All I know is that you're so nice You're the nicest thing I've seen I wish that we could give it a go See if we could be something
It had only been a few days since Mathew had confronted Rachele on the roof top. He was done playing silly games with her. He couldn’t keep messing around with her and not expect her to just go along with it. He wanted her more than she even knew. Mathew needed Rachele and he would do what he had to keep her around, even if that resulted in changing for her. It was like from the moment he had offered his blood to her that he could not get her out of his head. Rachele had enchanted him and he was unable to break that spell - not that he wished for it to end. He liked where he was. He felt like he was in a dream state. He was floating on cloud when he was with her and every moment that he wasn’t with her he was thinking about being her.
It was their plans for the afternoon that had caused the tornado of clothes that littered his floor. Everything had to be absolutely perfect and that included his wardrobe choice. Mattie didn’t care how much of a girl it made him seem to be, he wanted to look good for Rachele. She did the same for him so why shouldn’t he reciprocate? It was when he reached the last button up in his closet that he had finally settled on his outfit. He shrugged his brawny shoulders as he slipped his arms into his navy oxford. The majority of his closet consisted of one hundred and one hues of blue button ups and matching ties. Buttoning his grey vest and matching pants, he habitually checked his watch; he was going to be late at this rate. His shiny red shoes were the last thing he threw on before he swung open his dorm room door and shuffling rapidly down the tower steps towards the common room.
His cousin was sprawled in an armchair near the sunny window; his eyes only met hers for a moment before he nodded to her and gave her a slight wink. Mathew heard her wolf whistle at him before he swept out of the commons room. A smirk planted on his face as he took the staircases three at a time, his toes tapping on the cobblestone as he ascended towards the grounds.
His feet swiftly carried him towards the tea shop and as he got closer he watched the time to ensure that he was not late for this very important date. He had considered asking her to meet him at the club but many a times their meetings had occurred there and that never ever went well. The loud music and slobbering people in the smoky club made it impossible for the two to focus on each other. They need silence and intimate, warm environment. The tea shop was perfect for exactly that reason.
Pulling open the door a bell chimed to warn the shop keep that someone had entered. A young long haired chap looked up at him for a minute, smiled and went back to his work. Mathew ran a hand through his hair and sighed heavily. His eyes scanned the room for a suitable spot for their date. He chose a comfortable looking couch in the back corner of the room to wait for Rachele. Mathew plopped down the loveseat, his massive frame taking up almost the whole thing. He fidgeted. It was only a matter of time till his company arrived. He didn’t know if he could stand the waiting.

It was maddening. That was all there was to it. Rachele made a little noise of exasperation and seriously contemplated gently banging her head against the closet in front of her. On the floor around her lay almost all the clothes that she owned. There were still some things to go through, but so far her quest for an outfit to wear to meet with Mathew had been slightly less than successful. Truth was that she had many pretty things that she could easily have worn, but nothing had seemed right to her. She couldn't understand how she could have nothing to wear when she had mountains of clothing. She also couldn't understand why it was that she cared so much. It wasn't like her.
Normally, she was able to see Mathew without really thinking too much about her clothes. Yes, she did try to look good for him, but it wasn't a tornado affair like it was this time. Normally, she was able to just step back and look at the closet for a moment before finding something. Really, if she admitted it to herself she knew exactly why she was feeling this way. It was because this time they were going on a date. What she expected from it, she was not sure. What she hoped for was another story. She couldn't begin to express how much she cared for Mathew. He was on her thoughts, and if she had the ability or need to sleep, she felt sure that he would be in her dreams too. He was such a part of her. This date meant far more than any date she had ever gone on.
After a moment, she picked herself up and stuck her had into the very back of her closet. When her hand came back out, she was holding a dress that she had not worn in quite some time. Really it was quite new, but she had bought it right before she was turned. It hadn't been touched since then. Surprisingly, it was just what she was looking for. "And it only took a small tornado and two hours," she muttered in exasperation with herself. Fortunately, the clean up was easy enough with her wand. Then, she quickly changed into her outfit. For a moment, she looked at herself in the mirror. She felt her nerves starting to come on, but at the very least she felt as though she looked alright. With a deep breath, she gathered up her wand and a small bag before beginning her journey to Just in Thyme.
As she walked, she again began to think of Mathew again. Honestly, when she had accepted his invitation to go to the shop, she had not expected to have such a large reaction as the time came closer. She wondered if he was going through all of this as well or if she was alone in her anticipation. Hopefully it wasn't the latter. Not that she'd ever find out though as she was definitely not going to tell him how nervous she'd been over this. As the shop began to come into sight, she felt another wave of nerves come over her. There was no question about it, something was going to happen today. What it was, she was not sure.
