At the back of the Ancient Runes classroom looms a large, and quite clearly archaic, grey stone arc. Its frame, adorned with a litany of runic symbols, appears as a stark contrast to the plain space within its definition, with the exception of five small icons reflecting individual symbols in an electric blue hue.
Those with the ability to decipher the text quickly realise it is a runic anagram for the word 'Enter'. When the stones are touched in the correct order, the imposing stone frame dislodges with a gravely groan to expose a tight spiral staircase rising into darkness. After mere moments of climbing light floods into the stoney cylinder containing the stairs to reveal Jaime's spacious office. One benefit to being the Ancient Runes professor was assuming the turret at the top of the tower as her living, and private working quarters. The office has two floors, the second is reached by continuing up on the spiral staircase, and is adorned with richly elegant windows, each bedecked with long sweeping curtains and rows of books on the windowsills. There are no plants, or living organisms in the office, mostly due to the fact that any living creature Jaime has ever been charged with has reached an untimely demise. However, books on Ancient Runes, Symbolism, Curse Breaking and Magical Art History seemingly line every square inch of wall space. An assortment of muggle trinkets is dispersed across the room, from handcrafted pipe tobacco rolled in long pink cylinders to singing jewellery boxes and even what muggles call a telephone (despite Jaime's attempts at making the latter object work, its purpose in her office has remained purely decorative).
Her desk is rich, wooden and intricately embellished with carved symbols, mythical creatures and a minute wooden guardian to discourage unwanted to access to the documents lazily strewn over her desk. Soft woollen blankets sit on the warm welcoming sofa and on the one book-less windowsill, while on the left wall of the office a large gilded mirror watches over with glittering marvel. The white painted fire-place produces much of the comfort in the office and warms the quintessentially french decor while, above on the second floor, french double doors come into view. Through those guarded doors sits Jaime's private quarters, inaccessible to students and staff without her permission.
