In this world Noemi had not only many expectations set for herself, but she had many set for others. She demanded a certain degree of excellence from everyone despite them not knowing this at all. She was always angry when people didn't live up to the expectations she set for them, but how could they? They had no idea that they were supposed to be sweet or kind to her. They had no idea that she wanted them to act gracefully. Half, probably more than half, of Beauxbaton's student population acted rudely. They didn't take into account anybody but themselves. They should think of other people and if she wanted to say hello to be nice, they should say hello back. So ironic how Noemi out of all people was complaining about this. Her ways of being nice differentiated from the normal definition. She didn't view sugar and spice and everything nice as helping elderly women cross roads or giving a stray cat some milk. She didn't see it as kindness when people helped others in need or did something they didn't really have to. She viewed kindness as when she went "out of her way" to "be nice". As in, saying hello to someone she had no idea who they were or offering someone her seat as she got up or letting someone copy her notes, which were obviously fabulously taken, after class.
Those were her ways of being nice and people didn't seem to understand that. Their definition of kind was so overused and redundant. Noemi was sick of it. This was the new way of being nice and she was going to show it all to everyone. They may think of it as rude or mean or unexpected, but then after thinking about it they would realize how sweet it was of her to do this for them. How she had no reason to go out of her way to say this or do that for them, but she did anyway. She did it because Noemi is a good person. She is a soulful girl who only brought out her weapons when attacked first. It was the cardinal rule because that way it didn't look like your fault. You weren't the instigator, you were just protecting yourself. People took sympathy when your village was being attacked, not when you were the giant doing the attacking. Noemi expected these people to know who she was. To have some sort of sense of her. They had to know of her, after all she was quite infamous on these grounds. Or she liked to think that she was. She liked to think she made a big enough impact for the students to know her name.
Maybe once she said her name this girl would finally realize that this was her. This was that girl they all whispered about. Maybe not though. There was always the possibility that this girl just arrived and had no idea who anyone was. It could be a great opportunity for Noemi to come in as the savour. Taking her under her wing and putting her to her best. From drags to riches all in a matter of days with the help of Noemi and her expertise. She spoke quite slowly and the redhead wanted to shake her, telling her to speed up. Noemi's expression must have looked bewildered at first but she brought herself together, rather quickly too. Her features were calm and sincere as she replied back to the girl, "I'm Noemi. A second year. Yourself?" Her voice was soothing and calm. She didn't talk back with any attitude at all. Then another girl popped up. There were so many girls coming out of nowhere! Noemi smiled at her, another way of being nice is to smile, and she said, "Everything is pretty good with me. How about you?" It felt weird being so nice for no reason. She felt all tingley inside. Maybe this was why she was never all that nice to people. It left you with a bad after taste.

After walking for a while with Lacey and getting to know her a little whilst in the owlery, Merry was sure that they would be good friends. Her new friend seemed to be accepting, talkative and even though she recieved the impression that Lacey wasn’t usually one to be close friends with many people, she predicted that they would be. The Rouerie table was noisy with the sound of cutlery and excitable voices filling the room. This acted as a sense of security for Merry, who enjoyed the pleasant vibes elicited from the students surrounding the Rouerie table. Placed in front of her was a plate of something that resembled meat. Merry glanced at it briefly before rising up in her seat in search of something vegetable based. To her excitement, Merry located something an arm’s length away which seemed to be some sort of vegetable dish. Not entirely caring what it was, Merry reached for it and piled it onto the plate sitting in front of her.
”So Lacey?” Merry said with a slight questioning tone, ”I told you what I like, but I forgot to ask what you like. I’d really love to know more about you!” This was entirely truthful. Merry did want to know as much as possible about Lacey. She’d become very excited by the idea of having a new friend and wanted to understand as much as possible about Lacey as possible, partly because she was a curious person and partly because it just seemed like the natural thing for her to do. She stabbed her fork into a piece of broccoli and chewed, savouring her first mouthful. The elves had done a marvellous job cooking the food for the students and teachers and instantly she remembered the idea that Lacey had proposed. When they had the opportunity, Merry would love to go ‘behind the scenes’ as it were. This thought happened so quickly that even before Lacey had answered her question, it had vanished, leaving Merry to await Lacey’s response.