Before she went inside, she took a moment to calm herself. She was excited about seeing Mathew, and that helped a little. Carefully, she opened the door and walked in. She smiled at the employee, and then her eyes immediately scanned the room for Mathew. It didn't take long to find him especially with his new scent. Her smile widened as she made her way towards him. He looked exceedingly handsome today. In a moment, she just a few feet from him. "Hope I didn't keep you waiting long," she said apologetically.

Mathew’s gaze drew up from the floor at the sound of a familiar melodic voice. His eyes widened as his stare landed on the striking Rachele Mistrot. She looked like a goddess. It took a moment before he realized that he was just staring with a gaping mouth at the young woman. She had truly left him speechless. Mattie stood as she approached him. Once the initial shock dissipated, he was able to speak and shake his head. ”No, I just got here myself.” the next thing that came out of his mouth seemed to just fall out. ”You look stunning.” his voice was breathy and exasperated. He pecked her cheek softly before returning to his standing spot.
It might be one of the worst wizard clichés but he couldn’t resist conjuring a single red rose for the miss. His hand reached forward and from his hand came a blooming crimson rose perfect for Rachele. Beautiful yet dangerous. Despite the obviously overused gift he still found it fitting and was sure that she would appreciate the offer.
He wasn’t sure what he should say next. It was a tough situation that they were in. Just the right wrong move and everything that they had been reaching for would be destroyed. Mathew’s hand swept over the sofa that he was sitting in to offer her a seat then he waved his arm for the tea shop waiter to come take their orders. Tea made things better. Tea always made things better. It was the only beverage in the world that could fix things.
When the young lad totted over he asked, ”What can I do fer you?” Mathew ordered a large Earl Grey tea and nodded for Rachele to make her own order. After her order the man nodded and tisked away and then the silence washed over them for another minute before Mathew spoke again ”I’m glad you came.” he was honestly afraid that she would change her mind. She would come to her senses and realize that this was a bad idea from the get go. It is not like he wanted it to be a bad date. He wanted everything from today and that’s what would make it problematic. He expected too much too soon.

Feeling Mathew's eyes on her made Rachele a little nervous. She was still unsure of how well she had chosen today's ensemble. She really wanted everything to go just right, and already she was finding herself at a loss in front of him. He just had that powerful of an effect. When he spoke, Rachele found herself smiling shyly at him. "Oh good. I was worried. Time got away from me a little." When he called her stunning, for a moment she was speechless. Those kinds of compliments were not something she was used to. "Thank you very much," she almost whispered. "You look incredibly handsome." Had she still been human, she would've blushed at his kiss but as it was she just felt herself color inwardly.
As Mathew cast his spell, Rachele's eyes remained on his hand. When she saw the rose, her breath caught. It was extraordinarily beautiful. Though she was a witch and had been exposed to magic her entire life, it never ceased to amaze her. Slowly, she reached out to touch it and gave Mathew a dazzling smile. He was quite the gentleman and the charmer. "It's lovely, Mathew." Her voice was a little breathless and soft as she accepted his gift. He always thought of the little things.
Silence came then, but even though she was nervous Rachele didn't think it was an awkward one. In her mind, things just didn't get that way with Mathew. He was pretty much the only person she could even say that about. Being careful not to trip, she moved to the sofa and sat down. She was very aware of how close they were sitting and how intimate this place felt. It was different from the usual spots they chose, but she couldn't say that she was sorry about that. It felt a little more special if they deviated once in a while.
The guy from earlier came over to take their orders, and Rachele ordered the same thing as Mathew. Earl Grey had always been her favorite; it was the most relaxing. Her eyes were just drifting over the rest of the place when Mathew spoke, and she immediately focused on him. A gentle smile bloomed on her face. "I'm glad you asked me. How could I not come?" There had been no question in her mind about coming today. She had been looking forward to it more than she would ever admit. Besides, being in Mathew's presence always did something for her. She felt happier, and that was saying quite a lot.

It was on more than one occasion that Mathew found himself using his powers of charm to lure un-expecting girls his way. It had always been a trait of his. Mathew had learned from a young age that his tongue could get him what he wanted easily. His charisma alone could attract even the most resistant of prey. He had tried with all his might not to use them against Rachele but he couldn’t help it when her spell over him was immeasurable. Just a look from her had him quivering to his knees when she was around him. It was almost as if she had an unfair advantage.
