[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 320px; height: 330px;] been a friend to me, AFTER THE PAIN HAS GONE AWAY |
Arden's bright eyes scanned the corridors as she took one foot and placed it gently in front of the other. It was late at night and she had been craving a snack. After grabbing a bite to eat from the kitchens which were, thankfully, not a far walk from the Sournois common room, she found herself facing a small predicament. Where was she? She looked this ways and that, trying to figure out if that gargoyle had been there when she had passed by about twenty minutes earlier. At this point, she didn't really care where she was, so long as she managed to find a way back to the common room before someone spotted her out of bed. She wasn't a huge fan of walking around and having no clue where she was going. It wasn't like it was her first time wandering the palace, as she did know where she was going most of the time. She had been at Beauxbatons for quite a while at this point, she just didn't want to get into too much trouble. Already her grades were slipping and she didn't want to push her reputation with the school over the edge, so far so that Beatrix would catch her and report back to their parents about her reckless behavior and how she ought to be removed and placed into Durmstrang or Hogwarts.
Arden quite liked Beauxbatons she decided, it had everything she needed and wanted in a school. She had her freedom to be herself and express herself to her full extent as the dress code wasn't nearly as strict as she had previously thought. Thankfully, she had come with a fairly large wardrobe to choose from. She hadn't gone to bed before her snack, so was currently dressed in the previous day's garb - a sleeveless summery blouse with a statement necklace, paired with some simple denim short shorts and various other things. On her hip, her satchel contained a few more midnight snacks where she'd store them for later. She wasn't quite sure if she'd get the chance, considering she had been wandering around the dungeons for what felt like hours when in reality it had only been about five or ten minutes. She huffed and leaned against one of the cool stone walls, sighing in frustration. Honestly, how hard could it be to get back to the common room? It was nearing three in the morning and she honestly couldn't wait to find her way back to her bed at this point, the cushions and covers welcoming her like there was no tomorrow. And if she didn't get back soon, the days would soon meld together. She was thankful that it was the last day of the school week so it would be the weekend, but it was an even better excuse to get back to her bed so she could wake up earlier and actually enjoy it instead of sleeping through it.
She groaned as she looked left and right - oh, to choose the direction from which she had just come or head forward to another one she didn't know much about. The decisions she had to make when her brain wasn't functioning properly were just the most frustrating. She chose to head back, perhaps she could retrace her steps to the kitchens and then figure out how to get back to the common room from there. It was likely the girl had simply skipped a turn when she had thought it was the third when it turned out to be the second. Who really knew? Regardless, she wished to return as soon as possible. The help of a prefect or upper year student would become handy at a point such as this, but of course she wasn't going to argue the fact. She ran a hand through her glossy auburn locks as she followed the torch lit corridors left and right and left again. She found herself at the entrance to the kitchens. Thankful that she had at least made it thus far, she turned around and began to attempt to make her way back to the Sournois common room, yet again.
