Amanda looked up out of her pink bed. It was very bright, so she probably should get up. She did, and looked to her sides. Her friends Lily and Alice were still asleep. It was 8:00. Amanda stood up and got changed into jeans and her red sweater. She put her brown curls in a french braid down the back of her neck. She looked back at the beds. Alice and Lily were still asleep.
Amanda decided to feed their pets. Lily and Alice wouldn't mind. Especially if they woke up with angry animals growling at them. The owls and pygmy puffs always ate the same stuff. Lily's dog already had a full food bowl. Amanda had never fed a cat before. She hadn't the slightest idea what Lucy liked. Amanda concentrated hard, and she turned into her animagus kitten and asked Lucy. She wasn't hungry.
Amanda slipped on her shoes and left the room. After her breakfast of bacon and eggs, Amanda wandered around the school yard. After about ten minutes, she found an empty bench in the gardens. She sat down, and took out her book. It was called The Hunger Games. It was really good. She suddenly heard a noise. "Hello?" She said.

welcome to the good life, I GOT TO SHINE NOW THROW YOUR HANDS UP |
[/div] Kabes was awoken bright and early by her little owl, Lysander, the sweetheart. He had pecked at her fingers in hopes of a nice breakfast and she just rolled over, covering her head with her hot pink pillow. She wasn't exactly interested in early morning endeavors with the little creature. Especially on such a calm, relaxing, unstressful day like the one that presented itself in full. But of course, like his owner, Lys would continue to peck and poke her fingers. She tolerated it for as long as she could before realizing that she wasn't going back to sleep without giving the little owl a treat. She rolled over and hung her head over the side of her bed as she rummaged through her side table. It took her a few moments of grappling around the cupboard before she found the little glass jar full of owl treats. She popped it open and pulled out one that was heart shaped before snapping the jar shut again and tucking it away behind some of her old school books. She sat up and got comfortable under her duvet, letting the owl rest on her knees. She held the treat out between her thumb and forefinger before letting the owl snatch it in it's beak. She let out a little giggle and ran a slender finger along his wings. He cooed once he had finished his breakfast and hopped around, trying to get comfortable. Kabes couldn't remember the last time she had spent a little quality bonding time with Lysander. Or Locke, for that matter. Where was that blasted Pygmy Puff? No matter, she figured it had wandered about in the chamber again, searching for goodies. Her two roommates were still fast asleep in their beds and Kabes smiled. They had no care in the world now that they were currently unconscious to the world - it was a blessing, she felt. Tucking some of her messy wisps behind her ears, she tossed off her covers (startling Lysander quite a bit) and wandered over to her closet, which she opened slowly to avoid a loud creak, and pulled out the first thing she laid her hands on. It turned out to be one of the dresses her mother had designed and sent out to her. Her mother was beginning to sell clothes in the Vaufrèges which made Kabes feel more relieved - at least the family had some more income now. They were quite poor - with nine children, it was a little more impressionable. Kabes had been taught not to want for too much, but once she left home and began to save some galleons as prefect, she knew all too well the temptations of the villages and the boutiques that lay in the shadow of the Beauxbatons grounds. She had spent many an hour at the little shops in Paris as well, ogling the beautiful gowns and dresses. Perhaps in another life she could have designed fashion, who knows what the future truly held after all? Kabes pulled herself together and stuffed a few things into her bag. She felt it was high time that she joined Lysander in a stroll (or flight) around the palace towards the Owlery to get him home. She smiled and held out her hand which contained yet another treat - all the spoils for him! - and he eagerly nipped it from her palm and hooted gratefully when he was done. The pair left the dormitory, careful not to wake her serene friends, and wandered down towards the kitchens to grab a few bits and pieces for a little walk. She tucked some pieces of cheese and baguette away in her satchel (and they even threw in a croissant - what a treat) before heading out onto the grounds. It was a beautiful sunny day, the sun was very much higher in the sky and as she looked up at the giant clock tower, she noticed it was nearly ten now. She beamed, proud that she was up earlier than normal on a day when there were no classes, and headed to the gardens to see if any more flowers had bloomed while she had been busy with school and what not. She gleefully approached the pink buds as a few petals began to show on some whilst others were in full bloom. She had always adored cherry blossoms, knowing they just lit up the world wherever they were. She heard a little hoot and smiled when she saw Lysander given her a look as he flew off to the Owlery, leaving her alone in the gardens. She sighed peacefully, giving herself some time to refuel before her energy exploded and she became a firework filled with excitement, lollipops, rainbows and gum drops! She walked past a bush and brushed it with her bag. It seemed as though she wasn't alone as the moment it happened, someone's soft voice echoed a 'Hello?' out into the unknown of the gardens. Thankfully, Kabes was neither scared nor concerned as she did recognize the voice well. A fellow Cossu, Amanda was quite a sweetheart. Only a few years younger than herself, she was an absolute thrill to be around which was why Kabes bounded out eagerly from behind the trees and flowers and yelled, "Surprise!" followed by a fit of the mid morning giggles. At first, Amanda heard no reply. Perhaps it had been only her imagination. Yes. She'd probably just imagined the sound she had heard only a minute ago. Sometimes Amanda imagined that she was hearing voices. She'd tell Lily what she heard, but her friend would never have heard it. So that settled it. She had been hearing things.
She was drawing in the sand with a stick when "SURPRISE!!!!!" had been yelled, followed by a fit of giggles. Amanda looked up eagerly to see who this was. There, standing right in front of her, was Kabes! Kabes was a good friend of Amanda's. She was also great friends with Amanda's friend Jenna Hawthorne.
Amanda laughed at Kabes's surprise. She then stood up and smiled eagerly. She was really glad to see Kabes. She had been starting to get lonely. "Hello, Kabes!" She said. "How are you today?"
