As soon as he let out his long sigh that he dragged out making it sound more dramatic than needed, a voice pipped up and Otis jumped a little bit wondering what was going on. Looking to his left, there sat his dear friend Lily James Harper. Raising his eyebrows and a smile that slowly came to be, he suddenly had hope that today wouldn't be a total waste of his life. His mushed up bean pile was forgotten easily as soon as the voice of Lily had hit his eardrums signally his brain that it was Lily. His smile was huge now since he was ever so happy to see someone that he could talk to. Otis watched her as she piled food onto her plate and saw that she had some pinapple on her plate. Trying not to grimace at the gross choice of pineapple, Otis held his smile. He almost decided to make his smile really creepy and mess around with her for a bit, but Otis wasn't exactly in the mood. All his boredum had gotten to him and he almost felt sleepy and wanted to take a nap. Yeah, that wasn't going to happen since the day had just started in a way.
"I'm so boooooored."
Otis wined in a girly voice and rolling his eyes dramatically. Laughing after that Otis shook his head. "But you have just saved my day from being a complete waste. Doesn't that make you feel just dandy!" Otis said not sure why he had said the word 'dandy'. Being bored could bring about weird moods. Still hungry, Otis grabbed a few strawberries and tried to push his green bean massacre to the other side of the plate in a small pile. Not bothering to but the green leafy part off, Otis went ahead and bit into the strawberry, making sure he didn't eat the leafy top of the strawberry. "Yuuuum." Otis added after licking the jucie off his lips and closed his eyes for an effect. Enough fooling around, Otis grew excited as he began to think of something to talk about: second year. Spazzing out slightly by dropping his strawberry like it was hot metal and turning quickly to his left to face Lily, he slapped his hands onto his thighs which had shorts over them, he bounced ever so slightly with a big grin on his face. "Second years baby! I'm so pumped right now! You going anywhere? I am. I can't wait! Ahh!" Otis asked in a rush as he couldn't contain his excitement.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Lily smiled as she came upon Otis. He jumped a little and raised his head, wondering who was talking to him. What a sleepy head, she thought. She was pretty tired as well, but she usually tried to not let her sleepiness show. Once a month or once every two months she had a sleep day or just a day when she was all tired and chill. Lily decided that this had to be one of those days for Otis. She was delighted to sit near her friend, she had recently gone on an adventure with Otis and it had been so much fun. Lily sat down and piled food onto her plate. She sighed lightly and began to eat. Her pineapple tasted delicious, she had never been one for the taste when she was little, but now the sweetness attracted her. It also helped that one of the stars she had been in love with before had loved pineapples. That was probably why she to began to eat them.
Lily smiled as Otis complained in his "girl" voice. "Oh, Otis, such a drama queen. Even I don't talk like that," she said. Lily began to eat a bit more, enjoying the taste of the food of Beauxbatons. Her family had never been very good at cooking, so it was definitely the "great escape" when Beauxbatons had fed Lily the greatest food ever. "AH I AM THE SAVIOR! It just makes me feel all fuzzy inside Otis, I've finally completed my life," she smiled happily. It was always good to see one of her close friends at breakfast. Sometimes they didn't always see each other because they weren't roommates, had different schedules, didn't have the same class, were in different houses, etc. Lily crossed her legs and licked her fork, not quite sure how she felt about a pineapple taste on metal or silver, whatever the forks were made up of. She sighed and wondered for another topic. "Enjoying your strawberry?" Lily asked sarcastically. She took a strawberry and began to eat it, thinking that it did smell good.
Lily chuckled a little as Otis dropped his fork like he was playing hot potato. Speaking of which, she hadn't played that game for awhile. Lily smiled so wide she thought her face would blow up. "I KNOW! I'M SOOOOO PUMPED!!!! Though, I'll miss first year, but I've long outlived it... We have to make third year together too! I CAN'T WAIT!" Lily exclaimed excitedly. She smiled more, Lily was really good at going into girl squeal mode. It was basic for every girl, in the handbook.

