Constance Barrington's Office Description

Ever wonder what it looks like in the Astronomy Professor's office? Well if you take a visit into Professor Constance Barrington's office you'll see the many trinkets, books, some plant life, and other bits here and there.

As you come up one of the tallest towers where Astronomy is taught, you will certainly find her office quite easy. Being the only other door in that tower is made of solid mahogany and it will have a sign to the side on the wall saying:

So you enter into her office and the first thing that hits you is the suttle aroma of gingerbread and sugar cookies. Yes a delightful smell and very heavenly. That woman of course loves her sweets and love for tea, especially orange and jasmine blossom.

Now as the door closes behind you, you'll notice that her room is very homely. An off white paint that brightens the room, but of course with white sheer curtains over her window would help the sunlight brighten her office. On her walls you'll notice pictures of various landscapes with mountains and lakes and some of the night sky that are photographs. The landscapes are paintings she had acquired herself over the past few years from friends and collegues. Also there is a picture of her father, mother, and siblings. Oh and you can't forget a mirror of course.

Along the back wall behind her desk are shelved with books. It only ends where the window is and then starts again until it gets to the other side of the room, making the window smack dab in the middle of the wall. These books are old, some are documents, diaries, and of course much books about literature, authors, the authors collections, herbs, and plenty on astronomy topics.

Now her desk happens to be right infront of the window where it shines light onto her paper work. There are normally two chairs that sit infront of her desk and one big comfy chair behind her desk. She does have a very messy table-top at times, but it is well organized most of the time. She has moving pictures of her and her family, and some of her old friends from back at Hogwarts where they waved and even hugged. On her desk there are writing utensils, ink, parchment, candles, and paper clips which are rarely seen in the wizarding world.

Now to the left wall there is a show case. There it holds many of her valuable things that she had got from visiting various countries. You'll find chop sticks from China, heiroglyphic rocks from Egypt, little statuettes, and money from countries she had passed by. Also a small light blue glowing water container that came from Antarctica. It holds some of the glacier water she retrieved herself. It's hard to tell where some of the things she had gotten from. You'll have to ask her. But if you look closely you'll notice that a chinese latern hangs in the corner.

Now to your right wall there is a table where two chairs are set. You'll find a tray of tea and pastries there all the time when you enter. Most students who enter for good reasons happen to be offered tea and sweets. Above the table on the wall happens to be one of Professor Barringtons's favorite painting of the mountains in the spring time in the Alps.

Alright so that's most of what you see in her office, but you haven't notice that she does have a lounging area on the same wall as you entered, but it is on your right. There sits a large dark green couch. That area is a more comfy area for students and herself to sit at and chat instead of being at her desk.

Lastly, you will notice that across the room is door, but this is a closet. As you can tell there are about eight locks on this door and only Constance herself can open this. Thankfully she gave us permission just to get a sneak peak. In there is a cabinet. In this cabinet she keeps potion ingredients, vials, and other serums of unknown. Some of these things are so old that they date back in the 500 A.D. In there are also books that she keeps highly secured so that it doesn't get out to anyone. In this long dark closet happens to be a lot of authentic documents, minature statues, old paintings from famous artists and unknown artists, brooms, and so many things that I can't even name since they are unrecognizable. So let's be on our way out since it seems like we've covered most of Constance's office.

Oh look.. the fire place! Right there in the corner near the door to our exit. I was wondering where the warmth was coming from. It's made up of flat rocks. Oh on the mantle happens to be more pictures of the Barrington's and other family members, how happy they look. Also looks like a skull and more statuettes of animals and a clock. Well this does conclude Constance's office. Do remember that you're always welcome in here, so don't be shy and pay a visit to Professor Barrington. She does enjoy her students's company.
