Basia, i tried your tut but because i cant seem to find a certain module for my cs3, i did this in gimp
the things i did differently, cuz gimp doesn't have selective colouring or an exclusion setting is: I set the dark blue layer to difference instead and added a flood fill layer of fb9b71 set to soft light 13%

Okay, my first tutorial ever. :] This is to help, not for people to copy. If you make something exactly like this, I will go beat you with your own leg xD. This is simply for learning. Now let's get on with it.
FROM: this gallery Selena-Fan.com
Step One;; grab a 500 x 200 canvas that's the most common and then resize images make three images that are blended make sure the last image is flipped. If you don't know how too PM me!
so far!
Step Two;; It would be good if you flattened the image now, grab this from colorfilter.net and place it just underneath the face. Put it on lighten 100%
so far
Step Three;; The next step depends on the color of your images. GO on layer --> new adjustment layer --> levels put in 9 --- 1.26 --- 222 then press okay then flatten image
so far
Step Four;; Grab another texture from Colorfilter.net. PLace it soo it's just gone past the white and it's on the purple bit. Put on Saturation at 47% and you guessed it flatten image!
so far
Step Five;; Go to Layer --> New Fill Layer ---> Solid Color put in #ce945b and set it on Soft Light 100% this will give a nice gold look that is a little secret off mine.
so far
Step Six;; Let's have a pretty image that I use, no it's not from Colorfilter it's from photobucket and I love it. Here put it where you want it. Set it on Lighten or if you want it too look really cool put it on exclusion but for now just do Lighten.
so far
Step Seven;; Now for text, since I don't have much space make a white rectangle at the left of the page(or you could do it at the bottom).I'm going to just do a name of Ashlee Jennifer Summers or maybe Ashlee well anywho her name. FIrst font is Mstral and second is Georgia.
Final Result
there you go if you did my tut show me your results and I hope this helped!

coloring tutorial , so i've decided, just because i suck in the activity aspect of this most of the time, i will contribute with a little graphic tut. (: so, this is a coloring i use a lot of the time in andree's sig and graphics and everywhere, and i really like it. i hope you guys like it too! (:]
EXAMPLES : 1 2 3 4 5
1. so the first thing you do is open a new file in photoshop (or maybe any program, let's try! :D) and drag your picture over to the canvas. crop it as you like.
2. next, you should duplicate the picture three times, so there are three of that picture. to the bottom most picture you will do nothing. the next duplicate up should be sharpened ONCE, unless it was incredibly softened before, but don't sharpen too much. the top most one should be set on screen 100%. this is the basic start for all of the examples. now, i'll tell you how to do each of the examples. (:
EXAMPLE 1. with the base coloring done, you should add color fill #a8a8a8 and set it to linear burn. after that, you should use the gradient tool, set it to the circle gradient, and try to make the circle fairly large before you set that to screen and put the opacity as 30%.
EXAMPLE 2. for this one, i lowered the screen on the base coloring so it wouldn't be too bright. again, i used the circle gradient in the same fashion. after that, i used this stock image and resize it so it's the same height as the graphic. then cut out the middle part so the top and bottom strips are pretty equal.
EXAMPLE 3. for this, all i did is i used the basic coloring, sharpened it a little more, then lowered the opacity so it looked a tiny bit grainy, and desaturated it.
EXAMPLE 4. for example four, what i did was i added a color filter (cooling filter 82 on 15%).
EXAMPLE 5. basic coloring, then add #bababa on darken. after that, you should add this on top, and set it to lighten 100%