Emily was quite bored that morning. She'd woken up far earlier than she ever thought she could manage and now she wandered around the castle, her wings beating slowly as she strolled(or whatever the flying equivalent was) through the castle trying to find something to do. She usually didn't eat until later but her stomach continued to growl until Emily had about enough of the noise and thought about going into the crowded dining chamber where breakfast was being served. She wasn't sure how she'd fit into the crowed. She never ate at the table often. The last time she could remember doing so was over a year ago. She also didn't have many rouerie friends and considered the fact that she probably would feel awkward sitting there alone, chowing on fruit. The idea of going into the kitchen and eating was another thought but it was probably busier or more crowded down there than it was up in the dining chamber.
She would have eaten outside but it was down pouring and lightening and thundering and she wasn't in the mood to be soggy and soaking wet even in a knot of tree since the rain was not coming straight down, but on an angle. So she was stuck inside which forced her to sit at a table with a bunch of students of which half she may not even know their names for they were new and she didn't socialise like most of the others did. Walking through the open oak doors into the dining chamber, she looked down the table to see if there were any available seats and unlucky or lucky for her, there was one left and taking long strides, she took a seat at the table, folding her skirt underneath of her as she sat. Even pulled up under her bust over her white blouse, the skirt was still long.
Just as she sat down, she was greeted with the exclamation of otis and lily sitting across from her, talking about how they would be 2nd years next term. Emily, unfortunately not move up next term, she was too far behind to do so but she was slowly getting there and it didn't matter too much, she had made the school her home and leaving it would probably send her back to the life she had before she came here except without her mother involved. Emily knew Otis and Lily both and though she could never claim to have ever actually been friends with them, she certainly used to talk to them when they all arrived around the same time years ago. Keeping silent and staying out of their conversation, Emily filled a bowl with fruit salad and other various fruits laying about and began to munch on it, not using a fork. She was a civilized human but also a wild creature, silverware just wasn't her thing.

"Um, you ok? Merry went as white as a sheet. So Lacey did know that something was up. Her face went pink with embarrassment as she nodded her head, a faux smile playing across her lips as she prayed that Lacey would believe her. Just to make sure, Merry tried to assure her friend that she was okay; ”I’m fine. Sorry, just choked on my pumpkin juice. It went down the wrong way.” She sniffed gently and rubbed her nose with her sleeve before looking around the room. More people had arrived since Merry and Lacey had entered the hall. Another redheaded girl caught her attention as she thought and confirmed within her mind that she knew her. This was the girl whom she had shared a dorm with momentarily before joining Lacey in her dorm instead. Merry felt slightly guilty for ditching Lily, but was ever so happy that she now shared a dorm with Lacey and Samantha.
“Yes, I was hoping to sign up for C.O.M.C too, and perhaps Mythology. I like Astronomy and Divination too. I guess I'm not that into practical magic." Merry laughed in agreement. She’d never been very interested in the practical subjects at muggle school like mathematics, so why would Beauxbatons be any different? She was a little unsure about divination, though. After growing up in a Christian home she didn’t know whether or not she should become involved in the subject. Though, that being said, Merry wasn’t entirely certain of what Divination involved. Hoping that maybe Lacey had a better idea than she, Merry enquired; ”What’s Divination about, do you know?” This thought of Divination being wrong for a Christian soon fizzled out as Merry realised that she was actually attending a magical school. That in itself went against Christianity, didn’t it? She frowned slightly and pushed it from her mind. What was the point in thinking about such philosophical issues when she’d rather spend her time enjoying life? She smiled at Lacey when she realised that she’d been slightly rude in wandering off with the fairies like she had.

[OOC: If that's your idea of short, my apologies for all the posts I've written!]
-- ”I’m fine. Sorry, just choked on my pumpkin juice. It went down the wrong way.” Unconvinced, Lacey nodded at Merry's explanation of why she'd appeared slightly upset. She noticed her friend look around the hall, and imitated the motion. She noted the quantity of occupants of the dining chamber had grown without her noticing, and wondered if it had been because she was so intrigued by Merry that she had failed to notice anything else. The thought embarrassed Lacey slightly, and she was glad Merry couldn't read her mind, as she had previously been seeming to do. The fact that Merry appeared to see right through her was unnerving, so she tried to forget all about it and appear nonchalant.
-- ”What’s Divination about, do you know?” the fact that Merry didn't know what Divination was about surprised Lacey. She'd thought the other students were very unlike herself. She'd been previously under the impression they knew everything these was to know about this school, and that she was an outsider. I'm still and outsider, she thought glumly, placing her elbow on the table and her jaw in her palm. "Divination is... Hm, how to explain it. Lacey racked her brains for the most accurate description of the subject. She settled with explaining what you were taught. "Well, in Divination you learn how to read tea-leaves, crystal balls and tarot cards. You also learn what motions and happenings in your dreams symbolize, and how to benefit from that knowledge. That's the basics, anyway." Explaining the subject made Lacey realize why she was attracted to the class in the first place.