-- All goose-bumps gone, Lacey smiled with relief as she stepped into the warm hall. It was a wonderful feeling, having been in a freezing climate, then to experience a total change of temperature in less than a second. As she sat stiffly next to Merry, she glanced around the table. It all looked so inviting, but unfortunately the food wasn't very replenishing. Her pale hand immediately reached for the largest piece of chicken breast. She noticed everything on Merry's plate seemed oddly organic. "Vegetarian?" She asked conversationally before having her first bite of proper food for the day. She had nothing against vegetarians. She used to be one herself, however had found the resistance too difficult to uphold. She wasn't proud of supporting the slaughtering of animals, so tried not to think about it.
-- ”So Lacey,” Merry said to her, ”I told you what I like, but I forgot to ask what you like. I’d really love to know more about you.” Lacey looked up, pleased that Merry seemed interested. "Well, I love reading and writing. Fiction and poetry, mostly. I like bands like Muse and Paramore - I'm assuming you know them. I'm not musical, myself. I used to want to be an actress, or a dancer. I guess I'm still interested in those things, though not so much anymore." She enjoyed talking about herself. She'd never had a chance to before, apart from when she was young. Though she didn't remember it too well. "I'm pretty clumsy. I fall asleep early and wake up late. Um... I think that's it." She smiled, satisfied with her necessarily brief description of herself.

"Vegetarian?” Merry shook her head, ”Semi - Vegan.” Upon deciding that her response seemed a little weird, Merry continued, ”Because even though I’d love to call myself Vegan, I always slip into eating chocolate in some way or another...” She laughed and pinned a piece of carrot onto her fork. She was just about to ask,”What about you? but realised that this automatic response didn’t really have a place at the present as she had already noted Lacey head for the chicken. That would have been severely embarrassing for Merry, or at least she thought so. Merry had nothing against people who ate meat whatsoever... But whenever she ate with her friends at her old school, they would always seem to get the impression that she did, and that she was judging them for doing so. Yes, she disliked eating meat, but that was her choice and she had never intentionally tried to bestow it on another person.
She grinned as Lacey told her more of her likes. Merry loved reading, too and music was her passion aside from literature. ”Paramore is great. I love their new album, though I can’t remember what it’s called. It’s got a butterfly on it or something? “ She put the piece of carrot that had been pinned onto her fork into her mouth and chewed slowly, pondering upon why Lacey wasn’t interested in dancing or acting very much anymore. Maybe she had just lost interest like Merry had when she wanted to be a veterinarian all of those years ago? After she had swallowed, Merry began to talk again. ”Oh! I’m clumsy, too. Although, I really don’t like to admit it and I tend to go to bed late and wake up early.” She offered a sort of lopsided smile and continued, though now on an entirely different tangent. ”So what made you fall away from acting and dancing? I think you’d be really good at it! I started ballet/jazz when I was about three because my grandma was convinced that all young ladies should know how to dance. I was that terrible that I was asked to stop!” She laughed at this memory, her face lighting up. How terrible would she had to have been to actually be asked to quit dancing?

[OOC: Who made your signature? I've put in three requests in different threads, and so far no-one's responded D: ]
-- Semi-vegan? Lacey thought to herself, wondering how that worked. Her inquiring thoughts were answered immediately. "I always slip into eating chocolate in some way or another." Merry explained before laughing. Lacey inhaled quickly at the sweet sound, and tried to pretend the reason she was partly-choking was because she'd choked on a bit of chicken. Her cheeks turned a soft pink in embarrassment. "So-sorry," she stammered. "I eat t-to quickly." The Rouerie girl realized her hands were shaking, so attempted at busying them by skewering some potato on her fork and placing it in her mouth. Her eyes were turned downward as she ate. God, I hate making a fool of myself.
-- "Paramore is great. I love their new album, though I can’t remember what it’s called. It’s got a butterfly on it or something?" Lacey nodded, and swallowed her potato. It went down easily, despite her aching throat. "Yes," she responded, "It's called Brand New Eyes. For some reason bands that have new albums lately sound totally different. Like Muse's Resistance." Lacey was surprised at how much the two girls had in common. This made her smile, however much she tried not to. She hated every one of her smiles, whether it were a grin or a smirk.
-- In answer to Merry's acting/dancing regarding question, she said, "I'm not sure... I turned into an introvert a while ago, so that kind of discouraged my acting. And there's no where to practice dancing here, unless it's outside, and I would really despise being caught dancing in the middle of the Beauxbatons grounds by myself." Lacey said all of this in one breath, and her smile faltered. "Sorry, blabbing again." Lacey couldn't help but giggle slightly when Merry said she was asked to stop dancing. "You're kidding!" she exclaimed. "But you have a dancer's figure and posture."

