ELLIOTS & LILLYS ♥ ♥ ♥ SHE MAY CONTAIN THE URGE TO RUN AWAY but hold her down with soggy clothes and breezeblocks x x Rowan thumbed her way through her dresses with a distinct look of distaste upon her face. It was more than a little pointless for her to be doing this - she knew exactly what dresses she had brought with her to Beauxbatons by heart because she had, after all, spent hours making sure she brought a varied selection. Yet, here she was with no idea what to wear. It was a bit ironic how she could have so many dresses, so many options, and she still felt unprepared. This was just how Rowan was, she liked planning and organizing and being prepared. But she never felt like it was enough and this was one of those instances. She was just going for coffee with Kabriel, it wasn't like what she chose to wear would be the difference between life and death. But this was that people were so unpredictable. Rowan had no idea if coffee was going to be formal or laid back and she had the subconscious fear that if Rowan was anything less than perfect Kabriel would simply laugh when she showed up and leave with one of her many other friends. Consciously, Rowan knew that was ridiculous but not knowing what was expected of her so she could meet expectations always put her on edge. It had something to do with having so many siblings who were always so good at what they did. Glancing at the clock, Rowan knew she had to make a decision and fast or she would risk running late, yet another thing that put her on edge. She loved being early because it put her at a slight advantage, something that always made her feel better about social situations.
Rowan grumbled under her breath as she snatched a black dress off a hanger and quickly changed. She supposed this dress was a good medium between fancy and casual, something she had originally bough to be worn under her robes to class. Having wasted so much time on picking out a dress, Rowan didn't have much time to give herself a once over before she had to go. Clearly she had not done herself any favors in taking so long to get dressed because she hated leaving without being sure that everything was perfectly in place and as she wanted it to be. She quickly ran a hand through her hair and frowned at the slight frizz but not willing to waste any time fixing it before she pulled on her favourite pair of black wedges and zooming out of her dorm. She had her fingers crossed the whole time she walked to Just in Thyme Teashop that she wasn't keeping Kabriel waiting or, worse, that Kabriel had already come and gone. Even though they went to the same school, Rowan and Kabriel didn't have very much time to spend with each other. Something to do with them being in separate houses and Rowan's hang ups in regards to being around strangers. Rowan was fully aware it was hard to be her friend and therefore she was grateful that Kabriel was willing to stick by her despite all these problems. The two girls had become close at their siblings, Mallory and Adrian's wedding where they'd been stuck together and they'd instantly hit it off. They were pretty different as far as personalities went but they had bonded over both coming from such large and overbearing families. Besides, Rowan thought it was nice to have to odd friend that didn't make her as uncomfortable as people usually did.
The first thing Rowan did when she entered the tea shop was look at the clock and let out a sigh of relief when she discovered she wasn't as late as she thought (and was still four minutes earlier than the agreed upon meeting time). Next, she walked up to the counter and placed her order, "A pumpkin spice coffee. merci." When her drink was ready she carefully picked up the cup and scanned the room for a table. The teashop wasn't very full at the moment but she knew that it would probably get busier in an hour or two and she really did not want to be stuck surrounded by people, therefore she kept an eye out for secluded seating. Another bonus such a seat would offer was that even if people came in that either she or Kabriel knew, they wouldn't be spotted and there was no way Rowan was going to risk getting roped in to conversation she didn't want to be apart of. Catching sight of such a seat, Rowan quickly made her way over to the booth in the back corner to wait for Kabriel's arrival.
Order: 1 pumpkin spice coffee, 5 galleons (vault)