Alyssa smiled to herself beneath the silky covers. Another day at Beauxbatons seemed like the best idea in the world. Throwing back the duvet, she stretched and yawned loudly. It had been the best night since she escaped from 'home'. But this was her home now. Alyssa looked at the miniature clock on her bedside table. It read "10.00am". Damn. Late, again. Alyssa had never been one to wake early, she had been a 'late-bird' for as long as she could remember. Alyssa quickly combed her hair, changed into a pair of denim shorts, tights, and a yellow tank top.
After about half an hour of endless searching for the dining room, she finally came to a halt to big, beautiful doors. She opened them and smiled- there were three long tables. Alyssa made her way to the Rouerie table and sat next to two girls, who were in conversation. Alyssa plugged into her iPod and listened to her favourite band. She loved music, and even better; performing. She put a buttered croissant and a handful of fruit onto her plate, and poured some pumpkin juice into her fine silver goblet.
Music pounding in her ears, she chewed her food, over-analysing each line of the song thoughtfully. Alyssa tended to over analyse- a lot. She was quite a deep sort of person.

Merry bit her lower lip as she realised how unconvincing she had appeared. She sniffed following this action and continued to gaze around the hall. Its enormous size would never cease to amaze her, what with the overly long tables and grandeur. The Dining chamber was, in every sense, absolutely stunning. Merry smiled to herself, glad that she had been accepted into Beauxbatons. Not only had it proven to be a brilliant place in terms of friendship and possibly more with one girl in particular, the school had been successful in taking her mind away from the absence of her mother. How strange is it, Merry would think inwardly from time to time, that not long ago I was at my old school without any knowledge whatsoever of magic... and now it’s everywhere!
"Well, in Divination you learn how to read tea-leaves, crystal balls and tarot cards. You also learn what motions and happenings in your dreams symbolize, and how to benefit from that knowledge. That's the basics, anyway." Merry blushed uncontrollably. She felt as though she should know more about the subjects that were available at Beauxbatons, but really she had no idea. ”Sorry...” Merry said finally, ”I’m a bit of a dweeb in that way, I guess! She laughed happily, though the faintest amount of an urge to cover her embarrassment was evident. ”But yeah, that actually sounds really interesting! I’ve always been interested in dream interpretation and tarot cards, though my church would probably freak out at me for saying so!” She laughed again, this time genuinely contented, and scanned the halls again. It really was filling up at a rapid pace. Looking at her finished dish and empty cup Merry put her hands in her lap and smiled at Lacey. Why did she have to be so pretty? Why did Merry have to be attracted to the girl who she’d become fairly close to? As these thoughts spiralled through Merry’s consciousness, she made a proposal; ”Do you recon we should leave now? We can go to the common room or something? The students are piling in now and I really, really, reeeaalllyy want to show you Robots in Disguise!”

