Yuki had always enjoyed Sunday mornings, because they were usually very quiet and peaceful, everyone just relaxing and wanting to sleep until the noon while dreading Monday and having go to classes again. Not that Yuki minded about going to classes. He actually enjoyed studying and learning new things. Even now he was doing his homework at the dining chambers while having breakfast with only a few others eating something as well. Most likely a lot of others students were still asleep or some had just decided to skip breakfast. While there were a couple of persons both in the Sournois and Cossu tables, Yuki was the only one sitting in the Rouerie one, enjoying his breakfast all alone. Well, he wasn’t exactly enjoying it. The toast was hanging between his lips as he kept writing and reading and writing and reading, forgetting to eat completely. Most likely his tea had gotten cool by now.
Suddenly he noticed that he had made a mistake which why his jaw dropped it making the toast drop on the plate while he stared at the parchment in front of him. “Shhhh-“ He whispered to himself quietly, but wasn’t even able to finish the word when he already heard Yuji suggest, “Sh*t?” to which Yuki reacted quickly, staring into the thin air above him and almost screaming “SHOOT!” before he realized that those few students around him had turned to look at him now which why he looked at them with an apologetic look on his face and looked down back at the papers while feeling embarrassed. “That was totally your own fault. I was just kindly suggesting a word, didn’t tell you to yell anything aloud. No blaming me for that this time.” Yuji added quickly, obviously very pleased with himself again that he had been able to make Yuki look ridiculous and perhaps even a bit of a lunatic. The Rouerie was sure there were all kinds of rumors spreading around about him for he often yelled out aloud, always forgetting that no one else could hear Yuji. “I thought you were supposed to be pretty smart, but you’re a total idiot aren’t you.” Hearing this made Yuki feel quite annoyed and he closed his eyes before replying to his twin in his mind, You know, I heard there’s a necromancer in Beauxbatons now. Wonder if he could help me get rid of you. And indeed there was someone like that, he had heard so, but he didn’t know the person… yet. “Pfft, takes a lot more than that to get rid of me.” The demon replied with a chuckle, but there was some uncertainty in his voice and after that Yuji did stay silent, so it must be at least bothering him which in the other hand made Yuki feel like he had just won this one.
Quickly he ate his toast and half of the tea (it didn’t taste too good now that it was cooled off already) before packing up his things and leaving the dining chambers behind in a hurry. No, he definitely didn’t want to stay there and be stared (Word just suggested “shared”, lmao) by everyone. But where should he go now? He needed a quiet place to study at and for some reason he felt like the common room would be filled with people, so would be the library. He was pretty sure he wouldn’t be able to concentrate to anything if he tried to study at his dorm, mostly because his dear pets would keep interrupting him most likely or he would end up reading a book that he’s currently hooked on. That would be a bad idea. Because it was only a morning now and not night, and although light didn’t really shine there he still decided to head to the catacombs. He had never seen anything scary there (maybe a few school ghosts had startled him a couple of times), so Catacombs seemed like a nice choice. He hadn’t been in there in ages anyway. Usually students were too scared to go there, because yeah, it was kind of a creepy place, so he was pretty sure no one else would be there, so he would be able to study quietly and peacefully over there.
The corridors where incredibly narrow in the catacombs and you definitely couldn’t see what was around the next corner. It was really easy to get lost in there too, but he had been there a few times before with friends so… well, he was almost 90% sure he wouldn’t be getting lost there as long as he just didn’t go too far away. After making a few turns right and a couple to left he found a nice corner where was a torch lit also, so he would be able to see something. He let out a sigh, looked around a bit before putting his things down and sat on the ground, leaning his back against the wall. Yeah, this was a really creepy place he admitted it. But he kept telling himself that there was nothing there and he was safe. No worries. So he took his books and papers before starting to calmly study again.
In a moment though he was interrupted as he could clearly see from the corner of his eye that a shadow moving and he turned to look to that direction, but saw nothing in there. He blinked before turning back to read at the book he was holding, but then it happened again; a shadow, moving really fast. Quickly he raised his gaze and stared for a moment into the darkness, but nothing. It’s just your imagination Yuki, just your imagination… He told himself and just tried to keep on studying. For sure he was just imagining things or it was just yet another ghost, because no human could move that fast anyway. He was safe. Nothing to worry. Nothing bad was out there. Besides… if it was something dangerous wouldn’t Yuji have told him to get out of there or something? Although Yuji was most likely staying quiet, because he had just threaten him with a necromancer he was sure that his twin wasn’t so angry at him that he wouldn’t warn him and want to see him in danger. It had to be nothing. So he just took a deep breath and ignored every time he saw a shadow moving. But then he could hear foot steps further away, approaching and getting closer and closer which is when the moving shadow disappeared and he arched his eyebrows; what was going on? Had it really been just his imagination? wearing: this notes: open to any & all [:

✽ It was what a autumn day was expected to be, exactly how it was shown in photographs. Outside the air was holding on to the lingering warmth of summer but the wind added its unique bitter bite, creating the perfect sweater weather. Both yours hands in the holes of my sweater. The leaves were still clinging to the trees, an even mixture of warm red, orange, and yellow. The grass still held its green pigment that had come during the springtime. The sun shined high in the sky, creating the misleading illusion of warmth. But despite noting all this as she gazed out her window in the morning, Maelys had less than zero desire to go outside - she was about as much of an indoor person as they came. There would never come a day where she would choose to be warmed by the sun over a cozy fire, choose the gentle breeze of the outdoors over the calm air inside. And so she stared at the beautiful autumn day from within her room, leaning out her window, tilting her head up towards the sun and shivering as the wind hit her skin and turned it in to goose flesh. Suddenly, she turned from the window and walked over to the wool sweater at the foot of her bed and pulled it in. That was enough outdoors for now, she decided with a certain nod. She had other plans for today - books she had intentions of returning to the library, professors to ask questions in regards to homework, fellow students to converse with. Besides, she simply had no desire to go outside and enjoy the day. She could understand why others enjoyed the world, really, but it just was not her thing. She was a creature who enjoyed modern comforts.
