it was more of a friendly warning. Her eyes did widen a bit as he began to destroy the skeleton. Another look of distaste came across her face. Oh yes, he was different. She was not sure if she cared for it or not, but she was not backing down.

She was walking slowly, very slowly towards him, apparently on high alert, for reasons the young kitsune couldn't fathom. It wasn't as if he was doing out of the normal, or at least for him, perhaps other people don't expect demonic foxes hiding around corners waving lethal weapons around and desecrating the dead. But that was just him, he managed to find amusement in the most morbid and depressing situations. Drystan had moved the metal edge of the cleaver down the wall again, but there appeared to be no reaction. He could tell though that she wasn't human herself, and that if that was the case then her senses would be well tuned to high volumes of noise. The fox smirked at the thought, moving down to a crouching possession, the cleaver moving to dangle between his legs so that it was tapping against the floor. His orange, almost golden eyes gleamed as he looked up at the girl as he finally decided to speak. So this wasn't a one sided conversation after all, it seemed.
Hyo's friend. Just as he suspected. An unpleasant and ugly look crossed his features at that, which lingered for a moment until after she said her name. "Rachele... yeah, heard that name before. Not from young Hyo though," he said in an almost hiss as he stood up properly again, swaying in an almost snake-like way as he did so. "And as I thought. Vampire. No wonder you know Hyo then." He smirked, his eyes narrowing as his eyes zoned in on her fangs, which then twitched slightly. Making a small noise of contentment in his throat, and with a quick fluid movement, he stabbed the cleaver cleanly into the stone wall, then proceeded to stroke the skull gently on the top as if it was something precious. "Kinda makes you wonder if this guy was cute in real life, right?" he questioned, orange eyes landing on her for a moment as a giggle of madness escaped him. "Oh yesssssss. Of course necrophilia is a sin, but really, if the person was cute enough when alive then I wouldn't hesitate to... right now..." The laughter that escaped him was more harsh, his face looming closer to the item as if he was about to lick of kiss it... when he heard an interruption.
As if distracted he replied, "well you wouldn't want to drink any of my blood. Hyo knew full well what he was getting into when he tasted mine." he smiled faintly as if recalling a faint memory. Apparently sidhe blood was quite seductive and addictive, which made things far much easier as far as getting the young vampire to do what he utmost desired went. His long tongue flicked over his lips as he slyly glanced at her. "You're welcome to if you want, though these seem far more interesting, don't you agree? Despite their lack of blood and life." He held up the skull to her again, then without warning carelessly dropped it to the ground, leaving it to utter a resounding crack as it slammed against the floor, breaking in half. "So tell me," he started, fully turning towards her, a look of curiosity burning vividly in his gaze. "What kind of relationship do you and Hyo have? Just friends? More than that? I know you vampires. You just do whatever you please, with everyone, especially your own." He looked especially serious now. No trust was gained or lost when it came to him and that breed, that's for sure. And she certainly seemed pretty enough, so why shouldn't Rachele and Hyo embark on something more than friendship, that was certainly something that was buzzing around Drystan's ever elusive mind at this time.

The look that came across his face was not lost on Rachele. There was a dangerous feel about him though she doubted it was the kind that would have the two of them fighting with fangs or regular weapons. No, he was dangerous in a different sort of way. However, she knew that she could be dangerous too. She just hoped it would not come to that. Though she was no newborn, Rachele knew that her control was not completely developed yet. Her eyes were steely as they gazed back at Drystan. She wondered where he had heard her name though she did not voice that thought in a question. "Well, believe it or not, I do know other people besides Hyo," she said silkily. There was no reason to be unpleasant to him. At least, there wasn't one yet.
A slight glare came across the young vampire's face at the next comment. She did not like the way he said that. However, the look quickly left her face and settled into one of amusement at Drystan's next move. She hadn't seen that coming, and honestly she found it to be intriguing. Perhaps she had a little more of a morbid streak than she had known. Though he hadn't really said anything that required an answer, she did speak after looking at the skull. "Judging by his bone structure, I think you'd be pleased with his appearance," she said. Of course, there were other indicators, but no sense in divulging too much about her darker side. One did pick things up from being around some of the people she was friends with. However, a look of slight distaste crossed her face as his face got closer to the skull. She hoped he was not going to lick it; there was no telling what was on it.
Immediately, her eyes narrowed, and her fangs twitched slightly. The way that sounded was not something she liked. Rachele was exceedingly protective of her friends, and Hyo was definitely no exception. Was this the person he could've been referring to? She wouldn't doubt it. The smile on his face made her start to stew on the inside, but she also knew that she couldn't afford to lose it. Slowly, she started to relax her muscles and let her fangs retract. Then, she arched a brow as she licked her own lips. His scent was different, and there was a certain amount of curiosity inside of her to find out exactly what it was about his blood that was different. She was also curious how it would interact with Mathew's werewolf blood. "They are, but I won't lie. I am curious just how...potent your blood is. Still, there is plenty of time for experimenting."
Rachele was standing fairly close to Drystan now, so she could tell just how curious he appeared. What did it matter to him, really? Besides, if he was 'friends' with Hyo, shouldn't he know exactly what their status was in the relationship department. A slight hiss came out when he made a slur against vampires. There were some like that of course, but the same could be said of any of the races not just vampires. However, she managed to keep her voice steady as she spoke. "Hyo is my friend," she told him honestly. "I happen to be in a relationship already, and despite what you might think of vampires, I at least, am a one person sort of vampire." She wondered what he'd say to that, and again she wondered why he was so concerned.
Note: I am so sorry it took me forever and a day to get this up.
