Don’t trust him. He’s very good at making you believe all of his words and make you feel like you’re the only one that matters in the whole universe, but he doesn’t mean any of it. He can be extremely manipulative, mischievous, sly, cunning… all thanks to his kitsune roots. Like mother, like daugh- err, son. His mother is really malicious, great at playing games and it seems that she doesn’t really care for Azuma, but pretends to do so. And so Cress has always just followed after her foot-prints and become a lot like her, although when he was younger he had a bit warmer heart. He doesn’t trust anyone. He doesn’t believe that anyone can be genuine. To him there are just greedy people and naïve people. His own mother only used him as a puppet, never gave him any real attention which gives him more than enough reason not to believe a thing that people say. Deep inside he probably just wants to be wanted, because his mother never gave him enough love. Yeah, guess he’s got some mummy issues. He can be a real prankster, but that doesn’t come as a surprise, does it? He really enjoys fooling around. And despite him not trusting people he still seeks “friends” or rather just people to hang out with, perhaps some that he can manipulate a bit. He can be a lot of fun too, after all. He’s got a good sense of humor. Thanks to both of his parents he also can be really seductive. It’s part of his manipulation tactics. He can be very flirty, even though he most likely isn’t interested the least. He just wants something out of you. Manipulate you to become a friend which will end up in a disaster. Or make you trust him, so that you will end up making some kind of deal with him which most likely… will end up in a disaster as well.

HISTORY

His whole life Cress has lived with just his mother. He hasn’t met his father even once. This says a lot as he’s already over 100 years old. Azuma has always been content with it being just him and his mother, and he has never even thought about trying to find out about his father, even though he has gotten some special abilities thanks to him. Still he’s not interested the slightest to know him. His mother has managed to brainwash him into thinking that the two of them are all that matter and that he should only care about her. It was his mission in life to impress her. Make her proud of him. For his mother it was always important to mix in well with humans, because it was more fun to cause chaos that way, for example to their neighbors. They have always moved around a lot after his mother would have caused a complete disaster in her neighborhood with his help. Mostly they stayed in Japan, but they did live in China and South Korea a few times, even once in North Korea. 69 years ago they lived in Japan though, Nagasaki to be exact. It was late winter when they arrived there, so Cress (back then Azuma Takayama) managed to go to school for a couple of months before summer vacation. He became really close friends with a classmate, Renji Honda. To Azuma though the most important thing in his life was to make his mother proud which why he always studied hard at school and made sure he got the best grade in everything. For exams he would often study weeks beforehand. The closer he became with Renji though the less he studied. He still got great grades, but his mother was bothered by their close friendship. In her opinion Renji was always just in the way. She had plans to get rid of Renji, but in August 1945 as the three of them were having a conversation about how the two boys should study more and Azuma should be at home more, less out doing god knows what… United States bombed Nagasaki. Azuma’s mother pushed Renji further away with a spell before making a shield to cover herself as well as Azuma from the bombing, so that they would survive. Horrified Azuma had to watch his friend burn to death, his mother not letting him out under the shield. Perhaps back then Azuma became a bit more to his senses and decided not to follow his mother all the time. He decided he needed to go alone his own path. But without a doubt everything that happened in Nagasaki left a mark on him and molded him to become a lot more like his mother than he realizes. Both kitsune and ifrit abilities he uses in negative, harmful ways. His whole life he’s gone from muggle school to muggle school. It’s time for him to learn some proper magic. That’s just an excuse though. In reality he wants to meet people with different kind of abilities too and see if he can find new people to make deals with. And fool around with.

- One of his favorite hobbies has always been playing piano, he's quite good at it too, after all he's got over 100 years of experience. - He's got a black/red butterfly butterfly tattoo on his right shoulder. - Some can talk to snakes... but he can communicate with butterflies. - Most likely he just wants to find some real friendship, someone who he really can trust. He wants to be wanted. But he has some huge trust issues. - Drystan de Sauveterre is his uncle. - Siblings? He has no idea. Could be that he has some from his mother's or father's side. He just doesn't know about them. - He also enjoys painting, especially scenery as well as portraits. - He changed his first name as his last name after losing his best friend back in Nagasaki 1945. His last name used to be Takayama. - Suffers from nightmares & panic attacks. - Can turn into a white fox with nine tails.
