She had been weak. Forced to her knees to look in the hands of her maker--hatred was the only thing she had made out. Disappointment from the eyes of those she possibly loved. But how silly the thought; Marceline James, loving something other than herself? She can't explain the sadness that writhes within her, and so a mere bat of a lash and she's transformed. Arrogant, what she's been all along. But it's worse now, she's never happy. Just a complicated mess. In some ways, she's okay. But the loud children around her just make that fire bigger, the one that burns in her chest. It makes her breath sting and swallows hard, a gut wrenching feelings she wishes to tear from her chest. Alas, she can't. It's there and has no intention of leaving. So be it. The halls aren't much quieter, but Marceline focused on one thing: pitter patter of her shoes to the wood floor. Almost relaxing, really. But she knows she needs peace.
She was a goddess among mortals, especially back home. So delicate and smooth, yet almost poisonous. To associate is to destroy, that's how the majority finds her. And now she's broken goods, almost unworthy. Judgment spews from all corners of the room, knowing eyes take notice as dainty legs pad against open floor. Some place quiet. Her only option is the auditorium, which sat not far up on her right. A place where even the hall seemed deserted. Nobody tread there, it was getting later and later. Marceline stands before the doors and exhales; it's sharp, quick. Doors open and she slips inside as if she's being chased, she wanted alone time. That's what she got. It's dark, almost eerie. Dim lights flicker on in the back, just enough to allow you to see what you're doing. But she doesn't bother turning the others on, its too comforting.
The woman is left sitting on the stage, legs curled beneath her and finger tips tracing the healing scars left on her wrists. Stupid, Stupid, stupid she thinks, signing once again. This time she felt defeated, like the stress and pressure had won. But it hadn't. No matter how tricky things could get, the doe-eyed girl had an escape. She was not foolish nor stupid, but mislead. Neglected because of her own ignorance and lack of heart towards others. But why should she care? Nobody ever stuck their neck out for her. Nobody wanted anything besides money, temporary fame and her intoxicating words. It was all the same back home. A place she both loved and lost. Stupid, stupid. her voice was soft and careful, carried out in the slightest against a high ceiling and low curtains. For a moment, she wonders why she ever came here. But she knows, Marceline knows exactly why.

The night breathed through his dorm like a dark animal. The ticking of a clock. The groan of a floor board as he slipped out of his room. All was drowned by its utter silence. But Mathew loved the night. Or at least the night loved him. He felt the night on his skin like a promise or an old friend. Like a cloak from freedom and all danger. The night provided for him. It was a welcoming feeling that washed over his whole body when the sun became dim and the moon lit up the sky. Mathew had taken this chance to escape from his imploding dorm walls. It was as if his room was getting smaller and smaller around him and no matter his efforts to keep his mind busy and away from what his near future held for him.
Mathew had not been able to sit still for the past week. None but a few select individuals knew the exact cause of his impatience. For only a few knew his darkest secret. It was the waxing moon that was causing the current disruptions in his life. It was the reason that he pacing the school like a mad man. His hands twitched uncontrollably however, when he passed a fellow pupil he calmed the urges and plastered on a content face. No one could ever know that once a month he turned into a monster. No one could ever know that he was not who he said he was. He was a liar when one reached to the core of what they were.
Mattie did his best to skate by the students who he knew would call out for his company. The halls were still bustling even in these latening hours. Classes were beginning to start up again soon and his schoolmates were attempting to fit in the last few days of socialization before it was time to buckle down again. It was only when he heard the familiar caw of a young girl who he had merely escaped the clutches of once before. It was as if the sound of her screeching his name was heard above all other noises. Mathew’s mix matched eyes crawled quickly over the room searching for his escape. Searching for his way out. A hidden door, a secret passageway. He would take anything at this point to escape the horror that was to follow if she muscled her way through the small crowd and reached her destination. There was only one door close enough for him to make a quick retreat. Mathew carefully opened the door and slipped inside being careful to fully shut the door behind him. He even took a moment to ensure that he locked it. He couldn’t take the chance to allow her to follow him.
Once he was safely inside he knew immediately what he had walked into. The backstage entrance to the auditorium. When he was a first year he had walked right on this very stage and preformed in Phantom of the Opera with Bella and Axelle. It had been many years since he had pranced towards the spotlight since then. However, he was sure that the lights were never suppose to be on without it being occupied. Mathew took a few cautious steps towards the front of the stage, his shoes tapping on the hardwood. It was only when he rounded the curtain that he saw that it was in fact not unoccupied. He peered down to the small doll knelt below him. ”You performing for me tonight?” Mr. Amherst’s voice was gruff and almost violent tonight, however his soft, bright and understanding smile told her that he was not in the threatening mood this evening.
