Dear Mama and Papa, How are you both? I know you must miss me back home. But don't worry, I'm happy here. I love Beauxbatons! It is absolutely gorgeous! I haven't explored much due to homework and the like but one of these days I'll visit everywhere this campus has to offer! I hope everything back home is okay, and don't worry, no fires yet! I'm staying with two girls, both older than me. The really older one is nice, but the other one is a little antisocial...not too bad though! Everyone at Beauxbatons is really nice and the teachers are excellent! Please write to me back. I love getting letters from you! Love, Jasmine Thorn sat on one of the school perches, preening his wing feathers and not having a care in the world. How she wished she couldn't have a care in the world sometimes. Sighing, Jasmine simply attached the letter to Thorn's leg and ordered, "Take this straight to Mama and Papa. Do you understand me, Thorn?" The owl only rolled its eyes in annoyance, then hooted as if to order her to release him from the perch. Jasmine obeyed and the owl took off flying. Jasmine looked around and saw that her things were exactly where she left them. She went over to grab them, pondering what to do. To help her thinking process, she began muttering to herself, not paying any attention. "Now, let's see. I finished my homework, so I can't really do much with my education at the moment until next class. I could go down to the Forest, but I don't think it's a very good idea to go by myself. Perhaps I ought to ask someone to come with me? Maybe Lucrezia? Or maybe I could go to the library and read books--"

Amanda frowned as she tried to untangle her knotty hair. She growled. That was something She normally did when she was having a hard time. She didn't normally do it while her friend were watching. She had a few close friends. Anastasia, Jenna, Kabes, Claire, Euphemie, and of course, her BFFs and roommates Lily and Alice. Alice was The only student at beauxbatons that was Amanda's age. She also had Amanda's hyperness. Kabes definitely gad that too.
Amanda was a bit surprised at how many friends she had. She had only come to Beauxbatons a few months ago. And it was one month ago that she had turned twelve. Amanda heard a hoot coming from one of the beds. She peered through the door to see her owl, Tawny, chewing up Lily's blanket. "Not again" Amanda muttered as she stomped over to the bed. Tawny had been misbehaving, lately. Well, actually he had always been a bit of a troublemaker.
But he was loyal, fun, and a great companion. Amanda could tell that he was crushing on Lily's owl Holly. Amanda looked over to the corner of the room where all the animals stayed. They were mostly all sleeping. There was Alice's cat, Amanda's pygmy puff Ashley, Lily's dog, and her owl and pygmy puff. They were all there but Tawny, who was still munching away at Lily's bed sheet. "Reparo" she said pointing her wand at the bed. It had repaired itself in a flash.
She looked in the owl's direction and patted her knees. Tawny flew into her arms. "Perhaps you need to socialize with some other owls" she said as she carried out of the room and into the Owlery. Amanda walked up the long winding staircase and she saw a girl in it, watching an owl fly away. No. She hadn't. She had never meg a girl at school younger than her. There were none! But Apparently she was wrong.
She approached the girl, who looked about her age. "Hello, I'm Amanda James, and this is Tawny" she said pointing to her owl.

Jasmine almost tackled the newcomer but caught herself and immediately jumped back in surprise. From the looks of her, she looked about Jasmine's age, although maybe a little older. Jasmine noticed the Cossu badge on the other girl and looked back up to see that the girl fit the house perfectly.Nice brown hair, brown eyes, and pretty as well. In her eyes, she looked like she had all the friends in the world.
But Jasmine couldn't trust anyone straight away, could she? She trusted Rowan and now she's stuck with an asocial roommate with a hoarding problem. But she has no right to be mad at Rowan. After all, she has her own problems. But maybe this girl was different....?
"It is nice to meet you, Amanda. My name is Jasmine. Jasmine Chaput. Is that your owl? What's his name? He's so cute!" Jasmine was a little nervous about this meeting for some reason.

Gwen smiled as she walked down the corridor of Beauxbatons. Her mother's birthday was tomorrow and she had gotten her an amazing present. Her mother was going to love it! It was a small way of thanking her mom for everything that she did for her. All she had to do was walk to the owlery and find her owl. Cherry was always lounging up there so it was easy to guess where she would be. Her own Snowy owl was fond of hanging there as there was more of her kind in the owlery. She walked up the winding steps toward the room.
Finally and happily, she made it. The walk had taken away some of her strength but it was nothing life-threatening. She coughed a little before entering the room. Upon her entrance, she noticed two younger girls. Gwen gave them both a smile and continued on to find her owl. "Come on, Cherry. Where are you?" she called out. The flutter of wings signaled her owl's appearance. Gwen giggled a little as the owl showed of by looping around the room.
"Okay, you little showoff," she said, a light smile on her lips. "C'mon. I've got a job for you," Gwen said, tying the package to the owl. "Take this straight to mother, okay?" She was answered by the owl taking off. A sigh escaped her lips. Sometimes, her owl was even more energetic than her. She turned back and noticed that the two girls were still there. "Hi! I'm Gwen," she said, introducing herself.

It's not that Jasmine is lonely, it's just that she's used to hiding herself when necessary. But is it really necessary to hide herself when people talk to her? Depends. Nevertheless, Jasmine was very surprised. Not that she should be, of course, this is the Owlery, and everybody goes to the Owlery, but to see two other students come and say hi to her is a little surprising. Perhaps that's why, when she first tried to speak, she made noises that sounded like words, but didn't quite seem to come together.
"Hiflv woipwi..." What was that? Was she trying to show how illiterate she was because she made a very good example of that. Nervously, Jasmine cleared her throat and tried again, "It's nice to meet you Amanda, as well as you, Gwen. My name is Jasmine." Both looked like nice people. Amanda looked about a year older than Jasmine, which is nice considering she's only seen older students. Gwen looked just a little older than both Amanda and herself. Of course, that's no reason to be scared.
Jasmine then turned to Amanda's owl Cherry. "Hello Cherry, it's nice to meet you." Jasmine cautiously began stroking Cherry's head, hoping that this owl didn't bite. Jasmine doesn't like animals that bite, for obvious reasons. Jasmine then looked to the other girls and asked, "I don't believe we've met before. Are either of you a first year, or a Sournois?" Sensing that perhaps she's coming off as a little snooty, Jasmine quickly added, "It's alright if you're neither, of course, I'm just curious to know."