Merry widened her eyes as Lacey seemed to have choked on her food, worried that it might escalate into breathlessness or something along those lines. She was just about to pat her on her back to help her cough anything up that might be stuck in her throat, but stopped as Lacey began to speak. Merry smiled.”Don’t be sorry, silly. It’s not like you made yourself choke intentionally...” Lacey at this point had turned a soft shade of pink which made Merry smile even more. Strangely, Lacey looked quite pretty when she went pink with embarrassment. When Merry was little she used to go bright, bright red with embarrassment, and unlike Lacey, she looked fairly unattractive as she very closely resembled a large tomato headed girl.
Merry nodded her head vigorously, agreeing with Lacey’s statement about bands changing their sound. ”Resistance sounds way different! The first time I heard it, I was so weirded out. It was like listening to a different band with the same lead singer. Though, I’m starting to grow on it...” She gazed at Lacey for a moment, wondering if she seemed like the type of person who would listen to another of her favourite bands. ”Have you heard of Robots in Disguise? They’re sort of electro/punk and they’re from England. Not mainstream, though... so you may not have heard of them. Either way, though, they’re great! You should have a listen one day, if you want to. I have their CD in my suit case in the dorm, I think...” Merry didn’t want to force the band upon Lacey and hoped that it hadn’t come across like that.
Unsure of whether having a dancers figure and posture was good; she smiled at Lacey and assumed that it must be a compliment. After all, Lacey didn’t appear to be the sort of person to offend someone. ”Oh, an introvert? Well, if you would like to start dancing again,” Merry grinned jokingly in preparation for what she was about to say, ”I could practise with you outside and everyone would be laughing so much at my apparent inability to dance that they mightn’t notice you! Aha! We must put this plan into action one day. Oh how I’d love to see people staring at my impersonation of a swan... Brilliant...” Merry looked straight into Lacey’s eyes and grinned mischievously right before looking away awkwardly as Lacey’s prettiness entered her mind again. This time it was Merry’s turn to turn a shade of pink with embarrassment.

-- Lacey giggled at Merry's statement about not making herself choke. No, you made me choke. she thought to herself cheekily. Under Merry's smiling gaze, she felt shy and sort of exposed. She tried not to look into her breakfast-companion's eyes, but it was very difficult. They were a beautiful shade, and drew Lacey in as soon as she looked. "I wish I had your eyes..." she whispered, her sentence almost inaudible. "They're beautiful." The pink of Lacey's face had been leaving when she'd said this, but now, due to embarrassment, it was back. She ducked her head, and shifted her body away a little. Her face was growing hot, so she desperately took a sip of some pumpkin juice.
-- "Yeah, I remember seeing the Undisclosed desires video clip, and thinking 'This can't be Muse!' but as soon as I saw Matt, I knew it was. It was so weird, but of course I stayed faithful and loved the whole album." Lacey took in a large breath, as that had used up the last of her oxygen. "Robots in Disguise..." She said quietly to herself. "No, I don't think I have. When we go back to the dorm tonight can you show me? Any music you like is sure to be decent, and I'm kind of getting bored of listening to the same old bands over and over again."
-- "Yeah, I have totally no confidence." Lacey answered, taking another bite of her meal. "I bet you can dance better than me. I mean, I'm kind of good, but my abilities switch on and off randomly. I guess it depends on my mood, but regardless, I can only dance well half of the times I try. And I doubt everyone would be staring at you because of your 'apparent inability to dance'. It's hard not to look at you right now, let alone when you're dancing." The last sentence slipped out without hesitation, and Lacey felt like the biggest creep in the world. "I'm sorry," she rushed out, knocking over her drink in haste to grasp it. She was extremely flustered, so it was difficult to clean up the mess she'd just made, especially when she was embarrassed enough as it was.

