since she was very young, addie has been an introvert. however, she usually isn't shy. when given good reason to, addie is very skilled at starting and continuing conversations, especially when it involves a topic she likes. addie doesn't like to waste time with superfluous conversation or conversational formalities, which has given her minor trouble in the past. if given the chance, she could speak about one of her favorite topics for longer than she'd care to admit. unfortunately, addie's passionate nature remains hidden to most; many don't understand why she cares for certain topics, don't have the patience, or are a little put off by her lack of social formalities.
adeline has always been very good at making friends and getting people to open up to her. sadly, though, she has problems keeping them. addie enjoys talking, going to parties and having fun with others, but she can only take interaction in small doses. an all night party would definitely be difficult for her to handle. addie can't take being around people for very long, as it drains her energy. she has been involved in athletic activities, such as football [American soccer] and gymnastics, for most of her life. despite addie's attempts to prove herself otherwise, she certainly needs her alone time to rest and take everything in. while alone, adeline loves to read and write. her mind is always filled with thoughts and ideas that she wants to get down on to paper. her thoughts are not always positive, though, and that poses quite a problem for her.
while alone, it is safe to say addie is usually in her head. she thinks and thinks and thinks about herself and people around her. she has had problems in the past with self esteem and body image, which has only worsened with depression. addie tends to be very self conscious and is rarely inclined to share anything about herself. once she feels she can trust, she slowly opens herself up and cautiously lets herself be known. adeline is slow to trust, unfortunately, which makes a lot of her friendships fairly shallow. she hides most of who she is because the thought of closeness frightens her. despite this, addie is that she is probably the biggest sweetheart you would ever meet, but she tends to hold back a lot of her thoughts and feelings. addie worries about how people perceive her, which makes socializing emotionally difficult. it is because of these problems, for the most part, addie is very interested in psychology. she loves learning about the mind, how people think, and why people do the things they do. addie has learned that, just as for her as for most people, the past has as much of an effect on her as the present.history :not finished.
