It was a completely glorious day outside. The sun shone brightly and a nice breeze was blowing lazily through the trees. A few clouds drifted across the sky, and the grounds of Beauxbatons were alive with students. It was the kind of day that Rachele enjoyed immensely. Of course, it had been a little easier when she had been mortal. Now she had to make sure she had had some protection. She wondered why it was that she had a reaction to too much sun and others did not. Still, she had to admit that she felt lucky that she could still venture out in the sun at all. There were others that were not that lucky.
After making sure that she had covered herself in sun block, she hesitated as she reached for her parasol. She felt as though she had put on enough protection to be safe, and she had her sunglasses. Besides, it felt as though her parasols were becoming a bit of a safety blanket for her which was not what she wanted. A minute more debate, and her parasol was left leaning against her bed. Today, she was going to attempt to be out in the sun for the first time without it. It was time to find out if she really needed it as much as she thought. Quickly, she grabbed her wand and put her sunglasses on before sweeping out of the room. Though she was in no real hurry, she didn't want to second guess her decision.
It didn't take long for her to reach the entrance to the castle. Once she had, she took a quick look around. There were any people out by the lake and in many other popular hang out places. Briefly, she considered heading to the peak, but it was a little too exposed there. After a moment, her eyes settled on the gardens. Immediately a smile came across her face. There were so many fond memories there, and it was one of her favorite places. Plus, there was plenty of shade from some of the plants should she need to hide. Yes, the gardens seemed like the perfect place, so without further debate or hesitation, Rachele set off for the lush area that was her goal.
The moment she entered, she felt an overwhelming sense of peace sweep over her. She took a moment simply to inhale the lovely fragrances coming from the flowers as well as some of the more exotic plants. Then, she took a quick glance at her skin. So far it seemed that she was in the clear, but to be on the safe side she began to look for a little sheltered spot. It didn't take long before she found one. There was a decent amount of shade being given by some tall plants that she was unfamiliar with but that had flowers the size of her fist. Carefully, she lowered herself under the beautiful smelling plant and laid with her hands tucked underneath her head. Her mind began to wonder when she heard the unmistakable sound of another person. Immediately, she propped herself up. "Hello?" she ventured.