It was only a small compliment about his appearance but Rachele’s comment made his smile widen, his tanned skin pulling taunt against his shining grin. She could so little and make his whole night. That was her special talent among many others. She had the ability to soothe the wild beast that stirred within him. When she was with him he often let the constant worry of something terrible happen fall away effortlessly. It didn’t matter if she was a vampire and he was a werewolf. All that truly mattered was that they made each other happy. Mathew would do whatever he could to keep her happy.
After the man left and they were again left in their silence, Mathew stretched his arm around the back of the couch and around Rachele. He didn’t want to make her feel uncomfortable but he had an inkling that she would be okay with close proximity. He softly pulled her close to him for a moment before relaxing again. ”I don’t know, Rach. Perhaps you finally got some sense in you.” Mathew shrugged before peering down at the beauty. She was truly foolish for thinking that nothing could go wrong. She was crazy for even accepting his offer. But, if she was crazy he would gladly be crazy right with her. That’s who he was and that is what she was. Two part of crazy that were meant for each other.
The tea arrived only a short time later and it was only when a tea cup was in both of their hands that he felt it was time to open conversation. True to form, tea made everything better. It was best to ease their way into deeper conversations. What more gentle way was there than to query about her current status. Mathew took a cautious sip of the liquid before asking. ”Rachele, have you been feeling any better?” it was a simple enough statement but for him it was a serious one. Mathew was overly protective of the young miss and it killed him to know that only a few weeks ago, she would not have answered ‘yes’ at all to that question. Or perhaps she would but of course she would have been trying to hide her true feelings.

Why did he have to possess such an overwhelmingly amazing smile? It really didn't seem fair. One of those had such an effect on her, and she was never sure exactly what her reaction would be when he did it. Seeing the smile that came across his face now, it was enough to send a weak feeling directly to her knees. It also brought another smile to her own face. She wondered if he knew how much of an effect he really had on her and on other women come to that. Of course, she wasn't one to really let that sort of thing show. Still, she felt that around Mathew, what she was feeling was probably pretty obvious. Only with him though.
Mathew's proximity was quite a welcome thing to Rachele. Slowly, she relaxed against him wondering if he minded the cold of her skin. However, that thought was soon wiped from her mind as the soothing presence of Mathew washed over her. His movement of her towards him made her smile again. It just felt so natural to be like this with him. "Implying what, exactly?" she asked in slight exasperation. It was almost as though he felt like she was going to just wake up and stop caring about him. That definitely was not going to happen. Of course, if he didn't want or expect her to come, then why did he ask? She remained silent about it, but she worried. Had she done something? "By you is where I intend to stay," she told him seriously.
When the tea arrived, Rachele turned away for a moment to add just two drops from a special vial she carried. Unfortunately, as much as she enjoyed tea, it needed a different sort of flavoring now. It was a little embarrassing to do in front of Mathew, but she wanted to enjoy her tea with him. She didn't want anything to be wrong. As soon as she took the tea into her mouth, an instant warmness and contentment washed over her entire body. If there had been any tension left in her, it now evaporated into the air. Tea really was an excellent cure-all.
Another sip was in her mouth as Mathew asked the question. It gave her a moment to think as she swallowed. It was strange, but she honestly hadn't thought about her current well being for a while. She definitely took that as a positive thing though. "Yes," she answered honestly. "Honestly, I'm not sure when the last time was that I felt this good. What about you?" Her eyes glanced down to the mark on him. It was barely noticeable, but she still worried over it. Yes, she appreciated what he had done, but it was something that she worried might have an effect on him somewhere down the road. Fortunately, it didn't seem like that at the present moment which was a positive sign that nothing would come of it. Given how protective she was of him, it would not have good consequences if anything were to happen.

His face was stoic and rehearsed. Not a muscle moved until she answered. He had been waiting for the worst and expect that. It was only when she spoke that he allowed his guard to lower. ”Good” he simply put before cracking his serious face to glance down to the small girl ”Because im not letting you get away this time.” He cozied up against her cool skin. The comparison of his burning body verse her chilling skin sent electricity down his spine. The feeling sent shivers through his frame. There was no way that he could let her get away again. He didn’t know if he could take it. The idea of Rachele fading from his life was terrifying. He needed her now. There was no escaping that fact any more. If he needed to, Mattie would cling to here no matter what it took. There was no measure that he would not take to ensure their future. Some could even consider him to be in a desperate stage of his life. He didn’t see it that way. He saw it much different. But, perhaps he was a bit of a nutter. However, wasn’t everyone a little bit crazy? Wasn’t that what made life strange and different?