[OOC: I hope you don't mind the minor power-play, it's just to speed things up and so you don't have to reply]
-- Lacey grabbed an apple from in front of her, and took a large bite out of it. She'd always loved apples, and found it was nearly impossible to eat too many and get sick of them. She curiously watched Merry blush, and couldn't help but smile a little. "Sorry..." Said Merry, clearly embarrassed or upset. "I’m a bit of a dweeb in that way, I guess! But yeah, that actually sounds really interesting! I’ve always been interested in dream interpretation and tarot cards, though my church would probably freak out at me for saying so!" Lacey shook her head in mild disbelief. "You couldn't be a dweeb in any way." She knew this compliment sounded like one a girl would give a guy, or vice versa, but she didn't really care. Covering up my feelings is proving to be difficult. She thought to herself.
-- "So have I," Lacey commented on Merry's last statement, "Even when I thought I was a muggle, I was heavily into magic." Memories of Lacey sitting in her candle-lit room surrounding by burning incense and magical ornaments were played in her mind as though dispensed from a projector. She remembered sitting in the center of a five-pointed star surrounding by a circle, chanting ancient spells and enchantments. Lacey giggled softly at the memory. "So," she started conversationally, "You go to church?" Lacey had always been thoroughly against religion. She considered it pointless and a waste of time. Especially since every religion had irrational restrictions that she would not bow to.
-- "Do you reckon we should leave now? We can go to the common room or something? The students are piling in now and I really, really, reeeaalllyy want to show you Robots in Disguise!" Lacey nodded enthusiastically, and Merry stood up in response. Lacey placed her half-eaten apple down on the table and stood up to Merry's side, taking her new friend's hand in her own. "Come on!" She beckoned, pulling Merry down the hall and smiling contently.

It's been almost a full term since the last time Otis actually thought about last term while eating. Last term he was just a first year and he and Lily were talking about how fun it would be to be a second year, but of course they'd miss being first years. After all they had been first years for quite a long time, Otis longer than Lily, but the point was made. Plus Otis had been excited for the term break since it'd be his frist time going home in over two years. It was nice goign to see his family and then having the surprise of his older brother Atlas to come work as an accountant at Beauxbatons for who knows how long. Otis didn't even know that Atlas liked accounting or even math at the very least! People change he guessed and Atlas had over the time being in one place for almost six months now. That was just a goal itself! Plus he heard he met a girl and that didn't surprise Otis at all. His family was one to fall in love too easilly. It was probably because of the heritage they were from corrupting them into thinking that one could love so easily with so many people.
Sitting down on a bench at the Rouerie table, Otis didn't bother to look around since he just wanted to get something to eat. He was always as hungry as a bear that just woke up from hibernation. Piling on some pancakes, bacon, sliced bananas and some eggs onto his plate, Otis reached for the bottle of syrup and poured it on thickly over the pancakes and bananas. The syrup dripped onto the other food items on his plate, but Otis didn't mind very much. Besides, syrup and any breakfast food seemed to go together in Otis' opinion. Grabbing his silver fork, Otis began to dive into his pile of food on his decorative white plate. The first couple of bits Otis never thought to taste he was so hungry, but after awhile he began to slow down as his stomach didn't protest too much from the lack of food. Now the quesiton was, should he stuff his face with food and then go take a long nap, or eat enough to survive until lunch. The first option sounded like a marvelous plan to Otis since a nap sounded awesome. But then again he had just woke up, but Otis was too hungry to not stop eating.
On he went and soon only the bacon was left. Otis always left the bacon on his plate for last. Bacon was just so deliciously good! The crispy bacon in his mouth was just mouthwatering to Otis as he chewed. With his fork back on the table, Otis used his fingers to eat the bacon. The syrup proved to be a bit sticky against his fingers, but Otis would just wash them off or maybe even lick them off since he wanted to sit around for a bit to try to catch someone to talk with. The bacon was gone and Otis began to lick his thumb, pointer finger and middle finger since those two were the only sticky ones. Wipping his fingers off and his face from any food particles, Otis leaned back and rubbed his stomach from a satisfying meal. Slouching down again, Otis pushed his plate over and began to swivel his head back and forth to see if he saw anybody he knew.

