Tyler sat on his bed and looked down at his book. It was finished now. He finished that morning. It was a good book, he thought. He put it beside him and picked up some letters he wanted to mail to his family. He missed them a little. This school had so many people he didn't know where to begin. He put the letters in his bag and walked towards the clocktower which was almost twenty minutes away.
When he got there, he looked around and realized that he was in the wrong place. He didn't want to deliver the letters anymore so he stayed there instead. Luckily, he had another book with him so he sat down by a window and opened the cover. The book was one from the library, so it was old and about magic. He didn't know anything about magic so he was trying to learn as soon as possible.
He heard footsteps coming up the stairs and didn't bother looking up until he was sure there was someone else there. But then when he looked around, he didn't know the person at all. But he didn't want to say hello. That would be weird.

The cloak struck 12, As Lily chucked her inherited cloak of invisibility on top of her. She was prone to do night wanderings, and tonight seemed to be the perfect night for it. No one knew that behind the sweet young girl was a night wandering rule breaker. Lily smiled, and, leaving her snoring dorm mate Amanda, tiptoed out of the dorm.
She had made it to The Great Hall, and it was deserted. The full moon was shining on Lily's cloak, and the stars were doing its best to show. One thing that Lily knew is that as she is a Metamorphmagus (where you have the ability to change your appearance at will) she could also go around school with the appearance of a teacher. Lily laughed silently, it would be to risky. Lily took a right turn, and then headed up a tower.
Lily went quietly up the stairs with the cloak on. Then, she saw a boy Lily had seen before out of class there. She thought that the boy was only two or three years older then her. Lily quickly went out of sight for a second and took off the cloak. She didn't want the boy to get a fright when a girl suddenly turned up out of no where. He would think that Lily Apperated. Lily put the cloak in a bundle in her arms, then walked towards him. The boys expression was blank; unreadable, but Lily started talking first. "Hello, lovely night isn't it? What are you reading?" Lily sat down next to him and waited for an answer.

She had been up for two days now, staring longingly out her window. She'd been unable to dance for days now, and it was taking it's toll on her. Tiny damsel was dressed in plaid pajama pants and a tanktop, simple enough for a midnight stroll, right? But what to do.. the girl did throw on a hoodie before venturing outside, knowing the cold would drive her insane if she'd have to be out there for too long. Getting down and dirty was fine, but being in the cold was not. Browning curls caressed her face, covered by hands as she walked. It was difficult spending time alone, and now that she'd come here, it seemed like that's all she ever was. Nobody in particular enjoyed her company these days, but that was okay. Alone can be good sometimes, too.
Her travels lead her to the clocktower; and she stared upward at it's massive hull. Shane loved a good adventure, and had yet to explore. So, she slipped back inside the building, and to the stairs that would lead upstairs. It was a long, drawling journey up the stairs, and the entire time she tapped her fingers at her sides, hearing echoes of voices from the top. Someone else is up at this hour? the thought made her smile, and she continued forth with a certain cheeriness that nobody should have at midnight. The stairs tired her out, finally reaching the top and peaking through to the two people who rested inside.
I'm sorry! am I intruding on something?! she questioned, frazzled. She didn't know people came up here to regularly hangout, unless this was just a chance meeting. Making friends was so hard sometimes, and she awkwardly stepped all the way through the frame where a door would normally be, biting her lip and crossing her arms on her chest. Shyly, she smiled. I--I, uh. I'm Shane, who are you guys? New I assume! as she listened to herself, her confidence lowered. In all honestly, she was far from social. Awkward, actually. I'm pretty new here, too.

The boy said nothing, maybe he was wrapped up in his own thoughts and didn't hear Lily. She sat next to the boy and did nothing. It was a lovely clear night, and Lily would do anything do star gaze. But when she turned to move, her body or legs didn't seem to want to. Lily turned back to face the boy, and he had not acknowledged her nor said Hello. Lily did not really mind, some of her friends were like that.
Suddenly, Lily could hear footsteps, coming up towards them fast. What if it was a Professor? What if it was the Headmistress? If a staff member had found them here...Lily whipped the cloak from behind and pulled it on the boy and herself. "Don't make a sound. It could be anyone. When you are under this cloak, one cannot see you." Lily stayed silent, with the footsteps growing louder and louder, and closer and closer. Then, Lily could see the figure completely. It was a girl Lily had not seen before. The girls back was all that could be seen, so the girl had not seen them yet. Lily quickly whipped the cloak off the two people and put it next to her. The girl that moment faced them, looking slightly shocked that two people were up at this time of night.
"I'm sorry! am I intruding on something?! I--I, uh. I'm Shane, who are you guys? New I assume!" Then, after a pause. "I'm pretty new here, too." Lily stood up. "Hi, no your not intruding on anything. I have only just got here. I am Lily and I have been here for nearly two months, so I am quite new as well."

First, he was sitting alone and then the next moment he knew he was sitting next to some curious, weird, talkative blond girl. He glanced at her through his peripheral vision, but didn't much think of this person. She was being friendly enough, but it interrupted his reading. He kept his eyes trained on the words on the page instead. It wasn't long until he was greeted by yet another person. This one was also a girl, but before she made it to the top of the stairs, the blond one seemed to be nervous and took a cloak to cover him up too. He wasn't very comfortable with this, but he wasn't about to turn and tell her to leave him alone, so instead he kept his mouth shut. The cloak did nothing to block the light on the page, so he was OK.
Why was everyone so surprised to be awake? thinking it was late? He glanced at his watch and saw that it was only four. Apparently, people tended to not notice the time. Oh well. He shrugged. When the cloak finally came off, Tyler felt comfortable enough to breathe normally again and took a peak at the guest. She looked surprised to see a boy and a girl sitting together. Strange, how automatic it was to see that led to thoughts of their relationship status. It seemed as though girls cared about relationships more than he had previously thought.
The girls began to introduce themselves and he realized that they were both new, like him. He wasn't sure how to mention that, but at the same time he knew he wasn't going to focus on his book any longer. He didn't want to talk to them really. They seemed nice though. If he said something he was likely to ruin any possibility of a friendship or something.

Lily suddenly felt a bit awkward. No one was saying anything, just standing in silence. Lily was probably the most talkative one, but she had no club what to say to break this silence. Her blue and white checkered dress was getting dusty, but Lily didn't care.
Lily checked the time on her watch. 4:00am?! Lily is going to be exhausted later on today, but then again its the weekend, and its not as if Lily is suddenly going to get lessons of a weekend, is it?
Still silence, and Lily had had enough. She turned to face Shane. "So..Shane. What brings you up here at this hour?" Lily asked out of curiosity, but didn't ask the boy anything as she knew he would stay silent.