Mathew tried his best not to roll his eyes at Rachele turning from him. He accepted her as she came. He didn’t expect her to change for him. He was the one who needed to fix himself. He had to fix himself for Rachele. He had screwed everything up and it was his turn to try to fix whatever it was that they had. If Rachele didn’t have a problem with Mathew when things got a bit hairy, he didn’t have a problem with her feeding. It didn’t matter to him how she got her fix… well he had to retract that thought.
He had a problem when it came to Rachele feeding from others. Not because he cared if she drank human blood. It was the fact that he had felt this strange connection to her ever since she had drank from him. He didn’t want anyone else having that. It made him feel special to her, like his life suddenly had meaning. Like there was nothing better he could be doing than being with Rachele. Mathew didn’t know if that was their pure deep relationship or it was more to do with Rachele’s vampirism. Nonetheless, Mathew didn’t want Rachele to feel ashamed of who she was around him. ”You don’t have to hide you know?” it wasn’t like he didn’t know what she was.
It was a question that was always on his mind. Whether it was if she was feeling okay or resting enough or emotionally stable or physically secure. He needed to know what was going on with her at all times. Not to be nosy but, because he cared. He would do anything to help her or make her feel better. No matter the stakes. Rachele rarely admitted to anything ever being wrong so it was no surprise that Mathew asked constantly. He feared if he didn’t ask she would never let him know if she was okay. She would never tell him if something was wrong. It wasn’t meant to be in a prying way. It was meant for her to realize that she was protected and that he cared for her.
”I’ve been well, you know, taking care of myself and all that. Charlton, hes… hes been watching after me and me over him. Helps to have a friend in the business.” their relationship had never been defined but if it had he was sure that they were at the very least ‘bros’. Either way he had to put Rachele’s wellbeing over his own. Mathew would be okay, he was strong and a trooper. As was Rachele as well, he just had to ensure that she stayed that way.”You’ve been eating then?” It was forward of him to ask but his bluntness would be the only way to get the answer without Rachele tiptoeing around the question.

There was something in the air between them. She felt it crackling, but she didn't care. With Mathew, she was just happy. Nervous but she was happy. When he said he wasn't going to let her get away, she felt a tingle run from her toes and up her spine. It wasn't what she'd expected for him to say, but it was something that brought her joy to hear. With them, it was hard to say where things were going to go at any one time. However, they always ended up seeing one another again no matter what. It was their connection that even she didn't think they understood completely. "Good," she whispered. "I think only you could keep up with me anyway." She smiled softly at him and then took another sip of tea.
The feeling flowing between their bodies was very pleasant. Her chill mixed with his heat made for a very nice experience. However, part of her mind was still on how she had fed on him. While she had managed to stop when she needed to, it was still not something she had ever envisioned herself doing. Mathew had accepted who she was and had been the one to offer his blood, but she still felt a little guilty about it. Still, she had to admit that it had opened up an entirely different channel of closeness between them. It had changed the way he smelled to her and how deep the connection between them went. She had tried to find answers as to why this was, but she had been unable to uncover anything. A werewolf being fed on by a vampire was apparently something that didn't happen. At least it didn't happen in a way that left both of the creatures living.
Mathew's voice broke through her thoughts. She hadn't even realized that she had been hiding. Apparently she was doing it out of reflex now. Her home situation probably had something to do with that. Slowly her eyes moved up to meet his. For a moment she simply gazed at him. It was amazing to her how Mathew accepted her for what she was even with the flaws that she knew she had. Yes, other people accepted her, but it was different with Mathew. It was on a whole different level, and it was something that she knew she could not be without. "I know. I guess old habits die hard," she responded. Around other vampires, she didn't hide but with others after certain things had happened, she hid as a defense. It had been the best way, and being back meant that she now had to unlearn that specific trait.
She smiled when he told her about how he was doing. She definitely understood how helpful it was to have someone else like you to understand. "I'm glad. I want my Mathew to be happy," she said seriously. The next question came out so bluntly, that for a moment she was a little speechless. Her eating habits wasn't usually a topic of conversation between them, but after what had happened the last time, she couldn't say that there wasn't a good reason for him to ask. "Yes," she answered at last. "Hunting has picked up, so I can eat regularly now." Of course, her regularly was quite different from a human's. She didn't have to eat every day which was nice. "Plus, if it slacked off and I absolutely had to have human, I know ways to go about doing that now." Not that she would, but she knew. Add to that the fact that Mathew had said she could feed on him if she needed to, and she was pretty much set with plans if she needed them.