It had been a long time since Lily had had a real conversation at the Rouerie table. Generally she just dine and dashed, but having nothing better to do, she decided that she would eat her meal for awhile, as she was procrastinating with her homework. Lily decided to get dressed as her ducky short shorts and a tank top would probably not be accepted while wandering about the school. Lily might think it's fine, but she wasn't sure that that's what the staff wanted students to be wearing everyday and they couldn't just make ONE exception. Cause then they'd have to let every student walk about in their skimpy pajamas, which, even though some would enjoy it, would not be the best idea. Lily pulled on a pair of tight jeans and a green sweater before pulling on a pair of flats and brushing her hair.
Lily put her wand in her pocket, as you never know what adventures you might find in the castle. She looked at herself in the mirror and took a comb and fixed her side part before leaving her room. Lily walked down the spiral staircase before leaving the common room. She walked down the remaining staircases, looking about as she walked, careful not to let the staircases move or miss a trick step. Lily stepped into the entrance hall, skipping as she proceeded into the dining chamber. She sat down at the Rouerie table near Otis as he was chomping on his food per usual. Lily remembered the last time that they had eaten when they had been going into second year. Now they were going to enter third year together.
Lily put waffles, bacon and sausages on her plate, along with hash browns. She put maple syrup in a bowl for dipping her waffle before pouring herself some water. Lily began to eat her waffle, dipping little bits into her maple syrup. "How are you Otis? Can you believe it... we're both gonna make it to third year! Slowly climbing the ladder," she said jokingly. She ate a bit more waffle before surveying the scene of Rouerie's, Cossu's, Sournois' and staff members. Break had already started and Lily wasn't planning on going home, her mother probably wouldn't be there anyway. But maybe Otis was going something...? "So, you doing anything for break before third year? she inquired. Lily munched on her bacon as she waited for a reply...

The bacon was gone and Otis began to run his tounge over his thumb, pointer finger and middle finger since those three fingers were the only sticky ones after eating his meal. Wipping his fingers off from the now saliva covered fingers and his face from any food particles, Otis leaned back and rubbed his aching stomach from a satisfying meal. Slouching again, Otis gentley pushed his plate to the side and began to look back and forth to see if he saw anybody he knew. Not seeing anybody at first, Otis was about to stand up when out of nowhere there was a familiar voice that he heard. Halfway standing up and halfway sitting down, Otis looked to the side he didn't check last to see if he saw anybody.
There to his left was his dear friend Lily James Harper. Smiling, Otis sat back down and turned his body to face her. She had a plate full of food just like Otis had, but she didn't seem to vaccuum the food in like Otis had. Otis felt like he should eat something just because Lily had been, but Otis was still way too full, so he decided to pass this time around. "Hey Lily! Long time no see!"
Otis greeted her and began to sip on some water, hoping that maybe the ache in his stomach would go down just a bit. "I've been good I guess. I'm just glad school's over, it was such a long term in my opinion." Otis filled her in and he took a longer sip this time, pondering on the term's not so successful term. The classes were incredibly small this year, but all Otis was excited for next term was Charms class again. That class was so much fun even if the teach was pretty harsh. The second part of Lily's sentence made Otis smile. He was sure he had just barely made it to Third year and Otis was just either way. Of course he was disappointed that he had just barely made it. He'd rather have known in confidence that he made it to third year. Of course either way he had accomplished a goal: make it to third year right away. Fourth year...well Otis had a feel it was going to be slightly more hard just because it was their O.W.L.s term and Otis was extremely nervous. "YES! It's so exciting! This plan of ours is working and next term we'll have to try so much more harder to get fourth year." Otis explained, maybe in a bit too much detail. "Ah, we probably shouldn't worry about fourth year until we actually start our third year." Otis chuckled. He was getting ahead of himself already. Going away for term break? Otis didn't think so. His main focus was to get Dippy as his girlfriend. It's been way too long and Otis didn't think he could wait much longer as a single man when they both knew that they wanted each other. Besides, his parents probably didn't mind him coming home this time around. Otis wasn't really fond of being home since that meant doing a butt load of boring stuff like helping his dad with the farm. Besides, Otis liked being around his friends way more than being with his family. "Naaah. I'm gonna stay here like every other term break. It's so much more fun here in my opinion. You going anywhere?" Otis asked Lily just being curious.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Fleur flew into the Dining Hall, after talking to Cameron, to see if she could find anyone else she knew. She flew by the Rouerie table, and thanked her lucky stars, when she saw her friend, Emily Stanton. They had lots of things in common with the foremost being fairy blood and wings. Fleur had thought she was the only fairy with wings, but couldn't have been more delighted when she met Emily. She knew that Emily didn't eat in here often and felt awkward doing it, because she didn't have very friends in Rouerie.
Fleur looked out the windows and saw that it was thundering and lightening. That explains why Emily is eating at the table. She doesn't want to get wet. I wouldn't either, it takes forever to get my wings dry again. Fleur thought. Her papa loved thunder storms, the power the showed amazed him. Fleur liked rain, but not storms, they frightened a lot of of the horses at their stable.
She smiled as she saw Emily eating fruit without a fork. Just another reminder that Emily was a fairy, just like Fleur. She rearranged her dress and slid into the seat next to her and pulled a juicy pear off of a platter of fruit near her. She, like Emily, didn't like using silverware, it sometimes made more of a mess then was necessary. Her mama would certainly scold her for eating with her fingers, but it was just sort of natural for Fleur.
She turned her attention toward Emily and decided to strike up a conversation with her. "Bonjour, Emily. I was happily surprised to see you eating in here. Do you have new roommates already? I still need to find some.

