It was a beautiful evening. The moon shone brightly in the sky, and a light breeze moved gently through the trees. Everything was bathed in a soft glow, and a calm feeling radiated throughout the grounds. There didn't seem to be any beings about, but that was alright with Silas. After all, tonight he was looking for a bit of privacy with his wife. It had been quite some time since they had seen one another, and it was driving him absolutely crazy. The connection they had shared before he had been turned had been astounding. After the transformation, the bond had increased even more. It made being without her unbearable, so tonight was exactly what he needed. Tonight, he would get to see the best thing that had ever come into his life.
It was unusual for the couple to go this long without seeing one another. At least, it had been unusual after he transformed. Before, he had been incredibly sickly, and that had been a difficult thing to cope with as it meant he had to take extended periods away from socialization. This time, he had been called away by family things. It had been a little unexpected, but it had gone better than he had hoped for. Now, he was just in a rush to see Gene. The moment he had returned he had sent her a letter.
Dearest Gene, Love, I am so sorry for being gone for so long. Family matters came up without warning, and I had to go. Things went well, and I am now back. Please, meet me at Moonstone Bridge at ten. I need to see you, darling. It has been too long. I will be waiting in great anticipation.
Love, Silas
After sending it, he had worried that he had been a bit too formal, but Gene knew how he spoke. Formality was just his way. Of course, he wasn't nearly as formal as when they first met. It had taken quite a long time for him to call her just Gene instead of Miss Gene. Habits were just hard to break; his parents had raised him to be polite especially to ladies. It was something that he always tried to follow especially with Gene. She was his one in a million and once in a lifetime. Therefore, he wanted to treat her in the way she deserved to be treated.
He had arrived at the bridge a little earlier than he had said. There were a few touches that he wanted to add as it had been a while since they had met. There were a few floating candles along the bridge, and he had set up a blanket with some pillows for them to sit on. He also had a small gift for her from his family and a single red rose in his hand. As he waited, he worried about whether or not things were just right. He always wanted things perfect for Gene. "All this time, and she still makes me nervous," he mused out loud.

Gene just shouldn’t be left to listen to the thoughts in her head. Leaving her alone was like locking a person in a padded room. She pretty much sat in her room while Silas was gone, leaving only to take out her frustrations on some poor innocent animals in the forest. Where was he? Was he getting her back for her leaving him so unexpectedly all those months ago? Genevieve was going mad with worry and anger all at the same time. She thought they were in a good place; she had changed him after all, finally after many months of late night conversations and over 4 years together. The morning was dragging on as she sat on her bed in a loose powder blue top and short denim shorts until she heard a sound toward her window and spotted an envelope falling onto her desk. She raised a thin eyebrow, wondering who in the world would be sending her a letter. She swung her legs off the side of her bed and padded barefoot across the cold floor to pick up the envelope. The moment she saw the scrawl across the front, she knew whom it was from. Genevieve scowled, filled with happiness and annoyance simultaneously. After all this time, he wanted to write to her now? She ripped open the envelope and pulled the note out, her blue eyes scanning the words.
Love, Silas
Oh, she was going to go to Moonstone Bridge tonight, but she was going to make it hell for him. How dare he leave her without so much of a word when just a few months ago, she had done the same for a year? Did he not think about how it would affect her knowing that she was so immensely guilty for having done it to him? She didn’t want to see him, but she needed to see him. She needed to give him a piece of her mind. At a quarter to ten, Genevieve left her dormitory and made her way to the bridge. She hoped Silas had been waiting there for a long time, wondering if she was even going to come. She smiled inwardly at her thoughts, both because she was acting incredibly immature about all of this but also because she knew there was no way she could ever be mad at him. Silas was so unbelievably perfect and he could really do no wrong. The only wrong he had ever done was almost let Noemi kiss him, and he made up for that by proposing to her under the moonlight but the lake. Seriously, he was so impossibly romantic and she loved him despite all of his flaws.