Mathew’s eyes narrowed on Rachele. What in bloody hell did she mean about knowing a way to feed from humans? Did she mean students? Did she mean other students who went to Beauxbatons? This thought worried him to no end. He knew that it was not up to him who she fed from and he knew he couldn’t control her but it infuriated him to think that she was feeding from someone else. Deer? Okay. Rabbits? Okay. Mathew? Definitely okay. Students? Not cool. But instead of freaking out on Rachele like his instinct was screaming for him to do, he coolly asked ”What do you mean? You figured out a new way to go about it?” Mathew’s voice was calm and practiced. He couldn’t let her think that he had any problem with what she was.
He didn’t want her to be ashamed of who she was. Rachele had enough problems with her grandmother telling her that she was a monster that she didn’t need to hear it from him as well. After all, they were in agreement that if Rachele was a monster then that meant so was Mathew. Perhaps he should not jump so easily to conclusions. Yet again, he couldn’t help to blame his wolfyness on everything that was happening. He had an excuse… at least for now he did. He couldn’t help that testosterone was flooding his boy and that his senses were at his peak. Mathew had all sorts of problems right now and it caused him to think irrational things. Mattie took a small sip of his steaming tea to put his nerves at rest.
His knee bounced up and down restlessly. He wasn’t sure if this was a nervous tick or he was getting tired of trying to play cordial in the tea shop. Who was he kidding? It was less than a few days from the next full moon and he was already on edge let alone trying not to let the beast within him overtake who he was as a person. He couldn’t let his affliction over take his life. He was normal and he wouldn’t let one day of out of the month changed that fact. Despite this, he was going to crazy having to sit around and pretend like an animal wasn’t trying to claw its way out of his insides.
Mathew immediately put down his tea cup and stood in one fluid motion. He extended a hefty hand for Rachele to take. They could sit around here all day if they wanted. Acting like old people, sipping tea and making polite conversation or they could act their age and venture off into the world… well at least as far as the Beauxbatons grounds would allow two students to go. This idea was all well and grand at first thought, a quite afternoon in but honestly, this wasn’t really what either of them was like. ”Come on, let’s get out of here.” Mathew shot the little vampire the world’s most charming grin. Perhaps it would convince her that he had not lost his marbles.

The moment she had said the words about feeding, she regretted it. Mathew's narrowed eyes made her shift uncomfortably, and she knew that she probably shouldn't have chosen to say that. The ways that she knew weren't avenues that she would choose, but they were ways that had been told and shown to her by others like herself. They were, to her, the absolute last options. Perhaps this part of her world was something she should have tried to keep from Mathew. It was a little bit darker than even she liked to think about at times. He was accepting of her, but she knew that the details of feeding could be a bit much. Besides, she didn't want him to worry about her. There were a lot of back alley deals that could take place with blood. He probably wouldn't like that.
The amount of calmness in his voice eased her nerves a little, but she was anxious about answering. Of course, she would not turn away from a question posed by Mathew, but she knew that it might be hard to hear as well as for her to say. "I didn't figure out a new way. After that last incident, some of my other friends suggested or showed me other ways that I could get blood. Most of them are ones I would never consider, but one seems alright." She didn't say that the friends were vampires, but she was sure that he would pick up on what she meant. He wasn't a fan of her coven or any of her other vampire friends really, but he should at least appreciate that they were trying to help.
Rachele was pretty much strictly a 'vegetarian.' Mathew's blood was the only human blood she had. Other than that it was animals or blood pops. Students were not her thing. She could no more imagine harming one of them than sprouting wings and flying. That was the one rule that she would absolutely not break. Feeding on students was bad, and she wouldn't be able to live with herself if she extinguished a life that didn't need to be taken. Slowly she took another drink of her tea and wondered if Mathew would ask for details. She wouldn't mind if he didn't, but she also wouldn't try to change the subject if he did. Sometimes it was hard getting to know the world that the other lived in, but she and Mathew always tried to stay connected through it all.
Her eyes went to Mathew's knee as it bounced. She made no comment but wondered what was on his mind. It wasn't often that she saw him restless like this, but then again they were almost always in outdoors locations where they could both spread their limbs a bit more. Of course, it could also be something else. She wouldn't ask him about that, but she felt that she might be right in guessing. The next thing she knew, Mathew was standing and extending a hand to her. Quickly she took it and stood herself. "I'm right behind you," she responded with a grin. She wasn't sure where they were going, but it would probably be more them than this.