[OOC: Oh, I forgot to reply to your question XD Melaina made it for me!]
Lacey’s giggle made Merry feel a sudden rush of uneasiness. Not uneasiness in a bad way, of course, but rather like her stomach had been home to billions of tiny butterflies. She bit her lip and looked into the eyes of her companion as she too looked into Merry’s. Usually she would find this quite awkward but today she simply couldn’t look away. In a way, this worried Merry, ever so slightly. She didn’t want to scare Lacey away and had no idea what the girl was thinking. She was happily surprised, though, when she received a compliment regarding her eyes. Merry grinned and blushed manically. ”Awh, really? I was actually just thinking that your eyes are really pretty, too! Brown eyes are so bland. I wish that I had your eye colour...” She smiled as Laceys face went pink with embarrassment, too. The idea of two tomatoes sitting together made her giggle and she wondered after a while how that thought had even crossed her mind. I’m so glad people can’t read my mind... How embarrassing...
Merry, who had become very passionate about the music conversation, opened her eyes widely and took a deep breath in preparation for an exited blur of words; ”I know! I thought that, too. Now that I think about it, though, I haven’t listened to them in quite a while. I probably should.... and you should definitely listen to the Robots. Hopefully you like them. See, I get a bit excited about things and tend to make them sound better than they really are, so yeah, hopefully I haven’t gotten your hopes up only to have you think, what the heck does this loony listen to?!” Merry laughed and played with the food in front of her. She’d lost her appetite by this point after becoming so enthralled by Lacey. Usually she’d force her feelings away, but this time she couldn’t for some reason.
Merry was confused. How could Lacey possibly have no confidence? She was so pretty! With a pretty face like that, it was amazing that she was so modest. Merry had met girls half as attractive as her friend who thought that they were the most amazing things on the planet. A half smile played across Merry’s lips as Lacey rushed from no confidence to dancing ability to... was it that she thought Merry was pretty? A quick apology had followed and the redheaded girl was made even more confused. She watched as the pretty blonde girl fumbled around, clearly embarrassed. ”Don’t be sorry” She smiled warmly. ”I won’t judge you” She hoped that this suggestive sentence would let Lacey know that she would probably keep her eyes on her, too, and was at this very moment, without being too obvious. However, she’d never been particularly talented at conveying emotions in a stealthy manner. She hoped that Lacey would catch on, nonetheless. Merry grabbed a napkin from beside her and dapped at the liquid which had made its way over to her and chuckled to herself. Usually she was the one fumbling things. It was strange for her to be watching something which was so familiar to her.

[OOC: Where did you apply for one? PM or was there a specific thread?]
-- "Awh, really? I was actually just thinking that your eyes are really pretty, too! Brown eyes are so bland. I wish that I had your eye colour..." Was Merry's response. This made Lacey laugh, as the girl obviously didn't know how stunning her eyes were. "I agree, brown eyes can be bland, but..." Her gaze was drawn up to Merry's. "There's nothing bland about yours." Lacey was surprised Merry could hold her gaze so confidently. After a few moments, she was forced to look away, for fear of awkwardness spreading between the two. "My eyes? Bleuch, now my eyes are bland. Grey-ish blue is so boring." Lacey had never been complimented before, and guessed that to deny all flattery was the normal response.
-- Luckily, Lacey had good hearing. Otherwise it would have been very difficult to hear the blur of words Merry just spoke. "I'll try to expect the worse so they sound as good as they are - if that makes sense. Do you have a cd player or iPod? If not, I reckon someone else in the school will have one that they can lend us. Well, not so much the iPod, unless they have Robots in Disguise." Lacey watched Merry fiddle with her food, and wondered if she felt embarrassed she'd spoken so quickly. Her cheeks were still red, though not as much as before. "Um... Are you ok?" God, I hope that's a normal thing to say.
-- "I won't judge you." Merry replied to her apology. Lacey felt bewildered. What the hell does that mean? There should be a ruddy guidebook for being a teenage girl. "Er... Thanks? But what do you mean?" Lacey looked at Merry quizically.

