Mathew stood in front of the long mirror in his bedroom, he kind of looked ridiculous. Was he really going to go out like this? He donned a pair of khaki shorts, a green t-shirt and a pair of tan hiking boots. He was sure that no one would recognize him in such attire. It had been his cousin, Kabriel, who had convinced him to venture out of his comfort space and attend the upcoming camping trip. Mathew was sure that it was a bad idea but she had convinced him other wise with a few simple words and the mention of a few people that he liked to be around. It was settled already that he was to attend and that he was to stay in a tent of people he had not met before. Nonetheless, he was excited to say the least. Shrugging into his army canvas bag, he ventured from the warm confines of his room to get in touch with his more wilder side.
He practically skipped towards the peak. It was hard for him to contain the happiness that was coursing through him. He wasn’t sure if it was the fact that they were camping or the fact that he would finally get the time to meet up with certain people that made him so gleeful but one thing was for certain, he wasn’t going to question it. All that mattered now was that he was going to spend a fun filled time with good friends, good food, pleasurable activities and quite frankly, it helped that one Rachele Mistrot had signed up for the trip as well. It was always a bonus.
Mathew’s goofy smirk widened on his face causing his tanned skin to taunt and his eyes to narrow. The popped up tents and bonfire had already been setup up. A few students horseplayed in the distant flowers. He could already tell that this was going to be better than any of his expectations. His cousin had done well. Now only if he could find her.
Figuring that he could probably wait to find her and that it was more important to pick his bed, Mattie Amherst trailed off to find his assigned tent. Luckily, it only took four tries to locate his barracks. Swinging past the untied doors, he searched the tent for the other occupants with no luck. Mathew shrugged and supposed that he was the first which also meant that he could pick whichever bed he wanted. It was strange for Mathew to have to share shelter at Beauxbatons. The ratio of girls to guys meant that it wasn’t necessary for the males to have to share living spaces. Of course, many guys still opted for living with a mate. Mathew was very apprehensive about living with other people. He preferred the privacy however, it would be a nice change for a little while during this trip. He dropped his canvas bag on top of the cot closest to the door in order to make a quick getaway when needed. With a quick wave of his wand, his blankets and pillows were folded across the bed neatly.
Since not many people had arrived yet, Mathew took it upon himself to rest before the real action started. He plopped down on his freshly made bed, laced his fingers behind his head and await the arrival of his new tentmates.

Nick sat on his bed and curiously went through a mental check list to make sure he was well equipped to handle the next while being away from Beauxbatons. Of course, he had barely just set his feet onto the school's grounds when he signed up for the camp trip, roped into it by some energetic prefect who was finding as many people as she could. Gabriel, was it? He could barely remember. Regardless, he somewhat regretted the decision but was very excited to be meeting new students and of course meeting new guys in particular. He hadn't really met anyone to really bond with so he was hoping during this trip he'd find someone who he would be able to converse with smoothly enough that it could grow into a good companionship for when Nick needed a bud.
He zipped up the bag and did up all the clasps before slinging it over his shoulder and heading towards the door of his dormitory. He followed a slew of students down towards the entrance hall, and as it would normally be around lunch time for the students who had opted to stay at the school, Nick and a small handful of others were heading towards the great front doors which swung open at their advancement. Once the small cluster had made it into the great outdoors, they began their route. Nick had absolutely no idea what he was doing, who he was following and what he was going to do when he got there, but he kept up and spoke calming and in a friendly manner to those surrounding him.
He ran a hand through his head and exhaled in awe when he spotted all the tents. There were so many! He let out a low whistle while other students found this normal and went to search for their names or the names of their friends. Nick pulled his bag over his shoulder so it sat a little higher and went on the hunt. He immediately went to the boys' sections of the tents and found his way to one that seemed to have his name on it. He really hoped it was his and that he wouldn't open the canvas curtain to find another Nick Walker sitting inside. Perhaps his fears were a little too irrational. Taking a breath he pulled aside the flap and stepped inside. It was larger than he had expected, but was pleased with the results. He spotted one other figure in the room and he was lying, comfortably it seemed, upon one of the cots. Nick took one of the cots elsewhere, being sure to keep one cot between him and the stranger before he cleared his throat as he sat down.
Looked like twiddling his thumbs would but his activity until someone else arrived.

Santeri started his day by groaning loudly in his sleep, then abruptly rolled to his side and fell out of the bed. The sudden fall jarred him awake, and as he turned to look at the time his oddly mismatched eyes widened. He was going to be late. "Just great..." he mumbled, still half asleep as he got into a sitting position and after much struggling, managed to finally stand up. With one hand he slowly patted the top of his head as if trying to smooth down his messy dark brown hair, his eyes scanning his stuff as if he misplaced the clothes he was supposed to be wearing today, until finally he found them. Just a black shirt, black jeans and black sneakers; his usual attire, basically. He'd never actually been on a camping trip before, so he wasn't too sure about what clothes to wear and pack. Heck, he wasn't sure why he had agreed to this little jaunt in the wilderness anyway. Perhaps something to do? And he was excited about meeting some more of the students he hadn't come across in the school before as well. Truth be told, he didn't know many people besides his best friend Niklas, his mutual friend Meera and a few other people, so this seemed like the perfect opportunity to make some new acquaintances, at the very least.
Quickly, he got dressed, only just remembering he was late again, and feeling pleased that he already packed the night before. He usually was a terrible sleeper, staying up all night and generally rarely sleeping when he should, which forced him to regularly sleep in when he shouldn't. Very soon he rushed out, just barely having time to spend in the bathroom to check himself over, and joined the other people in the group who were already half way there, which took quite a bit of running to keep up on his part. He raised his head to quickly scan the crowd, and it was as he figured. Nikkii decided to skip the camping trip after all, which was a real bummer on Santeri's part. They usually did everything together like a pair of inseperable twins. He really didn't like to say that to Niklas himself though, especially if the vampire started finding it creepy or something if such a thing was spoken out loud. Although if Niklas already thought that and wasn't saying anything either... Santeri already had a hugely thoughtful look on his face as he walked, until finally he looked down at the ground and chuckled. He really needed to stop his thoughts from straying such a way in the future, though he couldn't really help himself.
Well, they reached the tents soon enough, and there were quite a number of them... and the sizes... they really all seemed like penthouses. The boys were usually more iffy about lack of space than the girls, so the size of the tends seemed perfect especially compared to how long they'd be staying in them. He didn't really have to look far for his tent, it had been a little ways away from where everyone had separated to look for their living quarters. Without much hesitation on his part, he pulled the flap of the tent aside and walked in. Immediately he saw two other guys, which begged the question: where was everyone else? "Hey dudes," he said, grinning at them both as he proceeded inwards and taking the cot furthest to the back. He plonked his bag down on the floor and sat down, casually observing the other two. Already two people he hadn't come across before, well this was bound to be slightly interesting if nothing else.

