It was after he heard the faint sound of someone moving around that he woke up with a start. He was actually sleeping pretty lightly, despite having fallen to bed pretty early the night before. When he woke up though it was dawn and already everyone was getting ready to go out to participate in the hiking activity that was scheduled for today. Rubbing his eyes warily he set about to getting dressed, and instead of bringing a large rucksack like a few other people were taking with him, he clipped a smaller bag around his waste. Easier to carry around and more practical, in his ever valued opinion, naturally. Out of everything though it took him the most time to find the list he'd been assigned with for the day, and of course it was one of the most neccessary things to bring with him. And after raiding through his bag and practically littering his stuff everywhere, he found it, underneath everything else.
"Erm... best be off!" he said, a nervous laugh escaping him as he surveyed the mess, then simply turned and ran out of there as fast he could before anyone could see the disaster in his wake. Maybe Yuki would come back later and see it, and maybe his beloved wifey would do him the honor of tidying it up for him! ....he didn't put much stock in the idea though. He had a dry look in his eyes at the thought as he trundled down the trail, leaving the tent in his wake. Lots of people were bustling around him, shouting and running in all directions. Fortunately though, there were some sane people like himself who were just taking their time and not acting desperate enough to act like maniacs.
After a while he felt like he'd gotten far enough to stop. He didn't even know who his partner was either, though he had no doubt in thinking it was someone he didn't know before. Oh, he hoped that Yuki would have been assigned with someone he knew at least. The last thing he wanted was for Yuki to get eaten by a bear or something while the other person wasn't looking, although it would probably be worse if they were.... Violently shaking his head to clear his mind, a clear mind and a clear soul works wonders after all, though both usually weren't as clear or as pure as he'd like to him. Instantly though his gaze fell upon at least one of the things they needed, and simply bent down to pick up the daisy. Well that's one thing at least, the ashwinder eggs and mandrake seeds would be far more harder to get. Perhaps he should have gone off to find those before his partner showed up instead of a single daisy. It was after all, a gentleman-like thing to do, to find the dangerous things first and leave the easier task to the female. But alas, was a bit late for that now, and he didn't even know if his partner was a boy or girl anyway, so all he could do for now was wait.

It was very rare that Jenna actually got up early in the morning. The raven haired girl had been up at six because there was a scavenger hunt happening and she didn't want to turn up late and miss her partner. Jen's normal waking up time was eight or nine so six was a very rare luxury. That and it was only the first night she had slept in the cot that the organisers of camp bb had provided. The cot wasn't as comfy as her bed back in the dorm but it wasn't uncomfortable either. She had been so engrossed in her book, Jen hadn't noticed that Zoe had already left and the rest of her tent mates were still sleeping.
The sixteen year old had slept in the grey vest top she had been wearing the day before and a pair of yellow linen sleep shorts. Standing up from her current position of lying on her bed, Jenna tiptoed over to the large area at the back of the tent, so as not to disturb her sleeping tentmates and pulled a black vest top, a pair of jeans and her purple vans out of her holdall (which she had moved so as not to be in the way the night before). Jenna knew that she couldn't go on this hiking trip in her pyjamas so she changed into the vest top and jeans before slipping her sock-covered feet into her vans. The last thing she did was fasten her prized heart locket around her neck and then grabbed her black mini backpack from the holdall. Making sure the list of things that her and her unknown partner had to find was safely in her pocket, Jen pulled the straps of the bag onto her shoulders and headed out of the tent to start the hiking adventure.
The raven haired girl waited around the campsite for a couple of minutes before she figured that he was probably still waking up. It was seven am after all. Heading down the first path of the trail, Jen decided to take it slowly and just enjoy the woods and the nature around it. Figuring that most of the trees around the trail would be enchanted, Jen quickly rose up onto her tiptoes underneath the nearest tree and picked a couple of enchanted tree leaves from it. Placing the leaves into one of the jars in her backpack, Jenna then zipped the bag up and continued down the trail. The only real thing that Jen knew about her partner was that his name was Roy Mustang. As she carried on up the trail, she noticed a boy not far from her bend down and pick up a white flower. Heading over to the boy, who had now stood up, Jen quickly tapped him on the arm. "Hi there. Are you Roy Mustang?" Jen asked curiously, silently hoping that she had found the right person. "I'm supposed to be paired up with him for this hiking trip but i have no clue who he is." The girl continued, realising that she had sort of rambled. Playing with a lock of raven hair, Jen decided that instead of an awkward silence (which she secretly loathed), she was going to strike up a conversation. "I'm guessing you bending down just there meant you found the daisy. I've got the enchanted tree leaves, so that means just three more to go." The girl rambled, still twirling a strand of hair around her finger.

Roy hadn't been waiting long, only a few seconds in fact, when he felt a small tap on his arm, causing him to turn to see a young girl looking at him. He blinked for a moment as he absorbed her question, then quickly grinned. "That's right!" he said quickly, sounding as relieved as he felt. "And you must be... Jenna, right?" As he spoke he ended up grappling for the parchment in his jeans pocket that contained the list of items and his partner's name. Shockingly enough, when he'd put the list in his pocket he had quickly browsed it and then shoved it away before he even had a chance to remember half of it. His memory did tend to run away with him at times, unfortunately. He carefully considered the parchment again, reading it more carefully before folding it up with a chuckle and then putting it away again. "Sorry about that, but yeah, you found me quickly enough anyway." With one hand, he reached up to tousle his dark mess of hair, before lowering it again and becoming slightly more relaxed. Of course meeting new people was never a problem for him, although forgetting someone's name or mistaking them or not knowing who they were in general, just like it would be for almost anyone, he presumed.
They fell into an almost silence for about a minute, before Jenna broke the ice again, which he was somewhat thankful for. He didn't much like silences either, and had to either talk or do something foolish to fill the gap between each person's words. "Excellent, so three more to go... meaning the more dangerous ones. You up for that then?" For a moment he sized her up and nodded, she seemed like a capable enough girl. "I suppose if you take Herbology that would come in handy for two of them. As for the ashwinder..." He knew the basics of what snakes like them were like, and since fire was his specialty it was almost perfect for him. And like the model headboy he was, he had a habit of skipping classes, but even if that wasn't the case, Herbology seemed like such a trying subject for him. It was during times like this when he wished that wasn't the case. "We'll need to find a fire for the ashwinder eggs though.." He trailed off as he stopped to think, then a smirk curved his lips as an idea struck him. He speedily unzipped the bag attached to his waist and deposited the daisy into it, and closed it up again.
"Follow me," he said smoothly as he turned and walked around her, intending to head back nearer to the camp, casting one look back over his shoulder to see if she was following. Soon he came to the fire pits where the bonfire was to be held. Roy abruptly halted upon reaching the closest he could to the pit without actually going in. Of course the bonfire hadn't been lit yet, but surely they had used fire around this place before, maybe a test run of the bonfire or something... His dark eyes flitted around the wood and the soil surrounding the structure, until after a little while his eyes fell upon what looked to be several clusters of small eggs. Without another delay, he hopped over the fence that blocked off entrance to the bonfire and scooped up a few of the eggs. Strangely enough, there were no adult ashwinders in sight, possibly all dead at this point, as there were quite a lot of eggs and the snakes themselves happened to die as soon as they laid them.
Climbing back over again and walking away from the fire pit, he retreated back to Jenna and gave a heavy sigh. "Well that's another one to cross off the list, we're doing good so far," he said as he smiled encouragingly at her. It wasn't always like him to be so nice and formal, but everyone always learned of how arrogant and hot tempered he was in all due time.