"I agree, brown eyes can be bland, but... There's nothing bland about yours." Merry grinned broadly for what must have been the hundredth time that day, her cheeks rising up as she did so. When Lacey attempted to convince her that her own eyes were bland, she shook her head vigorously, her hair whipping about like crazy wildfire. ”You’re crazy! Well, crazy, or extremely modest! Your eyes are beautiful, Lace... Merry stopped at the name she’d just called Lacey and bit her lip. Maybe she didn’t like to be associated with types of material. Maybe she hated being called Lace... The girl stumbled over her words, hoping that the pretty girl sitting opposite her didn’t mind the nickname. ”Sorry, that sort of slipped out. I err, well, you know. Err... I just thought that um, I should give you a nickname... Or something. But if you don’t like it, then I won’t bring it up again!” Oh sweet mother of Merlin. It had begun. The fumbling of words spurred by pure embarrassment. She’d wanted more than anything to impress the girl sitting opposite her and had probably just ruined those chances.
Merry nodded her head in verification. She most certainly did have an ipod. A silver one, in fact, and she’d had it for as long as she could remember. It’d gone through the washing machine and dryer a few times, but had survived the journey and had, as a result, proved itself to Merry. She couldn’t wait to show the band to Lacey and hoped that she’d enjoy their music. After she’d been questioned about her well – being, Merry giggled and went even brighter pink. ”Oh, yeah, completely ok. Never been better! This in itself wasn’t a total fib. Merry was feeling pretty good about spending her time with Lacey, though at the same time she was embarrassed by the fact that her enthrallment with the girl had become slightly more evident.
"Er... Thanks? But what do you mean?" Oh crapola. Merry’s eyes bulged. She hadn’t thought that Lacey would ask her directly what she meant. She raced about her mind like a headless chook, yearning for some sort of acceptable response. She could feel her throat tighten with the tension of her inability to respond. Ahhhh!! She looked at Lacey’s quizzical expression and died internally. She was sure Lacey could read her mind and now knew that she’d lost the plot almost entirely, scraping her consciousness for a normal answer. ”What I mean is, is that I do stuff like that all the time. I just didn’t want you to be sorry, is all.” This, in contrast to her previous fib, had been a full blown lie, simply to ensure that she didn’t scare Lacey off. She hoped with all her heart that she had sounded believable and gazed intently at the girl, awaiting her response.

-- You’re crazy! Well, crazy, or extremely modest! Your eyes are beautiful, Lace..." Lacey nearly choked on her drink as Merry nicknamed her. She'd never had a nickname before, and she found it rather odd. She'd heard them before, but to be named something other than what she was used to felt alien. Thankfully, she successfully covered up her near-choking incident by forcing herself not to cough. This caused her eyes to water furiously. Oh God, please don't notice. Lacey saw Merry bite her lip, and saw Merry had realized what she'd said. Sorry, that sort of slipped out. I err, well, you know. Err... I just thought that um, I should give you a nickname... Or something. But if you don’t like it, then I won’t bring it up again!” Lacey shook her head, smiling warmly and lowering her glass. "It's fine. Really. In fact, i think I like Lace. I've never had a nickname before. It's nice."
-- Lacey polished off her meal she'd been quickly eating over their conversation, and downed it all with her last sip of pumpkin juice. "Good," she responded to Merry's affirmation to having an iPod. "I wish I did. I've always had the money and opportunity to, I just guess I don't really need one, because I have a laptop." Lacey wiped her mouth with a napkin and placed her elbows on the table. ”Oh, yeah, completely ok. Never been better!" Lacey raised her eyebrows. "Hm. Convincing," She joked, her eyes twinkling. "If you say so." Lacey didn't want to push the matter further, in fear of seeming obnoxious and nosy. This was something she'd never experienced before, being an introvert and mind-your-own-business sort of person, and didn't want to start now.
-- "What I mean is, is that I do stuff like that all the time. I just didn’t want you to be sorry, is all." Lacey smiled, pretending she knew what Merry meant. She wondered if what her friend had said was entirely truthful. It hadn't sounded like it, but, again, she didn't want to be nosy. So she accepted the answer as though it was totally legitimate. But I can't help wondering what she actually meant by "I won't judge you." Did it mean she understood Lacey's infatuation with Merry? Oh bloody hell, I hope not. But at the same time, she hoped that maybe Merry wasn't straight. By now Lacey had realised she herself wasn't straight, and wondered if being bi or homosexual was a normal thing. To break the awkward ice, Lacey said conversationally, "I wonder if we have any classes together."

