"I'm so glad you're here," she said quietly to Ivanov, giving him one last kiss before letting him go and facing Mattie, her face beet red. Kabriel could barely remember the last time she saw Mattie before the term had started. It was at the Oak Tree, she thought, and the two were just sort of hanging out on the grass and under the shade of the tree during the summer. It had been a fun experience, but since then she hadn't seen Matthew around much. In fact, he had almost entirely disappeared since then and it had kind of left her a little confused. It was also true, she had failed to mention to him that she was dating a wonderful guy who made her world so much brighter every time he was around. Part of it was because she knew that Matthew was going to try and terrify him. Both guys were extremely important to Kabriel, she loved her cousin and her love both in different ways but didn't want to have the two hating one another. The tension under the tent was getting to be too much to bear and she had half a mind to excuse herself and let the two boys duke it out, but she knew better than that. She quickly let go of Ivanov's hand and flung her arms around Mattie's shoulders, squeezing him in a tight hug, "How was that? Worth the wait?" she joked, trying to lighten the atmosphere. When she released him, she slipped her soft, slender fingers between Ivanov's. She would never get tired of how his fingers, a little more coarse than her own, felt so safe and secure to her. It made her stomach do a backflip as her a pale pink rose on her cheeks beneath her blush. It quickly faded as she composed herself. Blushing in front of her cousin due to her beau wasn't helping the situation. Kabriel then became incredibly sheepish after hearing that mention. She glanced up at Ivanov and shrugged a little guiltily since it was true, she hadn't mentioned Ivanov to Mattie yet. But of course, reasons were reasons. She was hoping Ivanov wouldn't get upset with her for that, but knowing him it wasn't too likely that many people from his family knew about her either. He wasn't as affectionate as she could be, but to her he managed to make her one of the happiest girls at Beauxbatons. She could feel her heart skip a beat as she thought of their encounter by Moonstone bridge over the summer break. Just as the leaves were turning shades of the autumn palette, Ivanov had told her he loved and since then nothing had brought her down. She was floating above everyone and everything and couldn't be bothered to think of anything else. Not even schoolwork - something that needed to be improved, go figure. "I suppose I didn't. But I think it was because I hadn't seen you in a while?" she suggested, batting her eyelashes jokingly knowing too well that both boys knew that she was trying to divert the blame, "But yes. I guess you're right," she cleared her throat, "Well, how about now?" She gestured to Ivanov and smiled, "This is Ivanov Trovsky, my boyfriend. And Ivanov -" she gestured to Mattie, "This is my awesome cousin Matthew Amherst." Hopefully that wasn't too awkward of an introduction. The heat on her cheeks were telling her otherwise, she had good intentions regardless of the outcome. As Matthew leaned as though for another hug, she heard the not-so-quiet whisper into her ear and she couldn't help but grin. His being so protective just reminded her of how much she loved him and was lucky to have him around. "I'll keep that in mind, but don't get your hopes up." she joked, beaming with that cheeky light in her eye - something the cousins shared. Both were very charming when they needed to be, although Matthew used his charm with ladies and Kabes used it with the general populous if she could. She leaned back into Ivanov and couldn't help but feel her heart swell with pride and love for him when he smiled at her. Something Ivanov was able to do, but maybe didn't know it, was make her whole body weak and jiggly. Like noodles. Ivanov was the most handsome guy she knew and she couldn't help but swoon inwardly every time she saw him. Kabriel nodded and smiled at him, "One year. Kind of weird, isn't it? It went by so quickly," she laughed, "But yeah... good memories." she beamed and gave his arm an affectionate squeeze before standing on her tip toes and planting a light kiss on his cheek.