Mathew’s cruel eyes glanced barely over the first boy to enter into his tent. He couldn’t be more than second year, just a young pup out of his first stroll among the lads. This could be fun. Mattie was always known for being… catty? He felt as if that was the wrong word to use. Perhaps the sheer ironic nature of that word was what made it so funny to him. He didn’t take easily to people outside of his own little world. After all, those who weren’t like him didn’t give Mattie the benefit of the doubt why should he?
Mathew propped himself up on his elbows to begin his little game with his new company but before he could weasel out one little sadistic comment a voice broke through the void. Santeri. He was sharing a tent with Santeri. He had never met the kid face to face but he had heard so much of him through their mutual acquaintance that it was impossible not to already know so much about him. Meera was a blabber mouth. “Santi did this. Santi did that. You wouldn’t believe what Eri did today.” It was like the endless marathon of the Santeri Show starring Santeri. It was just hard for him to settle on the fact that Mattie was not the center of the Meera’s world. He was no longer getting in trouble with his best friend Otis for hanging out with his younger sister. It was almost as if it was hard for him to move on from her lack of attention.
Mathew scooped his ridged frame up from his horizontal position. Flopping one muscular arm over his bent knee, he gave a cocky smile to the newest tentmate. ”Well, if it isn’t what the cat dragged in.” He would be nice for now, or at least as nice as Mattie was known to be. Mathew’s own mix matched eyes quizzically stared into the demonic figure’s. It was odd seeing someone other than himself with such a condition. Perhaps it was something that humanized this god like creature. It was Mattie’s parents that thought that the hospital had made a mistake when their baby had open a pair of baby blue and sultry brown. Maybe he was destined to become a dog. Maybe that was why his eyes never matched from the beginning. ”Glad that you finally poked your head around these parts.” it was when there was no show of recognition when he entered that he realized that Meera had not blabbed about the rockstar friend, Mathew Amherst.
Mattie jutted out a remorseful hand, ”Mattie Amherst,” the part he left off was ‘the legendary awesome guy who everyone at school knew because he is so cool’. It was just a formality.

Santeri's eyes flicked around the tent quickly, observantly, before they finally landed on one of the boys whom he was sharing the tent with. The person in question seemed to be giving Santeri a look of curiosity, which appeared to be more than one would give someone they'd never seen or met before. Making no effort to hide his own intrigue, he sized the other one up, taking note of the boy's own similar eyes, his stature - despite lounging on his bed in such a way - even down to the boy's unusual scent, which gave off a clue that he was more than he made out to be. It was generally startling that he hadn't seen the person around before, but should he have really been surprised due to the lack of people he actually interacted with as a whole? It was why he came on this little hiking jaunt after all.
Slowly he blinked, and then blinked again when the other guy spoke. Santeri shook his head, a faint smile appearing, which then vanished when he looked up again. "You seem to know me, then?" he clarified, feeling kind of tentative about the entire situation. It really was an unusual one to say the least. Then a name was said and Santeri reached his own hand out to clasp... Mattie's. "Mattie? Mattie... Mattie... Mattie..." And then his eyes shot open and the same grin as before appeared. Interesting. Very interesting. He withdrew his hand and shifted on his bed so his back hit the wall. "Apologies, I thought something was off..." He looked thoughtful for a moment. Maybe he was starting to seem a bit too weird, much so that Mattie might have started having doubts about his sanity. But then again, they didn't know each other personally that much yet, so given the situation now he could have been proven right. "Rachele," he started, "mentioned you." It was an odd way to start a conversation, but he hoped that the other boy would see where he was going with it.
Crossing his legs, Santeri leaned forward, both oddly matched eyes concentrated on Mattie's own similarly matched orbs. They were slightly different though, as Santeri's were hazel and a bright shade of blue. Knowing what he was though, how did the demon end up with eyes such as these? It would have been more normal to have something like yellow or red, but hazel and blue? Either way, just looking at Mattie and with the feeling he got earlier, he had a feeling he knew of what he was, but he refused to say it, even in his own thoughts. It was just amusing touching on the idea but going no further than that, and upon meeting Rachele... well, he wasn't too surprised at this revelation. "Rachele told me a lot about you. Not everything, including your appearance, but enough." He frowned slightly and cocked his head in a very puppy-like manner. "Judging from your expression though, I presume someone else told you about me." Who though? He wasn't a mind reader in the slightest and often wished he was. Santeri turned to glance at the other boy in the tent, and then back at Mattie, as if silently asking with his eyes, "Friend of yours?
(sorry it's late and probably kinda bad )