Exiting her room she ran a lazy hand through her hair. While not exactly a 'hyper' person, it was certain that Mae had plenty of energy, enough to share, energy that she released with fidgety movements throughout the day. Swinging her legs as she read, bouncing her legs under the table during classes and meals, hands going awry as she walked. Her fingers would run along the wall, arms occasionally reaching up (often without prompting from Mae). All these actions were done as she usually did things, absent-minded and at ease, almost as if her body was in tune with the world and, as such, didn't need Maelys to command it about. She walked with a simple grace around her, each step an unexpected production. As this was her nature, it is easy to imagine that this is how she now walked through the hallways of Beauxbatons, pondering briefly of how many people walked these halls (the same thought she had every time she went through the school) before her thoughts switched to her matter at hand. She was going to the library to get a new book, having finished the last one the night before. It'd been a book of fairy tales that concentrated on Pixies. It had been interesting and fun, bringing her back to the innocent and golden nights of her childhood where her mother would tuck her in to bed, pull the blankets tight, and sit next to her while making up story after story of far off lands. At the time she hadn't known it was her mother indirectly talking about her work, telling her little Mae about her day saving and array of fantastic creatures lives.
Her mouth quirked up in to a small smile as she reached the library and threw the door open with a simple flourish that threw the doors open wide. She had the intention of finding s more face paced novel this time, one with princesses and knights perhaps. Even though she was almost all grown up and knew of many more wonders in the world, Maelys couldn't find it in herself to let go of the fantasy stories she'd been enamored by in her youth. It was essentially what she read exclusively. Tracing the well-known path, she made her way to her favourite section of the library and did a quick surmise of the shelves, briefly taking in the few books that really caught her attention. She read over the titles quickly, trying to figure out what sort of story would be entitled that. This was how she often chose her next book, by the title. She hated reading summaries of the books, it always gave her something to expect from the book and that was the worst thing to her. She wanted to ead the books to escape and expectations were such a human thing, it seemed almost ironic to her to have expectations from a book. Reading a title that interested her, she quickly snatched it off the shelf and made her way over to the check out to sign it out. She smiled at the librarian as she did so but bounced on the balls of her feet with anticipation to find someplace quiet to read.
One would think that the library would be the prime place to read quietly but, usually, it was quite the opposite. Many people would come to the library to do homework and hang out with friends and there was only so much the librarian could do to keep the quiet. When she read, Maelys liked to have nearly absolute silence and thus, the library was not the place for her. But she did have a spot within the school that was beyond her dorm where she often would be pulled from her reading by her various personal objects in the room and her multiple unfinished letters to her family. Grabbing her book off the counter she took off to her reading place. It was in the catacombs of the castle, below the usual hustle-and-bustle of the world. A rather dark place that would have seemed eerie and creepy to the normal person but it didn't bother her much. It wasn't so much that Mae was fearless but she knew what to fear and the catacombs wasn't a place that had earned her fear. Instead, it was her favourite place to hide from the world and be absorbed in to a new one. However, when she got to her usual spot, Maelys was shocked to find it occupied. Not wanting to disturb them, the boy seeming absorbed in whatever he was doing, she quietly sped on past to where she would be able to stealthily peer around the corner and assess the situation.
Maelys wasn't anti-social exactly, in fact she was quite friendly to most people but, again, she liked silence as she read and she didn't know if this stranger would provide her that. Wrapping a hand in her hair she creeped around the corner and watched as the shadows she cast caught the guy's attention. Supposing she'd bothered him, she might as well be polite and introduce herself. Her face pulled in to a warm smile as she walked up to him, putting weight in her footsteps to get his full attention. "Hi!" she greeted kindly, coming to a half within arm length of him. "Would you mind if I sit here and read?" With the inquiry she gestured towards the book in her hand. "This is, uhm, probably one of the best places." While she was sure she wouldn't get much reading done around this person, were they in the mood to chat but, she figured, it was never a bad thing to make new friends. And what a better way to make friends by bonding over the use of the catacombs as a quiet area, something unique in a school such as Beauxbatons.