To say that the castle of Beauxbatons is huge is an understatement. At least, in Esperanza's eyes it was huge. She had never been in a place like Beauxbatons before, so to say that she's a little scared is not even close to the truth. She timidly walked along the hallways of the Rouerie chambers, still unsure about where to stay and what to do. At last, she decided that she was hungry enough to worry about dorm rooms and such later and go to the Dining chambers to eat some food.
For Esperanza, eating was always an option. It always depended on whether you had enough money or enough food to feed all, not just yourself. Nothing was more important than taking care of others, despite who they are and despite who you are. However, Esperanza left that lesson behind her. It was part of her past and therefore no longer in her life.
She enter the dining chamber and began to feel very nervous at the sight of other people in there. She saw teachers at the High Table and was reminded of the cruel adults she knew. She saw her classmates and thought of the snobby boy who followed her to the Bay of Biscay that fateful day. But that doesn't matter anymore, she silently scolded to herself. She forced a polite smile on her face and politely asked the others, "¿Puedo sentarme aquí?"

Fleur was moderately happy as she ate, the wonderful food that Beauxbatons had to offer. Beauxbatons has the most amazing chief ever! Fleur hummed happily as she ate. Maybe she would see a familar face around. If she didn't, Fleur was always up to meeting new friends. She could introduce her new friends to her cousin Kasey. Fleur was so glad that she and Kasey had made amends. Life had been lonely without her favorite cousin.
"¿Puedo sentarme aquí" Fleur turned around to see the speaker. She was a small girl about eleven. "Sorry, Do you speak French or English? Parlez-vous français ou en anglais?" She asked the girl. "If a seat is what you need, you can sit by me." Fleur then moved over a bit, which left room on the bench for the new girl. Its seems as if I have gotten m,y wish of making some new friends. I hope she doesn't mind my wings.. Fleur thought.

Esperanza was immediately embarassed. She forgot that she is in France, not Spain. But then again, maybe that's a good thing. Esperanza sat down next to the girl and said, "Perdoname. I speak English as well, but I am from Spain." Then, Esperanza saw a beautiful apple, took it, and began eating it hungrily. She can't remember the last time she'd eaten. Oh well, since she is here at Beauxbatons where there is more than enough food, then surely she can learn to get used to it, not like she is complaining.
After she finished her apple, Esperanza took a toast and spread some butter on it. She bit into it and immediately savored it. This is the first time she's ever eaten butter, and goodness does it taste good. Before she coud think any more, her toast was gone, herself having eaten every last bite. Esperanza completely regretted it and soon gathered her things. She is full anyway and for all she knows somebody might recognize her and immediately call her out right then and there.
Once all of her things were gathered, Esperanza stood up and went to leave, but she tripped on the bench and fell. "Gran!" she muttered to herself and stood up again, her face burning with red. Fortunately this is the first time she's fallen in weeks, but unfortunately, Esperanza knew it would not be the last. She turned to the girl and said, "Gracias para..." she stopped herself from speaking any more Spanish and said, 'Thank you for letting me sit here. Goodbye." And before she or anybody else could do anything else, Esperanza turned and left to go to classes, doing her best to avoid anybody's gaze. She is embarassed enough already, surely nobody else needs to hurt her any further than she's already hurt herself.