It wasn’t the talk of Rachele’s feeding habits that made Mathew feel uneasy. It was the idea that she didn’t really need him after all. Mathew liked feeling needed. He liked the idea that they were enough for each other. Really in the end, Mathew would never be enough for Rachele and Rachele wouldn’t be able to stop Mathew from turning. They would never be able to just be with each other. In the end, Rachele would get hungry and Mathew would get… well wolfy. It was inevitable. But that didn’t mean it wasn’t worth the effort to be with each other. And that’s exactly what they would do. They would try to be enough and try to fix things when they got rough. Perhaps they made each other normal and that was enough… wasn’t it?
Mathew could not help but pull Rachele along behind him. His feet moved fast along the cobblestone path ways. He weaved in and out of dimly light alleyways. He knew exactly where he wanted to go. He had the perfect spot picked out just for the two of them. There was absolutely no way that Mathew could even think about being civilized in a tea shop this close to the full moon. He was kidding himself to think that he could have lasted an entire day inside with Rachele. Not that he company wasn’t comforting, it was just extremely hard not to fidget and wish he was elsewhere. Mathew kept a watchful eye behind him to ensure that Rachele was not struggling to keep up with his constant turning. He doubted that she would ever have a problem keeping step with him. The back alleyways behind the village typically held nothing more than rubbish bins and a few strange men but it also held a secret that he was sure few knew about.
Mathew trotted along the dirty pathway until he came to an abrupt halt. Once the duo reached a dead end and only when it seemed as if Mathew had drug Rachele into a brick maze and gotten them lost, he knew they were exactly where they should be. It was the ivy covered dead end that Mathew had many times crawled over to reach his wonderland. Paradise waited for them on the other side. Mathew simply stared at the wall with a goofy grin until he turned his head to peer at his accompaniment. Not a single thing in the world could chisel the smirk from his face until he finally spoke. ”I welcome you to paradise.” Mathew’s hand motioned at the wall, hoping to confuse his guest.
Mathew quickly catapulted himself up to the top of the stone path block, he sat a top the short wall and swung one leg to each side, straddling the thin wall. Mathew extended his hand for Rachele once again. ”Come on, the view is spectacular.” Mathew’s gaze turned to the delight behind the dead end - a vast colorful garden that extended towards the numerous rolling intense emerald French hills and valleys. Lard vivid flowers littered the ground in an array of colours. Small butterflies danced with stunningly bright birds whose songs softly filtered through the air. It was the most beautiful place Mathew had been in a long time. He was pretty sure it was farther than any student was allowed to be but there was no stopping him from enjoying his own little slice of heaven. It had been long enough now that Mathew could finally stop being selfish and share this wonderland with someone else.

Keeping up with her handsome friend was not very hard. Rachele could easily have outrun him to wherever they were going had she known their goal. However, she didn't ind that. The impulsive side of Mathew always made her smile. Of course, a lot of things he did made her smile, but that was besides the point. They were moving pretty fast through the crowds. A couple of times she almost ran into people, but thanks to her reflexes was able to avoid them without much problem. Through all the quick turns and darting, Rachele felt extremely reassured and a little giddy. Mathew didn't let his hand slip once, and she had to admit that the feel of it around hers was sending little sparks through her.
She felt pretty sure that people were looking at them, and while she wasn't big on what other people thought, she still wondered what it was like seeing the two of them together. She knew that a few were waiting for them to get together. Mathew's cousin especially seemed set on the idea, but she wondered what else people saw. Could they even begin to understand the bond that she had with this guy? He kept her sane, and he helped her in more ways than she could imagine. Though she had learned other ways to feed, she knew that if the need arose again, she would ask Mathew for help. The expression he had given her when he'd found her so weak was something that stuck in her mind. He hadn't looked at her as a monster, he had looked at her like a friend. The truth was that she needed him very badly. She only hoped that she helped him even slightly as much as he helped her.
The scenery changed as they went down a dirt pathway. A confused look crossed her face for a moment, but it passed as she decided to just go along with it. Where ever Mathew was taking her was bound to be someplace special. He never disappointed when it came to outings. Then, they were staring at a dead end. The ivy covering it was nice, but she was still a little unsure about if this was where they were supposed to be or not. Still, she trusted him and waited to see what would happen next. The smile on his face was reassuring as well what he said. However, she felt sure that she had an inquisitive and confused look on her face as she looked over at the wall in front of them.
