This subject involves a mixture of Theory and
Practical classes, with some minor homework.

All students will be given a Protean Charm for notices.

Syllabus





Theory:
Introduction to Defence against the Dark Arts

Basic Theory or "Why Should You Stop the Bad *BLEEP*"

Rules of DADA Classes or "Don't Break These"

Note about Use Around School Grounds or "Why it is bad to do this in general around school"

Practical:
Light Sparks Charm (Verdimillious, Duo, Tria) or "Sparks reveal Bad Stuff"

Homework:
Mini-Article on one of: Phoenix, , Pixies, Werewolf, Vampire




Theory:

Defensive Magic 101 or "If they can't cast at all, they can't cast at you"

Practical:

Knockback Jinx (Flipendo) or "Flying without Brooms"

Disarming Spell (Expeliarmus) or "Where did Mr Wandy go?"

Homework: Practise on somebody willing (+2 points if it is funny)

O.W.L. Exam (theory is all, practical is all except not expected to do Patronus or Shield)