The bridge was in the distance and she could make out the shape of her husband as well as the blanket and pillows he had laid on the wood for the two of them to sit. She fought back a smile, fully intending to march on over to him with a scowl on her face so he would know just how much he pissed her off. That all changed when she heard his musical voice say “All this time and she still makes me nervous”. That was it. All that anger she thought she felt inside melted away into a puddle at her feet. ”All this time and, no matter how hard I try, I can never ever be upset with you,” she replied, knowing he had probably heard her approach before the words even escaped her lips.

Just as the butterflies in his stomach had reached their highest point, the sound of someone coming shook him from his thoughts. Before she had even started to speak, Silas could tell that it was Gene. Her scent came across him, and he felt a complete wave of calm come over him. Oh, he was still nervous as he always was when he got to see her, but the hole that he had felt without her started to fill in. Being away from one another now seemed even more difficult than when he had been mortal. It was the bond the two of them had. He wondered if other vampire couples had this phenomenon, but there was nobody to ask. Now, as he listened to the soothing and beautiful sound that was Gene's voice, he knew he definitely would need to do some explaining.
Slowly he turned to face his wife. Immediately, he felt himself melt. She was completely breathtaking. It didn't seem to matter how long they had known one another or how he was feeling, she always stopped him in his tracks. If it was possible, she just kept getting more stunning to him. "Gene," he whispered before he was at her side. His arms wrapped around her and held her close. The hand with the rose went up to her hair and gently stroked it. For just a few moments, he just wanted to feel that they were close. It had been so long and been so hard to be away from her. Finally, he drew back with a smile. "This is for you," he said extending the rose out to her.
He took a deep breath. "You would have every right to be upset with me. I didn't know I'd be going, but as soon as I left I should have let you know." He hung his head slightly. He felt extremely bad about how he had left. Of all people, he knew how it was to be left, and he had not wanted to do that to her. Hopefully she would forgive him, though he wouldn't blame her if she was actually angry with him for a while. Still, he would do his best to make things up to her. "I am sorry. I hope you can forgive me, but I understand if you can't right away." He paused as he looked down at her. "I love you, Gene," he whispered.
Again he stood silent for a moment. There was so much to tell her both about his visit and just about how he felt. He knew that she knew he loved her, but there were so many things he wished he was able to say in words. He just got so tongue tied. Silently he gestured to the pillows that he had set up for them among the candles. After another moment, he finally spoke again. "It was a family thing," he started out. Of course, she could probably have guessed that since he didn't get sick anymore. "[/b]Once the thing passed, I stayed for a few days to talk to them about things.[/b]" He was sure that she could guess what that was about as well.
Note: I'm happy to have you back. Wasn't as long as I intended.[/size]

••• cuz’ all I know is we said “hello”and you’re eyes look like coming home ••• ••• summer, ten pm, moonstone bridge•••
Just as Silas turned to face her, Genevieve was, once again, taken aback by her husband’s appearance. She was quite unsure of how long, if ever, it would take to finally be used to her husband’s new features since becoming a vampire. It had been months since the two of them arranged the entire event, Gene deciding that she would be the one to change him from the mortal he was to the immortal monster that was now Silas Heldon Demont. His hazel eyes glistened as he took in the sight of his small, lithe life partner and she couldn’t help but allow her blue eyes to flicker down to her feet in embarrassment. He always looked at her as if he had found all the answers to this life in her eyes and Genevieve, who after being married to him for over 2 years, still was not used to it. He had looked at her that way when they were both human as well, so Genevieve knew it wasn’t because of how she looked now that she was a vampire. Silas always thought of his wife as the most beautiful being in the world.
Before Gene could lift to her eyes to meet the gaze of her husband once more, he was at her side, his muscular arms wrapping themselves around her tiny waist and the whisper of her name escaping his lips. She fought back the smile that tried form on her pale lips, wanting, just for a second, to look angry with Silas for having left her without so much of an explanation. That all failed when his hand reached up to her hair, stroking it gently and rose was presented before her. Roses were her favorite flower, second only to peonies, but those were not in season. She couldn’t fight it any longer. She smiled, reaching her delicate hand out to the rose, feeling the thorns against her fingers and taking in the strong scent of the flower. It was perfect, almost as though it had completely been formed from magic to be so impossibly perfect.