Mathew was on top of the wall in a quick motion, and Rachele reached up to accept his hand. In a swift movement she was up the wall landing lightly on her feet. Carefully she sat down next to him and then turned her eyes to the most magnificent view she had seen. It was hard to believe that it was all right her and so close. All of her sense were wrapped up in what was before her. Looking out at the scenery next to Mathew, she felt so completely right. This was perfect. "It's so beautiful," she whispered. "Thank you for bringing e here." There wasn't much else she could say, so instead she simply squeezed his hand and leaned towards him to give a quick kiss on the cheek.

Mathew had been thinking for weeks how to do execute his next move. It had been entire days plagued by planning and plotting. He wanted everything to be exactly right for what he was going to do. He wanted to lock up his investment. He didn’t want there to be any reason for her to reject his proposal. He needed to be sure that he was not going to screw everything up again. Everything was already perfect for Mathew. It just felt right. He couldn’t ask for anything in the world at this point. The only thing that was left to do was to make everything perfect for Rachele. There was no room for error in their delicate situation.
Mathew could not resist but to slide closer to Rachele, his arms swinging around her waist to hold her tight against him. His feet idly swung over the drop. The afternoon sun was shimmering against the flowering meadow and it took a moment for him to realize that Rachele was probably not enjoying the warming pleasure of the sun as much as he was. Perhaps this was not the moment after all. Worst case scenarios played vividly through his mind. He could do what he was about to do and it would mess up their just rekindled relationship and then he would go into a dark place that he could never pull himself out of and if he did manage to do that then he would go right back to what he was doing before and chasing all the girls that he could and treating them like disposable property. Maybe it was better if they just stayed what they were forever and never change. They could happily stay like that right? Well, Rachele probably could. It would drive young mister Amherst insane. The thought of unexclusiveness scared him senseless. He couldn’t bare the thought of Rachele belong to anyone but him and visa versa. He didn’t want anyone to have the idea that he wasn’t being serious.
”Rachele,” his eyes peered down at her softly. He turned away from her to stare at the glorious garden before him. This was much too difficult as it was without having to gauge her facial expressions. If she was going to answer him with no, then he would rather not have to face her at the same time. ”I don’t want to show anyone else this.” Mathew paused for a moment to attempt to explain what he was trying to say ”I mean I don’t want to be this close with anyone else.” It was always Rachele who caused Mathew’s mind to go utterly still. There was no charm left in him, he was no longer prince charming. He just had to speak exactly what he thought with no frills attached. ”I didn’t ask you if you were feeding on students because I was worried about where you fed, I was worried that you let someone else get that intimate with you.” Mathew stopped himself. This felt stupendously wrong to include in such a proposal.
”God!” he exclaimed, his hands raising frustration. Mathew once again turned to Rachele. His voice was rushed and anxious ”Rach, all I have ever wanted since I met you when we were first years was for you to be mine and no one else’s. I can’t stand even the thought of someone else being there for you or holding your hand when things get rough or laughing with you when we make stupid mistakes. Rachele I want to be yours and nothing more, nothing less.” He exhaled sharply when he finished his long winded speech.
So there it was. That was everything. She knew exactly what had been pacing in his mind for weeks. He needed her to know and now that she did it left an empty feeling where those thoughts once filled. Mathew felt stronger than ever but that void needed filling. He hoped that Rachele would fill that void with happy words. He was not sure if he could take another month long session of mulling over mixed words.

Being like this with Mathew now, reminded Rachele of when they were still together. She had been thinking more and more about those times of late, and she couldn't say that she was sorry about it. There was no denying that almost all of her happiest memories involved him somehow. She found herself thinking about him more often than she even wanted to admit to herself. However, she felt that it was too much to hope that he might want the same thing that she did. After all, he was known for being popular among the ladies. What could possibly make him interested in her when there were all those other females? Honestly, she didn't think that she stood a chance. Oh, he was kind enough and affectionate enough with her. That made her feel even more selfish for wanting more.
She was gently shaken from her thoughts when Mathew pulled her close to him. A smile spread across her face, and she let herself relax against him. Besides being quite comfortable, he was also helping to shield her from the sun. It was not painfully bright today; in fact, she felt completely at ease. Everything seemed so blissful today that it was hard to feel anything but happy, especially when she was around Mathew. Quickly she stole a look at him, and a slight frown crossed her face for just a moment. He seemed deep in thought about something, and she wondered if he was alright. However, she knew that if he wished to speak about it, he would. Gently she gave him a little squeeze just to let him know that she was here and because she rather enjoyed hugging him.