"It's fine. Really.” This set Merry’s mind at rest and she was more than happy to learn that Lacey liked the nickname she’d been bestowed. What excited her even more was that the pretty girl hadn’t seemed to mind her sudden outburst of nonsensical rambling. She smiled warmly and sniffed softly as she felt it begin to tickle. Today had proven to be a day worth having, especially since she’d spent it so far with Lace. ”I’m glad you don’t mind... And that you like it. I can keep calling you Lace then, I guess?” Merry beamed and went for her food, which she worried had started to go cold. She shoved a huge mouthful in, shocking herself with how much food she had been able to push in. She smiled again with food pushing out her cheeks and swallowed deeply before heading for a glass of pumpkin juice sitting in front of her.
”You have a laptop! Ah, I’d do anything to have one, but I probably couldn’t afford it. What are they, like, a few hundred pounds? Completely insane.” Merry laughed softly, reminiscing to a time when she probably could afford a laptop; when she still had her mum. Now that she was being supported by her grandmother, the money situation was a little bit tight, though generally this didn’t worry Merry at all. She choked when Lace seemed to see right through her. Oh gosh, she really can read my mind... Even though the girl had said it in a joking way, Merry could sense that she didn’t really believe her fib. She blinked a few times at Lacey and smiled unsurely, feeling slightly exposed to her friends knowledge ability. The redheaded girl left it at that, not wanting to say anything that would reveal her feelings for her friend. For all Merry knew, Lace was well and truly straight and would surely run for the hills if Merry were to reveal her affection for her.
Merry could see Lace’s thoughts run wild and free. Well, she couldn’t actually see them, but from the girls expression she guessed that Lace was thinking deeply about something in particular. Her body tensed as she wondered whether it might have had something to do with knowing how Merry felt about her. She felt her blood run cold as she prayed that Lace wouldn’t walk away, creeped out by Merry’s craze with her. After a minute or two, though, she had successfully talked some sense into herself. She figured that there was no point in stressing herself out, and that if there truly was a problem, then Lace probably would have left a long time ago. "I wonder if we have any classes together." All too suddenly, Merry responded with authentic excitement. ”Oh, I hope so! That would be great! I’m really looking forward to Care of Magical Creatures... When I was younger, I always wanted to be a veterinarian and animals are so beautiful. I wonder what the ‘magical creatures’ are like?” Merry furrowed her eyebrows in thought. Were there really unicorns and centaurs in existence? She’d heard other students talking about them previously, but wasn’t sure whether to believe what she heard or not.

-- ”I’m glad you don’t mind... And that you like it. I can keep calling you Lace then, I guess?” Lacey smiled warmly, and nodded. "Please do," she instructed, brushing her bleached-blond hair out of her eyes. Merry's low voice was difficult to hear over the babble of the Beauxbatons students, so she leaned inconspicuously toward her new friend in order to hear better. She had often had problems with hearing, resulting in embarrassing and annoying repetitions of saying 'pardon?' constantly. Lacey knew she had many flaws, probably more than good qualities, so she felt the need to hide her bad qualities to a new friend, especially to someone like Merry.
-- "You have a laptop! Ah, I’d do anything to have one, but I probably couldn’t afford it. What are they, like, a few hundred pounds? Completely insane." "Yes," Lacey answered, glad she'd heard everything Merry had just said, "I used to work at a coffee shop when I lived with mum. That's how I got the money." Lacey was about to continue when Merry appeared to begin choking. "Um, you ok?" she inquired, laughing nervously. Not entirely sure of what to do, she sat, biting her lip. She wished to thump Merry on the back, but feared of how her friend would react when Lacey touched her. So instead she stayed put, twiddling her thumbs.
-- Lacey noticed Merry studying her face thoughtfully. She immediately wiped the pensive look off her face, and smiled unconvincingly. She attempted at relaxing her muscles, and calming her frantically-working brain down, but that had no success. Just as she was starting to panic about awkwardness spreading, Merry blurted out: ”Oh, I hope so! That would be great! I’m really looking forward to Care of Magical Creatures... When I was younger, I always wanted to be a veterinarian and animals are so beautiful. I wonder what the ‘magical creatures’ are like?” Lacey nodded in agreement. "Yes, I was hoping to sign up for C.O.M.C too, and perhaps Mythology. I like Astronomy and Divination too. I guess I'm not that into practical magic." She joked, hoping to lighten up the situation.