You would have every right to be upset with me. I didn't know I'd be going, but as soon as I left I should have let you know. I am sorry. I hope you can forgive me, but I understand if you can't right away. I love you, Gene
The blonde sighed, grabbing her husband’s hand and leading his over to the blankets, pillows and candles Silas had set up. She lowered herself to the ground, placing the flower to the side, and turned herself back to face her husband. Of course she had to forgive him, not only because he was her husband and she loved him unconditionally, but also because he had forgiven her for all the wrongs she had done. The two of them had their faults and certainly had put each other through almost every ring of hell since they’ve been together. He continued though, not even stopping his explanation for a second.
It was a family thing. Once the thing passed, I stayed for a few days to talk to them about things.
That had surprised her enough to finally speak. “You told them? So soon? Silas, that was dangerous to do on your own. You are still so new…you could have killed someone,” she told him, a hint of anger in her voice. “Why couldn’t I have gone with you? I could have made sure you were under control.” Gene closed her eyes, pressing her forefinger and middle finger to the bridge of her nose, trying to calm herself down. He was very calm and controlled for a newborn vampire, but what if something had happened and he lost himself for a second? A second was enough to kill any one of his family members and she would then have to deal with Silas being depressed for the rest of his existence with her. She opened her eyes after a few minutes. “I’m sorry. I just worry about you is all.” She grabbed his hand and held it in hers. “So tell me everything.”

A soft smile came across the new vampire's face at Gene's reaction to seeing him. Though he could not understand why she would be embarrassed, he did think that she looked quite cute when she was feeling that way. She was so extraordinarily magical to him. He wondered if she knew the effect she had. Perhaps she did at least a little, but he doubted whether it was completely. The way she looked at him, he still wasn't use to. Compared to her, he didn't feel at all the way she seemed to think. However, he couldn't deny how special he felt that she did look on him that way. They were both so wrapped up in one another, but he was sure that neither of them knew just how much.
Though he felt certain that she was upset with him, Silas did feel some consolation in the fact that she did smile about the flower. It was one of the first special spells he had learned, and it had actually been for Gene. Other than his mother, he never made flowers for anyone else. Gene was the special one in his life, and he wanted her to feel as such. Knowing how he had probably made her feel these past months, he knew he had a lot of work to do to make up for it. That was something that he knew he could do. He didn't want a day to go past when he didn't tell her how he felt, and he would make sure to show her as well. She deserved so much, and he wanted to try and give as much as he could to his lovely Gene.
He followed Gene's lead over to their special setup. Slowly he lowered himself next to her. He felt truly terrible for what he had done. Yes, she had gone off in the past, but that was no excuse for him doing it as well. She should've received at the very least, an owl telling what had happened. Instead, she had been left, and from experience he knew the feeling was not a good one. Though his words were coming out alright, he was quaking on the inside. He didn't know what to expect from all this especially about him going out and telling his family. It had to be done, and while had planned on waiting a while before divulging things to them, the opportunity had presented itself.
The tone of voice from Gene made Silas look down at the ground. That thought hadn't even occurred to him. Yet another signifying sign that he was still quite young. "Yes," he said rather quietly. "I didn't think about it. They sent an owl asking me to come home, so I went. I rather forgot that I was a vampire." What a thing to forget. He still couldn't believe he had; it would've been so easy for him to have slipped and made life very complicated. "I didn't mean to leave you out, and I hadn't even planned on telling them. After I got home and the danger passed, I remembered that I should probably tell them and the whole thing just spilled out."
Silence fell over the two of them as Gene held the bridge of her nose. It was clear that she was angry, and he couldn't blame her. Of all the things to forget and to not think about. She had been very careful and kind with helping him get used to things. Had any sort of accident occurred, it would've been a great disservice to her. "I know you do, darling," he told her softly. "Well, one of my relatives was quite ill, and we were afraid that he was going to die. Luckily the healers were able to help him." The next part was harder to tell. He knew that it was the part that both of them had most been anxious about.
