Her mother, Yu Ni Han, is a seer origin and a great one at that, but she tries not to use her skills too much, but rather concentrates on her real job, bank accountant in South Korea. Her father, Horacio (Miguel) León, is a shaman though and for living contacts spirits at times, but mostly gathers and makes different kinds of herbs. She also has an older brother, Aarón (Javier) León, who’s four years older than her. As kids the two never really got along, but after their little sister’s death he’s been the one to support her when her parents didn’t. Ah, yes, little sister. Adelina Elvira León. Adelina was only four years old when she accidentally drowned while Aria was supposed to keep watch on her, but Aria (who was twelve back then) had just made friends with a popular girl group and found texting and calling with them more important, mostly because she felt desperate to get such friends in order to not be bullied anymore at school (she was overweight in elementary school). Too late she noticed that her little sister was missing. For a few days there was a search party looking for Adelina before she was found drowned in a river nearby their house. Her parents claimed they didn’t blame her, but that it was their fault for trusting in her. Hint hint, huh? Her brother though noticed how hard this all was for her and that she blamed herself for it too which why he showed to her that she could trust him and that he didn’t think it was her fault. That’s how the two became actually quite close, but a year later he was sent to a boarding school, so she barely saw him anymore. They did write to each other.
Her little sister’s death had quite an impact on her. She barely ate thus lost weight and almost became anorectic. She soon found out that she adored jogging and running which why she also joined her school’s track team. Although she had always liked drawing and was very good at it, she still found running much more enjoyable and it became more than a hobby; it became a dream. She wanted to become a professional one day. She can also sing (she has quite great voice actually), but she very rarely does so. Running is the only thing she believes in. Her sister’s death and her parents reaction to it also made her say goodbye to her sweet, kind nature and instead became actually quite mean and a bit of a bully. She became the one people wanted to be friends with, but she refused to accept anyone really, except some random sidekicks to boss around.
She’s a shaman from her father’s side. She can contact spirits and let one posses her too. She can control her shaman powers quite well now, although she’s no good with herbs. She knows some though, because her father has taught her and often as a kid she followed him around and watched as he worked. But no, that’s really not her strong side. If you ask her to make something you’ll probably just get some kind of poison. But spirits… she’ll contact your late relative if she likes you enough well. When she was six years old she was possessed by a spirit the first time and she hadn’t even known it was possible back then, because her parents had never told her anything really, so it really freaked her out. And even after that she was left alone to learn how to control her skills. She’s pretty much self-taught.
Aria’s mother is a seer (she’s Jae Syun Jun’s mother’s sister btw) instead and she’s quite skillful in divination because of this. In order to see into the future she uses mirrors/reflections (this is why she pretty much always carries a hand mirror with her) and she can also read tarot cards. Again, she can check out your future for you if she likes you. And even if she doesn’t like you… she might pretend to do so, but most likely will not really do it and just come up with random stuff to scare you off and make you upset.
So yup, now she’s quite the mischief maker; lying about reading your future, asking to draw your picture kindly, but draws a caricature of you instead of anything pretty, and she laughs if you fall or hurt yourself. Eh, only if you’re not close to her and it’s somewhat hard to get close to her, because she’s so deep inside her shell and doesn’t let anyone all that easily in. She finds it hard to trust people. But hey, you’re free to try! She can actually be quite fun to hang out with.
How did she end up in Beauxbatons? She first went to an all-girls witchcraft school Haneul in South Korea, but she got expelled from there because of misbehavior and her parents decided to send her a bit further away. They liked the idea of her going to school in Europe and eventually they picked France and that’s how she ended up in Beauxbatons.