Otis sat on the bench of the Rouerie table. A plate in front of him with a few scrapes of food left, Otis began to play with his food. With a fork in his right hand, Otis pushed the green beans around his plate and poked at the green beans as well. He felt like a scientist disecting the green bean with his fork. Bean by bean and was making his way to mushed up green beans. As he picked the seeds out of the green beans, Otis gathered them in a pile yet again with his handy fork. With the green beans off to the left, and the green bean beans off to the right, Otis analyzed his next move. Like a horror movie for green bean watchers, Otis began to stab the green beans with his silver fork. Green bean by green bean, Otis stabbed away until they didn't have much of a green bean shape. It was all a cluttered mess and Otis grimaced since he desperatly needed something to do. Now looking to the beans of the green beans, Otis used the flater side of the fork and began to smush them. He had difficulty keeping the beans under his fork and they kept moving around with their slippery surfaces.
Eventually, Otis got the beans to smush under his fork and he was successful! A smile played onto his lips and Otis soon swept the smile off his face. Did he really just mash his green beans into a pulp? Looking back down to his massacre, Otis grimaced as the gross image on his plate with the beans. Was he that bored? He really needed to find someone to talk to. This was just pathetic. Where was everybody anyways? Were they in class or in their common rooms chatting away? Maybe they were in the library studying for their exams that were coming up soon. Sighing, Otis wanted to leave, but he felt too lazy to go up any stairs or just walk in general. So there he sat where he was hoping someone would come up to him and talk to him. He wasn't really in the outgoing mood to go up to someone and chat them up, but he wanted to talk to at least one person! What a complicated feeling...
Looking around at the Rouerie table, there weren't many people at all. The closest people were two girls who looked deep in conversation. Not really wanting to break up their little girl talk they were most likely having, Otis lazily turned his gaze to some other group of people. People watching wasn't particularly his favorite hobby, but when someone was bored with nothing do to, one might as well watch what other people were doing. At this time of day, not many were eating so there wasn't much room for people watching. Sighing loudly and dragging it out to make it sound dramatic, Otis dropped his fork next to his plate and rested his cheek against his fist.

Lily rolled out of bed, ready to start another school day. Suddenly, realization hit her. Today was the last day of term, she would be a second year soon... a second year prefect. She smiled and did a little Billy Elliot dancing or, as a girl at her school used to say, she was dancing Belliot style. Lily looked outside, it seemed like it would be warm and definitely sunny. She looked down at her pajamas; a tank top and shorts. Lily went to the bathroom and turned on the shower before going back into the "living area". She set out a pair of shorts, socks, shoes, tee shirt, and her prefects badge. Lily was ready to go out... after she took a shower and ate some food. She went back into the bathroom and stepped inside the shower, alarmed at how warm the water was. Lily set the water back to it's normal heated temperature and began to wash her face and hair. She scrubbed soap all over her body as she finished her hair routine: wet hair, shampoo, conditioner.
Lily was already done with the steps for the face wash so she turned off the water and got out of the shower. She took a towel and began to dry herself off. Lily wrapped the towel around herself as she began to brush her hair. She sprayed some spray-on conditioner stuff to make it easier to brush through. Her fiery red mane eventually settled down and she was able to dry it magically, using her wand of course. Lily got into the clothes that she had set out for herself. She moved about the room, feeling happy that she could wear shorts all the time, but she was still sad that all of her jeans wouldn't be used for awhile. Lily put her hair in a bun, wrapping her wand into it. She looked at herself in the mirror and deemed herself able to walk out of the dorm room. Lily took her bag and wand before walking out of her dorm room and down the stairs. She entered the common room, right as a few people were rallying a group to go down to breakfast.
Lily joined the group and the Rouerie's strolled down the corridors, chattering loudly as they went. She found that Rouerie's talked about all sorts of things; books, animals, classes, the difference between platypus' and other "mythical animals", and much more. Lily joined in on the chat and sat near the edge of the table, next to Otis. "Hey drama queen. What was that long sigh for?" she said playfully. Lily began to put food on her plate. She piled a croissant, fruit, french toast, and some more fruit. Lily picked up her fork and began to eat the fruit. She ate all the fruit except the pineapples, wanting to save the best for last. Lily looked back at Otis as she nibbled on her pineapples, enjoying the taste of each piece. Beauxbatons sure did have some mighty nice fresh fruit.