When he spoke her name, her dark eyes looked up into his for just an instant before he turned away. A puzzled feeling came over her, but she remained silent so that he could say whatever it was he needed. His confession of not wanting to be this close with anyone else made her glow. It was unexpected but in a good way. The next words caught her by surprise. Knowing that was why he asked was crazy to her. It was not something she would've ever guessed. Then again, Mathew always found ways of surprising her. She was so used to being thought of in a certain light because of her eating requirements. Now, Mathew had opened her eyes to how intimate a thing it could be for her to feed.
The dark eyes of the young vampire did not move from Mathew. A neutral look was on her face at first up until he started with the most wonderful and special speech she had ever heard. It always seemed to her that the feelings she had for Mathew would be a one sided thing; he just seemed so beyond her. Now, here he was saying all these incredible things about her. What he was voicing, she had been feeling too. She wondered for a brief moment if it was possible that she was only dreaming, but she could no longer dream which meant that this was real. The one thing she had looked for was now happening. The one wish that she really yearned for, and it was actually coming true. It was hard to contain how she was feeling.
Without thinking, she immediately threw herself on Mathew and planted a huge kiss right on his lips. She was ecstatic, but she quickly reeled herself back in so that she could actually give him a response. Slowly, she drew back a little so that she was looking him in the eye. "You have no idea how long I've been hoping that there might be even the slightest chance you felt that way about me," she told him. "Mathew, you are the reason I am sane and the reason that I was able to hold onto as much of myself as I did. I think about you all the time, and the thought of you being with anyone else kills me inside. I want to be with you for the rest of the time I have which unless something happens means forever."
Okay, her speech was not as good as his, but she had said how she felt. After keeping it in for so long, it felt wonderful to say what was inside. She just hoped that he had understood. Her head lowered slightly in a bit of embarrassment, but inside she was completely happy.

Had it not been for his favourite girl being in his favourite place during his least favourite time of the month, he probably would not have had the courage to finally ask her what had been plaguing his mind for weeks. He had to tell her. If he hadn’t he was sure that his mind was going to burst. He couldn’t keep going on as if he was content with just being really close friends. It was never going to be enough for the Cossu. In the time that it took for Rachele to answer, he was beginning to have second thoughts. He was terrified that he had mucked everything all up again. He had ruined what they had because he could not be content in life. He was always reaching out for the next best thing. He couldn’t just be happy and patient enough to stay with her just as they were.
But, the second that a flying Rachele planted a kiss on him, his racing mind stopped. It was like everything was just erased and the guilt he had was obliterated. Rachele felt the same way about him that he felt for her. All was good and well for once. There was nothing looming or stopping them from being with each other. No stupid fights. No family affairs. No monster problems. Nothing was going to stop them from just being them. The moment that Rachele pulled back from Mattie a flick of a grimace fell on his face. Oh how he wished she had not pulled away. He wished that they could remain forever like that. Forever kissing. That sounded perfect to him.
Just as Rachele had for him, he let her get out exactly what she had to stay to him. Exactly what she was feeling and how stupid they were for not realizing it earlier. It made him just as equally ecstatic that she wanted to be with Mattie. Mattie’s doggish grin was sprawled widely across his face. This was perfect at last. There was nothing to worry about now except how he was going to top this date. Nothing seemed like it would be able to reach this level of faultlessness. Nothing ever was with them.
None of that mattered now. All that was important to him was that Rachele said yes. It was no longer going to be awkward to introduce her to his friends as ‘this is Rachele Mistrot. My girl….girly type…. Friend who I lik… This is Rachele.’ Now he could say, “This is Rachele Mistrot, my girlfriend.” It was like it rolled off his tongue perfectly. That’s when it struck him… Oh god. Kabes. He was going to have to tell Kabriel Lilly that Amstrot was a thing. It was like the color drained from his face. She had bet that it was going to happen and now that it came true she was going to ‘I told you so’ all the way. Taking a deep inhale he tried to push the thought of his cousin’s overzealous squeal.
Mathew couldn’t help himself from pulling Rachele close once again after she stopped talking. He had her at a distance for long enough. He needed to have her close all the time now. He needed her. That was enough that he had to confess to. Peering down to his girlfriend, Mattie locked one finger under her chin, one hand on the nape of her neck and pulled her in for the most paramount kiss they had to date. Mattie softly nestled his lips in hers and could not help to smile through all of it.
Only after finally pulling away from her, he frowned. ”You know were going to have to tell Kabes right?” and of course he did not only mean about their new relationship. Mathew Amherst was going to have to tell his family he was werewolf. He was going to have to release his biggest secret to the people he was trying to protect by keeping it. Kabriel was going to flip out.
